Holiday Inn Express Dijon by IHG

Upon checking in we were welcomed by a charming receptionist. They even took our request as room location into consideration and was done as expected. Room wise excellent bed, well lit bathroom and with all the amenities as expected with Holiday Inn Express. We had a nice and complete breakfast. Free car park is too an added bonus. We are very happy.

We never got to stay even though the hotel kept our non-refundable payment. We only discovered after booking & paying that the on site car park had a height restriction of 1.9m and because we were travelling home from holiday we had a roof box on the car taking us over the limit. That would have been ok if there was anywhere else to park. Seems all car parks in Dijon have the same 1.9m limit. I rechecked the listing on hotels.com and saw that it did mention a height restriction but no detail about how high. As Dijon is a popular stop off point for holidaymakers travelling back from the south of France I can’t believe I’m the first to hit this issue, it would be nice to see more explicit height guidelines and alternative parking options highlighted. I tried reaching out to the hotel for local knowledge of where to park but got radio silence back. I had no choice but to cancel and lose my money. I contacted the hotel pleading for them to be merciful and refund on this occasion but again nothing in reply. Both the hotel and hotels.com have ignored me. I still had to pay city taxes when I didn’t stay it would have been nice to see that payment returned at a minimum.

Wonderful hotel despite being next to a very large road did not hear a thing! Staff were helpful (and spoke amazing English). Would definitely stay again.

Adequate for an overnight stop. Rooms could have been cleaner but acceptable. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was terrible- hot options weren’t hot and the cold buffet was covered in wasps so we gave it a miss.

Stopover on return from driving holiday. This is the second time we have stayed here. Perfect for us. Clean, friendly staff, great breakfast, excellent value.

Good stop over travelling up from the south of France to Calais. Friendly staff and good sized family room, free parking with no height limit. No restaurant for dinner but there’s a Courtepaille restaurant near entrance where hotel residents get discounts off meal. Bar available which also serves breakfast.

Breakfast was terrible. Eggs were not edible. Had it not been included, I would have complained. Room was fine, but had to request pillows for the pull out couch. Communal microwave downstairs was filthy. Could not use. Staff pleasant.

The breakfast was not as good as we would have expected, the sausage was awful, the egg was cold and the toast took ages. The double bed was comfortable but there was a stain on the pillow case. The pull out bed for the children was uncomfortable and also had a stain on the pillow case.

A fantastic and superb stay in Dijon, France. The hotel was in a very good location with friendly, helpful and very approachable members of staff. We got out and about within hours of arrival.

Excellent hôtel. Staff très serviable . La personne a l’accueil nous a recommandé de bons endroits pour découvrir la ville. Restaurant à côté de l’hôtel avec discount . Très comfortable et calme. Très bon petit déjeuner avec option gluten free. On reviendra si on reprend la même route .

Great value for Dijon Wuick tram ride into town

Best reception staff I've met for a long time. Very easy and safe park with no height limit and loads of space. Receptionist was lovely and very kind. Breakfast was perfect and again lovely staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Restaurant was 60 seconds walk with a discount. Also next to a nice fish restaurant and a fast food. Will definitely return. Monty says thank you

Gated securitised parking lot with video surveillance. Great, when you have a car packed with luggage.

Ideal comfortable overnight stay on our way home from South of France. Rooms were clean and comfortable. This was our second stay here. Breakfast was quite limited, with no real gluten free options for our daughter.

What a cracking hotel! Stayed on way back to England. Had everything you could need and pool was fantastic. Great simple breakfast and super clean. Took an Uber into centre of Dijon but also know the tram stop is about a 1km walk so easily accessible.

Wi-Fi was down when I got to the hotel; I called the front desk to report it and they said they had already reported the issue to their provider. Breakfast buffet was rather limited. Restaurant not open for lunch or dinner. A couple of restaurants next door: Burger King, a seafood place, and a BBQ/steak house type place. Had dinner at the latter, and would not recommend it. Overall, the hotel is OK for a brief stay (one or two nights).

Great room, very comfortable, and breakfast. Around 10 minutes outside Dijon, and perfect for a stopover. Staff really helpful and pleasant.

Very good stay, however there were insufficient tables in the cafe for breakfast. We had to sit on chairs in the lobby to eat breakfast off our knees with 3 small children.

The Staff was very cordial and the room was clean. The location though is a little more a kilometer from the nearest Tramstop

***PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU STAY*** The 1st night we couldnt understand why the room was so hot, even though we tried to turn the aircon on, it still seemed very hot. 2nd night of the 30th Dec, we had the same problem. The room temp was around 25degrees Celsius. Again we tried to turn the aircon on and nothing happened. I went to reception and Anne Charlotte informed me that during colder months the deactivate the aircon in the Hotel, she said that if its too hot, I should open the window....REALLY!!!! In this day and age, we have to open a window especially a Motoway side of the Hotel window. Needless to say, we were not happy. Why is this not mentioned on their website???? Expedia couldnt help and said that I need to take it up with the Manager who happens to be on holiday.

Neighbouring restaurants a bit disappointing

The evening manager who welcomed us was extremely kind and helpful. We arrived around 8pm having driven from St Tropez and were exhausted, so his smiling face and ‘nothing is too much trouble’ approach was exactly what we needed. From recommending somewhere to eat, to helping our sons practice their French and generally being upbeat and welcoming, he was brilliant. Hotel facilities were excellent, room spotless, huge shower, pool and amazing breakfast (by the pool!). We will definitely stay again en route through France 👍

Said on reception was very friendly and helpful on our arrival. Hotel very clean. Few issues- stayed in this hotel several times and pillows very hard and lumpy each time but this is personal preference. Handle on bathroom door broken Toilet seat loose. We would stay here again.

It very convenient situated, if you are driving through. The surrounding have couple of restaurants as well fast food choice, you can have dinner, rest and on way the next day .

Free charging for electric cars was great for us, not far to the tram into Dijon centre. The hotel was clean and in good condition near the motorway. So did all we needed

This hotel is a good place for a one-night stay. The property is nice. The breakfast was good. The staff was nice, but unresponsive. When told that the mirrors were dirty, they merely apologized without doing anything about it. The air conditioning was not cooling the room. The staff looked at it and the said that it would cool off eventually. It only cooled off when the weather cooled off.

Bedding wasn’t very comfortable. No pillow options were offered. Didn’t bother to ask due to COVID. The breakfast wasn’t brought to our room, so it wasn’t very easy to carry 2 trays

Staff was friendly and helpful. Great location, close to the city but not too far out. It was a bit noisy with highway noise. Hotel including rooms have been renovated but not really well, Bathroom had a very strong mold/musty smell, even tho it look really good.

Hotel was what you expect from HIE. All good though breakfast choice could have been better.

Not enough pillows and the Air Conditioning didn’t cool the room, had to open the window but with a busy road adjacent it made for a sleepless night.

Overnight stop on a long motorway journey

Great room, secure car parking at night and close to 3 resturants next door for evening meals. Unfortunately the only think that let it down was the breakfast - the cearals weren't great and nor was the coffee.

We stayed only one night. It is very close to Dijon Center. The parking is a huge problem in Europe, and this property has it on site. Hotel staffs are pretty friendly, Especially Laura who welcome us. It is a very clean and modern hotel. Free breakfast was very delicious. We will definitely stay there again. Little difficult to find but was a great hotel. Seafood and Grille restaurants just out front, got 15% discount at Grille with Holiday Inn key. Nice breakfast.

Easy to find. Quick friendly check in. Clean large room. Very quiet. Fantastic shower. Even a small swimming pool. The only slight annoyance is the breakfast queuing system but that’s ok if you don’t go to breakfast the same time as coach parties!!!.

Good location for the autoroute but also 10 minutes walk from a tram station to get into town if you have time. Friendly hotel with parking and places to eat nearby if you don't want to venture further. We use as a stopping off point for the south or the alps.

Great traveling from N Italy to Eurotunnel stop over. Great location for a night to sleep with good, value eating options. Good breakfast... didn’t see anything of Dijon.

The hotel was good, the restaurant across the car park was also good (discount given by hotel). Easy access to motorway. Quality consistent as to be expected with a hotel chain.

Basically OK with a couple of issues. Booked a double bed, confirmation said 2 double beds in the room so I thought fine, must have been the last room available so they gave us a family room rather than miss a booking. There were 2 beds but neither was double. The tap in the hand basin had a pinch poit and a short handle so I got pinched by the tap. Looks like not a great design.

A very brief overnight stay at the hotel whilst travelling. Very easy to find and met at 11pm by friendly hotel receptionist who quickly checked us in. Comfortable, clean room and a good breakfast which Set us up for the drive back to Calais.

We stayed in Dijon for one night on our way to Paris.
