Wir haben Jane, die Gastgeberin, als super freundliche und aufgestellte Person kennengelernt. Wir durften alles aus dem Garten pflücken und essen. Wie im Paradies! Das Chalet war makellos sauber, super eingerichtet und wir haben uns sofort wie zuhause gefühlt. Wenn wir wieder nach Neuseeland kommen, dann wollen wir unbedingt hier übernachten und mehr Zeit verbringen. Wir können diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

There are 3 chalets located uphill within a farm. Quiet place with great views. It is a large chalet, very well equipped, nice and clean. Jane welcomed us and gave us great tips on the area. There is a parking space adjacent to the chalet and a washing machine nearby for the use of the guests. Conveniently located just 10 minutes drive from Motueka, 15 minutes drive from both Kaiteriteri and Marahau, and on the way to the Northern entrance of Abel Tasman NP and Golden Bay. Highly recommended.

None! Note that Google Maps will direct you to turn left about 100 meters before the correct turn. Ignore and continue until you see the Terraced Chalets sign and the number 133 on the mailbox.

Serene. Surrounded by garden and fruit trees. Well equipped kitchen. Felt like a home away from home. Very clean. Great shower and bathroom. Elevated view to surrounding countryside. Short drive to eateries at Riwaka and to shopping at Motueka. Shared laundry facility. Lovely hosts. Balcony with outdoor furniture for two people.

Jane and John were amazing and so accommodating. Allowed me to wash clothes and provided me with a place undercover to dry them. The serenity was so lovely and the BBQ facilities were great. We really appreciated the fresh peaches off their trees. This chalet has everything we needed plus more. One of our most favourite stays!

Really lovely unit set in gardens (one of 3 but all private) with a great outlook over the valley. Very close to Kaiteriteri by car and also some lovely cafes and bars in Riwaka. Comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen with access to washing machine for $2 a load so we were sorted! Friendly owners. Recommend

Very Clean, comfortable & quiet! The chalet was perfect! Everything you needed for a comfortable stay! Jane was awesome! Loved the lemons & the grapes we picked! Beautiful property! Sitting on the front porch watching and listening to the birds was relaxing! Location was perfect, close to town and hiking trails and beaches. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us. The recommendation to eat at the Riwaka hotel was perfect! We had the ribs and the pork sandwich! Excellent & so was the beer!

10/10- wouldn’t change anything! Beautiful property with views of the mountains and ocean. 10 minute drive to Kaiteriteri. A few minutes drive to Riwaka pub which Jane recommended, and it was the best pub food we’ve ever had!! The chalet was very clean and had everything we needed. Jane and John are so lovely and very accomodating!! Would love to come back and stay again!!

John and Jane are absolutely great hosts. John went way out of his way to accommodate our needs and help us out. Very friendly and social host with a great property. Definitely a plus to be able to wash our laundry. Chalet very clean and comfortable.

A very warm welcome, with everything you need in the cabin itself. Rabbits, quails, birds, sheep and really tasty oranges in the garden. Very close to Abal Tasman National Park. Just loved it.

Lovely cottages in a great location, very clean and comfortable, with good cooking facilities and lovely hosts. Riwaka Valley is a great location, with excellent meals at the local Riwaka Hotel, close to beautiful beaches at Kaiteriteri and Abel Tasman NP. Perfect!

I booked this chalet for my parents during our South Island road trip and it was absolutely perfect. Wonderful, peaceful space nestled amongst beautiful flora. Perfect deck for a morning cup of tea and an evening glass of wine watching the sunset. The hosts Jane, John and Izzy (the dog) are so welcoming and friendly and have created a cosy haven in the hills. My parents didn’t want to leave and it was definitely their favourite spot.

Peaceful rural setting: Nestled in the scenic Riwaka Valley, the chalets offer a tranquil escape with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and nearby coastline. ​ Well-Equipped Chalets: The chalet is thoughtfully designed with a kitchenette, including a microwave, a hot plate, refrigerator, and cooking appliances, making it easy to prepare meals. ​Very clean. Outdoor spaces: we appreciated the private balcony and certainly, if were not the heavy rain during our stay, we would have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful garden and picnic areas. ​ Proximity to attractions: The location is ideal for exploring the region, with Kaiteriteri Beach and the Abel Tasman National Park just a short drive away. ​ Exceptional hospitality: Host Jane is friendly and helpful, providing guests with a warm welcome and valuable local insights.

Creaky floor: a small but noticeable detail—the floors in the chalet creak quite a bit when walking around, especially at night. Lack of space in the bathroom for personal items, suggesting the addition of shelves or a small rolling bathroom cart. Mosquitoes: as expected in a lush, rural environment, there were a few mosquitoes around. No Dishwasher: while the kitchenette is well stocked, the lack of a dishwasher stands out. We knew beforehand, not a major issue, but definitely an opportunity for improvement. Rural location requires a car: the peaceful setting means it’s a bit out of town, so having your own car is essential for access to shops, restaurants, and activities.

Host was very responsive and helpful. Conveniently located to Abel Tasman. Great place to stay.

This is the second holiday I have stayed there, this time for 11 nights. One of three immaculate cabins with car parking and a deck overlooking green hills. Chalets are mid way between Motueka and the Abel Tasman so convenient for both although you need a car. Very restful and relaxing place with friendly owners. Because its in the countryside it's very quiet and hence excellent sleep quality.

Very friendly and helpful owners offering a good location for accessing Abel Tasman Park. Really enjoyed the gardens/orchards and our accommodation was well designed, peaceful and gave us privacy.

For a longer stay an oven would be great.

The chalet was perfect for us. It had all the facilities we could wish for and was warm and comfortable. Jane and John were fantastic hosts. They allowed us to use their 'greenhouse' to dry our laundry. The location is quiet rural, but attractions such as Kaiteriteri Beach and the Abel Tasman National Park walks are only a short drive away. We are already planning to return.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike.

The chalet was very clean and quiet, away from the road. The basic kitchen was good for a couple of home cooked meals and the bed was comfortable. We used the bbq one night and it was great. The hosts, Jane and John were super friendly and welcoming and had some good suggestions for things to do around the area. We also did a couple of loads of laundry.

The chalet is so cozy and welcoming with a great view of the mountain and beautiful landscape. We showed up late as we were coming from Picton but Jane was looking out for us to give us a warm welcome to her property. Highly recommended to stay here.

Perfect, quiet location between Motueka and Kaiteriteri. The surroundings were absolutely gorgeous, the grounds were impeccable, and the room itself is a self-contained studio with a kitchenette and sitting area. As great as the location and room were, the hosts, Jane and John, were the best hosts in all of our stays in NZ. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable and make the most out of our trip to that area. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to all adult travelers. And what an incredible value as well!

Terraced Chalets was the perfect place for us to base ourselves to see this area. The chalet is comfortable and very clean. We like to cook, so we made all our meals. The facilities allowed this to work perfectly. The porch was the perfect place to eat and enjoy the view. It was the hosts who made our stay extra special. Jane was there to check us in and make sure we had everything we needed.

John and Jane was the best host during our 2 weeks trip in South Island. They were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The chalet was clean, tidy, comfortable with a great view too. Jane provided an additional mattress for my teen son, which he preferred compared to a sofa bed. Thank you Jane and John for your hospitality, it made our stay that much more enjoyable.

Fabulous chalets in a beauitful, peaceful setting. Great location for Abel Tasman National Park. Exceptionally clean and well equipped, very comfortable beds.

Loved the location, squirreled away in the hills with only two other chalets kept it quiet and gave us lots of privacy. We took advantage of the BBQ setup and frequently ate outside enjoying the beautiful gardens.

I wasn't super keen on the parking, we were in the last chalet and it was incredibly tight which made me a little nervous getting in/out but that probably says more about my driving abilities than the property!

I can only recommend this place, friendly host, helpful, quite surrounding.

The room was spotless and accommodations well thought out. We had some goodies waiting for us (I am not going to spoil the surprises). The bed was very comfortable. The TV was large, easy to use, well situated to watch from bed and had free Netflix! The views are amazing, as is the garden. The owners are sweet as can be.

I missed not getting to meet the owner's dog. ;)
