Good food Very dog friendly
Great staff, wecoming and friendly. Delicious food
Nothing
Beautiful hotel and pub, very cosy. The manager was so friendly and welcoming. The stay was just perfect. I would highly recommend.
Nothing
The neighbouring Tudor house.
That ALL windows were sealed. Unacceptable if I can't open a window. The mold in the shower room&dirt on carpets everywhere...NOT GOOD FOR ASTHMATIC CUSTOMERS! Unprofessional treatment of staff Missing remote control for the TV No Food on Mondays&Tuesdays also it was advertised Trying to find somewhere to eat because MONDAYS SEEMS TO BE EVERYTHING CLOSED...BE AWARE IF THAT!! Read the info in booking com CAREFULLY AND PAY ATTENTION TO THE DETAIL!!! The loud throbbing music til late evening.
Amazing, friendly, helpful staff team - meant whole stay had such a nice vibe. Thank you!
Családias, nagyon kedvesek voltak.
Minden rendben volt.
The George Inn was really comfortable. The room was really spacious, interiors are cosy, the breakfast was exceptional. We also had a meal in the restaurant in the evening and the food and staff were amazing.
The only small downside was the emergency lighting was very bright at night
Very good full english breakfast and lovely manager!
Rooms are very small, but really didn't mind as it is an old building, built with small rooms. It added to the character.
Location was perfect less than a mile from where we needed to be the following day. We arrived after 9pm but still had a warm welcome and enjoyed a few drinks in the bar. All the staff were amazing. We will certainly stay here again in the future.
The room was clean and fresh but the decoration was just getting a bit tired, however this did not affect our stay in any way and is more an observation rather than a dislike.
.staff were busy but dealt with my enquiry
There was a mix up with the booking.com system and the George Inn so I was told just the night before that I didn't have a room booked
Quaint
Bathroom needs a little up dating but we’re guessing that’s on the agenda
The staff were lovely and the food was good
Our room was very comfortable but the soap and hand cream was not working properly as it needed filling. The bin in the bathroom had not been emptied for a while. The outside windows were very shabby
Lovely old pub ,food Excellant Staff very helpful and friendly
Room needed a bit of refurbishment
Lovely characterful property, clean and comfortable, with a really comfy bed and everything I needed for my stay.
The place is lovely and old. Food was nice I had fish and chips. Cocktails were a good deal on them during week. Breakfast nice but need a bigger toaster.
Bedroom bed was a four poster. But a one that didn’t suit room really. Just get a lovely big bed nice headboard. Needs new carpet and blackout blinds. Shower room needs an overhaul completely. New tiles especially and could do a walk in big shower. Asked for an extra pillow which I didn’t get. Needs two pillows on bed rather than just one. Room needs TLC and designer in. I know it’s an old hotel. But it could be beautiful if designed right.
The area was lovely, the bed was really comfortable.
It could have done with a good hoovering.
The George is a lovely old quirky pub,in a pretty village & quiet location. The staff were all very friendly & efficient. Harry the manager I think ,was very helpful ,& friendly. He gave us really good directions to a place we wished to visit, after we returned to the pub, after getting lost on the way on a very hot day, found it no problem then. Our room was very comfortable & clean, with a nice view over the garden. It was hot weather so we spent a lot of time in the beer garden, nicely shaded with a lot of benches, tables & chairs.Breakfasts & evening meals were excellent with good choices, breakfast had a buffet style option as well as lovely cooked hot options. Would definitely stay again.
It’s an old pub, maybe a bit of refreshing up in parts, but nothing major.
Attractive and quiet village location, large well furnished bedroom with comfortable bed. Nice bar and dining area. Pleasant helpful staff. Robertsbridge is an historic village with a shop, cafes and an excellent Indian restaurant.
The separate en-suite shower room and wc/ wash basin rooms were small.
Breakfast was fantastic. Various choices from a menu including full cooked breakfast, eggs Benedict, eggs royale etc. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Shower room was a little tired and could do with a refresh.
It’s was gorgeous
The grudge didn’t work
A beautiful old inn in a quiet, pretty village. We were so pleased to find a large car park upon arrival. This is always a concern when choosing somewhere to stay on our travels. The food was delicious, both at dinner & breakfast. Staff very welcoming.
We had an extra charge to our dinner bill, which surprised us. We were told it was VAT. There was no wording about it on the menu. We would prefer greater transparency about this. I mentioned this in private feedback to the restaurant two weeks ago, but have had no response. The pull cord for the light in the bathroom was stained, maybe it could do with being replaced
We thought the meals we had there were very good.
We felt for the price that the room was very small. My sister had also paid the same price and the difference was very noticeable. I also felt that the room and bathroom needed an update.
Loved location, staff, hotel, food
Loved it all - joked about those BELLS
Beautiful 16th century building full of charm and character with a lovely outside garden. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was faultless with great service. Very clean room and comfortable and well wouldn't hesitate to return.
Bathroom was outdated but that wasn't a real issue although some issues like rough and peeling paint could be easily rectified to give a smoother fresher look.
The room was large and the bed huge & very comfortable. Everything was very clean. Staff were lovely Breakfast and evening meal both good The room was very quiet despite being above a bar area.
The window in the bedroom was very difficult to open so we didn't bother. The room was not provided with a wi fi code. A member of staff did find one but if did not seem to work. The staff were good but the venue did seem understaffed in the evening and we had quite a wait of our meal - although did get a free drink because of that. Very small point - pillows should have an under pillow case.
The George is a charming village Pub in the heart of Robertsbridge, with a great deal of character. There is a small car park and additional free parking in the high street, if full. The location is perfect for a visit to Sarah Raven's Garden. We had the most welcoming reception from Freddy, who was super friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. The room( Pooke) was spacious and had a very comfortable bed and extremely comfortable pillows and the added benefit of a sofa. The linen was crisp and spotless. The shower, though small, was very clean and effective. High quality towels and a selection of small toiletries were provided. In view of the recent heatwave, the provision of the fan was most welcome. The restaurant food was of a high standard and delicious!
Nothing
Fantastic breakfast choices. Beautiful location in the heart of the village. Wonderful friendly staff. Not overpriced. Love that they had thought of everything, outdoor games in the beer garden and a selection of board games inside
Hearing the church bells throughout the night!
Staff were so kind and helpful.
The staff were really polite and helpful and the food was really good
The property could do with a bit of an upgrade in certain areas then I would have given it excellent to all previous questions
Very good breakfast. Free onsite parking.
At check in, please tell guests about the church bells ringing at 4am. I didn’t know about the tradition. They woke me at 4am and completely spooked me, so couldn’t go back to sleep, which rather spoiled the rest of my day! I wouldn’t stay there again for that reason.
Food very good. Nice beer garden, staff efficient and friendly.
Room very tired and small.Toilet seat very thin plastic. Needed redecorating.
Excellent breakfast and service. Location was superb as were staff.
Picturesque old pub with excellent facilities and lovely staff!
Very good stop on a cycle tour; nice room, lovely pub, good food and secure bike storage 🙂
Food good, one evening meal really nice ( gnocci in fab blue chhese sauce), the other ok ( goats cheese straight out of the fridge so tasteless). Staff friendly.
Standard of room poor and cleanliness not great. Loads of dust on fan, mouldy grouting in shower and really poor grouting in whole bathroom...dark grey, cream , yuk. Wallpaper peeling. Not decorated in a long time.
Staff ambience environment food
Nothing really. Location suited us well en route but a bit off the beaten track for some perhaps.
Sehr nettes Team, sehr gutes Essen, typisches altes englisches Haus, sehr gute Bar und tolle Atmosphäre
Im Hochsommer ohne Klimaanlage sehr warm im Zimmer. Bad und Toilette sehr klein. 5 Sterne stimmen nicht , 3 Sterne passen
Fantastic service, breakfast was amazing. Room was excellent with individual milk bottle instead of uht cartoon milk Staff very friendly and helpful
Nothing I loved it all
Breakfast average but inexpensive
Didn’t know that no food on Monday night!! So had to go without dinnet
Lovely place, with easy access for Cotswold distillery. Food and drinks both for dinner and breakfast were great and on the whole good value too.
Would have been useful to be pre warned about the historic church bells which whilst lovely, did wake us all up at 4am.
Wonderful stay
The food and friendly staff. Comfortable bed, slept well.
Other guests letting their doors slam, not the staffs fault.
It was in the right area for our needs. The staff were lovely. The meals were good and the pub was the centre point of the village looking down the high street.
No air conditioning but fan was provided in the bedroom. Too hot in the pub lounge and dining room but was an extremely hot week. Monday and Tuesday the dining room was closed for evening meals but an excellent restaurant was suggested to us.
Bathrooms need attention and cobwebs around windows
Garden furniture cleaned More chairs in garden Play equipment for kids
Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very well prepared and presented. Nice fluffy towels
Bathroom was a bit "tired"
We enjoyed our stay at the George very much. We and our two whippets were made very welcome in every way. We thought the dinner and the breakfast were excellent and all to a high standard! Also it was so good having glass tumblers and a glass bottle of water in our room, instead of plastic cups!! We would to come again.
Staff were great. Helpful and welcoming. Food was good too.
Property is in a poor condition. Beds were narrower than 3' and slid off twice in the night. Room was cramped and the bathroom was poor at best for the money.
Friendly staff , excellent location. Food first class.
We learnt the pub is due a make over very soon . It will look fantastic once competed. What an assest to the village.
Lovely staff...especially Jess. Dinner was amazing as was breakfast. Everything cooked fresh. The garden was an added bonus. X
Loved the area. Very quiet. Food was excellent. Compliments to the chef!
Room was a bit on the small side but for what we paid it was ok for one night.
The room was immaculate and the bed was very comfortable. The welcome was warm and friendly and the food and drink were both first class.
We had a room on the front and were disturbed by the church clock ringing at 4.00am, to summon the farmers, an old tradition. The breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty, however the chef did not start until 8.30am which meant we were behind schedule for an appointment. The proprietor I feel should consider starting breakfast from 8.00am.
Staff very friendly Food very good. Bathroom in our room needed to be finished. New bathroom suite with nice metro tiles. BUT paintwork had not been done and the floor looked like it needed a good scrub. £50 and 2 hours work would make all the difference.
Bathroom not up to standard. Needed a good coat if paint.
Great room - big, comfortable and stylish
Only they weren’t serving food in the evening on a Tuesday - but wasn’t really a problem.
Breakfast was good the room was hot and couldn’t open one of the windows. Disappointed that the bar closed at 8pm!
The bar closing so early. No air conditioner
The pub is in a lovely village. The evening and breakfast staff were exceptional and very helpful and friendly. We stayed in 5 accommodations in our 8 day visit to the area and without doubt the breakfast was the best. Although we only stayed 1 night we had a very pleasant time at The George, Lower Brailes
We wish we had stayed longer to enjoy some of the inns events
Friendly staff, helpful at breakfast when we wanted leave early for F1
Lovely beer garden, the inn has lots of character, nice bar area, cosy dining room, excellent food at both breakfast and dinner.
It's a shame that the inn closes early on a Sunday evening. We understand that they've been serving lunches all day and into the early evening, but the bar closing at 8pm on Sunday night is not great for guests staying for a long weekend. We went into Banbury and had a great night out there instead.
Staff all very friendly. Food was exceptional both for dinner and breakfast. All areas were dog friendly.
A little more choice for continental breakfast. Fresh fruit, and another juice than just orange.
Staff welcome was great and very friendly. Everything well explained. Easy to find by postcode. Room spacious with good facilities. Good beer selection.
Unfortunately, evening food unavailable Mon, Tues as the Inn is very quiet.
In the crazy heat the staff were brilliant. Always cheerful and put themselves out to help us have the best stay possible in 36 degrees C.
Room was amazing. comfortable and very spacious Staff helpful and friendly. Range of pulled beers good. Rum choice good. Good location.
Menu choice for dinner was extremely limited.
The staff were friendly and courteous and exceptionally polite at all times. The food was tasty and well presented. The beer garden was lovely and cool in the heat. The rooms were well presented and clean and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was well positioned for areas we wanted to visit in the Cotswolds. Well done Jess and team 😁
Emergency light in room was too bright but also needed for security so not really a complaint.
clean, friendly, quiet location, good meals with a good selection on the menu, overall very happy stay.
narrow beds
The property is beautifully kept with a lovely garden which was perfect on the hottest day of the year
Everything
Clean(spotless)
Lovely staff, fantastic situation to explore Cotswolds wonderful food and drink
Would have liked fridge in room but we did visit during heatwave in June
The room itself had lots of character and the welcome that we had was very warm. Quick response to needing a lightbulb changing. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant on the second night – which was very convenient.
The hallway to our room was quite cluttered. It was also hard to keep windows open to allow the room to ventilate – which made us a little bit stuffy. The towel rail was very high in the bathroom making it very difficult to reach and to use.
Everything was perfect
Nothing
The food was phenomenal. The George is the center of good people in Robertsbridge uk
Lovely room with a view. Very comfortable bed. Full English breakfast which was delicious.
Good location guy or the Cotswolds
Lovely old property in a truly authentic setting
I have stayed here a few times, the building and rooms are classical and comfortable, but the bar and staff are fresh and energetic. Highly recommend the food, good beer and wine selection, very dog friendly (usually at least one knocking about)
Friendly staff and locals
Given keys to room and not made up from previous guests. Next night room done but last night not cleaned or bed made
Friendly staff. large room, clean, with some nice original features and a large bed. great location to head off to national trust places. Free car parking
The service charge for dinner and breakfast in a pub given that we were guests seemed inappropriate! Just a way to rinse guests for a few more pounds. No nice games to play. Photos do not match the reality. Food presented in a silly way.
Jess is an asset to the George and she leads an excellent friendly team of staff. The breakfast was excellent and the food served in the restaurant superb! Lots of parking and good location to explore the Cotswolds!
Traditional , old ,characterful village pub with good parking on site and lovely beer garden . Food was exceptional and also catered well for gluten free . Breakfast also tasty and plentiful with a good choice of cooked food . Room was cosy and comfy with a cafetière and fresh ground coffee provided . Church bell did wake us a few times as it chimed hourly but this would not stop us from staying again .

Lovely garden traditional old fashioned pub
Bathroom needs attention
Location Staff Real milk in room fridge!

Terrible choice of music which was played from 08.30 and could be heard everywhere including the rooms as it is an old building
dit overnachtingsadres lag zeer gunstig ten opzichte van de tuinen die ik wilde bekijken
warmte op de kamer
Food was amazing need to make the menu a little more accessible for fussy folk lol Room was ok a little tired in places bathroom needs an upgrade Plenty of parking grounds were nice Evening staff need were ok but a little obnoxious and need to to not be so full of it 😬 Overall good value for money and a good location
Food was fantastic
Quite 'tight' bedroom n en suite
