mainly everything: spa, romm, style, staff
the breakfast was a bit disappointing as the choice wasn’t too big and the pastries weren’t homemade. the quality was excellent though
The room was exceptionally spacious, with a lovely balcony and a beautifully designed bathroom. The front desk and concierge teams were outstanding: warm, efficient, and genuinely helpful. We also appreciated the complimentary car service to The Swiss House, including the pickup afterwards. The spa is the star of the hotel, with a large heated indoor pool and jacuzzi, bio sauna, Finnish sauna, brine steam bath, and steam room. Boris at The Lobby courtyard was also excellent, with great charisma, thoughtful local recommendations, and very good food suggestions.
While we enjoyed the food, the service at both The Restaurant and The Japanese did not quite match the exceptionally polished standard of the front desk, concierge, and Lobby teams.
Amazing Spa! Perfect whirlpools- perfect saunas and cold plunge - hotel is great
I think the menu for dinner is too sophisticated- I would prefer in addition some more basic food - good ingredients but less “wanna-be”

Amazing hotel and service. Ambience and setting were spectacular and world class spa and dining. Can’t wait to go back in winter
The Chedi Andermatt is without doubt a stunning hotel — beautiful architecture, impressive interiors, a luxurious atmosphere and exceptional attention to design. Visually, it certainly deserves its reputation. However, true luxury is not only about beautiful surroundings; it is also about how guests are made to feel. Unfortunately, the attitude of some members of the staff felt more superior than genuinely welcoming and service - oriented. In a hotel of this level, guests should experience warmth, attentiveness and hospitality rather than a sense of arrogance. A beautiful hotel with enormous potential, but the service culture should move from superiority to genuine hospitality. Sometimes, not all that glitters is gold.

De douche kop van het bad was stuk
We stayed as a family with two young children in an Alpine Deluxe Suite for two nights whilst travelling through Switzerland on a summer road trip. This review is very simple to write as the hotel was absolutely incredible. The building and facilities itself are stunning. There is an amazing pool and spa area - the pool is ridiculously big! The room itself was frankly enormous and sumptuous - we have stayed in many top end hotels such as Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental and this was up there as possibly the nicest room we have stayed in. Dining was very good - we didn’t have a chance to try the Michelin star Japanese restaurant but the main restaurant was great - the main menu is a ‘sharing’ tasting menu concept - if anything there was a bit too much food for my wife and I but the cuisine was excellent. Finally, the service from the hotel staff was fantastic - friendly, attentive and efficient - exactly what you want and would expect at a hotel of this level. My wife and I would definitely love to come back and stay, possibly in the Winter. The only one ‘area for improvement’ I would mention is that the hotel does not technically have air conditioning - I think this is something to do with Swiss laws and instead they have air vents with some form of cooling system which is not AC. We found the room in the summer to be a little warmer than we would ideally like and that is the only thing we could possibly fault the Chedi on.
Extraordinary hotel in all fronts! Great location, architecture, food, spa, room, views, and all the rest Beyond believe facility We had the times of our life’s and cant wait to be back this time during ski season! 6 stars Amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We did not have the pleasure of staying at The Chedi Andermatt, but we had an experience there that we will never forget. During our journey through Europe, we were running very low on battery in our electric car, and The Chedi was the only place nearby where we could find an EV charger. We were incredibly grateful that they kindly allowed us to use their charger, but their kindness went far beyond that. The staff welcomed us so warmly, brought us water, and invited us inside to wait in their beautiful and impressive lobby. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful. A luxury hotel of this standard could easily have said no, but instead they showed genuine kindness and hospitality. Even though we were not paying guests, we were treated with such warmth, care, and respect. The Chedi Andermatt is a truly stunning hotel, but what impressed us the most was the generosity and friendliness of the people who work there. Thank you so much for helping us when we needed it most. We hope to return one day – this time as actual guests.

We have now stayed at The Chedi Andermatt twice, in a two-bedroom suite, and it is with real regret that we write this. The building is lovely, the location superb, the rooms genuinely handsome. What is missing is the one thing a hotel of this price is actually selling: service. Last year our stay was ruined by construction directly beneath the windows. We gave the hotel a second chance this year, and asked — twice — whether there were any works around the property. Twice we received written confirmation, by email, that there were none. We were then placed, once again, in a suite facing an active building site directly in front of the window. The same failure, in the same circumstances, two years running. It is the management's conduct, however, that we find most telling. They appear content to economise conspicuously on their own guests — the maximum offered was 25%, in no way proportionate to a failure of this order — and seem unwilling even to apologise. To this day we have not heard a single word from the General Manager, who has, to all appearances, quietly excused themselves from the conversation altogether. A personal meeting was proposed; we declined it as pointless, given the tone in which we had been addressed and the way in which every substantive concern we raised was simply passed over. Beyond this, nothing functions. Room service cannot be reached and muddles orders; emails go unread unless one insists; the concierge was condescending and of no help whatever. The staff are outwardly charming but deliver nothing — they confirm and do not honour, promise and do not follow through. We have stayed in a great many five-star hotels and have never encountered anything approaching this at such a price point. A beautiful shell, with no hospitality inside it, and a management that appears to regard its guests as an inconvenience. We cannot, in good conscience, recommend it.
Von der ersten Minute sehr wohl gefühlt. Tolle Atmosphäre, sehr schöne Ausstattung, feines Essen.
Beautiful hotel that combines Swiss and Asian design elements. Staff were all very helpful and personally attentive. Every time I asked where a restaurant was, the staff personally escorted me to the venue. The rooms are massive and the bathrooms are very impressive in terms of size and amenities. I was really impressed the amount closet and drawer space. I could easily unpack a months worth of clothes although I only stayed for two nights. The bed is excellent and on par with a Four Seasons bed. The Japanese restaurant is very good and worth the two Michelin stars but definitely for a special occasion. The main restaurant is also excellent for both breakfast and dinner. I note the expansive and unique cheese room. The spa facilities and treatments are top notch and again thoughtfully blend European and Asian elements.
The Chedi is one of our favorite hotels in Switzerland! We love the beautiful rooms and the exquisite interior design in general. The gym is one of the best hotel gyms I know with the best equipment. The spa is beautiful. The staff is very helpfull and super fiendly everywhere. We loved the food in the restaurant. The Wagu Beef Asian style was delicious. And breakfast is wonderful too. Don't miss the cheese room!
While the property itself is beautiful, our experience during breakfast was deeply disappointing due to the catastrophic attitude of a server named Kitty. She made it obvious that serving us near closing time was a nuisance. Furthermore, despite clearly stating my dairy allergy, I was served regular milk. When corrected, she became defensive and turned the blame on me. This level of service is unacceptable for a luxury establishment.
Gorgeous hotel, beautiful room with fireplace and lovely living room and exquisite spa-type bathroom. The most interesting thing was the tablet that controls everything in the room. The bed was very comfy with a beautiful mural above the bed. I felt like a queen sleeping on that bed.
This was perhaps my best ever experience staying at this property, the food, the room, the spa, the service, the staff absolutely fantastic. It blew mw away. Yes it was expensive but you get more than your money's worth!! The rooms are well planned, looking at each detail. The property offered what it stands for the best Asian hospitality experience in a European setting. Would I recommend this experience -- absolutely a must do !
Really great hotel, very nice relaxed vibe. Seamless service, great location. Will be returning in the future for sure. Recommend trying the Japanese restaurant with the Sake pairing.
Incredible suites, splendid design, proper staff attitude. The breakfast and coffee were great, everything you can expect from that kind of hotel. The gym is top notch, and the spa area is gorgeous.
Unforunately althouh the hotel was on it's reopening day, many of the amenities were not accessible. The pool was cold, part of the spa were not usable and there was a slight sewer smell that i'm sure they must have solved by now. They also changed for a new erp that made the check in/check out process rather slow and a tablet we had to use to fill our data that wasn't convenient, not something you'd expect in that price range.
I have had the best time in Chedi Andermatt in March 2026. Everything from food, SPA to service was excellent. The design is very modern and I love the dark palate. One of my fave swiss resorts. We arrived by Glacier Express and the hotel is right next to the train station and right to Ski lifts, so perfect location.
So this is the gorgeous place everyone raves about. The Alpine hotel of many dreams. And I do not understand why. Location is OK, it's neither in the center of town nor next to the gondola, but distances are manageable. It's very spacious, and so are (parts of) the rooms. You can tell they spent a lot on decor - very instagrammable and quite aesthetically pleasing, But practical it is not. There is no walk path to the hotel, or they do not remove the snow on it. I could only find one restroom in the immense lobby and restaurant area, and it was oversized in space but undersized in usability (men queued in front of the 2 closed stalls). The ski room area is tiny and quite frankly messy, overlaps the bar area. There are queue barriers everywhere (destroying the elegance and never on the pictures). The restaurant for breakfast feels like an overcrowded cafeteria (again in the pictures the tables are arranged in a more pleasing fashion, but that cannot accommodate the crowd). Service is a bit rude in restaurants, and food is OK. The room is huge, but the luggage/wardrobe area is tiny and contrived (but pretty) -- as if couples were travelling with 1 handbag to a ski resort. The toilet door in the bathroom is half transparent. The shower is immense but the shower head on the far side. The mini bar area is impractical. But 12 people can comfortably sit around the low table in the bedroom - which I suppose is what mattered. Tiling was slippery in the otherwise rather nice spa. Who designed this place? Our room had the wrong cover for the (huge and comfy) bed, the white and blue pattern of the mattress was quite visible (in the otherwise earth/brown/dark theme) -- they cannot even maintain the decor. To be fair the staff tried their best to fix the issues we mentioned. This is a very, very expensive hotel, for average service in an average location and ridiculously low practicality.
EVERYTHING! Amazing property with excellent customer service.
The room, the Spa, the Japanese Restaurant
Lobby and reception area is quite small
Location top, Atmosphere unbeatable, Rooms spacious, Value $$$, Cleanliness 5 stars, Noise level ultra low, Service not from this world, Amenities a dream.

Hotel heeft update nodig. Als je eenpersoons dekbedden wilt krijg je dunne dekentjes. Dat kan echt niet!
Yeri mükemmel. Olanaklar harika. Odaları çok güzel. Herkes yardım sever.
The Chedi Andermatt is an incredibly sophisticated place. We didn’t stay overnight but went for tea time and it was simply magnificent. Yes, it’s on the pricey side but absolutely worth it for the refined atmosphere and outstanding service. The tea tray was exquisite, and we topped the experience off with a glass of champagne...just perfect. The different seating areas create a cozy, intimate feeling that makes it even more special. A must-go when in Andermatt.
We stayed here for three days. The skiing was good, the hotel is beautiful, but the service is poor. Especially in the bar, where ist very slow. I brought it up with the staff, but they weren’t very understanding. This is not what to expect from this kind of hotel. Don’t go, it’s not worth the money.
The Chedi Andermatt combines alpine charm with Asian inspired design, and the warm materials, mountain views, and peaceful spa area created a relaxing and high end mountain retreat.
- great place for families - very close to the main ski area with incredible ski butler service (private ski teacher picks up kids) - great food in “the restaurant”; particularly variety of choice for kids, sushi and incredibly fresh breakfast (Friday eve service was slow because place was packed; much better on Saturday with a very nice/attentive Italian server; she made the experience really special) - nice pool indoor & outdoor - comfortable room with sufficient space: kids beds on bench/sofa are ok (seen better solutions) - check in and valet were really smooth - undortunately a corporate even sent the hotel in “lock down” and guests were not really well informed (closing gates, not possible to return rented skis, bathroom not accessible post 12pm); very unfortunate because we felt comfortable but somehow not welcomed anymore on Sunday (some exceptions: very friendly guy at ski rental, server for breakfast) - only reason why this is not a 5* experience
The design and room was exceptional

The location
Unprofessional, some were not service oriented. My shower was broken and although I asked to repair it, still wasn’t done. Spa was nice yet far from what I expected from 5-star hotel on the mountain.
Fabulous hotel. Our ‘standard room’ was luxurious and packed with features and home comforts. Excellent spa and in/out pool. Excellent & free yoga classes with Sandra - very good for stretching after skiing. Ski Butler to help with kit, tuition, ski/boot care and ski area advice. Transport to/from Gemsstock lift, and to /from local restaurants. Location ideal: adjacent to the Gutsch gondola, Andermatt old town restaurants, and train station.
It was all great.
The Chedi Andermatt offers an exceptional blend of alpine charm and modern luxury. The attention to detail throughout the hotel is remarkable — from the beautifully designed rooms to the tranquil spa and outstanding dining experiences. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely made our stay feel special. The spa facilities and outdoor pool with snowy mountain views were truly unforgettable.
Honestly, there was very little to fault. Everything was extremely well managed and exceeded our expectations.
Incredible Hotel and facilities, the Chedi is a elegant, peaceful, and set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Swiss Alps, in few words is truly stunning hotel. Concierge, Restaurant, Room service and Spa staff were amazing. Special thanks to Salvarore ed Alessio, they took care of us the throughout our holiday. Room was huge with everything you would want and more, special the amenities. The Japanese restaurant was next level. We will of course be returning.
I stayed at The Chedi Andermatt on Tuesday, January 20th, for one night, and the experience was truly exceptional from start to finish. During our stay, we enjoyed dinner at the restaurant followed by a visit to the fumoir, which was the perfect way to end the evening in a refined and relaxing atmosphere. For dinner, we were warmly welcomed by Alessio, who took great care in arranging a beautiful table decorated with rose petals all around, creating a magical and romantic ambiance to celebrate my anniversary with my girlfriend. His attention to detail and genuine hospitality made the evening unforgettable. We chose the Asian tasting menu, accompanied by the wine pairing curated and served by Leo, the sommelier. The selection of wines was excellent and perfectly matched to each course, enhancing the flavors of the menu and elevating the entire dining experience. The following morning, my girlfriend and I enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant, where we found a rich and varied buffet offering both hot and cold dishes. Everything was of outstanding quality and beautifully presented. After breakfast, we checked out and then headed to the spa. We were welcomed by Priscilla, who kindly provided us with all the necessary explanations, and later guided by Antonio, a very professional and attentive staff member who accompanied us throughout our spa journey, ensuring a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience. Before leaving the hotel, we stopped by the lobby, where Davide welcomed us and prepared two excellent cocktails, allowing us to enjoy one last relaxing moment in a beautiful setting. From the very beginning until the end of our stay, the reception and concierge teams were outstanding — always professional, attentive, and genuinely helpful, making us feel truly cared for at every moment. Overall, The Chedi Andermatt exceeded all our expectations. Exceptional service, outstanding attention to detail, and a remarkable team made our stay memorable in every aspect. We will certainly return.

They respected our religious values in regards too the in Room service menu & the staff of the room service was exceptional especially SILVATORIE he was very helpful
Need more too offer Activities Around the town
It surpassed all of our expectations! Fabulous hotel, amazing facilities, great food, superb attention to details and the service is fantastic.
I literally can’t fault anything but if I am pushed then, well, the suits would benefit from a full length (or any) mirror by the door because at the moment you have walk all the way to the bathroom in your coats and boots.
Amazing, once in a lifetime type experience. High luxury resort with large room, beautiful public areas, relaxing SPA and wide selection buffet breakfast. Reserve for a special occasion.
Special thanks to Giuseppe and Davide at the lobby bar. Great guys, warm service and super professionals. It was a delighted to be assisted by them in such a beautiful establishment. Also, special mention to Megan, sommelier at The Restaurant. It’s wonderful to see a professional beautifully opening a great bottler of wine with class and a smile
its amazing place breathtaking

Tutto bellissimo!
Man sollte 18.30 oder 20.30 zum Dinner. Das ist wie Planwirtschaft und in dieser Preislage doch befremdlich. Personal sollte Deutsch können. Wir sind in der Schweiz.
I stayed here 3 nights, a couple of days ago. I have a list of 5 star hotels that I wanna visit (it's a hobby, although an expensive one ;-) ), and this was on it, so I came here just to expericience the hotel. Rooms: I was in room 1503. Although I booked a standard room, the room is huge ànd gorgeous. I love the warm wood, the balcony, the bathroom, the huge shower... I love the 'chalet style' design, simply because it fits here. Breakfast: very very very good! Restaurant: had dinner in the main restaurant twice. Loved the multi course menu. Was very good. Restaurant The Japanese: had dinner here on my third night. Is was very calm, only 5 guests. But service was impeccable. Maybe the courses were given a bit too fast: I entered at 19.30 and was finished at 21.30. I rather would have 'made an evening out of it'. I had some delicious champagne, and then (as i don't drink much alcohol) I had the tea pairing. Was very cool! Loved it. Wellness: well.... this is gonna be a bit more difficult. Let me first say: I love the swimmingpool, the gym, ... it all looks amazing. But then there is the wellness area itself: the sauna's, steamrooms, jacuzzi's,... All look amazing! But I was amazed that most people wear swimwear. We are in the European region (ok, Switzerland is not Europe but you know what I mean), and here we don't wear clothing in a sauna! I checked with reception, and it was perfectly fine to ditch the swimwear in this (16+) area. But: in reality the mix between clothed people and nude people does not work. Although I covered my private parts in the sauna with a towel (as I always do) I got a rude comment from another (clothed) guest and his wife and they left immediately, and looked at me like I was a pervert. The second day, I was having a nice chat with a german lady in the sauna, who had her towel below the waist, but not the upper part. We were having a friendly chat, but then another man entered in swimwear, and he couldn't keep his eyes of her breasts. It made her feel very uncomfortable logically, so she left. In short: I get that you as a hotel want to keep all the guests happy, that includes the people form the USA and people from Muslim countries. But: one adapts to the location where one travels. In Europe, we don't wear swimwear in a sauna or a steamroom. The mix, simply makes both parties uncomfortable. The least you can do is put up a (big) sing, next to the 16+ sing, saying nudity is normal behind these doors. So at least people don't look at us Europeans as perverts. Some things I specifically liked: - As said the big but very cosy rooms - The overall interior and design of the hotel - The huge lobby - They were just hanging artwork in the lobby when I arrived, paintings on fabric, loved it!!! - That inside your room, you can see the outside temperature. Nice touch so you know how to dress! - Have I mentioned the Cheese Tower??? They have a f*cking CHEESE TOWER!!!! Loved it!! And the gentleman who arranged may cheese platter, was a very kind person! - And of course: the very very very handsome voiturier with beautiful eyes and a very sexy smile. What an incredibly warm welcome I experienced!!! I got so lost in his eyes, I almost forgot in which country I was. And my name is difficult, but he made remember it and greeted using my name every time. That guy has the 5 star mentality. Love him!!! Can you send him to Belgium? Things I would change if I'd be in charge: - As said: the wellness policy about clothing - A standard kettle in the rooms for tea, and white cups: I love the black RAK porcelain coffee cups, but not very practical for tea, as you simply cannot sea the color (and thus strength) of your tea. - the lighting in the elevators: the architect did a wonderful job, but here he screwed up: the led lighting in the elevators make your skin look so grey that it looks like you were stuck in a gletsjer for 15 years and just been brought back to defrost. - At the pool: standard lay menus on the side tables at the lounging beds, so it’s a bit faster / easier to order. - Sometimes it was hard to find a place free at the pool, even as it was very calm in the hotel. Will I be back? DEFINITELY! If only to see those eyes and smile of the voiturier again!
