NYCE Hotel Dortmund Thier Galerie

Gut

The staff was so wonderful and very very helpful

Saubere Unterkunft Zentrale Lage

I travel very frequently and am used to most situations, and have no issues as a single traveller. On this occasion I travelled with my family so would be more concerned with standards/location/safety. on arrival at the address given, the doors were locked. It was 2pm in the afternoon. There was no reception. The bell on the door was rung multiple times but not answered. A small notice said to go to main building to check in. There were no directions. We googled the address on the door in &walked a few hundred meters in 28C with all our luggage, and found the sister hotel upstairs from a commercial unit. Checked in and were directed back the same distance from whence we came. Opposite the entrance to our accommodation was a drug unit or needle exchange where dozens of addicts congregated, with most begging from all passers by & us. This was the gauntlet we had to run on each occasion we left or entered the building. Absolutely unacceptable for family accommodation !!! At the very least there could have been a doorman/porter, but they would probably be afraid to work there. To add insult to injury, we were charged what would appear to be about 3 times the regular rate ( presumably due to Euro 2024), so for the premium charged just to us, having a doorman would have helped. In the event, we left after one night and booked accommodation elsewhere at our own expense, as we were simply tired of having to deal with unfortunate addicts who were more at home in the location. AVOID!!!

The hotel is divided in two buildings, not even in the same street. Advice via email would have been great. Instead, we had to run around and try for find the lobby in the other building to get our keys. Not even a little map was posted, just the address. Assuming all hotel guests are non-local, this is not acceptable.

Nice and practical room. Just two issues: all the hotels in the world has water glas, plast or not but some kind; the second is instructionfor the shower

Warm, Fenster nur ankippbar, keine Klimaanlage

Perfect for the football

There were no refrigerators. The reception and bed building were different buildings, there were little far. The condition of rooms were really clean and comfortable.

Molto curato l'ambiente interno a partire dalla reception, camera spaziosa arredata modernamente, bagno molto bello, unica pecca manca l'aria condizionata

Sehr freundliches Bedienung.

They didn’t have air conditioning. We could not sleep and had to leave and find another hotel

Hotel adres listed is different then the actual Hotel reception! The Hotel is situated in the very center, with plenty of parking options. They have 2 buildings, after i figured out where the reception was. I eas able to check in and get room #209 a spacious room, without AC. Two big windows towards a side street from the high street shopping area. The staff was friendly and after asking for AC they offered to put a fan in my room, which was necessary due to the very warm weather. I did enjoy the breakfast with savory and sweet option to choose from. I liked the stay very much that i booked for Hannover too in the weekend.

Hotel moderno, funcionales y buenas instalaciones.

Great hotel for a stay in Dortmund. Friendly staff and everything you need is close by.

Convenient location to Messe Dortmund (10mins via taxi) and right around the corner from a lot of food options and the mall!

Sehr freundliches ,hilfsbereites Personal.

I booked this hotel based on all the great reviews, but what a BIG disappointment. Arrived at the hotel as it was shown in the picture. Door was closed, no one answered the doorbell or the phone number written on the button. NO other info. Then by coinsidence 20 mins later, a random person walked by and told me the check in is at another hotel somewhere else. I had to walk ten minutes with all my luggage, finally arriving to another closed door with yet another doorbell which no one answered, 15 mins trying to get in trough doorbell and phone calls, no one answered, time was 9 in the evening. At last a guest randomly came out and let me in. Up to the reception in second floor i find a receptionist, she didnt speak a single word of english, and i didnt even wanna try to explain my frustrations, for obvious reasons. It was almost a miracle i even got the key to my room. Room is the only nice about this hotel, still the pillows were just bags filled with random chunks of material, and was horrible to sleep on. When checking out in the morning, dragging all my luggage around for a 10 mins walk, i faced the same problem again, door to reception downstairs were closed, and no one answered the door. After 20 mins ive had enough and went back to the room just threw the key at the floor and left. Dont stay here, unless you want to ruin your trip with tons of frustrations. Trust me, a nice room is not even close to compensate for all the hassle.

Klein ‚ aber fein. Sehr zentrale Lage.

Sehr freundliches Personal Gute lage

Fantástico

Sehr sauber und zentral gelegen .

Tolles Zimmer zum günstigen Preis. Service 1a

❤️

Die Lage war sehr gut. Leckeres Frühstück. Gute Betten. Sehr leise.

Freundliches Personal, schöne und saubere Zimmer, einfacher Check In/Out

We spent a night here while visiting Germany to see friends. It was great - comfortable, clean, well located, quiet, safe, with very friendly and helpful staff. We visit Germany regularly and breakfasts are often quite basic - this one was lovely. A great find!

This hotel is well situated to the city centre. There is s large shopping mall next door tp the hotel which is great for the shopaholics out there The rooms are partivluarly small bur comfortable. The service is reasonabl.

Just come back from a 10 day tour of Eastern Europe, the City Hotel is well placed for quick access into the city centre and with secure parking that doesn’t cost the earth. The staff were friendly and spoke good English . The room wasn’t the largest I had on the trip and the furniture was a bit 1980s G Plan, Bathroom was adequate but people with mobility issues would have a problem with access to the shower. However the crowning glory was the buffet breakfast, for a small hotel in the city centre every type of diet was catered for and all cooked fresh. Brilliant. If it wasn’t for the breakfast it was all a little austere and needed a bit of TLC, alright for an overnight stop but not an extended stay

Not far from the train station and round the corner from the shops. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was nice, comfortable bed, no support from the pillows. New ones or an additional pillow was needed. The bathroom was nice and clean with a very fancy mirror. I was not keen on the brown long pile carpet for a hotel room. Breakfast was included and there was a nice variety of cooked items and continental breakfast foods, the scrambled eggs were delicious. We would stay here again

Hotel within the city ring to the west. Only a couple of minutes to city center and railway station. The hotel is older but well kept. Clean roms. Helpful staff. A small elevator takes you to your room. Normal size. The room was very cold and we opened the radiators on full but it did not help. Beds a little worn out but still comfortable. Old TV set, room safe and a water boiler with no coffee.

Just been on a joint 21st birthday and stag party staying at the City Hotel and taking in a game all booked through info-besttravel. The hotel is in a perfect location smack bang in the middle of the city, the rooms are clean and spacious and everything you needed for a basic stay away. The best part of the hotel were the staff who were all very friendly and helpful, a special mention to Sandra who was most welcoming. As you can imagine we were arriving back at the hotel quite late/early morning from the night out, yet the bar was open and the staff were friendly. The breakfast was also very good with a great selection ranging from fresh fruit, ham and cheese or bacon, sausage and scrambled egg. If your thinking of thinking of visiting Dortmund for the football then this is the hotel you need.

The breakfast is really good with extra plus for the homemade meatballs, bacon, sausage, real scrambled eggs (no fake) and the waffels. The bar area is opened 24x7 and includes a small pool table. The rooms are clean with one free bottle of water. The coffea and tea is also on the house. Very friendly staff. Will come back!

Was in Dortmund with my son for the BVB game this week and I'd left it late in booking a room anywhere for the night of the match itself, but this place came up trumps a few days before. Was a bit sceptical but this was absolutely perfect for us. My son was delighted to see a pool table as soon as we walked in, the staff were extremely friendly and the breakfast was adequate as well. Just off the main shopping area and ten minutes walk to the underground which is then another ten minutes to the stadium. Room was small but comfortable, beds nice and soft. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Great hotel in the center of Dortmund. Location of the hotel is amassing, very short walking distance to main shopping street, railway station, shopping center, bars, restaurants... The rooms are spacious and very clean, beds are comfortable. Breakfast with great variety of choices. Staff exceptionally polite and friendly. I really enjoyed my stay.

This was a last minute reservation in order to go to the Dortmund game. Wish I'd could have a better option, hate hotels that don't offer bar of soap in the bathroom but only liquid soap. Was very cold during the night, found an open window in the morning. 3/5 was because it offered parking, otherwise probably only 2.

I stayed in this hotel on a short visit in Dortmund. Its location is great right in the heart of the city. It is very clean and breakfast is excellent - plenty of dishes and all carefully prepared the same morning. Everyone from the staff was very kind and helpful. As for the size of the rooms they are a bit tight and if you would have to park your car that could prove a challenge.

City hotel is nice hotel in the main city center next to Thier Gallery Mall and the main shopping street. The rooms are clean and nice, the breakfast is very good. The receptionist guy is very friendly and making a lot of jokes :-) He knows how to make your day.

I stayed here for 1 night on a business visit. The rooms are ok but not very big. The rooms are clean and not outdated so pleasant to stay in. One negative point is the wifi which was very hard to get a good connection. This is offered by some sort of provider and I was not able to get connected. The breakfast was very good with a wide variety of choice.

Stayed in a group room (4) which was roomy enough but the bathroom was very small, especially considering the number of occupants. Nevertheless, very clean all round. Whilst the corridor smelt of tobacco, thankfully the (non-smoking) room was fine. Very welcoming reception staff, available around the clock. Good standard of (inclusive) continental breakfast available in the morning. Hotel is centrally located, ideal for both the rail station and the Altemarkt, neither much more than 5 minutes walk for a fit person. Parking available (up a very steep ramp) but at an extra charge of €9.50. Free wifi via annoying sign-up to Freefii.de, to which you have to provide email details.

The hotel is centrally located, 500m from main station. However all rooms were booked and I got a smoking room which had a very bad smell although I try to leave the windows open till before I sleep. Badly isolated so you hear all noises from neighbours and street. Price is reasonable but I'm sure it would be better with Airbnb

I was on a business trip to Dortmund and was advised to stay at city hotel in Dortmund. However I have never experienced such a bad sleeping as in the City Hotel. The bed was unbelievable bad which resulted in a bad back with pain an inhibited quality of life.

it was nice to stay there, a small hotel at the centre of Dortmund shopping area, 10 minute walking distance from train station, clean rooms and nice . the lift is quite small but ok for a single person

As we were in the city purely to get around and see things, thankfully we didn't spend much time in the room at all apart from to wash and sleep in. The location of this hotel in excellent and easily the best thing to it. Just a few minutes walk to the main railway starion and taxi rank makes anywhere in the city easily accessible. However the room itself didn't impress. On arrival, the reception staff were friendly throughout the check in process, it was when we entered the room we were slightly disappointed. At the beginning of July, the temperature outside was 30+ every day and the room had no fridge or air conditioning. This was the main reason we spent as little time in the room as possible. As well as this, the room seemed very cramped, with 4 single beds in what was probably normally a double or triple room at best. The bathroom was also no where near big enough, basically a box room with a shower, toilet and sink in. Despite the negatives with the room, the hotel in general was ideal for what we used it for and was very clean with maids coming in daily, however i wouldn't recommend it for anything more than somewhere to base and sleep, especially in the summer months with no fridge or air con.

We enjoyed 3 nights in Dortmund and explored the city with ease using this hotel as our starting point. The location was the most pleasing part of our stay as nothing seemed too far away. Unfortunately the hotel had some flaws, namely a lack of air conditioning and mini fridge, and the quadruple room feeling very much like a double or triple room. The shower room was extremely small too. The weather was unbelievable, it was around 35 degrees during our entire stay and if the rooms were more comfortable then I would have been happy to give the hotel more stars. All in all I still would recommend staying here despite the issues stated above. The staff were friendly and breakfast was fine.

The hotel is located in the city center of Dortmund. The hotel in general is quite outdated, it needs some redecoration. Room sized of the hotel are ok. The Wifi in the hotel is not very good, it is not possible to connect from all rooms to the internet. There are also very few parking spaces available at the hotel. The breakfast in the morning is ok.
