Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Great location and walkability. Nice size room for the value.
While the common areas were clean, cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired. Then there were the little brown flying bugs. Maybe because we were close to the water, but they were a constant nuisance. Overall, would not stay here again.
Some of the staff was very nice and accommodating.
They checked us in 30 minutes late. The AC did not work and we told staff 3 different times. When they decided to fix it, we weren’t allowed in the room for the morning. Making our morning rough with 2 dogs and a toddler. One staff didn’t even acknowledge us or address the problem.
Everything was perfect! Beach across the street and restaurants all within walking distance. Coffee shops too and ice cream
Only thing I wasn’t aware I had to pay a daily parking fee but most likely my fault for not reading everything
The parking was accessible and free. It is also walkable to the beach.
I was expecting the deck at the Lighthouse Restaurant by the bay to be accessible directly from inside the hotel, as I was traveling with two seniors. It was difficult to wheel them from the room down to the parking lot, then drive around to access the restaurant. Having a more convenient indoor route would have made the experience much easier for us.

The Bed
Location. Breakfast included
Price for room. Loud hallway noise and ruckus. Low water pressure
Wonderful staff, especially Carson!
Nothing to brag about, not treated with any perks for being a Hyatt member during stay, would not honor early check in and actually I got confirmation to check in after official check in time. Very pricey for this hotel.
The location was great!
Our room smelled muggy and the bathroom was dated with caulking pealing and moldy.
The hotel is close to all the bars and restaurants in Dewey.
Great staff dog friendly close to bars and the beach. Great place to vacation with your family and friends. The lighthouse restaurant is really nice and has the best sunset views.
A wonderful stay for families! I cannot say enough about the hotel, from the amazing staff to the amenities, it was truly a perfect vacation. The staff is super friendly and available for any questions or additional things you might need during your stay. The location couldn't be better, with the pool access on site (indoor and outdoor), the bay beach just steps from the room and the beach a block away! The restaurants are all in walking distance so no need to go too far. Park your car and leave it in the covered garage until it's time to head home! Highly recommend!!!! I could go on! :)
location was great, cleainess of rooms very good
pool was overgrown with mold, very cloudy, unattractive
I stayed there with my family from 08/18-08/20. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. Mia checked us in, and she was very helpful and cheerful. I will stay here again in the future.
Great experience very friendly staff, very clean hotel, restaurant was great. Housekeeping came very early, so be ready for that. Breakfast was one of the better hotel free Breakfast I've had in all of my travels.
Beach and restaurant were close by.

We had to have our room changed as our neighbors were so loud with a barking dog. Had to check out one room at 11 and wait til 4 to check in to the second room.
Overall it is a very clean and well run hotel, family friendly, with close access to the beach (1 block away) that sits on the bay side. The rooms are very spacious and are cleaned daily, fresh paint, and renovations to the rooms was recently made. Breakfast is a definite plus and outstanding. The only draw back from previous visits was the addition of a $15 a day parking garage fee, it used to be free.
Location
Moldy smell and moldy garage.
Usually stay in the condos, but grandkids like the breakfast. The housekeeping in this hotel is second to none, rooms were so clean and staff so friendly.
Breakfast was a bit crowded but they did a great job. First night noise in hallways, people yelling and slamming doors.
The location was good.
The breakfast left a lot to be desired. A lot of it was pretty empty. The food was ok. Coffee was good.
Positives: sizable room, very close to everything, amazing breakfast, great staff. Negatives: few stains on floor in the room when arrived, dirty looking pool with poor lighting, very tight parking in the parking garage where our new family van was dinged.
The hotel was very nice. The location was great.
The room wasn't cleaned during stay. I had to call to the front desk two days in a row asking for towels because housekeeping didn't clean the room and restock towels, empty trash, etc. For $700 plus a night I expected far better. They also screwed up the room charges and payment. Very disappointed.
The Hyatt was a great place to stay with a family with easy access to the beach and experiences at Dewey, and the hotel was terrific. Everything met our expectations and surpassed them. We will be there again!
The location
They didn’t clean the room
Private beach/bay area The staff were outstanding- friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Very clean environment Parking- easy access to the room from the garage
Microwave was not in the room The hotel did not have a rear access to the private beach- you needed to walk out the front door to get to it Was not aware in advance that only street views were available
Very good location.
Couldn't use the out door pool
Hotel ideal location, but for the room price, poor customer service, room service questionable to poor. Room dirty. Breakfast crew was great! Trash never collected for 3 days...
Check in was EASY and EFFORTLESS Location was spectacular!! Very chill environment/atmosphere with everything you need within a quick walk or short drive away! 10 minutes form the Rehoboth boards and shops also made this location PERFECT! We traveled with a small child so having access to the bay with restrooms so close by was phenomenal! Housekeeping was timely and made sure the room was so clean! Electrical team was phenomenal when we wanted our room a little bit cooler due to our baby! Joe Jukosky and his staff/coworker Chris were so quick to help us with the temperature adjustment with no complaint!! So baby friendly any staff who saw me rocking son to sleep on the deck were very quick to offer me drinks or assistance if needed without being asked (name tags of those I noticed asking me if I needed anything were Loren and I believe another man named Joe) The staff was SO pleasant to work with and welcomed us with smiles the whole stay!
Love the pool and location. It is right between the bay and the ocean... Very clean and doesn't smell like mildew like other places ive stayed at here. Will definitely be coming back next year!
Breakfast was good, room was clean, everyone was very nice.
Could not find a luggage cart when we went to check out.
Location was great could walk everywhere
TV was very confusing and unable to use Netflix account for some reason
We are always happy with our stays at Hyatt Place Dewey. We have been going there since 2019. Our kids love it! We especially loved the upgraded two bedroom condo for being a Hyatt Discoverist member!!
First off the front desk staff were top notch, very responsive to requests and super polite. Loved the 24/7 coffee in the lobby as well. Was surprised by the $15 per day parking charge but the hotel garage was spacious and well lit. We had an issue with the occupancy sensor not connecting to turn on the AC in our room and had to wait till the next day for maintenance to respond to our request so that was disappointing. Warning to those who like privacy in the bathroom- the sliding door to ours while aesthetically pleasing had big gaps at the top and bottom that let any ahem bathroom sounds out. Terrible design. I was also disappointed that the only grass area for dogs to use the bathroom was in the far back of the hotel which was quite a walk for our elderly dog. The entire front and side of the hotel had some kind of rock or rubberized chips that seemed to be intentionally unappealing to dogs - not exactly dog friendly. Rooms, bathroom especially, had some areas of rust and dirty grout and could use a refresh. Overall a nice hotel that could benefit from a few tweaks.
We had an amazing stay. Location was perfect. Kayaks, tiki cruises, Jolly Trolley, beach cafes, 2 beaches (ocean and bay) at the door steps. Breakfast included! We will return!
Everything is great but know that if you are not in the condos (and you can’t if you travel with a dog) you cannot use the outdoor pool. Otherwise it is a wonderful hotel.
The breakfast
My room was very warm and I wasn’t aware I had to pay $15 a day for parking
Everything
We've been coming here for eleven years and we always have a great time. Now renting condos there and looking forward to another decade of memories.
Beautiful place to stay and right by everything. Beach, bay, nite life and food was an easy walk away. Can’t asked for anything more on vacation.
Conveniently close to beach, restaurants and the Bottle & Cork.
The room AC wasn’t quite cold enough and the fan cycled on and off.
The location
When we checked in there was a long strand of hair in the bathroom. Also I don’t like the view, we were supposed to be given an ocean view but our room was facing the parking lot.
The location and the staff were excellent. Polite and helpful.
The noise in the halls
The staff were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, room 132 had a strong sewage odor that persisted the entire 5-day stay. There was a constant sewage smell I couldn't get rid of. I was told all dogs stay on the 1st floor, but saw dogs on other floors. I tried lowering the AC, using Febreze, and a plug-in, but the smell remained. I asked to switch rooms and was told the hotel was fully booked. Having to endure a sewage smell for 5 days with my dog was unacceptable. The hotel needs to address this plumbing/odor issue.
Great dog-friendly hotel- clean look and smell, multiple dog-wash stations, and dog-friendly restaurant right next door. Excellent location on bay and steps from beach!
Clean, comfortable spacious rooms. Great location! Large, well stocked breakfast buffet with typical hot items - eggs, oatmeal, waffle maker. I think you might need to ask for housekeeping service as ours was not cleaned but we saw the staff throughout the floor. Be sure to ask for a room with a window even if it’s to the parking lot. Some rooms are interior without a window. For a hotel on the water there is very limited access to the water as part of the hotel. It shares space with the Lighthouse Event space and the back deck seems to belong to them. Front desk staff is extremely pleasant and helpful!!
We are usually an AirBnB family, so it was nice to stay in a hotel. The people were kind and helpful. Service was great. The common spaces were well kept and cleaned. The pool area was hot and uncomfortable. The 1st floor hallway had a funky smell, but 2nd floor where we stayed was pleasant. Our room was fresh, no stains or hair. The bathroom needs attention, the wallpaper and the shower tiles need replacing. The TV was difficult to connect to. Breakfast was excellent. Paying for parking was my biggest issue, $15. When I signed in they said because we pay for parking, breakfast is free. I signed up on the Hyatt's website with a promo free breakfast and 15% off. The sign in the elevator says free breakfast with stay. I'm sure you see the bad marketing.
Very good
Over twenty of us booked rooms I booked months in advance and pd $340 friends booked weeks in advance and of 100 less why is that been coming there 5 years straight and pd for parking won’t be staying there anymore when we come back next year
Since I became a single father 10 years ago, my son and I made Hyatt Place Dewey Beach "our" getaway. We have been coming back every year for 10 years. This year we noticed the upgrades, and were impressed, as always with the quality, the cleanliness, and hospitality. We hope to come back for another 10 years to come
Location , clean comfortable, convenient
No outdoor pool and limited balcony with rooms.
Great location. So many great places to eat and get drinks. The room was fine it was clean and comfortable. It was a bit nosey but that was expected there is a bar right across the way, It didn't bother us at all. Overall, I had a great stay. I had just come from Ocean City, I was not impressed next time I would skip Ocean City and head right to Dewey Beach.
Very nice hotel. Clean and well appointed rooms. Courteous staff. Nice amenities. My only slight knock was on the breakfast. Just okay at best but good in a pinch. Kids would be happy with the selection.
As usual, terrific place, great location. Can walk to beach and all spots on the strip. Lighthouse is great, good food and drinks and great ambiance. Parking at hotel is 15 a day now, that was not expected but it is what it is.
Great hotel, very clean, close to the beach and entertainment, good breakfast, would definitely stay here again

Great staff (including Jeni!), good breakfast, large clean room, great location. Dog friendly, and welcoming to my (well behaved, leashed) pet. Only issue was there were few grassy areas for pet to relieve herslf.
Very nice hotel. Updated rooms were better than expected. The free breakfast was good. The salt water pool and exercise room where both very good. The hotel was quiet while we were there. We would stay there again.
Th e location, the cleanliness, the luxurious feel, the friendliness of the staff, the amenities, the spacious room — everything!
That I did not stay longer.
Loved the room size with sofa sleeper, perfect to relax after being out walking & the beach to kick back and relax
The staff is professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. The food and the rooms are top-notch! Their catering and wedding accommodations are second to none.
Not a good experience! I was bitten in bed by ants. Our friends next door had to be moved due to bed bugs. Comforter was ripped and mattress pads were stained all yellow. Breakfast room had posted sign no animals inside, Saturday AM attendant checking guests in for breakfast let dog inside. Animals shouldn’t be where food is! Finally I forgot my jacket yes my fault but called hoping they would be honest I told them exactly where it was but was told it wasn’t found I said but nobody else but your employees were in the room after us they said sorry!
The staff was very accommodating. I recommend a king room, and note they use feather pillows and blankets, you may have to ask for them to be changed out.
everything was great, no problems, the rooms where clean, the hotel was clean, the staff was on top of everything and with a smile!!!

I would like to take a moment to recognize Nicole S., who recently left the Hyatt at Dewey Beach. She is truly outstanding—a strong leader, dedicated professional, and incredibly hard-working individual. Nicole consistently went above and beyond, often working long hours over many years to ensure the property was well maintained and that staff performed at their best. She was always present, walking the property late into the evening and making sure everything ran smoothly. What made Nicole especially valuable was her professionalism and authenticity—what you saw was exactly what you got. She treated guests and staff with kindness and respect while maintaining high standards. It is very unfortunate that she is no longer there. In recent years, it seems that several experienced and dedicated employees have been let go, which is disappointing. My husband and I have been visiting this property since it first opened, and we have noticed a decline that is reflected in recent reviews. One concern is the change in the pet policy. Previously, there was a designated floor for guests with dogs, which helped accommodate those with allergies or sensitivities. Now dogs appear to be allowed on every floor, and it feels less controlled. It is truly a shame to see long-standing, meaningful employees replaced, especially those who contributed so much to the quality of the property. I hope management reconsiders its direction and that positive changes are ahead.
Nice hotel with friendly staff. Easy walking distance to some of the best bars and restaurants in Dewey, as well as beach and bay access (but the whole town is two blocks wide, so that's true of most of it). Room was surprisingly large for the price, with an included sitting area for hosting other friends who had come down for the same event. It seems luck of the draw, but if you get a room with a shower rather than a tub, it's a very well appointed bathroom. Of note: while it's easy enough to reach the adjoining Lighthouse Bar and Grill by exiting through the lobby and going down the driveway, the indoor route is a rather poorly signed maze of hallways through the condo portion of the building with multiple elevators that don't stop on all floors. If you reach one elevator, the fire escape plan is enough of a map to help you find the others.
Proximité plage
Our first time in the Delaware Beaches. We found this place, easy to find right on Coastal Highway. Lovely front desk staff, very quiet with a huge lobby. Atmosphere was very welcoming and inviting. Our room was roomy and spotless. Huge bathroom with plenty of towels and space. Super excellent value for the location. Literally one block west of the beach. Parking included right under the hotel but at street level. In and out as much as you want. This place is awesome and would stay here again without question. Central to everything and walkable to everything in Dewey Beach. Two-minute drive to Rehoboth and about a ten-minute drive to Bethany. Highly recommend and we look forward to returning soon.
Love the location, the staff was awesome and the room was very comfortable.
No complaints at all.
Great location to beach, bars, restaurants all within walking distance. Small walk-up bar for Afternoon drink. Very clean and accommodating.
Location, and everything about the room, including accessibility features especially the shower design, the staff, underground parking, location of elevators

We love spending Easter weekend at the Hyatt in Dewey. We always have a great experience. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean. We can't wait to go back next year!
Our stay was absolutely amazing! From the incredibly comfortable beds to the delicious breakfast, every detail exceeded our expectations—there’s truly nothing negative to say. Mia provided outstanding service from check-in to check-out and made our experience even more special. We also loved that the hotel is pet-friendly, which made our trip even better. The ocean is just minutes away, but honestly, the bayside views right by the hotel were just as beautiful—and only steps from our room. We will definitely be staying here again the next time we visit Dewey/Rehoboth!
I had to connect streaming series from my phone to the tv in order to watch anything
Clean property; professional and courteous staff; good food; great comfort; ideal location; good value. Well worth the expenditures. We'll be back.

Hotel is great location right on the bay with the beach across the street. Parking is easy using the parking garage which is under the hotel. Staff was super friendly.
