As a loyal customer of IHG. I took a personal trip to Chengdu with my kid and booked 3 nights for a twin bed. Due to some conference Crowne Plaza Chengdu West called me that due to some reason they said upgrade me to a suite at club floor. Upon check in I told them I wanted a twin bed as the suite only one king size bed. So they said can setup small bed. On day 1 went to the club lounge without any trouble. And also the 2nd day morning for breakfast. Only on 2nd day evening when I tried to enter the club lounge I was asked to pay for the service. I showed to the staff Ms Ding on my reservation that I should entitled club floor access. But Crowne Plaza West insist my upgrade to club floor not subject to club lounge. To me what the hotel put in writing also can denied responsibility. I will say I have no trust in this hotel. I hope IHG can put the management of Chengdu West in order.
The staff was excellent. They went above and beyond to make my family and I feel welcome. The rooms were nice, but some aspects felt past their prime. While the room was non-smoking, there was a lingering smell of smoke in some areas. The hotel is well away from the city center and required a long walk to get to any food options. However, it was very convenient for our trip out of Xipu Station.
Shower stall was very moldy (black) and the carpet was full of stain. Smelled like beer.

city vicinity clean and safe
big hotel, not many English speaking staff which is typical for this area. Great location for travel though. The hotel is business orientated, it is huge, it is very clean and is in a good location around a 5-10 minute walk to various shops, restaurants and a metro station.
Excellent hotel at a good price (western standards). Hotel is very modern, clean. Rooms are spacious, modern and high quality. Breakfast buffet was outstanding, with extensive selection.Highly recommend.
I work for one of the nearby semiconductor manufacturing companies. We have found that you can stay in the Chengdu City Center and have a lot of things to do on the weekend, but have a long drive in the Chengdu traffic every morning and evening (45 min to an hour each way) to get to work. Though not a lot to see around Chengdu West, the food is great, the trip to work is short, and the City Center is only 100 RMB away (~$13 by Taxi). AND the hotel is great!!!. The buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner are great, have a wide variety, and are affordable. Should you choose to go out for dinner, the choices are many, varied, and low priced. There are several malls in the area that have well respected restaurants and I recommend a good Hot Pot house. All of the service people in the hotel were great and helped us find several restaurants and places to visit. They called Taxi's for us and told them where to take us and assisted with using the meter or not. The only thing that kept the score from being a 5 was the pool was being repaired and out of service the entire time we were there. It did not appear to have any workmen attending it the entire time we were there either. So not sure how ong it will be this way.
The hotel has excellent facilities like a swimming pool and a well equipped gym. The only downside is that the exterior part of the hotel was undergoing some road work and renovation. There was no proper signage on the way to access the hotel. As the entrance is on the second floor, the path to get to the lobby is not clearly labelled and I had to travel a fair distance to get to the lobby. It was inconvenient when I had a luggage to lug. A few days before I checked out, the road to access the lobby was sealed off and again no access sign was placed to guide the hotel guests to access the main road. I think the hotel needs to be pre-emotive in ensuring that signage is clearly placed to guide the exit and entrance into the lobby from the main road. The staircase also need to be lit properly. On the night when the earthquake tremor was felt, I could not access the ground floor using the staircase because it was poorly lit.
단순 출장지 숙박으로는 괜찮아요
I have stayed here at the Chengdu West Crowne plaza several times over the last few years (all work relatable trips) I found that on my more recent trip the staff were much more accommodating, very aware of English and being able to help and support guests with any issues. This hotel is used by a lot of people and many spaces are used for external hire such ad the ballrooms. It can get very busy and as a hotel guest you sometimes do not feel that you are perhaps the priority. (on night i was unable to dine at the garden restaurant and eat the buffet as t had been changed in accommodating a large company) However I must say that there are several members of staff who do go above and beyond and also recognize loyal and returning guests. Evelyn who works in the restaurants says good morning every day and knows what coffee drink I would like. She is very polite and ensure her guests have the best service. I also met and was introduced to CiCi Zhong (Guest relation officer) SHe noticed that I was a regular guest and wanted to make herself and her services known. She ensured she found me almost everyday as I was leaving or returning from work to say HI, she wanted to make sure my room was perfect and that anything I requested could be dealt with. She even went as far as greeting me with a fruit basket and personal card just to ensure I had a warm and welcome stay. A very honorable member of staff and again her english is excellent so is very supportive. The hotel is business orientated, it is huge, it is very clean and is in a good location around a 5-10 minute walk to various shops, restaurants and a metro station.
とても快適なホテルですが、周りに店が何も無いので、車がないと厳しいと思います。

big hotel, not many English speaking staff which is typical for this area. Great location for travel though. the rooms were a bit small, should of upgraded when given the opportunity. lots of restaurants (as long as you like hotpot) withing walking distance and a great shopping mall accross the road.
服務好,早餐菜色多樣,房價稍貴了一點,但還可以接受。
Very comfortable hotel, large clean rooms with bathtub and shower;excellent breakfast with a full offer of European and Chinese food. Shame I could not try the indoor pool. Just a negative note: not all the staff speak english
This place is not in the city more of a business hub. The room was huge bed so comfortable had a great nights sleep. The bathroom was amazing so clean but door would not close was stuck. Was to late to walk somewhere for dinner so we had room service but did have to go to reception to order as did not understand us on the phone and had point at what we wanted but did get what we order and it was delicious. Great mix of western and asian food for breakfast and good coffee. Next night did go for a walk and was a nice area to walk around

Returning to this hotel another time, I have to admire the collective will of the team to offer services and hospitality. The executive club lounge is well equipped with a very friendly team. All girls are very and friendly, willing to help. Only disappointment is the unique rule that a Spire Elite Member with executive privilege doesn’t enjoy the usual one hour free meeting room, unlike in many other Crowne Plaza. The team shows zero flexibility, embarrassing their guest for begging for a favor. Following rigid and some times unfriendly standard procedure might be an easy solution, but offers no charm of hospitality on common-sense. The gym is great, but locker room is rather dirty and not tidy, thanks to many outside visitors. Breakfast in coffee shop is great, so in the executive lounge. This is definitely the best business hotel in Chengdu West.
The hotel felt luxurious & it was well maintained. Room was large & comfortable. Breakfast spread was quite good. Overall a pleasant stay.
another late check in and again this was seamless (thanks to our tour guide) . the theme of places in china is the english is rudimentary - crowne plaza is an international name and i did expect a little more understanding especially when trying to order drinks at the bar!!! a feat! we ordered from the room service menu - fresh tasty and delicious. the bedroom is huge and beds comfortable - room temp a pleasant level. bathroom again had a large bath with privacy screen - this let down our room as this was loose and didn’t come down properly - the paint work in this area also looked like it needed some tlc ! the shower was great, and plentiful products - just didn’t appear as nice as previous hotels. breakfast buffet - delicious and too many options to choose! highly recommended - but more of a leisurely breakfast was able to be had. highly recommend - small convenience store at bottom of drive and a macdonalds about 500m down the road (if that’s what your heart desires!) would stay here again
Clean room, OK breakfast.
This hotel is located conveniently close to the Panda Research base. That does mean that it is not downtown. It serves mainly Chinese tour and business groups. The meal services are set up as buffets. We did not try the steak restaurant. The food is plentiful and quite good. Some of the dishes are excellent but overall the food is in the good to very good category. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Staff in all the hotels I have been in in China have been friendly and helpful but this place probably outshone the others on that aspect. It's a little strange that there is nowhere to sit in the lobby. Apparently the public used to come in and sit to enjoy the air conditioning and so they solved that problem by simply removing all the chairs. So if you are waiting for your group there's almost no where to sit. The rooms are quite large. The bed was excellent. The room service is outstanding. This is
Would rate this hotel as 4.5 star. Our room number was 320, which had a patio where one could hold a party. Unfortunately the patio was extremely dirty and the plants were dying from lack of water. There is a king sized bed and a dream bathroom with bath, separate shower and toilet, with dual basins. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice of both Chinese and western. The restaurant serves a buffet or alcarte, both of which are top quality. Staff have limited English.
It’s been a long time since I have been in China. This “international” hotel is painful if u r a true foreigner. Of which there r few here. Even the Indian bloke at the front desk looked like a shell shocked WWII prisoner when I spoke English to him. Asked him about finding a SIM card. Of course. He was 100% wrong. Language. Well. U can guess. Staff r rudimentary English at best. Food is Chinese even at the Western buffet. Service consists of “find a staff”. They r clearly well trained at avoidance. Plus side. U can drink Chinese wine and eat local noodles for 20USD. 🙄 Room looks nice. But heck. In China everything “looks” nice. Crown Plaza whored it’s name out and this is what u get.
I have stayed in this hotel twice (May 2015 and June 2018) and both times my stay was perfect. I chose this hotel because I was in Chengdu for a business trip and, this place, was very close to my company. Rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. Room service was efficient and all the staff was available to satisfy all my needs. I also exploited several time the internal gym, which was not so big, but well equipped for a quick training (that t is what you need), when you are abroad for business. I had several times dinner at the main restaurant, as well, and buffet was every time rich and delicious. There, you can taste both typical Sichuan kitchen and international. If I had to find a weakness for this hotel, I just would say that it is rather far from Chengdu city center.... You need to do like 12 underground stops to get to Tianfu square.

This is my second trip Chengdu and as a work trip I am always put up in the same hotel. The crown plaza is a huge international hotel that offer a stay for both business and tourist alike. Now visiting this hotel for the second time as with future visits planned already I must say that it is extremely difficult at times with lithe language barrier and just general requests are often hard work. Examples include trying to order a coffee at breakfast, explaining that you want to book a taxi and even trying to gain access to the gym in unsocial hours (this requires an attendnet to open the door for you but when I asked the receptionist took my room key and just reactivates my room key 🤦🏻♂️). All in all this is a good hotel and the rooms are incredible spacious and comfy. I feel that with the influx of international businesss travellers passing through this hotel that the overal language should improve to become much more accommodating.
Check in procrss wad quick and efficent. I have received a nice room wide and spacious .shower with big shower head. Regular selection of western tv channels. Good gym and swimming pool. Breakfast is really good.
Good service, and good in room service menu, with plenty of food choices and not expensive. If you arrive at night and wanted some food in your room, you can order. The room was nice and good for the night rest.
Crowne Plaza Chengdu West: Starting from airport, The local taxi fare from airport to here will cost about RMB50 as taxi needs to charge 50% more when it enters this area (Pi Xian) where it’s different from the airport (Shuang Liu). As a result, the taxi can’t take passenger from this area back to airport (Shuang Liu). About 30-40mins ride. Upon arrival, The lobby is very beautiful with a high open ceiling and check in is fast. There’s welcome drinks near the counter which is simple and nice. The room is big and there’s a round table instead of the usual straight ones... lots of tv channels but some channel signal are not so clear. The bathroom is big with a tub and standing shower, and there’s lots of space. The bed is comfy but the blanket down seems to be polyester which is very warm even if I turn the aircon temp down. On 1st night, I woke up a few times to try to control the aircon down to a lower temp. The 2nd night was better so maybe just need to get used to polyester blanket. Breakfast spread is good and lots of choice. There’s noodle and sushi counter so good spread. Mostly business traveler I see so suggestion that hotel may want to stream TV business channel. Outside the hotel there’s some good food outlet and even a McDonald about 200m away along HuiChuan street if u want to walk. There’s a good gym and indoor pool that can be used. Spa pricing is a bit steep I feel but the facilities looks very well touched up. The bar has a pool table but it’s quite empty when I was there. I checked out the Holiday Inn next door as both hotels are linked and this hotel beats it in Ambiences and layout. Overall, can’t beat the good price level of less than RMB$650 per night. I will come again.
Hotel doesn’t care about guests thoughts. Management always hides in office and asks new staff to take care of guests complaints and suggestions. They say they value top tier IHG club members but their actions don’t match what they say. Hotel facilities are top of the notch but at the end of the day it’s the service that counts. Unfortunately, front office staff are poorly trained to communicate with guests, instead of showing sympathy and compassion, their only response is trying to avoid responsibility. I mean for motel standards, there’s nothing to complain, but for an international brand icon, they need serious improvements. A lot of IHG properties do not upgrade their Spire members to suites, I had no problem. But upon communicating with front office staff of this particular property, i can feel there’s no training, they just wouldn’t listen to you and keep memorizing their standard lines. For people who want to experience what a CP in China feels like, it’s not a bad choice. But for business travelers especially those with high membership expectations, avoid this property.
1) English language skill can be improved 2) Service (waiting time for food to be served) can be improved. Overall, a good stay.
It is a nice hotel to stay in
Booked for 8 nights for our sons wedding, pleasant staff, clean, spacious rooms. Breakfast was excellent, indoor pool was fine apart from an odd odour and having to wear a swimming cap! Close to Walmart and local shopping centre with plenty of restaurants to choose from. Transport via subway close and simple to get to Global Centre for an amazing day of shopping and entertainment.
Hotel is well managed, it’s team well trained, staffs highly motivated and facility well maintained, definitely in a upward development, since it’s opening few years ago. Always standing up and greeting with a smile, upon a guest approaching, staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. Club fulfills its promise. Chinese restaurant offers very good Sichuan food , while the coffee shop a lavish buffet. Gym and pool are great, well maintained and equipped. Only men’s locker room seems to be poorly organized, offering not best impression. This is the best business hotel in the west side of the city. Too many noisy tour groups would not help. I hope that the management can keep the today’s positive trend for many coming years.
Front desk checking in did not see to needs and request of guests despite repeated reminders. Just turn a deaf ear and allocate twin bedroom on different floor for two rooms when we booked and paid for King bedroom. Most unsatisfactory.
This is a beautiful hotel with very helpful staff. The "single" beds are actually queen size so there is plenty of room for 4 in a room. Although the hotel is not downtown, it is walking distance to a street full of restaurants (especially hot pot restaurants, for which Chengdu is famous) and shops. We were in Chengdu to see the panda research center at Wolong and our guide suggested this hotel as it is located near the freeway and cut an hour off of our drive to the panda research center, allowing us to get there ahead of the crowds. It was an excellent suggestion. I would recommend this hotel to anyone not wanting to stay in downtown Chengdu.
Very nice hotel in Chengdu
