Bridgeview Farmhouse

Beautiful setting and a lovely host. The breakfast was fantastic.

Stayed here during my solo motorbike trip along the Wild Atlantic Way. Really nice location and views. Owner/ host is really nice and friendly and makes great scones! Breakfast was outstanding.

Had a really lovely stay at Marian's farmhouse while I was passing through West Cork on my trip. The room was quiet and comfortable with loads of space and natural light. Stunning views, great hospitality and excellent homemade scones!

Had a beautiful view! Loved visiting with other travelers, and the breakfast was wonderful! Hostess was helpful with information about where to go around the area. Would stay here again!

Our host welcomed us with tea, coffee and homemade scones!! Our room was comfortable with a view over the water. The breakfasts were superb and Marion could not have been more helpful, phoning restaurants and giving us directions. The house felt like a home from home and we were made to feel very welcome.

Beautiful property with great breakfast and comfortable beds.

Marion, our host, could not have been more helpful or welcoming. It genuinely felt as if we were family friends staying with her. We arrived really late after a delayed ferry and she was very accommodating and helpful in every way. Our room was clean and comfortable with a really beautiful view. Breakfast was outstanding; great choice, all local produce and freshly prepared. The home made scones were a standout and Marion most generously gave us some to take with us for lunch. Very highly recommended.

Incredible location and a most wonderful host.

Amazing! Highly recommend staying here. Its quaint and the service is excellent.

Room small & not en-suite,but that was all that was left when I booked. Marion the host was pleasant, and very helpful.Good breakfast.

My host was very accommodating and gracious. She is a wonderful lady who looks after you well. She makes a great breakfast. Thank you

Marion our host was a super host who couldn't have been more helpful and who welcomed us with tea and scones and who provided an excellent breakfast with many options.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Bridgeview Farmhouse and Marian is a wonderful hostess. We traveled to the Farmhouse with our six-year-old daughter. Our room had two beds, so the space was tight, but it was very comfortable for a two-night stay. The house was clean and comfortable throughout. It's not a fancy place, but it's nice with basic amenities needed for a stay (including high-speed internet access). Imagine you had a kind Irish Aunt who invited you to stay at her house for a time (and cooked you wonderful Irish breakfasts every morning using locally sourced ingredients). That's what it was like staying at the Bridgeview Farmhouse. Some of Marian's family members live close by (including her two young granddaughters who were about the same age as our daughter) and they also helped out and were extremely nice. This home is in the country, so having access to a vehicle is a must. There is nothing within walking distance, but the views are really nice from the house. Be sure to ask Marian for tips on where to go (and how to get there). When we left, Marian gave us custom directions (ignoring Google Maps) to our next location and we enjoyed one of the nicest drives during our time in Ireland. Again, if you are looking for a high-end, fancy B&B, skip the Bridgeview Farmhouse. But if you are looking for an Irish experience in a clean, comfortable, and genuine Irish home (including decades of family pictures on the walls) this is your place! Thank you Marian!

We were lucky to spend two nights at this B&B. Marion is such a lovely and accommodating hostess! She brought us tea and homemade scones with homemade gooseberry jam on arrival. The room was very clean and peaceful. And her garden was absolutely lovely! The views across the water were stunning and we had such a peaceful time. Marion is a wonderful cook and took such great care of us! We even made a mistake and got lost trying to find the house (tip - use google maps, not Apple Maps!) and she was so patient and kind and guided us to the right spot. I can't say enough nice things about the house, the location, and Marion!

Wonderful view, excellent breakfast

Marian was lovely and welcomed us with a friendly greeting upon on our arrival. She provided tea and coffee and allowed us to get settled before showing us around. Each morning we were offered breakfast options and Marian even provided home made comforts that were delucious (scones, jam and marmalade). What she couldn't make herself she provided locally sourced (yogurts, cheese). The room was clean and comfy and the ensuite was a bath with a shower above it. Water was provided in the room and fresh towels each day. The views out of the window of our room and outside were stunning and its only a short drive to the local towns. We would highly recommend a stay here and we will definitely visit again.

Marian was a wonderful host. She couldn’t do enough for me. The breakfast in the morning was top class freshly cooked using local produce. Will definitely come back to stay here

Traveled to Ireland solo for my birthday and had a few hiccups whilst there and Marian was absolutely amazing went above and beyond what was expected, had an amazing stay catered for every step by Marian, 100% will visit again. Could not find fault at all, Marian is an amazing host and a kind caring woman 10/10,

Due to planning issues we arrived at 9:00 pm to the B&B. I had emailed Marion to let her know. She responded positively and had a key ready for us when we arrived. Although we didn't expect her to greet us at that time, she did and was very welcoming! She showed us to our room and offered us tea/coffee and a scone. The bed was comfortable and yhe room was quiet. In the morning she served us a delcious breakfast with cold and hot options all made by herself on a table by table basis so it was hot and fresh! The view from our room and the breakfast room was stunning! As it is a farmhouse it takes several backroads to get there, which one would expect, and is well worth the drive to get there! She was a delight to chat with even though she was busy and clearly loves to meet new people of different backgrounds! We would stay here again!

Fabulous breakfast and hospitality. Lovely setting.

Host was friendly and very helpful during the busy season. Accommodations were generous and the drive was worth it.

The host, Marian, could not do enough for us. We were completely spoiled every day with her amazing breakfasts. Her local knowledge helped a great deal - beautiful walks nearby. We would thoroughly recommend this accommodation in every way

The view was great and the host was so caring and went out of her way to please and help.

The stay at the farmhouse was amazing. I would highly recommend this to anybody. The innkeeper was remarkable and stayed in contact with me before we arrived to make sure that we were Aware of current conditions and making sure that if we needed assistance before hand. The room was an excellent condition. Very clean. And the view was amazing. Breakfast was served by the innkeeper in the morning and that was even more spectacular. I would highly recommend this place

We supposed be to have breakfast at 8.30am but waited waited until At 9.am also waiting for coffee until half hour while she gave us soda bread without coffee . She in my nerve she keep ask question . I want to relaxing in the morning . Very slowly breakfast service . Never come back here again . I say this is 4 out of 10

CLEAN AND FRIENDLY WITH AN EXELLENT BREAKFAST.

This is a very cute little farm house run by a lovely woman who was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was brilliant, including local produce and homemade scones. Dinner options and other local amenities are however limited as the farmhouse is off the beaten track. Spectacular views from the rooms though.

A very friendly welcome from Marian who attended to our every need, giving us directions to the nearby restaurant and lots of information about the local area. The property is on a hillside with magnificent views overlooking the estuary. Breakfast was excellent! The offer of made scones to take away was a real bonus

Had a lovely one night stay at Bridgeview Farmhouse. After welcoming us and getting us settled in our room, Marion made us some wonderful tea/coffee and scones that we enjoyed in the garden. She then called ahead to secure us a dinner reservation in Kinsale. We came back from dinner with some wine, and Marion quickly set us up with some wine glasses. The farmhouse is clean and the rooms are private. The view is beautiful! Our breakfast the next morning was made to order and delicious. Marion even offered to pack us some scones to to take with us when we were leaving. She went out of her way to be helpful and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again, as well as direct friends and family to Bridgeview Farmhouse. Wish I was there right now!

We had a wonderful stay in Bridgeview Farmhouse. Marian was an excellent host, very friendly and attentive. She gave us lovely scones and tea on arrival. The B&B was very clean and cosy. The views from the B&B were stunning. The breakfast was delicious. There were so many options for choose from. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

Lovely area, very close to the sea. Very comfortable house and spotlessly clean. It's in a quiet locality with shops a short drive away. Lovely restaurant within a 4 minute drive. Breakfast was excellent and cooked freshly to order each morning. The host was very welcoming and helpful. Overall I am happy to recommend it and would stay there again.

The view from our room was breathtaking overlooking an estuary. Marion, the lady who runs it is adorable and exceedingly kind and eager to please.

Amazing

From the moment we stepped in the house we felt at home. Marian was an absolute delight. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was waaay beyond expectation. The best fresh baked scones I had.

Very friendly and welcoming. Marian is a great host and eager to please. Room was comfortable, huge breakfast and beautiful view. Couldn't have asked for more.

As other guests have commented on, the choice at breakfast was very good. However, we did feel that our hostess should have had some help in the kitchen. We had to wait a while for drinks to be provided whereas in other guest houses we stayed in, fruit juice was available in the dining room for us to help ourselves whilst waiting for hot drinks. There was no provision of tea and coffee or a television in our room although these were provided downstairs with a supply of scones. We weren’t told until we arrived that payment had to be in cash as debit/credit cards weren’t accepted. Overall we felt that Bridgeview would benefit from some professional advice to bring it up to today’s standards.

Comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. Owner is very helpful and accommodating.

Marion goes the distance to ensure our needs are met : A text with exact directions/ much better than GPS!!! She presented us with an early breakfast that also became part of our lunch. My husband enjoyed a glass of Baileys Irish Cream. My first taste of it; may consider it with vanilla bean ice cream. Our room was just right: great sleep, great view of the Bridge ( our rooms name). Lily the dog got the pits and tummy rubbed with her tail thumping. WiFi excellent. Garden gorgeous. Would wish we could stay longer/return Dinner at the Pink Elephant; yummy $$$ but we were tired and ate light and affordable. A plus: close by with an awesome view of the bay/ harbor. Plus she’s a hostess bar none.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The service was excellent and Marion provided great food and hospitality. She offered a selection of breakfasts. Her scones and jams were homemade and delicious. The on suite bathroom was spacious. Beautiful views from the windows, and in addition, we loved her friendly dog Lily.

Marion s an excellent hostess .. wethoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bridgeview. Absolutely wonderful breakfast .. the scones and homemade jam were awesome .. the views were awesome!

Wonderful location, comfortable room, friendly Irish welcome. We were totally spoilt from the time we walked into this beautiful house over looking the water and rolling green hills. We would recommend this B&an to any traveller.

Beautiful views, delicious food, and the best sleep in Ireland after over two weeks of travel. Highly recommend!

The hostess went out of her way to be hospitable. The home cooking was great. The location was fabulous but a little hard to locate. We would go again.

Located off the beaten track, this B&B cannot be faulted. It is run by a very friendly lady who cannot do enough for you. Breakfasts are absolutely fantastic.

V friendly welcome. V generous landlady

the view was spec tacular and the inn restful...you just have to be comfortable driving narrow Irish roads posted at 80km/h..I got my needed rest.

I stayed two nights here and it was really nice and relaxing. Awesome location and very peaceful. The owner, Marian, is an amazing host and goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable. I’m not a B&B person and I wasn’t expecting much, but I was very pleasantly surprised at the comfort and the amenities. The room was nicely decorated, updated and clean, with a great view and the breakfast was very tasty. There was even an adapter already in the room where I could plug in my American devices and WIFI signal was strong in the room. The only downside is that Marian cannot take credit cards so be aware you need to take enough cash. I would definitely recommend this place.

Absolutely great stay

owner Marian was so pleasant and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable; beautiful home with awesome views; delicious breakfast; one of the best B&B's we stayed in during our trip and would definately go back!!

What am lovely place! Just!

A little difficult to find but well worth finding. Owner was away when we arrived but had a welcome note for us and instructions for making ourselves at home. When she arrived she offered treats and drinks substantial enough so we skipped going into town for dinner. The view from our room was pastoral and serene with cows grazing right out the window. Breakfast was mostly homemade or locally fresh. It was presented beautifully with hots hot and colds chilled.

Fab breakfast ,landscape awesome food the window

We truly enjoyed our stay at Bridgeview. Our Hostess was very nice and concerned about our happiness. She went the extra mile to leave out fresh made scones and tea. She even offered to leave us a couple of beers for when we returned from Dinner. The view was spectacular! We even took her dog for a walk down the road which was nice since we were missing our dogs at home. It was a great place to stay for exploring areas like Cork or Kinsale. It was wonderful to also have a menu to choose from instead of just the Full Irish Breakfast.

.........................................................................................................

If you have a car or rented a car, it's awesome to stay there!!! Awesome scenery of sunrise!!!

Amazing. Lovely homely place to stay. All free food. Scones and tea available 24/7.

Marion is the hostess with the mostess. Hearty breakfast and Marion's care and concern of our comfort and contentedness

Amazing views and very welcoming

Marian was very hospitable. She had a good selection of choices for breakfast which she cooked for you whenever you were ready. The French toast was great. The view from our room was beautiful.

Interesting to see the traditional working farm. We were made welcomed and lovely countryside.

I had been on the road for some time and I was battling an infection. At first I had second thoughts about booking in the country so far from Kinsale. What a blessing Bridgeview was. Peaceful, charming, quaint loads of character and the proprietor Marion is a wonderful kind busy soul. If you don't stay here...it will be a big mistake! On top of everything else her breakfasts with homemade scones will fill you for the rest of the day. Thank you Marion.

We had the perfect stay with Eileen, she was warm and welcoming, and so was our room. So comfy and cozy, and we had the best breakfast in the morning. It is quite a drive out of Cork, but we're glad we got a chance to see this part of the country.

Marion was a fabulous hostess. Attentive, concerned, helpful and a great cook! House is lovely, view to river beautiful. A great experience. Thank you!

Great service.. lovely quiet place to stay..:)

We saw the red Farmhouse on the hill and wound our way up the dirt road past the curious cows to the entrance. We were greeted enthusiastically by Lilly the dog who later that evening accompanied us down the road and up the highway to the Pink Elephant restaurant. We worried that she shouldn’t have been straying so far only to learn that she does it quite regularly. In fact the restaurant owner asked why we hadn’t brought her in with us! We were treated like family from the moment we met Marian. On our first night, I explained that my maternal Great-Grandmother hailed from somewhere between Killbrittain and Timoleague. I was curious to see the land where ancestors once lived. Marian hopped on the phone with the parish priest and had him search birth records in the parish. Since I did not have the birthdate of my Great Grandmother we were unable to pinpoint the family exactly. However, it turned out that there were three families with the name in the region and on our final day Marian drove us out to the now dilapidated farmstead of one of them! The accommodations were very pleasant, the shower actually had water pressure (not the case in previous places), the view from our window overlooking the farms and hillsides was beautiful and breakfast was delicious. I would recommend the Bridgeview Farmhouse to anyone. I plan on returning whenever I’m in Cork next. Somehow, staying at the Bridgeview Farmhouse felt like coming home.

This B&B was recommended by our friends and we weren't disappointed. Mary our host was very nice and breakfast was great. Must go to the Pink Elephant restaurant down the road. Overall a very good experience in the Irish country with beautiful views.

Absolutely charming B&B in the Irish countryside. Calm, quiet, relaxing, and just a short drive from several villages. The breakfast was fantastic!

Let me start off by saying Marion is an amazingly welcoming hostess. You pull into the the farmhouse and Marion greets you by name and brings you into the sitting room for some freshly made scones and coffee/tea. The whole time I was there she went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable, had everything I needed, gave suggestions on where to go, and what to see. I can't recommend this beautiful place enough!

This was by far our best B&B experience in Ireland. The location is perfect, secluded and absolutely gorgeous, while still nearby main thoroughfares. Our room was amazing, overlooking the farm and river. And Mary was great, helping us to find places to eat and even making fresh scones and tea for us upon arrival. We loved everything about our stay, and would strongly recommend the Bridgeview Farmhouse to friends looking to explore Ireland. P.S. we miss Lily too! Hope she's doing well.

Lovely Farmhouse just outside KilBrittain, and about a 20 to 30 minute drive from Kinsale. Two or three decent restaurants within a fifteen minute drive, none easily walkable. Marion (owner of B&B) was friendly and warm, offering advice on where to eat, what to see, what to avoid. Sources breakfast items locally, with some great cheeses and sausage and her own baking (bread, scones, etc). Small lounge, comfortable for 2-3, and luckily we did not overlap with other guests wanting to use it (she can handle about a dozen in 5 bedrooms).

Bridgeview is a great way to experience local hospitality with quick drives to nearby villages. The owner makes the experience even better.

Would return

It is a home and you are staying in small guest rooms. Make sure to pay with cash. Doesn't accept anything else than cash.

A little difficult to find without a GPS locator, but well worth the effort. Off the beaten track, but quiet and serene location. Our host was EXTREMELY accommodating with Tea at the ready at all times, suggestions for places for dinner and sites to see, and one of the best breakfast spreads we had during our entire trip. It was a pleasure, its too bad we only got to stay one night. Plus, Lily (Dog) was a treat since ours were not with us on this trip.

Just spent a relaxing few days at this guesthouse which I highly recommend the propietor Marian made her guests feel very welcomed and even supplied you with freshly baked scones every day! It has the unique guest house come farm attached and the views from your room are stunning.
