Had connecting rooms in the old wing. They were ok for the money. Took a tour of the new building and will definitely stay there next time for the small increase in fees. New rooms look great
Another great stay at Sanawan Palace. Like many others I have been coming here for many years usually for a few days at the end of a trip. Comfortable old style family run guesthouse with a more modern hotel wing. Clean swimming pool, cold beer and great food. I always stay in the older superior room which is comfortable enough and good value at 650 Bt per night. Easy to book directly by email. Interesting local area to wander around. Go to the big temple and the old floating market nearby. Authentic and no tourists. Only 20 to 30 minutes by taxi to the airport ( this is cheaper than using Grab) go to the short distance queue if coming from the airport. Highly recommended and look forward to coming back again in 2025
Perfect little hotel near the airport. We booked a night as we had a red eye flight. The rooms are very clean, nice relaxing area in the lobby. The pool is a great size and also super clean. We stayed in a expensive hotel in Bangkok prior to staying here, but found this hotel much more to our liking. They offer 24hr food service too.
I've been coming here for years, the Sananwan I find is the go to homely place before or after any large trip in Thailand. It's close to the airport and offers great value, especially the food menu and the quality of the rooms for the price point. Another plus is that it's also not far from Pattaya, so this is the logical launching off point. Since it's outside of Bangkok proper and on the route, you’ve already got at least an hour head start on the traffic.
I will stay again, my favorite part being able to liaten to the temple twice a day. The room service was well proced and delicious, pool was perfect for my little one.
I really like the few pockets of places that the guests can hang out or eat. Not a very typical hotel set- up..giving guests space. Our room was in the old building that was quiet big. Spacious washroom too! Close to night market, wet markets and temples
Very nice employees! Good pool!
I’ve stayed here a few times down the years. I recently stayed at the start and end of my trip to Bangkok. Ridiculously good prices. Big rooms, large beds, great aircon and wonderful hospitality. Would stay again and would happily recommend. For price, you would be hard pushed to find better value for money.
Excelent with nice rooms and super friendly service. This is my favorite Hotel upon arrival and departure after a few weeks traveling in Thailand. The hotel is located in Bangphli approx. 20 minutes by taxi from the airport and 6-7 miles from the center of Bangkok. In the area around the hotel there are great markets used by the locals. Reasonable accommodation and highly recommended 👍👏 As "Wilaiva" says this is a "Home- hotel «
Just one night here but have stayed many times previously. Always good value at the beginning or end of a trip. Older rooms ok but the new wing looks better. Excellent pool to cool off and good food. What more do you need? Always go to the nearby temple and the old Bang Phli floating market. Authentic and no tourists.
Fantastic staff who go out of their way to help you. Nice breakfast and pool was beautiful. Good fun watching planes go over. We were in old part but rooms were clean and great air conditioners plus a great fan. About a 30 drive to airport. I only stayed 1 night and left for an evening flight the next day. It was so cheap. Will definitely return to this hotel again.
Very good
Check-in was quick and efficient, staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was adequately furnished with two non-descript tables, chairs, bed and wardrobe, and TV. The toilet was small, but the shower provided hot water without having to restrict the flow to a trickle (which I often have to do in more expensive rooms). A/C was quiet. Breakfast menu included cooked items or muesli, fruit and yoghurt, (my personal preference), though was not included in my room rate. "Palace' is a rather grand name to describe the establishment, which is rated 3-star, I believe, but given the modest room rates it offers excellent value. During the day planes fly low overhead as the airport is very close. My sleep was not disturbed at night, though I do have some pronounced hearing loss. My 'excellent' rating reflects the value for money and the service rather than the quality of accommodation, I chose Sananwan Palace because it was only 20 minutes' drive from Bang Pu Recreation Centre, which I wanted to visit for the teeming bird life. This is an excursion I'd recommend to anyone interested in birds and/or bird photography. November to February is the best time for shorebirds. Thousand of gulls being fed by tourists is quite a sight. I would certainly use the hotel again.
Great hotel with nice pool, cheap food and beer ( help yourself from fridge) and helpful staff. Don’t expect luxury decor but immaculately clean and pleasant to stay there-it is a bit off the beaten track though. Would stay again.
Construction is its only negative...
The staff was friendly and always helpful . It was just a absolutely a great stay ! Thanks everyone! See you next year .
I have been coming to Bangkok since 1975 this hotel rates the highest marks in homey friendly feeling and clean efficient service. great pool and wonderful 24 hr Room service. All budgets welcome, what a find, Free WiFi
It is a good place to stay near airport. Room were clean and staff was friendly. They tried to make your stay pleasant.
This is a go-to place for chilling out and enjoying great hospitality in the outskirts of Bangkok. It's close to the airport and all the short distance taxis know about the Sananwan. The staff are helpful as always, and the 24 hour food service is a huge plus. Make sure you stay by the poolside and soak up the great atmosphere.
Nice swimming pool, friendly staff, very helpful, close to million dollar toilet
We had an overnight stay close to the airport as we flew in late on the Friday night and were flying early on the Sunday. The staff (family owned) were the best thing about this accommodation. It was the cheapest room we had during our trip and for the price met all our expectations. We had a room with air on which was fine my only problem with the room was a step down to the bathroom which isn’t highlighted as it’s all in the same tile. This simply wouldn’t happen in the Uk (health and safety issue). Anyway after falling down it twice flat onto my face I remembered it was there so no harm done. This room was on the ground floor room 167i think. The room was adequate for the night with a lovely big fridge with free bottled water. The pool was a nice area and the reception with reasonably priced drinks was also good. I took advantage of the tea/coffee making facilities near the pool too. When we needed a taxi the staff were great, friendly, welcoming and helpful. Taxis are so prompt so be ready, they even arrive early! We went to McDonald’s for breakfast nearby, popped into Big C and visited the local temple and market on the Saturday(so busy....no westerners, just locals but a nice atmosphere).
a little gem close to the airport and cheap as chips
Very nice weather... Very friendly. Kind of employeed. Come back to you.
Construction going on and very disturbing pile driving noise. Construction will be going on for at least a year. No notice given about that when I booked and no discount given for putting up with the noise. No refund given as I booked on line.
Exactly as advertised. Good value for the money. Simple hotel but includes everything you need and it's close to the airport.
Not s friendly check in this time.....was not told about the noisy construction going on as I made reservations on line and no allowance was made for this. I stayed there twice before and was happy but not this time and will recommend to stay away as construction is ongoing for one year.
The hotel had great parking and very short walk to the festival we attended. The room was clean, had a fridge with bottled water, a shower, and a large bed. The pool area was great and we could order food and drinks at the pool and/or in the room. Their was also a restaurant area. Made our trip very successful.
It is our first time to Thailand and after such a long journey from the UK and feeling a little apprehensive, I am so pleased we booked this hotel. We arrived 11.30pm and we were met with smiles which put us at ease. The room was clean and there is room service 24hours so we ordered food which was brought to our room. Delicious and inexpensive- just what we needed. The air con and fan in the room were fantastic. We ate breakfast next to the pool before moving on. The staff arranged a taxi for us to go into Bangkok, very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed our very short stay, a pleasant experience to start our holiday and would recommend to anyone flying to BKK airport.
Great staff and excellent service. Will use their hotel again.
We booked this place because it was close to the airport and we are happy we did. The staff is immensely polite and helpful. Our room was clean and spacious. 24hr room service is useful. The pool is appreciated. I highly recommend this establishment.
We stayed here for 1 night based on the good reviews we read online - we just needed a good bed for the night close to the airport as we were between flights. We found this hotel to be more like a very basic hostel and in need of a lot of upgrading. It’s still quite a drive to the airport too.
Competitively priced basic hotel in the vicinity of BKK (Suvarnabhumi) airport. Rooms functional with excellent AC, 32" flat screen with one or two English language options. Large and comfortable beds. Small amount of parking on site behind hotel. Lovely pool which was spotlessly clean and ideal for small children as it has an 8" deep zone, a 21" deep zone and a standard 6 foot 6" zone for adults too. Opening hours for the pool are a bit strange (1000-2130) and on one of our two days the 1000 time was not honoured due to cleaning. Apart from the above, no issues. Slightly noisy due to boats on the adjacent canal plus due to its proximity to the airport. Probably needs marketing as a plane spotters paradise as you get good shots when the planes take-off towards the south. Unique selling point is a do-it-yourself kitchen area where you can microwave your own food and use the plentiful utensils. Good value for money. We paid THB 2,800 for 2 rooms for 2 nights with convenient interconnecting doors.
Swimming pool, AC, cable TV, Friendly staff, good foods and all that !!! And inexpensive you will surprise !!! Anyway come and try that you will know what I mean eh !!!
Stayed for one night, main reason was location to the main airport. We flew internally from Phuket and wasn't flying back to Manchester for an further 24 hours. Taxi (metered) is around 250 Baht. (approx. 15km away - 20min) What can I say! For £30 a night for 4 was perfect, Ok it isn't the Ritz, but clean, and reasonably comfortable with 2 double beds and 2 bathrooms. We were in the older part of the building, very quirky but great for one night. The hotel caters for long term lets, locals, bag packers and like us one night stays for the airport. The pool is perfect with very cheap food and drinks available 24 hours. 100 baht for Thai food and only 75baht for a large local beer (150 - 200 in the centre). We met the 'semi retired' owner 'Dick' who owns it with is Thai wife. Great guy from Whitby UK, who sat with us for while telling some very interesting stories. The location has plenty of temples to explore with a large market and shopping centre within 10 min walk., you can also take your own food n drink back to the hotel no problem. Overall its was a very relaxing end to our holiday.
Staff were so friendly and always keen to help with everything. Loved the local market and temples. Felt really authentic with few westerners and amazing food. Swimming pool was perfect although with Jet lag it would have been great to have pool access before 10am but I understand that it could have disturbed other guests.
This is your home away from home. Everybody is kind and helpful and the Ladies at the reception Speaks very god english. We stay In two large connected superior rooms, very clean with fridge and Nice Big beds. The pool is very clean and the food served here 24/7 is tasty and cheap. The place is charming with tropical plants everywhere. Bang Phli has a Big old charming market and beautiful temples. Sananwan Palace is our favorite place to stay In Thailand !
I usually come to Thailand twice a year during the holidays and at the beginning and the end of a trip, the Sananwan Palace is the ideal spot. From the Suvarnahumi airport you can take a short distance taxi and they know the area. The food is delicious and the menu has a wide selection, as well you can enjoy the swimming pool. I can't think of a better spot than here for value of money. If you want to go to downtown Bangkok there are a number of local transport options and the staff are helpful to arrange taxis or provide info, whatever you prefer. Nearby the area is not far from temples, markets, BigC, Home Pro, and coffee shops. Best of all you're away from the hustle and bustle and can enjoy some chilled out peace and quiet and great sleeps.
Good food, nice pool and 24 hours room service, near airport
It's simple and has all the basics if you're staying here as an overnight or transit passenger and don't want to get far away from airport.
It was good overall and stayed there 3 times within a 2 month period. It was convenient for me and enjoyed te daily morning swim in their nice size pool. Staff were friendly and reception was good, efficient and spoke good English. Would recommend and stay again.
Quick check in, friendly staff with good English.
A Hidden Treasure ....And very close to great placea in Bangkok
Great hotel, great facilities, staff were super friendly
Stayed here for 2 nights after arriving in Thailand and it was a great choice. The room was very clean, there is 24 hour room service with cheap food and a pool which was very clean and never too busy. The one issue with Sananwan Palace is the distance away from the centre of Bangkok, with an uber costing around 360 baht and it can take a while with traffic, however the hotel offers an 80 baht taxi service to the nearest BTS skytrain which then costs a further 65 baht for a single journey into the city centre which will take about an hour in total. Nevertheless, the area around the hotel has a decent number of things to do with it's own floating market and a number of temples including one which contains a huge reclining Buddha. All of these temples could be seen from our room window aswell. Overall, I would highly recommend for a short stay at either end of a holiday as you won't find better value anywhere else and the staff were very smiley and spoke very good English.
The staff were so nice and went out of there way to help. The rooms were very clean and bed very comfortable. This is a very basic hotel, OK for one or two night stay
Very reasonable prices, clean rooms, nice pool and very friendly and helpful staff in a good location. Staff is willing to assist with things like finding transportation and giving directions. Also has food service. Will stay there again.
When we arrived, the driver stayed until we had seen the inside because the outside did not look so great. The inside was a gorgeous oasis of good clean fun. The upstairs pool and restaurant were lovely and lushly tropical. The bed comfortable and the room very clean. The daily water came in refillable glass bottles, which is so much better than single use plastic. We loved Sananwan Palace.
Friendly and helpful staff, restaurant on site, swimming pool - all excellent. The room is noisy due to the nearby airport
Wish we had found this little jewel when we arrived. Lovely place and amazing staff. Close to airport. Will definitely go back. I don’t usually write reviews but this place dererves a 5star value for money.
The hotel was lovely the staff are really friendly can't do enough to help you.
noisy and loud ,less privacy, old fashioned hotel.More a hostel or a homestay but not a hotel.
perfect spot to rest and recuperate after/before long flights
They were super helpful in every way. I had to go to the dentist And one of the workers gave me a ride when she got off work.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel had a lovely patio and was very close to the Bang Phli market and temples.
The staff was great. Food also very good and available 24hours. Pool is very nice as well
Simple and clean place to stay. Far from the tourists areas.
The property has a very nice pool. Good for, and rooms are comfortable. People seemed eager to help 😊
We arrived around 1:30am after a long flight. Staff were very helpful and friendly. They told us about the area and places to see the next day. The kitchen is open 24hours. We had a delicious pad thai brought to the dining area by the pool. We also had breakfast there in the morning. They also called us a cab to take us to downtown Bangkok the next day and spoke to the cab driver for us as his english was poor. Overall a Wonderful stay. 10/10 would stay again. Would recommend to anyone.
This is sO good for the price, was blown away! Lovely pool and seating area, delicious range of good price food / room service. People at front desk very very helpful with cheap routes for travel, room was also lovely and clean with a little balcony. Was quite far out from central Bangkok but cheap to get there via public transport. Would best reccomend after /before a flight to relax! Amazing place!!!
To. Far from city , too much money spend for transportation
Incredible value for the price
Super friendly staff and excellent service. Area is a ok with a large market nearby. Not touristy once you leave the resort. One tip: dont sit at the picnic table over the koi pond I got 100s of mosquito bites on my legs. Otherwise it's more than a fair deal for the price. Would return.
wonderful character of the property and great staff, beware the late night drunk guests
Hotel is very basic . That’s why it’s cheap also. However it has a pool that is a big plus point although I didn’t use it . Main thing is staff the guy at reception was too good. We booked one room and had two kids . He gave us two rooms connected for price of one . That’s called excellent care because we have kids . I ate food from them . Food was resonantly priced and won’t say excellent but was good . As I needed food in room was tired to go anywhere out . Someone on budget with low expectation from room can stay here . Service will be excellent and can get chance to eat food next to pool Which is not possible to get in £25 worth room .
Very close to the airport, nice size pool, food good, decent portion sizes
Lovely staff, pool is great and food is served when requested.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sananwan. They were very friendly and treated us like family. I mentioned when we checked in that we had an excursion 3 hours away, and a couple days later they let me know about a bus going to the town and the cost. I had only just mentioned it in passing, but they remembered and even did research. You just can't find that kind of attention anymore. Plus, the very first night I had asked what was available to do late night, and Bang actually drove my husband and I to a local night market to check out. The only thing I will say - and this is NOT against Sananwan Palace - is that while they are in fact "close" to the airport (closer than Bangkok), they are far from central Bangkok. You have to take a taxi (or brave a songthaew if you have the time) to get to the nearest BTS station. THEN from there, you can go into central Bangkok. And if you're interested in Chatuchak market, prepare for a trip to the BTS, then riding it quite far down to Mo Chit. Even with taking a taxi, it took us a little over an hour to get from Sananwan to the market. That said, if you don't feel like braving the crowds of central Bangkok, there are a number of really nice markets and shopping places right in Bang Phli. The hotel is right around the corner from Wat Bang Phli (a local temple), and it is stunning. From there, you can get to an old wooden market as well as the Big C Supercenter. Overall definitely recommend Sananwan Palace.
Ideal hotel in vibrant neighborhood approximately 15 minutes from BKK airport. We stayed for one night between flights. Staff was truly exceptional. The hotel itself is comfortable and quite pretty. Hot water in room. The a/c worked well. Bed was comfortable. We were grateful for the 24 room service, and only wish the weather had been a bit warmer for a swim in the clean outdoor pool. Truly a find!
It was very nice
We stayed for one night to catch an early flight from Bangkok. We had two superior connecting rooms. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean with fan and air con. Great clean pool. Good food available too. The staff are very helpful and can help with local travel and transfers to other parts of Thailand at good prices. The local area is actually worth a look too, markets, malls and Wats are close by.
This family run hotel was very warm and accommodating to my needs. The staff was incredibly helpful and willing to work with my needs. The location was convenient to other attractions and the rate was very economical for the area. Highly recommended hotel - would definitely go back.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean with a well working AC. Didn't get to try the menu but it looked great and is served 24 hours a day. The pool was nice and the beer was cold. Short taxi ride to the airport. Would stay there again.
Very nice place, the pool is nice, the food too, the room too and the staff is friendly and helpful! The only thing is, it’s a little far from city centre but besides that I would stay there again if possible.
I enjoyed my stay in the hotel with its excellent service, food and room. It is very conducive for relaxation but too far from shopping centers and tourist destinations.
They treat you like family . Take care of all your needs . Thank’s Bank for all you help !!!!
Very friendly people who welcomed me and organised everything that I needed. Very much appreciated.
I never went a no show my friend let me down .
its worth it for the price you pay dont go to 4 star hotel the pictures in 4 star hotel its lie ! what you see in that hotel its what you get no expensive and very good staff and free water what you will need to pay in 4 star hotel ,save your money and stay in that hotel
Place and neighborhood a bit shabby so off putting at first, but the friendly staff and quietness made up for that. The pool area is a great place to interact with others and there are plenty of hidey holes where you can read a book in peace.
Although it was not my case, it seems to be made for long stays. Most customers were foreign tourists and it is convenient if you want to spend some time in the hotel, as it has a nice swimming pool and a nice in-site restaurant.
Second time stayed here. Good place for a couple of days jet lag unwind. Planes a bit noisy during the day time. Cheap, basic but good enough.
24 room service reasonable prices. Curious staff. Good atmosphere. Got hear late. Chose our room t suit our budget. Settled in & slept soundly after room service bought up meals. Woke up had breakfast once again delivered to our room. Quite satisfactory
We had a great time with the people we met at this hotel. We didn’t get a room with air conditioning but would definitely spend the extra for that next time. The food and service were great! Location to the market was great. Only problem was we got badly bitten by bedbugs. I don’t want to come down too hard on the hotel because other than that it was great. I know it is impossible to prevent bedbugs because they come in on other people. We were the only ones staying there that we met that had the problem so hopefully it was contained to just our room. We showed the staff our legs and made them aware of the situation so hopefully they burned those mattresses and replaced them with new ones. Just be sure to check your mattress for tell tale signs if you stay there, or any hotel really. It’s very easy to see the signs and worth taking 15 seconds to do as the bites are extremely irratating.
Staff are helpfull with providing support for solving personal problem. Help explain situation and need to next booked hotel.
I would surely recommend the hotel to others if you are planning for your trip to Bangkok . Metro rails (BTS) are easily accessible . Hotel staffs will guide you to the nearest landmarks and connectivity . They offer various Thai cuisines on paid basis . Food is very yum and fresh .
Good hotel close to the airport only thing is it's far from the city center
Out in the sticks but 15 mins from main inter airport. Huge room, big shower area with balcony. Great pool & outdoor eating area. Staff friendly & excellent. Very convenient for main airport. Would certainly stay there again.
My favorite airport hotel in Bangkok. Not near anything, but otherwise a perfect hotel for a Bangkok layover for making a nice night's sleep. Super prompt, efficient, wake up calls and taxi ordering service, kind, and help you with your luggage. Not a 5 star or high end place, but they do all the things that matter very well. Comfortable mattress, quiet, clean smelling room, wifi is pretty good, and there is a even a pool. Food is 24/7 room service and quite decent thai food with some western selections. Really amazing to get such a decent place for this price point. Old school Thai style, and hope it stays around a long time.
We booked this last minute for a bit of peace in a quiet part of Bangkok we hadn't seen before 30/45 mins from BKK airport. Really friendly staff made us feel very welcome, even with our thick Glasgow accent check in went relatively smooth. booked a superior room with a fan, own wet-room and TV and a great view of the temples and city. The hotel is within walking distance of two temples and the old market on the canals. Lots of local shops and food stalls but we stayed in the hotel for food as it was very reasonably priced and able to cater to my food allergies. Really nice plants and wildlife in and around the hotel with info about it displayed on the corridor walls. Early morning transfer to the airport is a set 220bht (roughly £5) for a 40 min taxi ride when booked through the reception. The pool area was the best with loads of plant life, and koi pools. Situated between the 2 main buildings is the shared kitchen and eating area, giving you the option to bring in your own food and use their utensils and crockery, just clean up after yourself and leave 10bht for tea, coffee, or water which are all available 24/7. This makes the perfect sun-trap and keeps the deep swimming pool and paddling pools warm throughout the day. The love birds at the end of the pool are lovely and the owner and her British husband keep everything looking good with the help of their staff.
I had a lovely stay at the Sanawan Palace, The Staff were So Nice and Friendly , They helped me with my Golfing trips and were such a lovely bunch of people were nothing seemed to much trouble, I will certainly be staying again in the future, Many Thanks Sanawan Palace
Great service at desk, arrived next day and they a accommodated us no problem whatsoever.
It was just amazing !!!!! lovely hotel vry comfortable . Vry kind staff . Clean. Beautiful pool. Feel lik home away frm home .
Great place to spend your last night or two in Bangkok. Really good night market down the street behind the gas station for fresh food, Big C in walk distance other direction. Pool good place to get a tan while winding your trip down. This place is on the outskirts of the city so not good for xtended stay. Always end my trip here before I hit the friendly skies for trip home.
This is a very user-friendly place to be, nice pool, great food, and the management go out of their way to be helpful. Would definitely go back.
We booked this hotel as a list minute stay in lieu of sitting in the BKK airport for 7 hours. just needed a place to crash and refresh. And this was absolutely perfect. just like the pictures and other reviews, it's a great stay when your going in or out of Bangkok. room was clean, quiet and peaceful. the pool was clean and refreshing. food was perfect and affordable. the owners and staff were amazing. they went out of their way to make us comfortable even though we weren't even staying an entire day! that is some true hospitality. we will gladly return when traveling through the area again. thank you !!!
Met heaps of fellow travellers, made a couple of new friends
Although our stay was short because we had to catch an early flight, the staff and facilities were perfect. When we arrived, they met us at the cab to welcome us and to take our luggage in. They then showed us to our room and carried our luggage. They also arranged for our taxi the next morning and made sure we were up in time. Finally, we had an issue with some lost luggage, and they helped us with that. They went above and beyond. I highly recommend!
It was a really great stay in Sananwan Palace. I'll definitely recommend it to my friends.
Outward appearances suggest caution, but the hotel is very clean and comfortable. It has all the amenities of a four star hotel on a smaller scale. The restaurant is available 24/7 and serves a wide variety of local and western selections for a very reasonable price. This hotel offers real value and is near some popular tourist attractions and the airport. I will definitely be returning.
I came in on a Sunday and walked around the corner to an AMAZING old market alongside the Klong river next to a beautiful old and giant temple. If you like that kind of stuff it's the best hotel for the money in Bangkok. If you want to be around restaurants (or even street venders) this is a dead zone. absolutely nothing to do at night. Even the swimming pool (very nice pool) shuts down at 9 pm.
