Hostal Hispano Gran Vía

This hostel is the perfect location, Gran via is a 4 minute walk. other attractions, restaurants and convenience stores are near the hotel, especially bars. Father down you will find tapas bars and outdoor dinning, 10-15 min walks. All kinds of transportation are around. Train station is a 20 min drive from the hotel definitely recommend

Staff very nice!

Overall this was a great option, great location was walkable from everything and was very safe! the room was clean and was perfect for a cheaper option hotel. would recommend to anyone coming to madrid

The room was perfect. Nice and tidy. Great location. Host was very responsive. I have no complaints, would gladly stay there again.

It’s a nice hostal. Very clean.

Con: The hostal is in desperate need of renovations. The rooms and bathroom are extremely small. The towels were rough and some of them had a stain on it. The garbage from the previous customer was still in the bathroom. If you need a blow dryer or iron, you have to go to the small hallway and get it from a basket. It gave me cheap motel vibes. It was expensive for a hostal. Pro: it has AC and has an elevator (it’s very small though). It is in dead center of Gran via, lots of restaurants and bars. The receptionist Israel was very helpful with planning an itinerary.

Great!

Good experience overall The hostel was clean, safe, and in a great location. Staff was professional and check-in was smooth. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I’d stay here again and recommend it to others. The location was perfect, close to everything.

Very hot stuffy room

The hostel is on the 2nd floor and difficult to find. The towels were like sand paper. The AC was nice on a hot day. Location is good, near a lot of restaurants and shops

Staff are very friendly and supportive. Clean room. Nice location.

It was very comfortable and get a relaxed. Thanks.

I had a wonderful experience at this hostel. The location is perfect — centrally located and easily walkable to shops, restaurants, and local attractions. The rooms were clean, quiet, and very comfortable, with great air conditioning which was a big plus. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient and relaxing place to stay!

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hostel is located near everything within walking distance. Highly recommend it if you’re solo or couple traveling. Will definitely re-book when re-visiting Madrid!

Location, location, location. In the heart of Madrid but far enough from noisier area. Staff were super nice and helpful. I would stay here again

Overall, it was good. Location is good and the facility is old. The rooms is rather small and the bathroom is small. There is only one soap for your face and bath and it looks a low price soap. A recommendation to the manager: Please be generous with the soap as guests need good shampoo and soap for bath.

The property is good for

Great location in lively neighborhood

A good Hostal well located in the Area Nice people and helpful. Outside fridge if needed, not at the room.

The Hostal Hispano Gran Via was a great stay—impeccably clean and the staff is incredibly helpful and kind. Highly recommend!

Good

The continous noise is unbearable even at night. There is no control. Access is very annoying, one code and two badge checks to get into hotel. Extremely tiny rooms. Dont recommend.

Property is in the heart of the city. Very good location. Shared bedroom is good and cheaper. But there's always noise anytime of the day.

Very simple hotel but well kept. Some renovations needed but expected on an old building. Rooms are well kept. The highlight is certainly its staff at the reception. Titi is one of the best I’ve seen in many years. I spend hundreds of days in hotels, I can tell the difference.

Good location, close to Gran Via... Clean . Friendly and a good value

Excellent service! You need to arrive before 6:00 pm for a soft check in.

Great property for a great price!

Good

Good for the price

Todo el personal muy atento, en especial el señor Israel fue muy profesional y explicito con sus recomendaciones para conocer la ciudad, recomendamos a todos la estancia en este Hostal, sobre todo por su perfecta ubicación

Roomed smelled like cigarettes, but everything else was great!

Nice hostel, clean room, comfy bed & good shower. Area to busy

Really clean and friendly staff, only downside is the noise from other room and from the street, but nothing you can do about, I'd really recommend

great

Excellent location, place super clean the cleaning lady did great job every single day, the guy at the reception was super nice welcoming and friendly, downside was very loud if your are by the street on a weekend there is party all night long … it is walkable to every point of interest …

good service

My experience was superb! Thats one of the reasons I am a repetitive guest and will do as possible. Great Customer Service, clean property with an amazing friendly staff!

Location is great !

VERY basic place with very friendly staff and super location for shopping , dining and entertainment .

El hostal estaba bueno , también el precio debido a la temporada y muy cerca de la gran vía . Servicio bueno.

Very basic place with friendly staff . Very good location for restaurants and shopping .

The location was phenomenal and easy access to a lot of good restaurants and attractions

Location was excellent. Quiet room with balcony. Excellent service provided by the front desk person, Israel. Took one star off the quality of bath towels but issue was minor. Quite happy with our stay.

Staff worked late to check in

This place has everything you need for a basic stay at a low cost. Good service, clean, good showers and a high quality bed. It doesn’t have premium amenities but it’s a low price in a great location. The only real issue was that the walls are extremely thin and you can easily hear everything going on in the hall or in other rooms

It was a great little place for an overnight stay before traveloing onward. The room was very clean, staff friendly and helpful and beds especially comfortable.

The staff were helpful and accommodating. The area was very active during the late evening, but it was expected for there are tons of things to do. We absolutely loved our stay at The Hostal Hispano. Highly recommend to any traveler.

My 2nd stay here. Great location for Gran Via. Plenty of food, drink and shopping options nearby by. Staff really friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

Close to gran via, but in the street there are some noisy bars and it does not feels to safe to walk at night

The staff were excellent, especially Israel - he went out of his way to help me! The room was very clean & modern & the area in Madrid was fantastic. It was also very safe with a code entry from the street and in the internal doors. The only negative was that I was woken at 2-3am on two of my nights by the guests in the next room who were talking very loudly. They were reminded of the quiet rule, but didn’t seem to care. So it wasn’t the staff’s fault - they were just inconsiderate guests.

Very nice and affordable place to stay near to the metro and the most interesting places to visit in Madrid . Have been there twice and planning to stay in the future . Thank you !

It’s a very well located place and it meets and surpasses any expectations for the price range

We were extremely UNHAPPY with the choice to stay at Gran Via. The BEST parts: the lady who checked us in was lovely. Online check in was easy enough for uploading documents. The room was very clean and the hotel is in the middle of plenty of options for dining, and all other fun things. It's a great location. The WORST THINGS: We had ONE night of decent sleep. You can hear EVERYTHING. There is nobody on duty outside of their posted hours and so nobody to monitor the constant noise in the hall. We had an interior room so this was NOT street traffic. There is no insulation or something. You can hear the room next door brushing their teeth. So obviously you can hear EVERYTHING thats coming from the hall. Even a knock down the hall sounds like its your room. We had no sleep, in turn that strained our trip. At night, be warned that the taxis will have a hard time getting here and will drop you off randomly. Its walkable, so count on doing a lot of that. I was very happy for a comfortable bed and for the proximity to everything. Outside of hearing everything, this is not the place for picky people nor tall people. The toilet puts your knees at the wall, and im 5'5". The shower/tub is half the size of standard. I don't mind any of that, but the lack of quiet in the middle of the night was ultimately why I'll never stay here again.

Friendly staff, good night sleep.

Place is nice decorate inside the rooms, clean but if someone is loud, you will heard everything

It’s a small well located place

n/a

Highly recommended. The area is very active. Pack your noise cancelling headsets since room to room noise can bother your sleep (depending on your room neighbors)

Room too small for price tag $$$. Hallway, etc. the same

Highly recommended, located in a very busy and active zone.

A little awkward to find but people were great to work with and were very helpful. Very traditional neighborhood but very close to main sights, subways and eating places. If you don’t need four star lodging and just want a clean bed this place is great. Very small bathroom but we would definitely stay here again without reservation.

Room was drab but it was clean. It was good we got there before staff left as check in after hours is via a kiosk and didn’t work for our type of reservation. I’m not sure why.

The rooms have shutters and to make it quieter from street noise, lower them to create a dead air space. This will not stop noise from the thin walls, something our neighbours should have realized as they had a loud and long late night tryst. We felt we were there…

Toilet its to close to the wall is unable to sit

Great front desk staff and awesome location.

Decent value, great location.

Muy bien hotel sencillo pero cerca de todo

Is a nice property to stay even when the room is small, only myselfx i wasnt feel like claustrophobic. Excelente para una o dos personas super localizada y conveniente si no busca lujos.

The hostal is located in a very busy street so you have restaurants, stores and metro stations all over. It's very convenient because you can walk to most places. The really bad thing is that our bathroom smelled TERRIBLE. We had to buy an air freshner and even then it didn't help. It smelled like a really dirty public toilet. Plus, the installations were not in the best shape.

People help a lot with everything tanks

This was a great property, felt very safe and was very clean. Great area of Madrid too, so central with so many places within walking distance and really good access to the metro too. My only concern was how thin the walls were, if you are a light sleeper you will hear every noise your neighbours in the rooms next to you are making, even if they’re not being noisy. For example, I could hear people getting text messages or their alarms waking them up in the morning! However if you remember to bring earplugs it was a perfect stay 👍

Great location very close to Gran Via. Staff were nice, room was good. I would recommend this place.

Everything was fine except the pillows were hard.

It was a fabulous location and the hotel was really clean. The staff were lovely. The only downside was that the website publicized an in room safe which was not true. There was none. This was disappointing but otherwise a fab stay

La ubicación excelente

Great location, cozy room. It’s good for two people max though. It was 3 adults in the room and was cramped but otherwise great for two or less people

Very convenient, walking distance from shops and restaurants

Self check in and self checkout. They clean everyday and the place was quiet

Sus instalaciones están es condiciones terribles me sacaron del su hotel engañado tuve que irme a otro lugar

The check in was easy and staff were nice and help me with all my needs

Average place to stay with arrogant staff

Stay was great they need bigger tv’s only a 13 inch tv in room

Es bueno para pasar la noche y salir a explorar la ciudad

El Staf muy amable! Muy cerca a todo.

Super easy to get to the airport, very comfortable and quiet.

Muy buen sitio cerca a todo. Stag muy amable.

Good air conditioning and clean. Very friendly staff. One morning the pipes were making a loud squealing noise from people that were taking a shower either next-door or upstairs, but apart from that it was quiet. Very conveniently located.

Amazing staff, very conveniently located

I had a great stay at the hostel, although the fact that the room only has electricity while you keep the room's key inserted in a breaker means you can't charge any devices while away. This is weird and a little inconvenient. The location is excellent, the balcony is cute, the water pressure was very good. It's a hostel, so the amenities are not luxurious: the soap works quite well and is gentle, but comes from a public bathroom dispenser, and the one outlet in the bedroom is right in the center of the bed. Staff was responsive when checking in and very helpful and friendly.

The staff was amazing! They both spoke English really well. They were welcoming, helpful, and helped us purchase train tickets with instructions on where to go. My only suggestion would be the sign outside. It’s a little small and missed the door the first. All in all, this is a great place to stay.

Great area for a first timer to Spain. Easy access to Metro, walkable to all major sights in Central Madrid. Good value compared to other spots in Central Madrid.

Simple but convenient hotel at a great location.

It was very quiet and safe. The hallways smelt like cigarettes but the rooms did not at all.

Excellent customer service.

Ok

The only thing it’s not peaceful

The guy on the reception was very helpful and polite. Thank you !

Auto check in process was easy, although I missed which room I was in. But overall good place to stay, great location

Great stay overall, incredibly easy yet safe to get in and out of the building with a key card and pin pad. You need to unlock three doors to get into your room, which left us with ease regarding safety. The front desk receptionist was wonderful, incredibly helpful and kind. Would definitely recommend!

This was the worst experience ever.
