Alpenresidenz Ballunspitze - Kinderhotel

Delicious food, superb spa and it’s so close to the ski bus stop that it’s named after the hotel! That ski bus gives access to the whole valley so you can ski at Galtur, Ischgl, Kappl and See.

Both the breakfast and dinner were amazing! Especially the breakfast was one of the best I ever had at a hotel, so many variety and everything was delicious! The rooms were really clean and comfortable. It was also really easy to reach the slopes. Will definitely come back :)

Amazing place to travel with kid(s). In hotel everything is done to satisfy young guests. During the meal times there is always a separate buffet available for children with pizzas, pastas, burgers, etc. Children plates and glasses are also there. Plus you can borrow bottlewarmer, buggy, sledges and many many more kids appliances to make your stay comfortable. Playrooms deserve a separate paragraph. In one big room there are toys, Legos, crabbing tower, stuff like this. Another room is designated for some “basteln”, but that is mostly for older kids. And the third room has airhockey (free of charge!), carting, flipper, etc. - this room can be interesting even for parents. In addition owners demonstrate kid’s movies, invited magician and organize other entertainment after dinner. There is also a ski school, and interactive table, wehere our son spent half of our vacation, and splash pool, where we spent another half. Great hotel, looking forward to come back again.

My only concern was about the babysitting service. Our son was not really willing to stay there without us, so we were really careful leaving him with caregivers for the first (and only) time. Half an hour later a got a call to pick him up, which was expected, therefore still fine. What I find not ok, is when I came to pick him up, he was standing in the middle of the room, crying completely alone, not a single caregiver was trying to sooth him. To be honest after that we had a chance to observe how they deal with other kids in similar situation, so our case was rather an exceptions and we were just unlucky on that day, therefore still 10 out of 10 for the hotel in general.

Immaculately clean rooms, spacious and with all the amenities you need. Staff were super helpful and friendly. The location is right by the bus stop and easy to get to the ski lift.

I could not have anticipated how great a stay my adult daughter (19) and I would have for our 8 nights at Alpenresidenz Ballunspitze. We had two single rooms, which we quite spacious with bed, desk, bathroom and two separate areas for clothes. The rooms were either recently renovated or immaculately maintained as they could have been new. Housekeeping tidied the room daily and checked soap dispenser etc was full. Location is excellent, one stop on the bus from Silvapark ski resort, 15 minutes on the bus to Ischgl (where we skied most days). (Alpenresidenz Ballunspitze is the second stop heading to Ischgl, so you always get a seat.) It is a short walk to Galtur village centre and supermarket. Breakfast and dinner were included and were fabulous. Breakfast is a buffet, with an amazing selection of muselies, plus cereals, breads, cheeses, cold cuts, bacon, eggs, sausages, yogurts, juices etc. Dinner was appetizer and salad buffet, soup or smoothie, main course (chosen from 6 options), desert and cheese buffet. Everything was delicious. There was also cake, fruit and cold cuts put on each afternoon from 2:30 - 5pm, with plenty for everyone. The staff were all wonderful, friendly and helpful. One final aspect that did not apply for us but looked to be amazing was the way Alpenresidenz Ballunspitze caters for kids. They have activities on every day and every evening, with three or four age groups. This looked to include essentially day care for the littlest ones while the rest of the family ski. There are kids meals, drinks and desserts every night all buffet. So I guess the only time Alpenresidenz Ballunspitze might not suit is if you preferred not to share your stay with many many families and children eg perhaps a honeymoon. Overall an amazing stay, and would totally recommend. Being from Australia not sure if we will be back to Ischgl/Galtur, but if we were we would not want to stay anywhere else. Review by Ben
