Een comfortabele, mooie kamer, van alle gemakken voorzien, met een geweldig bed en superfijne douche, een overheerlijk ontbijt met onder andere een omelet van kakelverse eieren van de eigen kippen, en een prachtige tuin. En gezellige, geïnteresseerde gastheren!

Exceptional hospitality, clean room, delicious breakfast, beautiful garden

We decided on the spur of the moment to spend a night in Genelle and were really surprised by the fantastic accommodation. The rooms were air-conditioned, clean and beautifully furnished. In the evening, we were able to sit out in the beautiful, well-tended garden and play cards with our children. The next morning, we were served a delicious breakfast with homemade waffles and fruit from the hosts’ own garden. We had a lovely chat with our two hosts.

We are repeat guests of Genelle House. We love the location - quiet and conveniently located between Trail and Castlegar/Nelson. We spend time in the area fishing, visiting local sites (Ainsworth, Nelson, etc) and with family/friends. Gordon and Todd are super - even allowing us to stay an extra 2 days on short notice. The breakfasts are awesome - homemade and ingredients from their own property. PS The beds are comfy too!

Beautiful setting. The garden is magnificent . So many flowers , veggies and fruit. The fruit salad at breakfast all came from the garden.very clean accommodations . Great hosts

Breakfast was beatifully prepared from fresh eggs from the henhouse and fruit and herbs from the garden. Very nicely presented.

Only if we could have stayed longer

Wow!! What an incredible hidden gem!! The house, furnishings, garden and the hosts are absolutely amazing! If you are planning on being in Trail or Castlegar, the 20 minute drive to stay here is worth it. Very little train or car noise, no horrendous plump mill or smelter smells. It’s wonderful!!!

Nicely appointed in quiet setting. Lovely garden. Super friendly hosts provided outstanding breakfast with homemade bread and condiments. Despite hot weather our room was cool without any air conditioning noise due to excellent ventilation infrastructure.

The breakfast and conversation were excellent! The back yard was so beautiful and peaceful. I wish we had more time to sit and enjoy nature and hear the birds sing.

Quiet location and the property is so beautifully landscaped and cared for. Our hosts were very welcoming and the suite had everything you could need. Plus, the craftsmanship of all the built-ins and furniture was incredible. And the breakfast was out of this world! Everything homemade and beautifully presented and 5-star delicious. This stay was truly a highlight of our trip and I am so grateful that Gordon and Todd were willing to share their lovely home with us for a night.

We loved it all, but it wouldn’t be suitable for those who can’t manage stairs.

Our suite was perfect for two adults and one 12 year old. Everything was spotless. The common areas are lovely.

My daughter and I recently enjoyed a wonderful three-night stay. The owners are terrific - serve delicious breakfasts, share interesting travel stories and good conversation, maintain very clean and comfortable rooms. The eggs with breakfast are from their very own chickens!!! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and if I’m ever fortunate enough to be in Genelle again, I’m staying with Gordon and Todd!!

We would stop in Castlegar at a hotel in our way from the east Kootenay to Kelowna. We decided to head down to Genelle instead. Only added 5 minutes and this B&B sure beats the chain hotels up in Castlegar.

Its location was perfect for what we needed. The property was clean, hosts cordial ,breakfast excellent. There is a need for more parking though.

The uniqueness of the expansive English style garden provided a beautiful opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine or spend time in reflection. The interior contains handmade wooden furniture, special historical items and an ambiance that provides peace and a welcoming atmosphere.

This beautiful hand crafted home was like a slice of heaven. We indulged ourselves in an extravagant backyard garden and then rested in a gorgeous patio with a glass of wine. Our room came with an extremely comfortable bed and exquisitely hand made furniture by our hosts. We were greeted by our hosts in the morning with delicious hot coffee, homemade preserves and a baked apple from the garden, freshly picked raspberries and an omelette made with eggs from their chickens laid yesterday. In short, this is what we look forward to in a BnB. Although we were 1800 miles from our home in the US, we would most definitely return if we can. Thank you to our new friends, Gordon and Todd.

Our stay was outstanding.

We were able to enjoy the garden ( which is fabulous), with plenty of spots to sit and read. The room was comfortable with everything that you needed. Gordon and Todd were very helpful, interesting to talk to and the breakfast was delicious.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Genelle House. The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. The property is gorgeous as was the view outside the window. We enjoyed an amazing breakfast the next day and Todd and Gordon were wonderful company. They gave us some good tips for stops on the rest of our road trip.

The breakfast was exceptional, with lovely fresh fruit and made from scratch waffles. The coffee was hot and strong and great. Our hosts were extremely personable and we enjoyed our conversations. The fact that Todd made the furniture and the kitchen himself lent a personal touch to the accommodation. Since Genelle is a few kilometres from Castlegar, it is more of a quiet, out-of-the-way place which lends itself to a quiet stay.
