It was well decorated and generally very welcoming
The restaurant staff had dirty shoes and generally let the hotel down !!
Our second visit and every bit as good as the first!
Nothing ‘not to like’ .
The hotel was clean and friendly staff were welcoming and friendly couldn’t do enough for you . Made our stay enjoyable
Beautifully presented in a period style. Lors of original features. Extensive well kept gardens. Very helpful staff. Nice touches like coffee machines in the rooms.
The room was really dark ! I had to go into the garden to put my makeup on!
Lovely old inn in scenic Cookham. Very good restaurant/pub on site or you can try one of the 7 other restaurants or pubs within 5 minutes walk. Easy parking in the municipal car park around the corner. Good breakfast and comfy beds with good pillows
The room decor is beautiful but very dark. Even the ceiling was painted the darkest blue. Air con was broken - luckily we were after the heatwave
Great stay. lovely hotel
no parking on site, as a mid centre location
Great staff in a boutique hotel - lovely location for beautiful walks
Prefer a small kettle in the room
Nicely decorated, newly Refurbished. Super big bathroom. Very friendly staff.
Loud noise from an ?AC unit or similar right outside our bedroom window that intermittently went on/off and kept us awake through the night.
It was our fourth time here since 2018 and we love it every time. Comfy beds, great showers and awesome food. It also looks like the hotel was refurbished since we last stayed here and I loved the wallpaper particularly.
Small thing, but the shower gel smelled like it may have gone off.
Lovely room situated in a really nice, cosy pub. Bed was very comfortable, and the room was very clean and nicely decorated. Food was also really good, and staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
Room was on the smaller side
Very comfortable accommodation in a village setting. Lovely walks by the Thames. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good food if eating there of an evening.
Nothing significant.
Superb choice of breakfast, staff were all lovely and the room was inviting and comfortable - we will be staying again :)
A local cab company was rung on our behalf for a short minute journey to Cliveden - we were told it would be around £10.00 - subsequently the cab company charged us £18.00 - if the staff member at the Bel & Dragon had got a fixed price we would have had come back to say but the taxi company checked and neither party had mentioned the actual cost on the phone call ... as always the quality of anything is in the detail.
Love this hotel but it a few years since we last stayed. It has been refurbished and is still a fab place to stay and to eat. Breakfast was excellent with great service . Will definitely not leave it so long next time
No kettle for tea only coffee machine - assume should have used that gor water but would prefer small kettle
Beautiful hotel, food, bev & services are a highlight
The bedrooms are a little small. But well serviced, clean & comfortable.
Great location
Room was next to the kitchen extractor fans - in the hot weather the windows opened filled the room with cooking smells. The room was tiny - even opening a case and storing a case was tricky
Location - other than the absence of parking. Staff - friendly and helpful although the bar service was slow
No air conditioning Food - would have been good had it made the short journey from kitchen to table at greater speed.
Beautifully designed rooms, lovely garden and great pub
The room was a bit small, but didn’t impinge too much!
Well appointed room
Our room was one of the smaller ones and we would have preferred a larger one
The staffs were very friendly… Charlotte and every other person
Great ambience helped by friendly and helpful staff. A quirky 600 year old building with atmospheric restaurant and bar and garden.
Poor lighting in the bedrooms and a lack of air conditioning which will be a future must have.
Excellent comfortable room, lovely dog welcome pack. Freshly cooked breakfast very tasty and an extra sausage for the dog
O my downside no parking but plenty nearby
Lovely evening meal and great breakfast.
Room a little small .
Pleasant stay, excellent food especially breakfast.
The hotel was immaculate, staff were super friendly and the food was delicious

Lovely little hotel with a charming feel. The staff were exceptional, really welcoming and helpful. Comfy bed and in a great setting. The breakfast was delightful!
As expected with a property like this there was no air conditioning. Luckily staying in the week it wasn’t that loud at night, but could still hear quite a lot of noise.
The setting and decor are gorgeous. The staff are friendly and well trained. The room was quirky and comfortable. The private dining room was ideal and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended.
Very comfortable, welcoming hotel. Staff deal with large numbers of hotel and dinner guests with efficiency and cheerfulness.
I arrived very early and although checking is meant to be 1500, the staff managed to get my room ready and I was able to check in before 1000. The full English breakfast was a triumph!
The water pressure in the bathroom is a bit hit and miss.
An amazing historic Inn located in the centre of Cookham, offers Restaurant, Bar with patio Garden ideal on warm summer nights. My room was cozy and well decorated, with comfortable furnishings including a large bed. Breakfast was served in the Restaurant and a variety of tasty choices are available including hot dishes which are cooked to order.
There is no parking available at the property, but there is free overnight parking available at locations close by. Arrival should be planned to consider this, especially on Summer months when Cookham becomes busy.
Good food and helpful staff
Good restaurant space
Everything - staff were amazing, accommodation was wonderful can't fault anything at all .
The property was lovely mixture of old and modern very tasteful
The bedroom slightly small and would have liked better hanging facilities for hanging clothes but apart from that very clean and pleasant room.
Lovely old world charm
Very old and very beautiful
Nothing!
Fantastic room, very helpful staff
Nothing
It really was up to a good standard and the room and breakfast was excellent
Bedrooms comfy, faced the main road but was not bothered by traffic noise. Deceiving from the outside, bar/restaurant much bigger than expected. Lovely garden area too.
Nothing
Olde worlde but quirky. Large seating area inside and outside at the back, plus lovely restaurant - light and bright and spacious. The rooms are individually decorated some in the ‘cottage’ some in the main building. The place is spotless. The staff professional friendly and very helpful. Have stayed twice. Would stay again. Breakfast excellent.
No private parking so potentially a bit of a lottery finding a space. But the property more than makes up for this small issue.
Food very good. Staff friendly and helpful.
Breakfast service was slow - but we were in a hurry.
Always a joy staying thetr
Everything
Beautiful building set in the middle of the high street large restaurant and garden lovely clean room
No parking high street parking was very busy
Beautiful country pub hotel. Lovely rooms and outdoor terrace for eating. The pizza truck is a great touch
Food was ok but was hit to the same standard as the hotel
Gorgeous food / pub meal & wine list
The inn was in the center of Cookham with easy access to the important sites in the village. The restaurant in the historic pub was full of character and the food was delicious. We ate there twice in one day!
We liked everything!
The decor of the pub and rooms are delightful, so tasteful. Excellent breakfast & dinner. Amazing location.
The noise! Unfortunate that we stayed on the hottest days of the year. We needed to sleep with windows open & the fans on the roof of the pub were noisy on & off through out the night. If you sleep with windows open, avoid the “Daphne” room.
Comfortable room and excellent restaurant. Staff friendly and attentive.
What a fantastic pub, restaurant and hotel. Bags of character as soon as you walk through the door and welcoming staff. Evening meal was fantastic, all 4 of us enjoyed it. Brilliant breakfast too. Will rebook.
Beautiful hotel rooms and restaurant.
I wouldn’t say there was anything I didn’t like but it is definitely upper end price wise and there’s no parking so this was a bit of an issue
Room was beautifully presented with quality furnishings and linen. Lovely shampoo and conditioner, handwash and moisturizer provided. Added bonus was complimentary liqueur for guests to enjoy at their leisure. Breakfast was really good and cooked to order. Delicious scrambled eggs just how I like them.
We were staying in The Cottage, behind the dining room and were given details on how to access the cottage after the pub had closed. Unfortunately on the night we stayed a man (a guest I presume) had lost his key and was trying to get into the building at 2.30 in the morning. This carried on for at least an hour at which point we phoned the after hours emergency number and left a message. Sleep seriously interrupted. :-(
Location , food , atmosphere
Room was very noisy , bathroom door didn’t shut and no tv channels . Not great for the price
Excellent place to stay in the area. Hotel manager went out of his way to meet all of our requests .
No on site parking
Fabulous wine choices
Parking
Mysig miljö, fina rum och god frukost
Mycket trafik men svårt att undvika mitt i en by. Middagen på kvällen uppfyllde inte riktigt på vad som utlovades på bilder etc
Really lovely old building, beautifully decorated giving a very luxurious feel.
Very clean lovely room. Meant to mention the cistern appeared to be running all the time together with the fan. To be fair didn’t disturb us but something the owners should be aware of. Not sure if the kettle was missing as there were tea bags. Only coffee machine? We were only there for a brief time as we have family in Cookham so only really used the room to sleep in.
The property was very good my husbands veggie breakfast was excellent my traditional breakfast not so. I think mine may have been waiting for my husbands to be served. My bacon I couldn’t eat. Should have asked for it to be replaced as we were the only ones eating so my fault.
All good
Boutique decor and excellent food, comfy bed and good shower in large bathroom also v good service
Room was a bit warm and a generator noise made leaving the window open difficult
Great location wonderful old inn beautifully maintained. Lovely outside space great service and food.
Parking awkward but achievable.
Beautiful accommodation and great food
Parking is very difficult
Amazing welcome, fantastic team, quality of accommodation and restaurant
Nothing - would highly recommend and visit again
Hotel is beautiful inside, rooms were spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was also great.
It’s a special place with great staff, food and drink. We have stayed before and have never been disappointed.
Beautifully decorated & very comfortable

Food was great, room clean.
Very noisy kitchen extraction fans out side bedroom window until 2am ! Second day breakfast order was lost and we were only told 45 minutes later, we had no time to re order so had to leave without breakfast !!
Good welcome, cosy pub, cosy clean rooms with great shower en suite. Super comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Great location for getting to the Chiltern walks/paths
At a stretch, it was disappointing there were no cake or cream tea offerings around lunch time but presumably there’s not much demand for this so I understand why they don’t do lunch.
Great place to stay and friendly staff
Room too hot and windows didn’t open
Whole pub/hotel was exceptional and we were upgraded after we found we couldn't have a bedside table on one side of the bed
Choice ofReal Ale and bottled porters/stout- Black Cab and Fullers Porter
The room was lovely, the breakfast was great, the staff were friendly and the location in the small town of Cookham is delightful! We would definitely stay here again, next time for longer!
a mini fridge in the room would be useful.
Quirky old pub attractively renovated. Great food at breakfast and dinner. Comfortable bed and good shower. Hard working staff.
Restaurant accoustics made it a bit noisy in the evening.
Exceptional pub in beautiful location. Lovely room with fantastic faculties and super comfy bed. Superb breakfast included,
Nothing
