Really loved the home-cooked breakfasts. Owners were terrific hosts, very personable and knowledgeable about the area.

The room was a little crowded with furniture.

The breakfast & coffee were delicious. The bed was very comfortable, shower was great. Really my only disappointment was it advised a room with sea view.... but the trees across the street were too high and we could not see the sea.

Extremely pleasant hosts in a beautiful Victorian home. Excellent breakfast! Was a good location for us to travel in that area.

The location was a bit noisier than I was expecting, in terms of the road and traffic.

We recieved a very warm welcome when we arrived and were well looked after during our stay. Enjoyed speaking with other guests during breakfast. The room was very well equipped and comfortable. Free parking right at the property was also appreciated. The host was very helpful in suggesting places to go and routes to take for the most scenic views. A lovely stay overall.

No shoes in the house?? Unusual for sure. Bed was only accessible from one side. As an older person it was a bit of a challenge!

The Spaniard’s Room is a lovely old house with an olde world feeling. We only stayed two nights but were able to see lots of interesting local places including the Cable Station Museum at Heart’s Content. Our room was very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and everything was clean. There are several restaurants within a short drive and one good Chinese restaurant almost next door that you can walk to. Our hostess and her sister gave us a warm welcome and we enjoyed meeting them.

The house is on a very busy road - we had no trouble sleeping, but there is plenty of traffic. One thing only we found off-putting. On leaving we paid with our credit card and were faced with a choice of tip amounts, 18% and up. This seemed very unusual as we have never been expected to tip at a B&B before and found it very uncomfortable while the owner was holding the machine. In the awkwardness of the moment I may have missed that there was a “no tip” option, but then again choosing that would have been uncomfortable too. We left feeling disappointed at being put in that situation. Perhaps a “tip jar” in the front hallway would be a better option.

Superb, home cooked breakfast. Superfun and accomodating local hosts who we really enjoyed chatting with. Queen bed was very comfortable, but the room itself was a little cramped (although we have certainly had worse!). Bathroom was a good size, however, and had quality fittings. The room even had airconditioning--most unusual in this type of place, especially in Newfoundland!

Breakfast was interesting but we stayed in many bnb's over 18 days and this was the only one where you had to check off what you wanted and you couldn't choose juice PLUS tea/coffee. Had to be one or the other. Other bnb's made incredible breakfasts and all homemade. No eggs/bacon/toast at other bnbs. This one was the cheapest but would recommend charging a little more and making it more of an experience.

No common area for guests to go. All other places had a common area such as a parlor, living room, kitchen etc. Only place we could use other than our bedroom was the outside patio.

My partner is allergic to dogs and the owners have one. If you ask people not to wear perfumes and fragrances you should tell people about the dog.

The house is a treasure! Beautifully maintained heritage home, clean and comfortable. So lovely to visit. The house is right on the road, but we thought it was quiet and peaceful, and they offer earplugs if guests want them, but we thought it was absolutely fine. If you are cycling the T’Railway, this B and B is perfectly located, and they were very bike friendly, offering us secure bike storage. There’s a nice walk down to the water right across from the house. Our hosts were kind, helpful, delightful people and our homemade breakfast was incredibly delicious! Definitely visit this gem!!

The owners were so welcoming and friendly, gave us great information and directions to hiking trails, sites to see and what to expect along the way. The breakfast was exceptional, the owners provided a breakfast menu each day, all you had to do was select which option you prefer, the time you would be down for breakfast and they cooked it up for each guest. Can’t say enough about the great hospitality they showed to each and every guest. Best accommodation we stayed at, highly recommended.

Nothing, everything was good

The breakfasts were delicious! Pancakes with partridge berries!! Oatmeal with blueberries! Fantastic. But even better were the conversations with other guests and the hosts. We truly enjoyed that. Ask Greg to play a few tunes on the guitar! Plus they gave us a perfect itinerary for our visit.

Friendly and welcoming hosts Group breakfast to share travels

Greg and Lorraine were wonderful hosts with lots of ideas for things to see and stories about local history on the peninsula. Greg cooked wonderful Partridge Berry pancakes for us for breakfast. "The Captain's Quarters" was a cozy and warm room. The house is an old 2nd Empire structure which has been lovingly restored. We really enjoyed our stay and although the house is on the highway, we didn't hear any noise. Definitely 2 thumbs up!

L’endroit était impeccablement propre et l’accueil agréable. Le déjeuner était bon et fait maison. La maison est un peu vieillotte, mais bien entretenue. Il manquait toutefois quelques petites commodités comme une cafetière ou une bouilloire à même la chambre. Peu ou pas d’espace extérieur pour relaxer ou prendre un verre. L’emplacement m’a déçue : éloigné des principales attractions et peu de restaurants typiques à proximité.

Definitely not a good place to go. The owners tried to overcharge 230.00 on my credit card twice then a charge of 149.50 was on my credit card. it was a nonauthorize charge. Found out this after we have left once I had cell service to check on my credit card. When I saw this, I tried calling and they wouldn't answer so I used my husband's cell. The husband answered right away. He told me to talk to his wife who was suppose to call me but never did. I have tried calling multiple times but they wouldn't answer. Don't trust these people.

I would have liked to have a kettle available to boil water for tea or coffee in the evening without having to ask the host to boil water for us in their kitchen.

Right from the time we entered, we felt welcomed. The hosts were friendly and informative. The room was a good size, the beds were comfy and everything was super clean and well looked after.; Breakfasts were great. The garden was beautiful. We stayed for three nights and couldn't have wished for a nicer experience We recommend the Spaniards Room Heritage Home to anyone visiting the area.

We received a warm welcome from the proprietors in spite of the fact that we arrived early, and they were in the throes of vacuuming. They recommended an excellent local cafe for lunch, and later in the evening shared their outdoor space and conversation over a glass or two of wine. Thanks for a fabulous newfie welcome!

Noice of highway. They are marketing it as a heritage heritage and and have consequently filled it with too many trinkets ag objects that fill the needed space. Needs more power outlets

While we were wondering about the property because of initial perceptions that the exterior needed some attention, we could not have been happier with what we experienced, including very friendly hosts, a nice room and a very nice breakfast. We would highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful stay at The Spaniards Room. The hosts Greg and Lorraine were both very kind and welcoming. The home itself is gorgeous and filled with so much history. The sleeping area and bathroom were clean, spacious, and comfortable, with air conditioning and cable television provided. We cannot recommend this bed and breakfast enough for those visiting the area.

The accommodations were very comfortable and very spacious. The hosts were very friendly and ensured we had all the information we needed. Breakfast was absolutely awesome. I highly recommend this BnB to any traveller or just someone wanting a quick getaway.

Everything was awesome. The only thing I can comment on would be to have a small mini fridge in each room. This would allow guests to store fruit, pop, or even water, or medication. Other than that maybe some extra glasses and a coffeemaker with the appropriate supplies would be great. When you live in Newfoundland, got to have your cup of tea before bed. But frankly, this place is a gem. The history of the place is astounding and surrounds you from the displays of pictures, furniture, etc.

The room advertised a sea view but that is definitely a stretch. The room also did not have a lock on it which is the first time I've encountered this. I'm not questioning the hosts' honesty but there are other guests who could potentially have access to the room while away from it.

Lorraine was the perfect host. She gave us a warm welcome and was so helpful in planning our local outings and activities. The accommodation was beautiful, in a period house with memorabilia and comfortable furnishings. This is a great location for touring the Baccalieu Trail. Perfect for our needs.

Very cute home with such gracious, down to earth local hosts who not only welcomed us into their home, but gave us great ideas of where to go and what to do. Comfortable bed, clean sheets and towels, private bathroom, and a delicious breakfast. 10/10 would go again (and we did - booked an extra night because of how great our experience was).
