Tala Private Game Reserve

Das Tala Private Game Reserve ist eine TOP-Empfehlung. Wir waren im Leadwood manor untergebracht und haben uns wie die Könige gefühlt. Insbesondere Tshibana und Phili haben sich um all unsere Wünsche sehr gut gekümmert. Der Infinity-Pool hat es uns besonders angetan. Und auch das Freizeitangebot inklusive Segwaytour waren hervorragend. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Quiet from all the buzz of the city. their food was amazing it reminded me of home when was little. The staff members all of them wonderful service and very welcoming. 10/10 service! The room exceeded my expectation 🌸🩵🩵🩵🩵🥳.

The place was breath taking! Everything was neat, clean and well maintained. The staff were all pleasant, welcoming and extremely helpful to make our stay memorable. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing. A lovely and welcomed break from city life.

We watched the rugby game at the new restaurant "The homestead". The vibes, staff and the food were all excellent.

We stayed at Leadwood Manor which is an adults only accommodation. It was exceptional with beautiful rooms, super friendly and helpful staff, awesome lunch/dinner menu, a huge selection buffet breakfast and a lovely views. This was a really special stay. Would love to have spent more time here. Felt really spoilt and looked after. Highly recommended!

If I could suggest better road signs as there are only a few roads that normal sedan cars can drive on with most of the other roads only accessible by 4x4. Luckily we had a 4x4 otherwise it would have not been as great.

It’s beautiful and peaceful.

The food was amazing, quick turnaround, so you dont wait long to be served. The menu has variety of meals. The presidential suite was exceptional. Closer to the dam so you have a view of animals roaming around.

the road going there is not great, dont use a small cars, an SUV is highly recommended especially going to leadwood manor. there is no chaffeur or concierge service

I arrived home n Friday was in room Pb9 was not happy about the place firstly there was no refrigerator I had things that neeed the refrigerator my fiancé is diabetic his meds stays in the fridge I told staff they promised us that they will give us some ice we slept on Friday then Saturday we went for a game drive we came back and asked for ice I had to wait 3 hours they were saying there are no ice I called the reception telling them that I have medication that needs fridge I need ice I’ve been calling several times they brought the ice immediately after hearing that my man is diabetic his meds stays on the fridge I was pissed off .Another thing there was no microwave wave we as sick people we wake up at night and eat how are we supposed to warm our food at night without microwave lastly we ask a lady from the reception that are we allowed to carry our cooler box to the pool she said yes and while sitting on the pool a guy approached us in the rude manner telling us no cooler box is allowed we told him the lady from the reception said it’s allowed Qe had to go back to the house actually my day was ruined i didn’t even enjoy my trip I even cried was not happy.After they removed us from the pool another couple went there with their small cooler box they went remove.Actually guys do better plz cater for us who are sick and tell you staff to one thing so that there we must not have a miss understanding.My holiday was ruined

Perfect location to get away from the people and the nice. The place is exquisite, I booked at Leadwood cottages and the views are to die for. It was clean and they offer daily cleaning services at no additional cost. The staff was friendly and welcoming, I had a luxury experience.

I would recommend they put mini Fridges on the cottages.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and there were a lot of game to see.

The buildings and rooms needs some maintenance. The bathroom looks a bit run down and the surrounding building are not that neat and well maintained.

The peaceful atmosphere and animals..

We were given unit 6 which is soooooooo dated.....the bath tub leaves alot to be desired... the enamel is so badly damaged... the shower handle requires replacement or at least be cleaned.... interleading room doors didn't have keys separating different families...we had to use the outside furniture to barricade that section for our safety and to protect our possessions.. the door leading to the outside shower doesn't close properly and is secured by a flimsy latch ... didn't have keys as well.... the bedroom didn't have a single floor carpet or mat... sincerely suggest the place requires a major upgrade or atleast address these issues..... we also requested an additional blanket but received non and with no communication regarding same.... poor service.... definitely won't be back.... above comments without prejudice...

The lodge and cottages were beautifully and thoughtfully fitted. The main lodge and Leadwood restaurant were excellent, the ambience, view and food were spectacular. The Leadwood cottages were a piece of solitude and calm. Clean room, linen and amenities. All staff were warm, welcoming and professional. Specific mention to Pam, Phili and Syster from the Leadwood lodge team. They were wonderful.

The property looked beautiful, I loved the open dining area, our room looked very nice. The view was exceptional. It was lovely and peaceful.

Our room had some problems, firstly the bathroom floor was only cemented with no tiles. The bathroom sink had no stopper just a hole which is not okay because what if I drop my toothbrush and it goes in the hole, the bath tub couldn’t hold water. The balcony of our room was not safe at all, how were they even allowed to host people with such a dangerous balcony. The food was not nice, I had a sandwich for lunch and it tasted so bad, I had oxtail with rice and vegetables for daily it was just okay nothing special

The location. The size of the property. Very spacious living areas. The complimentary water in the room. The game drive and the animals we saw. The bird of prey centre.

The bathrooms were very old with no shower screen, so there was alot of water spillage. There was no complimentary wood for the fireplace. No complimentary toiletries.

Gorgeous location. Nice and isolated. Animals walking around everywhere. It was perfect !

Not that I didn’t like it but the roads are bumpy and rough. If you’re booking Leadwood Cottages/Manor, come with a bigger car/SUV.

It was very COLD the heater that was there, wasn't working. They even gave us a fan heater but it still didn't help.

I loved everything!!!…very professional and well trained staff,rooms are clean. I also loved that they have electric blanket,considering that it is winter and it was very cold.

There were not much electrical facilities. We were told that one hair dryer is shared amongst all the rooms at the lodge. A tv could be used since it’s very quiet at the lodge and not much to do unless you have your own vehicle to move around. A little more entertainment would be good. There is a bathtub, but no bubble bath or salts provided. If you’re unaware to carry these products then it would be of no use.

What a gem to discover so close to town. We were fortunate enough to have Leadwood Lodge all to our selves which was such a privilege. The lodge is beautiful, staff exceptional and the dinner was fantastic. We spotted Rhino and a baby giraffe on the way in which was amazing.

The hot water came out in spurts, so unable to bath. The place is run down and outdated. Needs a lot of tlc. Needs electric blankets, heaters in winter.

When we had to drive to onother location for breakfast it wasn't fair

The overall experience was phenomenal, and we would love to return to explore all the lodges across the reserve. However, the absence of a bar fridge and microwave in the accommodation was a notable frustration that dampened an otherwise outstanding stay. These are two basic amenities I've come to expect from any accommodation, whether self-catering or not. To give a practical example: we arrived on a Friday and braaied meat, only to find ourselves with no way to refrigerate the leftovers afterward. The restaurant was already closed by the time we thought to store it there, and the following day we faced the same challenge when trying to reheat it. These are simple, inexpensive items that would make a significant difference to guests' comfort and convenience, so it's hard to understand their absence. To be fair, that was genuinely the only shortcoming — everything else was awesome. But it's a frustration significant enough to give us pause about returning. We sincerely hope this feedback is taken on board, because we'd love to come back without that concern hanging over us.

breakfast was excellent at paperbark and staff were so accommodating and friendly. leadwood supper was not up to standards. I was quoted R60.00 for a slice of cake and was charged R75. my husband ordered rump steak and received two different cut of steaks. food was cold/warm and not hot.. we were not charged for his meal but this does not sit well as this was supposed to be a romantic dinner for his birthday. we took food away. sad we could hear the manager speak to the chef in the kitchen.. and we heard the awful feedback.

Seen the animals was wonderful.

Not catered for halaal or halaal friendly. They need more food options. Food was served cold and orders were mixed up a couple of times. The room seems worn out. They need to put a fresh quote of paint and fix the cupboards. A TV would also be a plus. The place has a lot of potential and needs some love amd care to get back to its glory days.

We stayed at paperbark, the restaurant staff we very friendly and accommodating. Reception staff also attended to issues we had with the lighting very efficiently. I loved the game drive, seeing all the wildlife was amazing especially the close viewing of the Giraffes. The Zebras also come right in front of the rooms which was such a lovely sight. Room was basic but very neat. An enjoyable experience.

No braai facility at paperbark, you would have to travel to the day visitors area to braai. Most of the area was not shaded we struggled in the sun.

The shower head outside had an uneven few spray pattern, I did not enjoy it. It was very cold, there was no heater or carpet or rug to make the stay a bit more comfortable.

Food was very mediocre

The property was amazingly situated, the room was massive, with gorgeous views. Very private & intimate, with fun activities. The whole atmosphere was to die for!!! The restaurant at Leadwood Manor was absolutely amazing, food was delicious with every meal, the chef was tops. Staff was top tier!!! So helpful, so kind, so welcoming, always going above & beyond.

There was no previous communication that it would be best to bring a car to the reserve, so we had to depend of requesting transport to & from our room, the restaurant & activities.

We can’t be paying so much money for such bad service and the rooms are not exactly the same as they show us and more information would be helpful and also be more helpful if you’ll give us more information about the place that it is separated not 1 area

My self drive game drives in my Jimny. The restaurant right there for food and beers till late. Very comfy bed and it smelt like thatch and bush..I loved it

I would love to know the history of the dilapidated house down that one road. Were they for tourists?

Location was great. Dinner meals were basic but good. Breakfast was simple but satisfying. Rooms were spacious.

The bath tap sprayed all over the floor when turned on. One bedside lamp didn’t work. Shower head was half broken and sprayed unevenly. The wooden tanning beds and patio deck was old and full of splinters. The road to the cottage was very rough, almost couldn’t make it in a sedan or normal hatchback. 4x4 car should be recommended in future.
