Reviewed Sep 7, 2026Our room was clean , comfortable and well equipped. Loved the sea view. We liked the position of the hotel, in the centre of the village. The food was good. We appreciated the free parking pass for the NT car park. The staff were very friendly. The undercover terrace along the front of the hotel is a welcome addition and very good idea. Great to sit and relax and watch the world go by.
There was nothing we didn’t like except to mention that in the room we had, there were two steps down into the bathroom and so a hand rail would be helpful, especially for elderly guests.

Reviewed Aug 23, 2026⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A very special 80th birthday at The Ship Inn, Aberdaron We recently celebrated my mum’s 80th birthday at The Ship Inn in Aberdaron, and I honestly couldn’t praise Alun and his fantastic team enough. From the moment we arrived, they looked after us brilliantly. Nothing was too much trouble — and with a family gathering for an 80th birthday, I’m fairly sure we gave them plenty of opportunities to test that theory! 😂 Alun and the team were warm, friendly, attentive and incredibly accommodating. Everything was handled with such good humour and genuine care, which meant we could simply relax, enjoy ourselves and concentrate on making a fuss of Mum — exactly as it should be. The food was lovely, the atmosphere was great, and the service was absolutely spot on. It’s the little things that make a special occasion memorable, and the team seemed to think of all of them before we did. Mum had a wonderful 80th birthday, we made some very happy family memories, and a huge part of that was down to the way we were looked after. A massive thank you to Alun and everyone at The Ship Inn. You helped make a milestone birthday really special. We’ll definitely be back — although perhaps we’ll give you a little time to recover from us first! 😂🥂🎂 Highly recommended — especially if you want somewhere that genuinely understands how to look after people. ❤️

It was only available for an hour more hotels should adopt that idea. Great location for the beautiful beach 2 mins away. We stayed for 2 nights, the hottest of the year, our room was still comfortable.
Our room was on the roadside overlooking the seating area so it can get quite noisy so I suggest you stay and enjoy the ambience! We didn't eat the evening meal, just had drinks, but the food looked great and it was busy so I think that says it all.

The beds were comfortable so we slept very well. Nice soft towels changed regularly Free parking ar nearby National trust car park for duration of our stay.

The breakfasts (particularly the full British) and dinners were excellent. The landlord and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay there again.

A quiet relaxing break just what we wanted, with lots to do in the area, like visiting and swimming at Whistling sands beach, and near by National trust gardens. The food was of a really good standard, and the restaurant was well run. "Captain" Alun, and his team of staff were all focused on giving their guests the best possible stay.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026Lovely clean cosy room, very spacious lovely bathroom and good powerful shower. Friendly staff great breakfast and so close to the beach. Even though it was above the pub which is quite lively until about midnight we were on the top floor and it was quiet there.
Only thing if you have kids that you might hear some noise late night from the pub below if it’s the weekend or in summer bit busier.
