Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Exceptional breakfast with excellent service. Beautifully kept gardens. Spa was an exceptional extra. I had a wonderful massage, worth every penny. Pool was amazing. Sunbeds were extremely comfortable, important for more mature guests. Pool bar service was excellent and Pool snack food was really good, very good portion sizes. The cave bar was a really nice experience also does light food options but we weren't told this on check in, which we should have been. We booked a superior room, very spacious and very close to everything but not literally on top of everything! Excellent buggy service. Nice extra touch with the free entrance to Negomba beach and thermal spa just mins away by car or shuttle. All staff very polite indeed!
Mattress in room was too firm, needs a review for a mid range medium firm perhaps? The evening meal in the restaurant was not good at all, menu needs to have many more traditional food choices on it. The current menu is too far towards fine dining, so it is not appealing to everyone. We ordered steak off the specials but the accompanying sauces were awful, butter separated! They have another vegan only Michelin 1 star restaurant which we couldn't understand why it wasn't a fish restaurant with a full vegan menu option, as this would have provided a 2nd dining option for guests? The restaurant serving traditional dishes on the hill, ie ischian rabbit was only open 1 evening per week not available for us on the dates of our stay. It was open for lunch though so it seemed odd not open for dinner?? Pool toilets need a sanitary bin to be provided. Finally my birthday was not acknowledged until the following morning, which we thought was very bad as we had messaged in advance that it was my birthday and they saw my passport on check in, which was my actual birthday. The following morning I was handed a pastry with 1 candle by our breakfast waiter!!
We loved the room the pool and the staff!!
Small issues that need maintenance upkeep
Strutturi unica nel suo genere. Tenuta in modo impeccabile. Personale tutto molto disponibile e professionale. Si mangia benissimo, sembra di essere in un’isola sull’isola per come si sta tranquilli
Dear Botania Relais & Spa Team, I had genuinely hoped to write a five-star review after our stay. Your hotel is beautiful. The gardens, the atmosphere, the restaurant, and most importantly the people who work there made our holiday very special. I would especially like to thank Nico and the entire restaurant team for their kindness and professionalism. I would also like to mention the second driver who welcomed us on Ischia—he was courteous, professional, and represented the level of hospitality we expected from Botania. Unfortunately, one experience changed our overall impression. We chose to book our transfer through the hotel, even though our previous hotel’s concierge in Rome could easily have arranged the same journey. We chose Botania because we believed that a transfer organized by a five-star hotel would reflect the same standards of service, professionalism, and, above all, safety. Instead, the driver arrived almost an hour late, spoke to me rudely, refused to help with our luggage, saying, “I’m a driver, Madam, not a porter,” and then drove so aggressively that, for the first time during our entire trip to Italy, we did not feel safe. Later, my daughter told me that she had spent the journey praying that we would arrive safely. After arriving at the hotel, I immediately informed your staff about what had happened. I was told that the driver belonged to an external transportation company and that the management would contact me the following day. No one did. The day before our departure, I raised the matter again myself. However, the conversation with Resident Manager Anna De Siano only took place during our check-out. What disappointed me most was not the driver’s behaviour, but the way the situation was handled afterwards. At no point did I feel that anyone was genuinely interested in understanding what had happened or how it had affected us. The discussion quickly focused on offering a €40 discount on a transfer that had cost approximately €290. For me, this was never about money. I simply hoped for a sincere conversation, an acknowledgement that what happened was unacceptable, and an understanding that when a guest books a service through a five-star hotel, that guest places trust in the hotel itself, regardless of whether the service is provided by an external company. Mistakes can happen anywhere. What defines true hospitality is how those mistakes are handled.
The grounds are breathtaking. Food & drinks were fantastic - along with the included breakfast, phenomenal. The pool outdoors as well as the spa facilities were excellent. Staff was incredibly attentive via WhatsApp, upgraded us to a spectacular room, and helped arrange everything from transport to reservations and more.
Some of the pools were less attended to - the natural thermal pools specifically. The shuttle was convenient but did run irregular customized schedules vs a reliable fixed schedule. There’s pros and cons for both! It was still a gracious convenience to have a shuttle at all.
It's an exceptional establishment - it's quiet - refined - it's extreme high quality.. Only tried the breakfast reastuarant and the snack bar, but was nice.
They have a shuttle or you can walk, but the beach is a 10m walk roughly. frankly the only blemish.

Upscale, lovely hotel with a sprawling layout and lots of charming common areas, such as the stunning bar and pool areas. Our room was elegant in an Italian coastal chic kind of way and it was spacious and luxurious in its design. Service was incredibly friendly and just outstanding in the most earnest way possible. Loved the breakfast, the drinks and casual pool side dining, Few notes - shuttle is great but hotel is not super walkable to off site dinner etc (taxis are easy but pricey). Its an incredible property with hills, etc, so while they do their best to get people around with golf carts on request, i would not go out of my way to recommend to anyone with mobility issues. Food was generally great but our on site dinner was not our best meal ( pool side restaurant not the fine dining option). Overall - outstanding and unique expirience that i would love to return to!
Alles
Although the service outside the room and dining was excellent, we felt that the room was somewhat spaciate: 1. Chromecast was only given to us in request and only worked for a couple of hours then failed 2. Many of usual bathroom amenities where missing, for a Leading Hotels of the World. No snacks. 3. Limited TV channels in English. The only tv channels available were the news. TV was a 55’ small incompatible with Apple IOS. 4. Specialty eggs at breakfast where charged extra 6. Limited room service menu. When i asked for a spaghetti carbonara, this was refused even through this used the same ingredients as at breakfast. 7. Made the staff aware, really could not care about my remarks during and after the stay. Don’t get me wrong, the setting is beautiful, but the resort felt more like a resort in Egypt that in Italy.
A 5 star experience, wanted for nothing, all staff from housekeeping, gardening, front of house, cocktail creations, chef, breakfast and dinner team. We were spoilt for 10 days. Thank you.
One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. The staff throughout the complex were incredible - from of house, catering, facilities and site maintenance. Restaurant went out of their way everyday to cater for my wife’s gluten intolerance by hand delivering food to our table and confirming at every meal what was suitable to eat. The grounds are breathtaking, the pool is great. The hotel is even more beautiful than the pictures. My wife loved all the fruit and vegetables growing and the turtles
Nothing.
Staff were particularly friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and the facilities very good. The position of the hotel in the middle of beautiful gardens was perfect and provided an oasis of calm from the main road outside the resort.
Nothing but the coffee machine in our room was difficult to use.
Spent 5 nights here after a week in Positano and before a couple of days in Naples. What a wonderful tranquil experience in a beautiful setting with outstanding service. Lovely warm 20m length outdoor pool and quiet immaculate gardens with lots to discover round hidden corners. All the staff were super helpful. Beautiful cove beach only 10 min walk away which was fabulous for swimming in. Highly recommended.
Botania is a beautiful resort filled with meticulously kept grounds, facilities, and gardens. The accommodations are extremely clean and fresh. The pool, springs, and spa provide ample opportunity for rest and relaxation. The resort's true beauty, however, lies within its staff! Every member of the Botania team is truly committed to making your experience a most memorable one, providing exquisite service and support throughout your stay. Once you visit, you will want to return again and again...making memories you will cherish for a lifetime.
Totally superb in every way. Fabulous hotel, tranquil gardens, lovely pool, excellent bars and restaurants. Good range of facilities but still intimate. The staff were absolutely incredible! We will be back.
Botania Relais is such a gem. My aunt and I loved our rooms, the food and most of all, the staff. Everyone was a delight. The hotel is a true retreat and I can't stop thinking about it. Grazie!
Excellent property
Beautiful surroundings , peaceful. Excellent hosting from Claudia and Martin and the rest of the team.
None
Excellent hotel, beautiful and first class infrastructure and a level of service from the staff rarely seen and clearly above expectations, even by luxury hotels standards. We will certainly return and had an exceptional time.
Beautiful
Botania Relais&Spa was by far the best hotel experience I have ever had. The staff were incredible. They were incredibly caring and kind and thought of things that I didn’t think I needed by myself. The spa was so calming and relaxing with the hot steam room adding to the atmosphere. Anna and her Team treated us like family which warmed my heart. My husband ended up in the hospital after an accident and the hotel sent a lovely representative to keep me company, provide support and translation assistance. Antonio helped me find my way several times and was always happy to drive and pick me back up. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful, magical place.
Facilities were immaculate! Staff was very friendly, professional and attentive! SPA is very good. We were using it almost every day. Shuttle service very convenient and helpful to move around, taking us to near by attractions, restaurants and towns. We would love to come back one day.
My wife and I just got married in Tuscany and traveled through Italy after. Our final stop was at Botania and what an experience we had! This was truly a magical experience. The staff was warm and professional and the property is gorgeous. The food and accommodations were top tier and we absolutely loved the spa. Make sure you check out the breakfast! We did a couples massage - a MUST! The staff is fantastic and make it hard to want to leave and explore this gem of an island. This is a place that we have already decided we will return to!
Incredible! Beautiful, peaceful property with amazing staff! The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, very large by European standards and we had a beautiful terrace as well. You can reach the thermal gardens easily by walking out the back side of the property. There is a shuttle that will transport you into town during certain hours. We had an included breakfast that had a great a la carte option and lunch poolside was delicious. Would definitely stay here again!
I rarely add reviews, generally reserving comment for the exceptional or the utterly awful. Botania absolutely falls into the former category. It's outstanding. From the moment the weary traveller arrives everything is handled with such care and attention that you immediately, relax. The rooms are stunning and well appointed, clean, bright, airy and calming. The meticulously maintained grounds are a delight to walk through. The staff are more akin to an extended family, the communication of customer preferences passing seamlessly from one to another so you seldom need to repeat yourself at any point - something usually lacking from all but the most exceptional venues. The food is authentically Italian, but they will of course accommodate for your own tastes should you fancy a little comfort food at any point. Service at every meal time is handled with care and attention and there are many delightful options, wines and desserts to tempt you, even at breakfast. If you're a fan of delicious breakfast pastries then you will be more than happy! The hotel has a very well appointed gym (not going near that, I'm on holiday) but if you're one of those people that like to keep trim the equipment is first class. There is a wonderful Spa, with warm pool and steam room, a large open air pool. Elsewhere on the hotel grounds you can find fantastic thermal pools and a sauna. At no point do you feel crowded as there as several options for those seeking to relax in the warming waters. Locally there are several attractions worth a visit within walking distance; wonderful gardens and a lovely, quiet beach set in an attractive bay. If you want to venture further afield there is a shuttle service to the two nearest towns - well worth a visit - and the island itself is perfect, a real gem and doesn't suffer the usual overwhelming amounts of tourists. It feels completely genuine and not contrived to cater to holiday makers. Excursions can be organised through the hotel and honestly, I would recommend doing this. You'll get local knowledge and expertise from people that love where they live. I should mention that there is also a Michelin starred vegetarian restaurant on site. Although we didn't eat there, the food looks as stunning as you would imagine. Maybe next time? (Yes, there will be a next time).
We had the best experience at the Botania Hotel. The property is beautiful, clean & very spacious. The staff is outstanding! From the moment of our arrival they made sure that our stay was comfortable & exceptionally pleasant. Unfortunately my husband had a boating accident & when we arrived to the hotel, they went above & beyond to take care of us. The love & care that we received was like no other. Thank you for everything!
Beautiful gardens, very pleasant staff and high standards of food
Other guests with infants swimming naked and urinating at pool. The road outside the property very hard to walk to town
A wonderful relaxing oasis of calm. Beautiful lush surroundings with just a short (steep) walk to a beautiful bay. Well trained discreet staff and fabulous food.
Super schöne & grüne Anlage, sehr gepflegt, wahnsinnig gutes Frühstück
Unterschiedliche Zimmertypen von klassisch bis modern! Aufpassen, was man möchte…
Loved everything
Outstanding service from all staff who go out of their way to assist. Stunning grounds. Lovely rooms. Quiet and peaceful. Easy access to Negombo. Strongly recommended
Everything was perfect during our stay. We’ve been many times in the Amalfi Coast and in Capri (albeit not in Ischia), and we never felt so special and welcome in a place as much as we did here at Botania. The care, the detail, the attention of everyone made our stay unforgettable and truly unique. We’ve booked for next year already and we’re counting the days!
Nothing
Great service, beautiful property, food on site too notch. Breakfast included is amazing.
Magnifique hôtel situé au milieu de jardins extraordinaires. Accueil, services et restauration irréprochables. Chambres spacieuses avec de très belles vues.
Rien
The food is fabulous and the spa delightful
The hotel is in an incredible setting, the staff are wonderful and go the extra mile. Really enjoyed our stay and have no real complaints
If I had to pick something, the prices in the hotel restaurants are more expensive than the rest of the island.
Everything
Nothing
The location, the beautiful garden, very friendly staff, quiet swimming pool area, good service, the very good breakfast at all.
We staid 9 nights and ate 8 days there - the quality/ price relation doesn't fit. The kitchen tries to produce artificial / modern dishes, which didn't meet our expectations - we think "less is more". Breakfast was very good but it seems that the fruit juices are diluted with water. On the last three mornings it was stinking a lot - an awful smell. We asked the reception and they pretended not to smell it [other guests had the same experience]. This was not very professionell. The opportunities for a long stay are limited - for a hotel with about 100 guests the options in the very small Spa are too less [especially in bad weather].
Natural beauty and service was exceptional.
Botanis is a stunning hotel with beautiful gardens and it’s in a great location on the island. The staff , rooms, food and decor were perfect. We had the most relaxing stay and could not fault a thing. It was way beyond our expectations. Close to the beach and thermal spas. Great restaurants and amazing pool. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend Botanis .
We arrived after a short flight from London to Naples and then journeyed across from Naples to Ischia on the hydrofoil - generally short transfers but it was lovely having such a warm greeting by the hotel with refreshments immediately offered. The room was made up relatively quickly and we had a chance to rest by the pool before being taken to be reunited with the luggage. The room was quaint, air conditioned and all in good working order (we did have one issue with the AC during our stay but this was resolved pronto by the hotel staff who are very responsive to any requests and utilise WhatsApp to achieve this as did our travel rep). The room felt private with a good sized sun terrace and was visited by staff a few times during the day to clean, fill up the drinks and do a turn down service in the evening. No request seemed too much for the staff and the service was certainly outstanding in arranging trips, navigating Ischia, all having great knowledge of the area and of food. The grounds are lush, impeccably maintained and are stepped into the hillside with some lovely ocean views. Food & drink in the hotel was excellent with an amazing selection and fine ingredients most being sourced locally or from their own gardens. Dishes were beautifully presented and different menus throughout the week. We ate primarily in Corbezzolo which was a la carte and included in our room rate and really did not need to eat anywhere else as we just worked our way through the menu. We did however dine in the vegan/vegetarian restaurant Il Mirto and did their 7 course tasting menu (which was more like 10 courses). This was fine dining in such a relaxing setting and it is recommended to try, if just for the experience. Much of what is eaten is grown in the grounds of the hotel. The pool and spa are both centrally located, the spa offering a good menu of treatments. Finally, despite being situated on top of a hill, it is a short taxi ride to most of the island towns and villages on the north side of the island. San Montano and Lacco Ameno are 15 min walking distance if you are reasonably able to walk up some steep but safe roads and worthwhile visiting for a couple of hours. Forio is a nice nearby town with harbour and beach, a short taxi ride and lots of places to lunch, dine out or shop for souvenirs and trendier items. We did a day trip to Procida which you could also do in a half day and not eat up to much into your stay - the hotel helped find a local, reasonably priced company which turned out to be an amazing boat trip to the sister island of Ischia. So in summary - first class service with a smile in a corner of paradise. Will be returning home tomorrow a very happy and relaxed customer.
Our stay at Botania Relais was nothing short of AMAZING!! World class hospitality. Some of the best food we’ve ever eaten in our lives (let alone in Italy). Stunning property, rooms, pools, and spa. Ischia is a dream island. 10/10
Beautiful resort with access to Negombo thermal park. Service on site was exceptional.
The environment
The fact that we couldn’t bring our grandchildren onto the property. The reason we can to Ischia was to see them. Not even to our room
The grounds are beautiful, a place of tranquility. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve experienced in a boutique size hotel. Service was impeccable. Shuttle service to Forio and Lacco Ameno was good albeit it finished at 9pm which was a little early.
A lovely hotel with beautiful, peaceful gardens. The staff were all pleasant and helpful, the rooms lovely (all different) and restaurants very good. The pool was blissful - loved the double Sun loungers and plenty of space and available beds. We ate in the main restaurant (very good and personable staff make recommendations if you wish and at the amazing vegetarian/ vegan Il Mirto. The chef in the latter is very talented and came up with some surprising dishes - all fabulous. Even my carnivore husband thoroughly enjoyed it. You are made to feel special as they only take a few bookings each night and talk you through all the dishes. They grow lots of herbs and vegetables themselves which are used in the dishes. There is a hotel shuttle that will take you into town/ the port for a boat trip/ botanical gardens and they have a customer relations to help with trips, local, restaurants etc. I would be very happy to return to Botania Relais and Spa and Ischia as it’s a lovely island.
Très bel établissement, très confortable. Magnifique environnement. Service d exception.
I’ve been lucky enough to stay at some very good hotels in the past, but this must be one of the best. Incredibly beautiful grounds, amazing restaurants and fabulous staff. No part of the stay was anything less than five star. Arrival: very efficient. They phone before to make sure all ok and then off to the room after a speedy check in (we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a delux) Room - deluxe. - spacious, great air con, lovely bed and bathroom and a balcony with views over the bay to Vesuvius in the distance, Soft drinks complimentary from the minibar, Pool - large and nice to sit beside. Good poolside service. On the arrival of a group of v loud Americans (why can’t you guys have conversations in normal volume shoemaking voices?!) we went up to the Belvedere where there is more seating and another 2 small pools, with a lovely view, as the name suggests. Breakfast - just the best - amazing, fresh, locally sourced. Great service again. And, their own pastry chef, who made the best pastries I have ever had (try the pistachio swirl) Restaurants - both fabulous, I guess look at other reviews for Il Mirto, but it was a memorable experience with fantastically interesting food which stimulated very single taste bud. Spa - this is such a lovely place to get out of the sun. The hot and cold massage pools and stream room are all complimentary. Don’t miss them out. The gym is VERY small with a couple of Cardio machines only and weights which only go up to 10KG. This is the only thing I’d change about the whole place. Staff - always very helpful and friendly. Guest services were some of the best I have encountered. Claudia will meet you at breakfast and help you with anything and everything to do with your stay and bookings of activities - outstanding - thank you All in all, absolutely fabulous and recommended unreservedly.
Beautiful hotel set in lush gardens. Key thing about the place is the staff. Friendly, efficient, smooth and professional. A series of individual rooms dotted around magnificent gardens. A healthy resort with a Michelin green star. Highly recommend all the restaurants and particularly Il Miro, best most creative vegetarian and vegan food. Almost next door to the famous William Walton gardens and easy transport to the concerts there. The best indoor spa with hot and cold Turkish experience. A complete restful reset from the outside world. I’m a fussy middle-aged English lady and I highly recommend it!!
I thought the grounds and the spa were very nice but the staff at reception was very poor. We had no AC working the first night we were there (and very jet lagged from Los Angeles) and the problem was not addressed until the next day. We told them 3 times after we checked in - at 3 PM.and again at 6 PM and then at 10 PM. We got no sleep that night as it was over 85 degrees in the room. At checkout we told these things happen ! We were paying over $650 a night and the management just did not care. Wouldn't go back because of this. Stayed 3 nights and the first night should have been comped due to this problem. Period.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Unforgettable 5-Star Experience at Botania Relais From the moment we arrived at Botania Relais in Ischia, we were blown away by the service, the beauty of the property, and the overall experience. The estate is expansive, immaculately maintained, and surrounded by lush flora that creates a peaceful, almost magical atmosphere. It truly feels like a hidden paradise. What really sets this place apart is the concierge service—honestly, the best I’ve ever experienced. Martin and Claudia were the best!!! Upon check-in, we were given a WhatsApp number to contact the concierge directly, and from that point on, everything was seamless. Whether we needed help with transfers, dinner reservations, or planning leisure activities, they were responsive, thoughtful, and incredibly helpful every time. The property is spotlessly clean and features three fantastic on-site restaurants. A standout moment for us was our first morning at the buffet, where a staff member personally walked us through all the offerings and explained the origins of their fresh, local produce. That level of attention and care was consistent throughout our stay. The views are breathtaking, the swimming pool is serene and luxurious, and every detail is designed to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. We stayed for four nights and left feeling completely recharged—and already thinking about when we can return. I couldn’t recommend Botania Relais more highly. If you're looking for a true five-star experience in Ischia, this is the place.
First class property with first class service. Everyone working at Botania from the ground keepers to the waiters to the management are very accommodating and friendly. Would definitely recommend staying here if you want to have a peaceful vacation and eat great food
Just returned from a 9 day stay at the Botania Relais and Spa. I could not fault the hotel in anyway - it was fantastic from start to finish. Great facilities, exceptional staff all around, who were always extremely helpful, and the food was a delight, possible one of the best breakfast experiences I've had. Then the gardens are just beautiful. We were sorry to leave and would go back in a heartbeat. A slice of paradise on the beautiful island of Ischia.
A fantastic experience. Incredibly welcoming staff, beautiful facilities and the most relaxing and green environment you can imagine. Location is perfect for wandering to the beach or local towns and in a beautiful environment. Rooms are spacious and clean and lots of little touches. Food in the restaurants is excellent, even getting a pizza by the pool is delicious.
We spent four lovely nights at Botania. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to provide a wonderful and memorable experience. The 7 course tasting menu at Il Mirto was one of the best meals we encountered on our two week stay in Italy. Girardo, Giuseppe and Giovanni made the night extra special for our party. The pool and spa area was wonderful. We hope to return in the near future. Nancy Lange
What can I say—this place is truly magical! Initially, I was a bit hesitant since the property isn’t located directly on the beach. However, we ended up preferring the lush gardens, serene greenery, and tranquil setting over the hustle and bustle of the beachfront. For those who do crave the ocean, a stunning beach is just a five-minute walk from the hotel. As someone who appreciates beautifully maintained gardens, wholesome cuisine, and elegant ambiance, this place exceeded all expectations—it checked every box. The grounds are even more breathtaking than I had imagined, and the staff deserve special mention. Every single team member we encountered was warm, attentive, and detail-oriented. Their hospitality truly elevated our experience. We’re genuinely sad to leave this little slice of paradise, but we’re already counting down the days until we return next year. Without a doubt, this was one of the finest hotels we’ve ever stayed at. Thank you Botania!!! We can’t wait to return!
Loved this hotel! Friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooms, excellent buffet at breakfast. Fun drinks by the pool, great massage at Spa. Adorable bar/lounge built into a rock. Great music one night. Only problem was that I didn't stay long enough!
Botania Relais & Spa was hands down the most thoughtfully run hotel we’ve ever stayed at. From the moment we arrived, the service and attention to detail were exceptional. We were greeted with a warm welcome, given a thorough tour of the beautiful grounds, and found treats waiting in our room to celebrate our honeymoon—such a special touch. We had every intention of exploring Ischia, especially with the generous shuttle the hotel provides, but truthfully, we could barely pull ourselves away. Everything we needed—and more—was right there. We spent full days lounging by the pool, enjoying delicious drinks and snacks, and relaxing in the comfortable loungers. The spa was also a highlight. We both loved our facials and made full use of the hot plunge, cold plunge, and steam room. We tried multiple restaurants on the property, and each meal was memorable. Our favorite was the one focused on local cuisine, where we enjoyed a multi-course tasting of traditional Ischia dishes. Breakfast each morning was incredible, with some of the best green juices we’ve ever had, a variety of specialty coffees, and a wide array of options to suit any mood or craving. The cocktail bar was another standout. The staff was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also took the time to get to know our preferences, crafting drinks that felt personal and unique. We had one very minor hiccup during our stay, and when we mentioned it to the staff, they responded with such kindness and urgency. The issue was resolved immediately, and they went out of their way to make sure we felt cared for—complete with their best champagne and continued check-ins throughout the day. This place was absolute magic. We can’t wait to return.
The Botania may be the nicest place we've ever stayed. It certainly had the most gracious and helpful staff. Martin would ask our plans for the day and assist with all our bookings and shuttles. (Great driver too..) The breakfast was varied and delicious. We used the spa's pools and Turkish bath every day and enjoyed the beautiful outdoor pool. The grounds are terrific for walking or lounging. Really 100% great stay -- hope to come back.
Modern facilities, great location just a short walk from the beach
Dinner options within the hotel felt limited given we were staying 3 nights
We visited many places on the Amalfi Coast for our honeymoon, but Ischia and the Botania Relais & Spa was by far our favorite destination. We spent 6 days there (after extending because of flight issues) and could have easily stayed longer we liked it so. much. When our initial room (which featured a large roof deck that felt too spacious for just the two of us) didn't quite match our preferences, the staff graciously relocated (AND upgraded!) us to accommodations better suited to our taste—no fuss, no hassle, just a sincere desire to make us comfortable. We loved the vibrant tiled bathroom and serene patio with dappled light and olive trees. The large wardrobes with plenty of hangers. The extremely comfortable bed with lovely Italian lines. I do with there were some table lamps in the room (as opposed to only overhead and wall sconces) but this wasn't a deal breaker. The property itself is a tranquil, verdant paradise with meandering walking paths and 'hidden' stone stairways. It's very hilly which is something to keep in mind (we loved it but less mobile folks might prefer to be whisked around in one of their golf carts). We loved the secluded hilltop area with two thermal pools and a sauna with an incredible view—and spent hours up there. Despite having no initial plans to use the spa facilities, a conversation with Nadia-- amazing-- at the spa reception changed my mind. Her expertise convinced me to book a massage and facial with Melania—an experience so exceptional that I immediately scheduled another session when we extended our stay. Indulgent yes but wow, was it worth it. We also had an unforgettable dinner at Mirto - the Michelin starred vegetarian restaurant on the property. The entire staff took so much pride in connecting with guests and making them feel comfortable. Onofrio at the bar, Niko at the restaurant, Carlo, Martin and many others—each contributed to the warm, welcoming atmosphere that made us feel at home. The hotel happily made restaurant reservations for us, arranged taxis when required, and provided complimentary shuttles to two locations in nearby towns. While our Amalfi hotel offered stunning luxury, it was almost too formal for us at this time. We felt much more at home at Botania -- which felt like the perfect combination of laid-back luxury and warm, attentive (but not too attentive!) service. If we had to mention anything that wasn't perfect (and this is entirely subjective), the pool music occasionally leaned toward generic American pop (or covers of American pop) that didn't quite match the setting—we much preferred it when they switched to Brazilian instrumental music or old school jazz. Additionally, the grotto bar had a noticeable cleaning product smell that prevented us from enjoying its interior space. These minor observations aside, Botania Relais & Spa has totally captured our hearts and we cannot wait to return!
esperienza positiva , di livello molto alto , un apprezzamento particolare al concept restaurant Mirto , vegetariano cappeggiato dallo chef Tommaso . per il resto , servizio pulizia camere piscine ed il parco anche sopra le mie aspettative. complimenti
Beautiful grounds and rooms
No air conditioning in April. Staff barged into my friends room at 1Opm unannounced No turn down service on second nite
If you’re going in April, be prepared that the air conditioning is not turned on yet! Had to be moved to a room with a water view. Also, someone on staff walked into my friends room( my friend is female) unannounced and scared the crap out of her. This is quite concerning and the front desk had no clue why this happened. The grounds are beautiful and Niko at the restaurant was amazing! He was definitely the highlight of our stay.
Stunningly beautiful luxury hotel, nestled in lush gardens up the mountainside with sea views. Rooms were beautiful, very clean, and spacious. Staff was wonderful and friendly and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. All the food and drinks were also delicious. Ischia is truly a dream destination!
Every detail of the hotel is so thought out and personable, staff are the most hospitable, the food is delicious & the surroundings are stunning. Most relaxed I have been in a long time. Truly a beautiful & luxurious retreat! Thank you Rita & Anna
We would come back to Ischia just to stay here again!!!!! The hotel is wonderful! The gardens and grounds are beautiful. Our room felt like it was tucked away in a garden. Private , huge, comfortable and clean. The bathroom was the largest we had while traveling Italy. Now let’s talk about dining… Oh my gosh! Breakfast is awesome. There are so many delicious choices you might forget to go out and explore. Beautiful baked good, omelette station, Fruit, fresh granolas and big displays of their honey. And there is always a mimosas station. The service is top notch and so attentive. We ordered espresso the first morning and never had to order again it was brought when we sat down each morning. We stopped a couple of times at the small bar. The drinks were so perfect and the snacks from the chef each night were a wonderful surprise. Service was perfect. We actually had friends that stay down the hill on the water at a VERY exclusive and very expensive hotel that we invited for drinks and dinner one night. We had cocktails first and the lovely bar and the. dinner in the restaurant. They commented that our hotel was way better than theirs and the food and service was outstanding. We stayed in one rainy day for Spa and Lunch by the pool. The thermal pools are so lovely. They have several water falls that you can stand under that beats down on your neck for a nice massage. There are bubble chairs where you can relax and soak in the rich minerals. Perfect!
Stunning property, quiet and peaceful and close to a great swimmable beach and AWESOME breakfast! Had the best paella for bfast that I’ve had in a while - it was so good and the fresh pastries and fresh juices they would squeeze for you. Beautiful grounds and gardens to walk and around - we can’t wait to come back!
An absolutely stunning hotel and spa set in beautiful gardens. We had a wonderful time. The attention to detail was something else - the Botania Relais team were fantastic from the moment we arrived and throughout our 5 night stay. Fabulous restaurants, the food was incredible and the breakfast choice excellent.
Very convenient place to stay for a trip to the ruins at Paestum. Room was spacious, nice dual aspect windows. Pillows are hard foam. Foam mattress. Dinner involves an extravagant tasting menu - quite a performance, but there are places to eat just outside the gate. Breakfast very ordinary and no fresh orange juice although there are trees in the garden!
Loved it!
We had planned to visit Nogombo or Poseidon Water Gardens, but the grounds and hot pools at Botania were so beautiful there was no need to go anywhere else. The small thermal pools situated on a terrace above the resort must be the best kept secret, because we always had them to ourselves...so idyllic! Likewise the opportunity to soak in the huge indoor hot tub in private splendor was fabulous. We canceled our dining reservations in town after sampling the excellent cuisine in the restaurant the first night, and indulged ourselves there all three nights of our stay. The breakfast buffet left not one single thing to be desired -- all delicious. We felt pampered by the staff, and surrounded by luxury the whole time at this fabulous resort!
The free shuttle service into town shuts down every day between 1 and 4 in the afternoon, so you need to plan your comings and goings accordingly. It's not like people have no interest in doing anything in the afternoons, and this struck us as odd. We used it to go to the nearby Mortella botanical garden, which is open all day. Because we had scheduled our pick-up at 12:45 we had to wait for 30 minutes at the garden entrance to be picked up. There was probably a rush of people all wanting to be picked up at that same time before the shuttle service ended for the afternoon.
We spent our honeymoon at Botania Relais & Spa this summer. The service was exceptional and the facilities were stunning, relaxing, and exactly what we needed to recover from a busy few weeks. Claudia in particular was amazing – we arrived at Botania without any plans to experience the island, and by the first afternoon of our trip, she had helped us plan a whole itinerary down to the restaurant reservations. Additionally, we loved the bar at La Grotta and enjoyed many an aperitivo and nightcap made by Onofrio.
I've just spent 2 nights at this gorgeous hotel. What can I say? Everything about this hotel is amazing, the rooms, gardens, restaurants and bars. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The owner Rita is so friendly and personally showed me to my room. I usually don't sleep well in hotels but I've had the best sleep since I got here and I am so sorry to leave. All the rooms are individually styled and so comfortable with their own entrances, a little like your own villas. The cave bar is a must to visit, such a lovely setting. The food is all home made and the vegetables and herbs all grown in their own gardens and is so tasty and the presentation is amazing. Definitely worth a stay, you won't be disappointed.
I can not express how beautiful the property is. Beyond the property, you will not find a better staff that actually anticipates your needs. Our ferry was cancelled and without their help, we never would have made to our next destination. The hotel and staff understands how getting the little things right makes ones stay amazing. My wife and I could not have been happier, only wish we stayed longer
Experiência excepcional. Desde a estrutura do hotel até o staff. Ficamos encantados com tudo. Um verdadeiro paraíso. Estamos ansiosos para voltar!
Everything was absolutely perfect!
All was excellent!
Excellent hotel in every level: very kind and helpful , friendly staff !!! Amazing beautiful grounds , surrounded by paradise, ‘’Garden of Eve’’. Amassing restaurants on premises, breakfast is superb! If we ever have a chance will definitely come back to this hotel!
Pros: Excellent service--a special shoutout to Lorenzo in the front desk for his kindness and resourcefulness. We were offered a room upgrade on arrival and the room was well-located and very comfortable, with an outside garden terrace and a private jacuzzi. Great hotel location (in Lacco Ameno, northwest of the island). I loved the ambiance, given the lush greenery in and around the property (honoring its name). The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We did not use the spa facilities, but they looked great, including a thermal pool. Its restaurant, Il Mirto, is vegetarian and top-notch; it has been awarded a Michelin Green star. Fair price, compared to other luxury hotels in the island/region.
Con: It does not have adjacent/direct beach access (perhaps a perk when one visits an island), as other luxury hotels might, but there are nearby beaches that are easily accessible.
Lovely property and gardens!
This hotel is an amazing place for recharging and relaxation. The service is outstanding and the is very friendly and genuine. The massage was great and the yoga teacher brilliant and We loved to start the mornings with her lovely yogaclasses. The breakfast is one of the best we ever had, healthy and Organic. We are already planning to come back next year.
Lovely grounds, pool and staff were friendly and efficient and couldn’t have been more helpful. We decided to change rooms and the staff were extremely accommodating until we had the room which suited us.
Nothing
Very modern, calming and tranquil. All felt very sleek and work the money.
Breakfast was delicious but other food was quite overpriced for what you received.
