Colonial Resort-1000Islands

The room was clean and comfortable. There were 2 double beds in our room. The bathroom was really clean. Overall, everything was very good. The resort was very convenient for access to our boarding location for the 1000 Islands cruise (3 minutes away).

Piscine non fréquentée donc pas de commentaire mais les installations semblent correctes. Cadre agréable et calme un peu éloigné du centre et qui comme la ville a conservé son côté désuet qui fait son charme. Hébergement correct pour un court séjour même si vétuste et propre : suffisant pour uniquement passer la nuit et visiter le jour. Petit déjeuner simple et minimaliste mais suffisant pour nous : ne pas s'attendre à être servi. Complexe hôtelier qui a du potentiel et qui mériterait d'être rajeuni. S'abstenir si vous recherchez de la modernité et du service.

Very outdated property. Everything is old. It needs a complete makeover.

The whole place has a slightly run down charm. Breakfast was good. Rooms clean. Staff were pretty useless at communicating but when asked directly were helpful. With a little bit of thought and effort it could be a top place.

Clean grounds and clean room. Downside: Paying for a King Deluxe room for the fireplace and it wasn't working. As said, we called the reception and were told that it might be ''frozen'' ... 15 degrees celsius ??? Plus that it was just there for ambiance and not to heat the room. Nowing that, we would have paid for a standard room or they could have given us a credit.

Il y a plusieurs parties distinctes dans l'établissement. Celle où nous étions, le bâtiment et les chambres auraient besoin d'un bon rafraichissement. D'après le nom du motel, on s'attendait à un chouette parc et on a profiter de rien, tout était fermé: restaurant, piscines, etc.

The grounds were nice and Gananoque is beautiful. Check in was easy.

The room was dated but exactly what I expected for the price paid. There was no indoor pool that I could find even though it says on the web site and the big sign right outside the resort that there is an indoor pool.

This is a quaint and charming looking place in a beautiful town. The room was alright as far as cleanliness goes, although a little dated. The washroom however has not been maintained in quite some time. The paint was bubbling and falling off the ceilings and walls, the bathtub grout and caulking was full of mold and gaps. We had a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, but there was no way we’d have used it based on what we saw. The shower head had a constant leak and the whole room smelt musky and damp.

We came in off-season, everything was good overall. We can see that the place used to be in better shape in a past era, but the grounds are still lovely for this price. The fridge in the room was noisy, and bathroom ventilation is needed.

Dirty. Property appearance not as advertised in photos. Plaster on walls coming off from water damage, room smelled musty, small flies, bugs in room, toilet didn't flush fridge dirty. Continental breakfast or coffee not available until after 8am. Had booked for 2 nights left after first night. Stay away from this property!!

Rooms are good but coffee machine has no outlet near by.We have to moved coffee machine to diff places

Staff was helpful when sundries, etc., were required. The Colonial is a little dated-looking and could obviously use a refreshing in many areas of the property, but the old-style, 60s-era family resort concept is actually a nice departure from the sealed up modern hotels we too often stay in. It was nice to sit in front of our room looking at the treed lot that surrounds the buildings and enjoy a beverage as evening fell. And the price was best in town for a room on the weekend we stayed.

Les lits sont très confortables. Le réfrigérateur était défectueux, nous avons perdu nos fruits et légumes. La prise de courant était trop lâche, la fiche ne tenait pas. L'appareil de climatisation était trop bruyant pour le laisser fonctionner durant la nuit.

The rooms big and clean. The parking was perfect. Chairs outside for socializing with the other guests.

La propriété où se trouvent les chambres est très agréable spacieuse avec piscine , spa et écureuils.

Très peu de prises électriques. Il fallait débrancher le réfrigérateur pour brancher la bouilloire ou recharger le téléphone et déplacer un meuble pour atteindre la prise. Peu de place dans la chambre pour poser les valises. Personnel peu accueillant contact très froid et juste administratif.

Nice place to stay for the night. Rooms and beds nice. Outdoor and indoor pool available. Breakfast not so great. Basic things such as cereal, milk, bread, PB&J, yogurt, coffee, tea, and muffins.

Mattress kind of too rigid and pillows very flat. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Ok for the price.

The hotel is suitable for one night, but overall it feels outdated and in need of renovation. The breakfast was disappointing, offering only toast with butter or jam, cereal, yogurt, apples, cupcakes, and coffee or tea. On a positive note, the staff was very kind and welcoming, which was the best part of the stay.

Value for money is not good. Old run down place with musty smell in room. Way too expensive for the room we got. Only had small 2 pillows. Had to keep black-out curtains closed completely if we didn't want people seeing in our room. People smoking continuously beside our door let smoke smell in every time we opened the door. We did appreciate the fridge in room.

Gutes Motel in weitläufiger Anlage mit Ranch-Feeling und zwei Pools innen und außen. Zimmer sind schon etwas älter aber für elnen kurzen Aufenthalt ok. Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt und würden es wieder buchen.

Sehr altes Badezimmer mit Renovierungsbedarf. Zimmer war nach unserem Anspruch an Hygiene nicht sehr sauber aber trotzdem noch ok.

Location was close to town.

Room needed to be updated. Floor was breaking apart with large gaps between the laminate boards. Coffee maker was broken. In the morning at 7:30 am there was only warm water. We tried to cancel but they don't allow cancellations without charging you the full rate. They also advertised a low price of $134 but our bill came out to over $200 with lots of fees. Told the reception about all the things wrong, but he didn't seem to care.

That it was quiet and out of town. Rooms were clean.

Very run down, need lots of matinance, for example, the fences need replacing, lighbulbs in and outside the room was blown, there was nothing indicating that the pubs were closed. Not microwaves in the room, and I had to go looking for one. Needs signs regarding breakfast times and pool times, and that there is no maid service until you check out.

This place is beautiful but comfort level is poor. Person in reception or in breakfast area is severely lacking courtesy , extremely non welcome gesture. Breakfast is extremely poor in quality.

Horrible. Had to leave to stay at the Hilton because it was that bad… nothing like the photos. So misleading. Horrible service. There was absolutely no way I could’ve slept there or showered there. Pee stains on the bed, bandaid left on the lampshade, broken floorboard heaters, not easily accessible, have to walk by people’s porches just to get to your room, front desk person wasn’t there when we arrived and was rude, not helpful, and also was staring at my breasts while I tried to speak to him about the horrible accommodations. Don’t waste your time or money like I did.

Nice place, quiet and clean.

The outside of the property was looking slightly uncared for and in need of decoration. The room was very bare but clean. The breakfast was uninspiring with nothing hot available except coffee.

Good overall experience, easy process. Rooms/bathrooms may need a bit of an upgrade but overall easy process, great location, and easy to get around to downtown or waterfront area. Lots of shops, resturants and coffee shops.

The bed in the room was sway back and and on the floor. Light bulbs were out and the shower water was warm at best. Way overpriced at 200 dollars US. They need to put some $ in this place if they want charge those rates.

Place looks nice from the outside. Reception desk easy to find. Staff not very friendly or welcoming Room has seen better days. The beds were very comfortable and amenities were nice. Generally very clean except there was so much sand on the floor. Old style. The floor has a huge dip so the bathroom door won’t stay open No bedside plugs (except for lamp which was broken). Bathroom needs a complete overhaul. Mild and mildew present. Shower was good with lots of pressure

We booked this location due to the fact it was wheelchair accessable, and it is not. The washroom did not have enough room for a wheelchair to turn around. When we spoke to them about this fact, they stated the the room was partially accessable. A room is either accessable or not. There is no middle ground here.

The bottom of the tub was very slippery , my wife sliiped in the tub,and landed on the floor striking her shoulder on the toilet and her head hit the bahtroom sink.There was no usb charger in the room.

Rooms out dated paint peeling and cracking in the bathroom walls

He only stayed one night, but the property was quiet and clean. The sidewalks were a bit uneven and everything could use a fresh coat of paint. In the room seemed a bit dated. Also the coffee machine had to be moved to another area to plug-in because the only place to plug it in where it was situated was an extension cord, but the extension cord didn’t have a three prong plug just mildly inconvenient. Overall, a comfortable stay… Just not overly luxurious.

El sitio era tranquilo, solo estuvimos una noche, la ubicación esta cerca en coche de Gananoque, ideal si hace el tour de las 1000 islas. El desayuno simple pero buen café. El personal amable y atento.

Le hace falta una reforma, la piscina aunque esta limpia la pintura esta todo desconchada.

This in not a resort as it claims. It is a motel that is very out dated. The price was on the cheaper end and that should of been a red flag. When we arrived to check in, the guy was sitting behind a desk. Not a friendly greeting. I said hello I'm here to check in and his reply was..."name" I told him my name and he got up and put on the counter the interac machine and said I can pay now and handed my key to me. Didn't say where the room was or anything. He said since you are saying more than 2 days if you want your room cleaned to contact the desk in the morning. A couple days later I needed towels and the garbage taken. The staff were next door so I asked the guy. He said girl speaks English I not understand ask her, so I did. The lady gave me the items I needed. The continental breakfast consisted of coffee, tea, juice, apples, muffin, yogurt, cereal and bread to toast. When we went for our continental breakfast which is only open from 7:30-9:30 the guy mending the front desk was coming back and forth to mend the food items. I found this place, the staff never spoke to guests when they are there. Not a very welcoming place, not a good morning or hello from any of them when you passed by them. The indoor and outdoor pool was there but we never used either of them. They didn't look too great. The rooms the beds were not comfortable and the room door had spaces around it as its not fitted properly for the frame. So I would say spend a little more and book a proper hotel.

Molto tranquillo e nella natura. Molto vicino alla zona portuale di Gananoque dove abbiamo visitato le 1000 isole. Rapporto qualità prezzo eccellente. Possibilità di usare piscina coperta e scoperta.

The entire property is run down. In serious need of repair and paint! Pool is peeling so bad and looks terrible. The property looks good from far, but its far from good! They should use some of the money they rake in, to fix the place up, just my opinion. I spent $390 to stay there for 2 nights, was NOT worth that money. Its also run by "new canadians", who obviously just want to rake in the money, but not put any back into the place. Its sad.

Paint peeling off the walls. Parking was kind of hot and miss sone parking on different angles if the bathroom door was open you could not get around the bed. The tv was half hidden on the bed

The room was spotless, beds were comfortable, price was very affordable. I enjoyed my stay very much. Wish I could say the same for the weather.

Pool was awful broken and ripped chairs not properly clean… the reception area musty smell.. very old decor.. I’m in shock .. the balcony felt like it was going to cave in

Very dated property. Had to unplug the fridge as it made a racket. Smells musky. The fellow who checked us in was not particularly friendly.

The washroom was so dirty. Breakfast cold coffee with diet size toast. But for price can’t ask for more.

Large property with a beautiful outdoor setting. Lots of nice flowers,trees and squirrels in the surrounding areas.

Facilities like spa, games, outside pool was out of service or under locking. Drinking water was not available neither in the room nor in the dining area. Cleanliness of the room was good.

This is not five star but it was priced far below the clean quarters, nice beds, kindly treatment we received for our stay. They definitely deserve a chance.
