No breakfast accommodations
We did not have any clean towels to room nor trash was not emptied we did it ourselves
Location is lovely. Only hotel with a pool. Like having restaurant on-site. ( it was closed the 2 days after Labor Day though). Wish they offered breakfast like they did before Covid.
Price is really high. They say its$X per night but they also charge a fee to use their " facilities" ( this includes parking, pool, their beach and the " free" coffee&tea). If they are going to charge nearly $50 Per night in addition to the room charge they should just include it. The room is nice but 1) you have torequest housekeeping. But they won't make your bed or sweep your room. I think they just bring more towels (?). 2) I dropped something under the bed and it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a while ( a lot of dust and dirt). For the price housekeeping should be included and you at minimum should get your bed made and floors cleaned up from sand.
Beautiful room, right on beach with pool and restaurant on-site.
The price is ridiculously high. I can go on a cruise for the price of 5 nights here. The restaurant wasn't open for 2 says after labor day. Under the bed was covered in dust. No housekeeping. If they come ( on request) they dont sweep sand or make bed.
Have been here before. Good location. Great staff. A special place
Loud!
The hotel was right on the beach and it was absolutely beautiful!
Checkout is at 11. We took a walk and came back to our room at 10 and they threw out all of our food that was in the fridge and were already cleaning my room.. That was pretty irritating. But other than that, it was great and we had no other issues.
Location
Unfortunately, the place was dirty. We walked around in our shoes due to stains on carpet, room had a funky odor, bathroom 😩
The beach is great, town is quaint, and lots to do within walking distance.
Room is a bit tight
They charge $125 for early check in between 2-4 pm. Glass doors throughout property always dirty. No breakfast on site. Housekeeping by request only. Restaurant food okay not great. Pool water cloudy. Lots of kids in pool.
Could be cleaner in general areas like glass doors.
Julie was Awesome!!!!soooo sad she is going back to schoool, hope she is back next year🤞🤞🤞
The location is absolutely beautiful. It is right on the beach. All the staff are wonderful including front desk, restaurant staff and housekeepers.
The rooms are very small and the furnishings and linens are like what you would expect from a much cheaper price hotel.
Had a great stay at Pleasant View last weekend! Everything was comfortable and we had a wonderful experience. Special thanks to Rame, the houseman, who was very helpful with our luggage. Would definitely stay here again!
Perfect location right on the beach, rooms were new and colorful
Limited parking, confusing to find room
It was right on the beach. The staff is very friendly.
Could use some upgrades. For the price I would expect the water pressure to be better, doors to close fully, better TV options (such as streaming capabilities). No outside shower to rinse off from the beach. The pool was not clean.
If you ever go to misquamicut beach make sure you stop into Pleasant view and go to bar and see Danielle the bartender ! What a great time we had !! Awsome service and a lot of fun ! Spot on !!
I stopped in for some fish and chips after work recently and was greeted by Juliana, my server. She was very polite, accommodating and quite professional! Obviously this wasnt her first rodeo with her job. Though the bar was relatively quiet at that time, the woman never stopped working while at the same time tending to my order. The PV got a good one with this server and I look forward to stopping in again soon for my fish and chips. Thank you for a very nice and relaxing time. I live locally and my dad was a regular at the PV back in the day but Id only gone in less than a handful of times. This was a very comfortable experience! I WILL be back!
The location is impeccable! To sit on the sea wall and have a drink or a meal is heaven. The kids love the pool for a beach break. Water pressure is great.
The room smelled like mildew. Carpet seaside is a poor choice. Towels were few and far between.
This is one of those hotels where whether it’s “worth it” depends entirely on what you value. At around $800 a night in peak season, the price puts it in the company of truly luxury hotels. I’ve actually paid less for rooms at the Venetian in Las Vegas. If you’re expecting that same level of polished, high-end accommodations, you’ll probably leave disappointed. Our room had clearly been updated and was bright, comfortable, and inviting. The bathroom, however, not so much. Some of the floor tile was peeling, and one of the ceiling tiles had shifted enough that you could see the dark space above it. Those details felt out of place at this price point. That said, you are paying for something very specific: a location that is almost impossible to beat. We parked easily, walked directly onto a quiet stretch of beach, and fell asleep each night with the sound of the waves coming through the open balcony door. That experience felt rare. The restaurant was perfectly fine, good enough, but not memorable. When I think back on the trip, I don’t think about the bathroom. I think the balcony, the sound of the ocean, and how close we were to the beach. Even with rainy weather during peak season, I don’t regret spending the money. If luxury finishes are what matter most to you, I’d probably look elsewhere. If your priority is an unbeatable beachfront location where the ocean is the main attraction, this hotel delivers exactly that.
We highly anticipated this stay and after spending $518 for one night, we realized we payed for the view. Being able to open the sliding glass door next to the bed and smell the ocean and hear the waves throughout the night and upon waking up was beautiful.
Our stay at Pleasant View Inn was unfortunately very disappointing. When we entered the room, we immediately noticed how basic it was. There wasn't even a microwave or coffee maker, and the television looked like it hadn't been updated in decades. The biggest issue, however, was the cleanliness. The floor was covered in sand before we had even unpacked, despite us arriving with clean shoes. We ended up wiping our feet on a wet towel throughout our stay because the floor was so dirty. As we settled in, we found more signs that the room hadn't been cleaned thoroughly. When I moved a lamp on the end table, there were old coffee stains underneath that had clearly been there for quite some time. The bottoms of the curtains were filthy and looked like they hadn't been washed or replaced in a very long time. There were also maintenance issues. The sliding glass door was broken, and the screen wouldn't close completely. The toilet clogged the first time we used it and wouldn't flush for the rest of the night. Rather than walk across the property carrying a plunger, we simply left it closed and waited until we checked out the next morning. The following morning, I went to the front desk hoping they had complimentary toothpaste since we had forgotten ours. They didn't have any available, and the small convenience store was sold out. I ended up paying $5 for two small swigs of Scope mouthwash just so we could mix it with water and brush our teeth. The biggest disappointment was the food. I was excited to enjoy fresh seafood while visiting Westerly because I'd had an incredible meal at a local seafood shack on a previous trip. Instead, I ordered the $30 scallop dinner with fries from The Hatch at the hotel. It was honestly one of the worst seafood meals I've ever had. The scallops were bland, chewy, and tasted anything but fresh. They had no sweetness or flavor and seemed heavily preserved and overcooked.
Great location walking distance from Food spots and stores.
I liked the property except that on the last day, i found a roach on the table and killed it.
The location next to a fire district beach is the only thing that saves this place. We booked in Feb. directly with the motel for a two night stay. When we checked in we were told we’d have to change rooms the next day. They said they were overbooked and were moving us from a second floor king room to an upgraded 3d floor king room in another building. Both were ocean view. The second room was not upgraded in any way. In fact it appeared to be smaller as our first room had a nightstand on either side of the bed and in ghe second room the bed was up against the wall with room for only 1 nightstand on the other side. Hotel towels are thin, worn and small in size ( even the bath towels). The beach in front of the motel is only accessible during low tide. Check I is at 4pm and you cannot get a beach pass until you are checked in. So if you are thinking of arribefore 4 and enjoying the beach until check in, you best check the tide chart first. The cleaning staff is super friendly; except for one young woman at the front desk, front end staff very short with guests. By the was, multiple guests were forced to change rooms. We were all there on Sat waiting for our new room assignment. Stairs to the third floor at steep. If you have difficulty with stairs make sure you mention that when booking and request a first floor room.
Had the best time talking with Julie the bartender! Made us feel so welcome and her drinks were top notch!! Said she's a newbie but you would never know!!
This was our 4th trip to the PV Inn. Every time we come, we leave feeling so fulfilled and happy! Our kids love the ability to go back and forth to the beach and the pool. The food at The Hatch never disappoints! The bartenders make the BEST mojito. We had Hailey as our server two nights in a row, and she was incredible! She was so intelligent and kind to our group, and we also noticed how patient she was with the staff while training some of them. We're always happy with the hospitality! We cannot wait to come back next Summer!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Pleasant View. The hotel offers two complimentary parking lots with plenty of spaces, which made parking very convenient. Before arriving, I contacted the hotel regarding a restaurant reservation, and the front desk staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. My favorite was Marquis (I’m not sure of the spelling), who assisted me throughout my stay and provided outstanding service. The hotel’s location is excellent. It’s within walking distance of restaurants and shops, making it easy to explore the area. I booked an Ocean View Balcony room. Although the room was on the smaller side, it was newly renovated, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. I especially loved sitting on the balcony, listening to the ocean breeze and enjoying the peaceful view. The hotel is located right on the beach, so you’re just steps away from the ocean. The outdoor seating area and restaurant offer breathtaking 180-degree ocean views. One of the main reasons I chose Pleasant View was its swimming pool, in addition to its excellent location and beautiful rooms. Although the pool is on the street side of the property, it is large, well-maintained, and surrounded by comfortable seating. We had a wonderful time relaxing there. I had dinner at the hotel one evening, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Another night, we dined at Andrea Restaurant, which has beautiful ocean views and excellent food. My lobster was absolutely amazing. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would be delighted to return to Pleasant View in the future. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing beachfront getaway.
Another wonderful stay on the RI shoreline! Greeted at the front desk with welcoming smiles from Krista & Susan. Our delicious dinner was prepared by Chef Lenny. A big thank you to Joe and Ashley for making our trip so very special.
Conveniently located and beach access
The air conditioning sounds like an air compressor probably because the filters need to be cleaned they were so dusty.
We have been going to the Pleasant View for summer vacation the last 10 years plus and we always have a great time. It great to see Susan and Krista at check in. They are always friendly and professional and they make sure all are accommodations are exactly what we requested. We always bring way to much baggage but no issues with Rinor’s help he brought everything to our room. We had excellent service at the restaurant from Sydney and Haley and Alana and Danielle always knew what refreshment to offer from the bar after a day on the beach . Also don’t let me forget Dalton we had a few small issues in our room that he remedied immediately and Cathy at the front desk was always helpful in the evening with every request we made. Lastly just want to express my gratitude to Joe, Ashley and Lenny. They are always available and take the time to say hello and make sure our stay at the Pleasant View is 5 Star.
The view and convenience
The price- it’s too high. C’mon, $600 for one night? The room had a bed, bathroom tv and fridge. For $600? I probably won’t be back
We LOVED that it was right on the beach, and also there was a bar/restaurant that was really good!!!!!!!!
Our room and balcony were a bit small, will book a bigger room next trip.
Listening to the waves crashing along the shore! Oh, and a plethora of very comfy pillows!
Difficulty making dinner reservations and when I finally did the reservations weren’t available for dinner at 7pm. Bummer!
Everything
Nothing
It was beautiful and comfortable.
Coffee went quick in the morning.
We had a great time at the Pleasant View! The hotel is beautiful and the location is fantastic. We enjoyed playing bingo and eating in the restaurant. The food is very good. Lenny is doing a wonderful job managing the food! And Krista is amazing too! She is so helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We will definitely go back in the future.
the view 🪟
the AC unit was so loud and the ice machine was broken 💔
Directly on beach
Many areas old, rust, requires painting. Couldn't get any food after 9 nor breakfast and very limited options within walking. No coffee or tea machine in room. No chairs or umbrella provided for beach use. Much less than would expect for the room rate.
My husband and I visited the PV for a night away over the 4th of July weekend and had the best time! Despite the large crowds and extreme heatwave, the staff at the PV took terrific care of us. The ladies at the front desk, Krista and Susan, were so welcoming and made sure that we could get access to our beautiful oceanfront room early. Although their plates were packed with orders at the Hatch Bar, Elana and Daniella were quick to take our orders and offered up some great cocktails. Hats off to Chef Lenny for his delicious crab cakes and for the complimentary mud-slide for my husband’s birthday. We could t have asked for a better weekend away at the beach.
This is my second time staying at this hotel, and just like the first time, I had an amazing experience. Waking up to the soothing sounds and breathtaking views of the ocean was a dream come true. We also had some fantastic nights, like the music bingo at the restaurant. Speaking of the food, the customer service here is simply exceptional. We had the pleasure of speaking with Lenny, the head of the restaurant, and we couldn’t thank him enough for making our stay so enjoyable. The surrounding environment is incredibly calming, which added to the overall charm of our vacation. The manager, Krista Webber, was a delight to work with. She made us feel truly welcome and made sure that we had everything we needed during our stay. I can’t wait to return to this wonderful place!
The location on the beach was great. There were plenty of lounge chairs to accommodate guests, the onsite restaurant was good & convenient. The room was spacious and very clean with a comfortable bed and an updated bathroom. The pool looked clean & well kept but I didn’t take advantage of it.
My room was on the third floor right next to the property spotlight so at night the bugs were at my balcony and I couldn’t really sit outside and my room was not dark. I would suggest a plexiglass or clear heavy tarp to provide safety on the balcony, instead of blue canvas - while sitting on the balcony it’s an obstructed view.
My boyfriend and I have loved the third-floor ocean view at Pleasantview Inn for the last 5 years for his birthday weekend. I paid in full for the same third floor room this year as I checked out last year, so I was unpleasantly surprised that the front desk informed me they had only a (smaller) 2nd floor room. I was understandably upset, but Susan, from the Front Desk, kindly offered a solution. She would waive the $42 + tax resort fee for both days, Friday and Saturday, ($84 + tax) as well as charge half the rate, $459.08, for Saturday night ($229.54 + tax.) She let me know they had a new reservation system and it wouldn’t allow a direct credit, so I could apply the amount due to me at the restaurant and if there was a balance when I checked out, I would receive a check. We ate a wonderful dinner Friday evening at Pleasantview Inn’s restaurant but when I mentioned a front desk credit they had no information about it. Unfortunately, when I checked out on Sunday, the staff also had no information on the credit/check due to me. In case there were any issues, Susan provided me with her phone number (401) 348-8222 X103 that I left a message for on Monday morning as well or as with Marquis(sp.?) at the Front Desk who took a message for me Monday afternoon. I hoped to get a return call yesterday (Tuesday) but did not so I left another message earlier today (Wednesday) still did not get a call back from Susan. I am disappointed with the lack of communication so I tried to call again this afternoon and instead of reaching Pleasantview directly, I was connected with a reservation center in Miami, Florida that was unfamiliar with the Pleasantview staff and my situation. I asked if I could get in touch with Joe Taunton the General Manager of Pleasantview Inn and the helpful representative, Alexander, said he would do his best to relay the message for Joe contact me. I hope if you’re reading this review, Joe, that you will please contact me at your earliest convenience. My phone number should be in your reservation system. Thank you so much in advance for resolving this unfortunate situation as soon as possible.
It’s tight on the beach
Very expensive is that they do not includie breakfast their restaurant doesn’t open till 4:00 They don’t have coffee machine in the room you have to go down stairs , Their towels didn’t smell fresh for white towels they should smell better . I don’t think they used any strong detergent or bleach. No elevator if some one can’t go upstairs .
Restaurant right there, tables outside.
friendly staff location
June is still considered off semi season so restaurant /bar was closed until 4 on week day .
A great place with an amazing ocean view. Everyone especially Alex was friendly and accommodating.
Location and room cleanse when we arrived
We stayed there for 3 nights and our room was not cleaned at least once. We were using the same 2 bath towels for 4 days
Great place to stay beautiful view right on the ocean could be updated a little bit tell Chapman
Location was near relatives home
More about the pricing with respect to the room Very very basic no frills room The queen bed, if it was, was more like a double bed
Beachfront! What’s not to like?
The Inn is a great place to stay. Unfortunately the pool and restaurant were not open during my stay. A little noisy during the day due to construction going on at the Inn. You did accommodate us with changing rooms which was Nice. The beach was beautiful and clean.
You could offer a light breakfast for a small charge.
I love everything about it
The toilet was broken and kept running. It overflowed in the morning.
We needed a place to stay after a Derby party in RI, and the Pleasant View is our go to place. Reservations were made through Susan at the front desk. Check in was quick with Krista assisting us. The room was refreshed with a new floor and area rug under the bed. After returning from a Derby party, my husband wanted to watch the basketball game in the lobby, and Cathy was very pleasant and changed the channel for us. This was another great quick stay for us at the Pleasant View Inn.
Fantastic location. The staff was very helpful. Even though we were there offseason, and the restaurant wasn't open yet, they were kind enough to give a list of where we could eat along with some of their recommendations.
There was nothing I didn't like. Will be planning another trip soon.
During our 5 night stay we had dinner twice in The Hatch. On both occasions our server was Elanah, a very young, professional, efficient and accommodating waitress, who was also very knowledgeable and personable. Thoroughly enjoyed our interactions. She is an asset to the restaurant. Our room, #238, was attended to by Denise. She was very patient and accommodating while waiting for us to vacate our room on a very rainy day. When we returned, our room was immaculate with clean bedding and ample towels for the remainder of our stay. I would also like to acknowledge Chad and all the other staff who were very helpful and friendly during our stay. All were willing to help in any way needed. You could tell they enjoyed being of service to the guests. While our room was small it was very comfortable and had all we needed for our quick ocean getaway. Would not hesitate staying here in the future. It was also easy to go between Watch Hill and Westerly.
Location is amazing
For a very expensive rate, amenities are not equivalent
Convenient to a show I was doing. The room this time was much nicer than the last one.
Doors to the patio didn’t lock.Wish they served breakfast.
I rented a room for 1 night we really enjoyed the views Beautiful beach. Too bad it was a gloomy cold day. Room was ok. Staff was very nice and easy to work with.
Downside, too noisy. The walls are too thin there was a couple next door fighting all night. We actually left in the middle of the night we let staff know. Its Unfortunate.
View is great if you get a ocean view . The room we got I have closet larger we paid full price no discount .no restaurant,no pool. And no elevators or help with bags wouldn't mind but room was tiny. The AC in the room over us made the whole room vibrate. Not even sure if this electrical set up is up to code .see pictures . So do go in April and don't believe the pictures.
excellent hotel and hotel.Nimali does a good job.
Location and pool
Dirty musty rooms, no hot water, rude check in staff
Beautiful location by the water
I’ve been staying at PVI for many years now and with the substantial increase to the rates, it’s not acceptable to have the rooms in the condition that they are - musty, not that clean - housekeeping doesn’t even come daily unless you ask which is a bit of a scam considering there’s a daily fee for cleaning.
The location is what made me make a reservation because we wanted to be right on the beach. We also liked the fact that we had a small balcony that faced the ocean. It was nice having a restaurant right on site to have lunch or dinner. Parking spots were always available.
The inn could use some upgrading especially in the painting department (doors were peeling) and carpeting. Also, the air conditioners in the rooms are really old.
Beut
Beautiful site overlooking the sea, and nice room and balcony, but glad to hear that the old dirty carpet is being replaced. The staff was great. We had delicious dinners at their Hatch restaurant, and Ashley our waitress was wonderful!
The view of the ocean and sound of the waves made it truly memorable!
People on either side of our room were smoking on their balconies causing smoke to come into our room!
Seeing the ocean
Deal with the noise, and provide better sleeping enviorment
Friendly, quiet and amazing on the ocean
Nothing in particular that I can think of.
I stayed at The Pleasant View inn for a week in July. I spoke to Susan on the phone who booked me in the most beautiful ocean front room with a private balcony. Upon check in I was greeted by Krista and Laura. They were both so welcoming and friendly. Dalton helped us bring our luggage to the room. We dined in the restaurant several times and all of our servers, Ashley, Hailey, and Alyssa were prompt and efficient. The food, prepared by Chef Lenny and his team was delicious every time. Upon check out, Dalton helped us again with our luggage and we were warmly escorted to our car by the general manager Joe. We will definitely be back again!
I went to the Pleasant View Inn for a weekend getaway with my sister and our friends for my sister’s birthday. Susan booked three rooms side by side overlooking the ocean. The view was incredible. It was the most beautiful sunrise I’ve ever seen. We went off property to have dinner but ended up returning to the PV because the restaurant we tried going to was already booked. I’m so glad we did because the food Chef Lenny made was out of this world. Haley was our server and Alyssa was our bartender. They were both great! I can’t wait for next summer so that we can return to our favorite place! Thank you Joe for always making our visits spectacular!
The fact that it was on the water and close to the venue I was doing an event at.
Rooms a bit out dated- carpet very worn- for what I paid for the room a bit disappointed. Was expecting a lot more.
Nice location on the beach. Nice staff.
Filthy, smelled awful, very loud, stains all over the carpet in the room.
We had dinner at the Pleasant View Inn on Saturday and had a wonderful experience. This is one of our favorite spots in Misquamicut. We have NEVER been disappointed. Erica was our waitress. She was very attentive and personable. Alyssa was the manager (love her) and Elanah was the bartender. The Misquamicut Martini is the perfect drink. We can't wait for next spring when the restaurant reopens! Thanks for the entire team! They really make you feel at home.
Beach view and room was clean.
Had a great time it's a beautiful place
Staff was great! Room was comfortable.balcony is super small.
Only downside was the carpets throughout the inn need to be washed if not replaced Otherwise we had a great stay
Great beachfront property for a relaxing long weekend. Clean facility, friendly staff, nice area with restaurant/take out options and beautiful coastline sightseeing nearby.
We’ve stayed here for the past 4-5 summers. It’s a great location to that gives the option of pool or beach as you choose. Good location for fire work displays along the beach and the dining is usually decent to good at the facility. The only glitch this year was that the pool water level was filled too high which made the covers of the filters pop off. This resulted in one of our party who was distracted while helping a child with shoes stepping back and because the filter cover had popped up, she ended up having a fall and getting a painful and serious bruise to her leg muscle. The staff gave ice and checked back in later on, but the injury did end up causing pain and bother for a couple of months. We’re not the litigious type and just handled the inconvenience with our own coverage, but mentioning so others are aware to be careful of the their proximity to the pool filters. Again, that is the only hiccup in multiple years of staying here… It is a delightful location. Only other not would be that there is no elevator and that bags will need to be carried up stairs to rooms. The staff will help with this upon request but since there isn’t an elevator and the layout of the facility has many levels and need to navigate stairs… People with physical challenges may want to visit in person to assess the accessibility before booking.
You have to walk down a side hill of the beach to get to the water but once you’re down there, it’s fun, but no Wi-Fi connection unless you walk back up to the top. Overall fun time with the option to go up to the pool or back to the ocean all day long right on the beach and a restaurant right on the premises with a bar.
The location is unbeatable. Absolutely stunning right alongside Misquamicut beach. The amenities seemed great too -- the pool looked nice, there was a lovely entryway area, and it appeared that there was some breakfast and coffee available. The staff were also super friendly. The only downside was the room itself. It smelled musty and the carpet was stained. If there are better rooms to stay in I'd highly recommend this location with an ocean view. If the other rooms are like ours then I couldn't recommend it unless room cleanliness is a low priority.
Beautiful views, friendly staff, we will definitely be back!
Beautiful Location right on the water. We did not know that many of the rooms Require steps on several levels and being seniors, had to carry our luggage up 4 sets of stairs and no elevator. Other then that, the place was Lovely and the pool delightful.
