Fantastic stay at a gorgeous country pub. The balcony room was beautifully decorated with a gorgeous view. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was amazing. Both bath and shower were superb. The food both in the evening and at breakfast was faultless. Every member of staff provided incredible customer service. We will definitely be back for another stay!

The only extra touch I would suggest is robes would add to the luxury feel but our stay was faultless!

The room was nice and clean. The welcome we received was perfect. The dinner was absolutely lovely and the staff excellent it was a special occasion my husband's 65th Birthday.

The bed was terrible every time you moved it creaked loudly and kept us awake throughout the night. The bathroom door had cotton wool balls in it to fill the gaps. Breakfast no sausages so one of us could not have an English breakfast as they did not eat bacon or black pudding. the breakfast was warm and cold toast and not hot and served on a cold plate, it was not a busy breakfast service as there was only one other couple. We also had to look at numerous dead flies along the window sill which had been there the evening before. I have tried numerous times to contact the owners to talk about our stay and that we have been in the hospitality trade ourselves in major London hotels on the food, beverage and housekeeping side. Up until now we have had a basic response from the staff. I did ask the staff when complaining to go up and check the bed, she did not when I spoke to her on a phone call later to once again speak to the owners. Looking at previous reviews I found one about the creaking bed and the picture looked very much like our room. Avoid Room 1.

The lack of WiFi

The staff were very polite and helpful, and nothing was too much of a problem. The food in the restaurant was OK but the breakfast selection was exceptional. Generally very clean in the cottage but the restaurant area not to the same standard. Great for one night not two.

Grubby carpets in the restaurant. Curtains in the cottage need a good clean. Porridge under cooked. BUT breakfast is freshly cooked and quality ingredients. Extremely polite and professional service.

Goede service, mooie kamer en badkamer. Gezellig eten in het restaurant, een pint in de pub of pizza in de tuin: allemaal mogelijk. Personeel erg vriendelijk en denkt mee! Half uurtje van de tunnel, maar prachtig gelegen op het platteland. Onze kamer was boven de pub, maar geen overlast van gehad.

Food was great. Plentiful portions and good quality. Staff were attentive and helpful A small point - our bedroom (no. 2) had a lovely bathroom (roll top bath) but no grab handles for getting into and out of the bath / shower which maybe should be addressed, otherwise all good

Sehr schönes Zimmer mit Außenbereich was sehr praktisch für unsere Hunde war, da sie so ebenerdig ins Zimmer gelangen konnten. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, das Frühstück gut und man konnte dort sehr gut abends essen.

Lovely room,good food ,great staff,lovely situation

After a stressful journey through Belgium and France and a delayed ferry crossing, we arrived far too late at The Bowl Inn. Fortunately, they were still open, and the exceptionally friendly welcome instantly made our day. After a wonderful night’s sleep and an excellent breakfast, we continued our holiday in England feeling refreshed. The Bowl Inn… always a recommendation.

Nos encantó el pub y el lugar donde está situado. La habitación en la parte antigua del pub, por ser tan antigua tiene algunos problemas de ruido por las cañerías de lo que te avisa la chica del pub. No fue un problema para nosotros. El desayuno inglés, magnífico. Pedimos que nos lo sirivieran antes y fueron muy amables en adelantarlo media hora para que pudieramos llegar al Eurotunnel a tiempo.

We were in room 4. I don’t think the shower was thought out very well with the glass screen half way across the water outlet in the shower tray, makes for not slot of room under the shower. Also the plug for the hairdryer not very accessible to the small mirror on the wardrobe

The little cottage was a perfect place to stay overnight with our dog. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The garden was a bonus and I could have stayed longer. The staff were very friendly.

The Wi-Fi was very poor unfortunately.

We liked everything, the location the ambiance the staff. It’s very popular and having now stayed there I can see why and that’s despite it being a bit off the beaten track.

The extreme heat and unfortunately we had no fan on one of the hottest days of the year!

La location è molto accogliente e lo staff tutto femminile estremamente gentile e professionale. La camera arredata con gusto, come tutto del resto, aveva letti comodi ed era molto silenziosa. Ottimo il ristorante e la colazione. Ci siamo sentiti coccolati ed è stata un ottima esperienza.

What we enjoyed most was the wonderful service from the whole team. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming and attentive throughout our stay, from the moment we arrived. They took great care of us, both during our stay and when we had breakfast and dinner there. The room was perfect, beautifully decorated with lots of care, spotlessly clean, and with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was also excellent, with a really spacious shower and great water pressure. We absolutely loved the breakfast. There was a great variety of food, all freshly prepared with care. It’s served at your table rather than being a buffet, but there are plenty of options to choose from. There was also plenty of parking right outside, which was very convenient. The pub has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere, with gentle background music and a beautiful garden where you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and unwind. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend it!

Everything about our stay was excellent, the staff went out of their way to make sure of that. We had to leave early the next day and they even provided us with a packed lunch as we were going to miss breakfast. The location was great, and service at dinner was fantastic. La situation, le charme du vieux pub, la cuisine et la gentillesse du personnel

On our trip to London, we decided to spend a night somewhere in Kent after crossing the Channel. That’s how we ended up, in the middle of nowhere, at The Bowl Inn. We had a comfortable, spotless, luxurious room, enjoyed an excellent dinner, and were treated to a delightful breakfast. In short, highly recommended if you’re looking for a place to stay in the beautiful Kent countryside.

WiFi could have been better.

Breakfast menu was varied and available to us early enough; dinner menus was great, along with a wine list all at good price points. The beds were singles and comfy, the room, like the Inn had 'old' style furniture and was very clean. The bar and meal staff were very welcoming, thank you Alice and Emma, who also provided maps of local walks. Unlike many other pubs turned table service only in the area, there is no 'service charge' added to the bills.

We were in the 'old' part of the premises and a macerator was needed to pump away the bathroom waste, which was noisy and would start at odd times, so we turned it off to sleep, hoping to remember to turn it back on again in the morning. We don't see an answer to this and it didn't spoil our stay.

A perfect overnight stay after a tiring day travelling back from France on Le Shuttle. The garden room was very nice, and it was great to have a bit of secure outdoor space for our dog. The staff were all really lovely, the evening meal and breakfast were superb. A beautiful pub with plenty of space inside, a gorgeous beer garden, and no restrictions on where our dog was allowed. Plenty of parking. We will definitely be back!

The very large adjacent room was excellent value for money.

It's a long country road once you turn off the main road so its probably best to avoid at night.

Location was good for us as fairly central in Kent meaning journies to visit places were reasonably short.

My only comment about anything slightly negative is that I thought the vegetable selections were limited and I like leeks cooked more than they were.

Das Zimmer war schön. Hohe Decken, Balkon mit Blick ins grüne und schönes Badezimmer.

Keine Klimaanlage und keinen Ventilator. Bei unserem Aufenthalt war es über 30 grad. Das Essen war an einem Tag sehr gut und lecker und leider am 2en Tag richtig schlecht. Sehr sehr schlechte Internetverbindung.

Friendly welcome on arrival and a good explanation of what we needed to know. A comfortable room, lovely shower and very good breakfast. We initially booked last thing for one night to attend a funeral but will definitely be back for a longer stay.

Wir sind mit unserem Hund angereist und hatten ein Zimmer mit eigenem Eingang und kleinem abgeschlossenen Garten mit Sitzmöglichkeiten. Perfekt für Übernachtungen mit Hund. Für den Hund gab es u.a. Näpfe und eine Decke Das Zimmer war mit vielen Details sehr geschmackvoll und liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr gut ausgestattet. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und das Essen gut und lecker, sehr gutes Frühstück. The Bowl Inn hat eine schöne Außenterrasse und weitere Sitzplätze im Garten und vor dem Haus. Es ist landschaftlich schön gelegen und man kann dort spazieren gehen. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen und war ein sehr entspannter Aufenthalt mit Hund. Leider waren wir nur eine Nacht da. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Perfect stopover before catching the train to LeShuttle in the morning. Excellent service, beautiful rooms, quiet and peaceful. This was the second stopover there, will happily return.

The Bowl Inn is a quaint old property which has been thoughtfully modernised without losing its character. Our room was small but fine for an overnight stay. The bathroom was compact but with very good facilities. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent.

The noise from the macerating loo was a little annoying but no big deal.

Great start into the holidays!

Staff were very nice and friendly. The room and hotel were very clean. The bed was very very comfortable…. Slept very well.

The room was quite basic - no chair and no dressing table or mirror for putting make up on. Bizarrely the toilet flushed with hot water, when we flushed it steam rose up.

Lovely period property and lovely use of space. Room nice but garden furniture old, rusty and broken. Good menu with the option of in house pizza. Staff serving food friendly and helpful.

There was a water shortage. No fault of the hotel but no consideration taken either. We only found out on arrival, no prior notification given. It was the hottest day of the year to date and we were unable to freshen up. Even having to pay for water at the bar despite being a resident of the hotel that night. Bar member told us to go and get the two small bottles of water from our room to have with dinner. Not good enough really, and lacking customer service by the lady behind the bar.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast and the room was tasteful decorated. Nice gesture were the dog biscuits for our dogs.

The water pressure was very low, but this was an issue in the area due to the hot weather. Not something the owners could do anything about.

The wood fired Pizza Hut in the pub garden was great for supper. We left at 4.30am for the Channel Tunnel and we were given a fabulous picnic breakfast to take with us.

I could not fault anything - all exceeds our expectations and the location for the channel tunnel perfect too.

Sadly, we didnt get to stay here as there was a water shortage in the area at the time of our booking. I value the staff contacting us as soon as possible and offering a full refund if we chose to cancel our stay. We took their offer for a refund simply because we were travelling from France in 35 degrees for past 2 days and were desperate for a shower. The communication from the Bowl in was very prompt through out which was much appreciated.

Das Frühstück war sehr gut, auf unseren Wunsch hin "traditional english breakfast" vom Feinsten. Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es war für die Jahreszeit (Mai) sehr kalt, und die Heizung funktionierte einwandfrei. Die Lage ist ländlich, mit dem Mietwagen gut zu erreichen und sehr ruhig - Das Haus bietet auch Dinner an, nach einem langen Tag in Canterbury wunderbar. Wir fühlten uns sehr gut aufgehoben und können eine große Empfehlung aussprechen.

Mooie plek, we kwamen aan op zaterdagavond en hadden niet gereserveerd voor het restaurant, hoewel het heel erg druk was, kregen we nog een tafeltje en konden we lekker eten. Ontbijt is top, aanrader!

Stated on booking that it was boyfriend's 40th birthday. Was a banner and note in the room. Dessert at dinner, and birthday wishes at breakfast again the next day by another member of staff. Really touched us how thoughtful everyone was
