Reviewed Sep 14, 2026The room was very clean and cozy, close to shops, close to where we needed to be. Staff were very friendly and nice. Kitchenette was nice and clean great closet space and tidy clean bathtoom. Laundry room was easy to access and use. Was a lovely stay for my little family.
The only downside was the WIFI was hard to access, other than that everything was great.

We stayed in the upstairs unit this time and noticed the highway traffic more although it didnt bother us that much. The shampoo and shower gel were not the best. But other than that it is a great place to stay.

Reviewed May 24, 2026We were travelling by camper van and wanted a place to readjust to the everyday world and clear the vehicle before returning it in Christchurch. Rolleston was an ideal location and we took a punt on the motel based on online reviews. It didn’t disappoint. Reception is unstaffed outside check-in hours, but we were able to reach someone by the phone outside the entrance to check they could accommodate our 7m long vehicle. When we returned, the lady who checked us in was friendly and welcoming. We found the room comfortable and well equipped. As a US style “efficiency,” we had everything we needed to prepare breakfast from our camping supplies. There was also plenty of space for us to reorganise our rather large travelling bags/cases with clothes required fir tropics, winter in NZ and early Summer in Canada. The place was close to the highway, but surprisingly quiet. The only disturbance came shortly after a mid afternoon check-in when the siren went off summoning the volunteer crew of the nearby fire station - but luckily there were no shouts in the night! Fast food and other eating is all within easy reach and, while we didn’t need it, the motel was happy to suggest transport to Christchurch Airport/hold bags post the 10am checkout, etc.
Nothing, but while I mentioned they could accommodate our lengthy camper van, we did stay in low season and they might not have been do easy if the motel had been full.

Only drawback, which Cant be helped is its closeness to the main road and railway, so quite noisy, even early hours, unfortunately we were in room 10 which is closed to the road, but have stayed in rooms at the furthest way from the road and not as bad.

Noise from disruptive guests talking loudly and running through the hallways. Noise from the air conditioning in neighboring apartments. Wi-Fi limited to 10GB, which is unpleasant for those who work remotely, having to constantly request additional data.
