Fantastic place for a lovely night away

Lovely big room with comfortable bed. Dinner was good but choices not avaiable

As a guy who uses a walking stick found the stairs a challenge. The bar eating area was rather dark and cluttered

Central town location, friendly staff and clean well appointed room.

The location was great for walking the coastal path. We ate in the restaurant and the food was lovely. Breakfast was also good.

What an incredibly friendly welcome, room was cosy, clean and tidy and a lovely bed For the night. They serve wonderful food and the pub has real atmosphere. Breakfast was great.

Clean and spacious room, perfect for a family. Loved the order-ahead breakfast menu and eating in the restaurant

Staff were very welcoming, good quality tea and coffee in the room, very good cooked breakfast especially the sausage! Room was comfortable. Free parking was a bonus.

Location was good, parking was ok, although you had to register your car every time you came back.

We had to decide what we wanted for breakfast on check-in, from a very limited menu - no yoghurts or fresh fruit, or any fruit at all. Room was much smaller and grubbier than depicted on website; if you must have plastic plants, they should at least be clean. The room was tired and tatty. There was no mirror near a socket, so it was impossible to see what you were doing when drying hair; there was a hairdryer, with a very tight curly cable, if you tried to stretch it to the mirror the plug flew out of the socket. The view from our bedroom was on to the backs of other houses, there was no privacy unless you drew the curtains, which didn't really fit the window and certainly didn't keep the light out.

TV didnt work in the bedroom. Was hoping for a small discount but staff wouldn't entertain it and said they were sending people out the day after which was no good to us. The only coffee in the room was decaf.

Problems with the WiFi which the manager explained had been an ongoing problem. Small room, needed refurbishing. Nothing like the photos on website. Was told we’d chosen the cheaper room??

It's in a good location with parking and the pub side is nice the food is good as well. The staff are really friendly. The breakfast was really nice and fresh cooked to order.

We chose to stay in Amble as it was near the famous Alnwick Castle. We were so pleased with the welcome and the overall enjoyment we got from the Wellwood Arms. Great location, easy to reach from the highway and close to the other sights we wanted to see. Room was a good size with a view over the courtyard and the beautiful flowers boxes. Just a short walk down to the harbour, with lovely views and fresh air. Comfortable room, big bathroom and the breakfast the next day was more than expected. A great place to stay and a wonderful memory. Highly recommend Wellwood Arms!

It's situated in Amble which is where we wanted to be The room layout was odd with a shower on one side of the room & toilet and basin on the other side - so 3 rooms to complete bed & en-suite. Not a problem though all good

Welcome was a bit off. Breakfast was ok if a bit DIY for tea, coffee etc. Room was small & bed was standard double. Wouldn't rush to stay again but not the worst place to be. It did the job

The location was great, a 10 minute walk down the high street to the harbour, which is the hub of activity. The room was pleasant and clean. We both found the pillows to be too soft, but that's just personal preference. Staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast was cooked to order. Free parking is always a bonus.

Guests need to be aware it is a dog friendly inn. At one point there were 5 dogs in and around the bar.

Amble is a lovely village, pub looked nice from the utaide

Constant noise in the room all night. Constant loud noise from the pub beyond 00:00am. Arrived home and had a message from the pub seemingly accusing us of breaking a bed. Second time staying and was upset the pub didnt have the same feel as prevoius stay.

The location is very good.

Breakfast wasn’t very good. No fresh fruit or yogurt. Very limited cereal selection. There wasn’t even any bread if you fancied any.

The location was perfect for visiting family in Amble. The room was fine for an overnight stay. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly.

My grandparents had a really great stay. They slept well, were delighted with the bathroom and easy access shower. They said breakfast was delicious and staff attentive.
