I didn’t really like the bed that was provided for me. It wasn’t comfortable, although some people enjoyed it. It was also too low for my liking.

Dear Purple Olive Guest House Team, I would like to offer my sincerest and most heartfelt apology for wrongly accusing your guest house and staff of stealing my cellphone and mobile Wi-Fi router. After arriving home, I discovered that both items had been in the pocket of my jacket the entire time. Realizing this, I was deeply embarrassed and immediately understood that my accusations were completely unfounded. I take full responsibility for my mistake. I know that my words may have caused unnecessary stress, inconvenience, and hurt to your staff, whose honesty and professionalism I unfairly questioned. For that, I am truly sorry. Please accept my sincere apologies for any trouble, concern, or damage my accusations may have caused. I regret not checking my belongings more carefully before reaching such a conclusion. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope you will accept my apology. I wish you and your team all the very best for the future.

The staff was very welcoming and professional, our room was neat. We enjoyed our stay regardless of the incident. Unfortunately our host does not choose who they accommodate.

Some guests ruined our night in two occasions,same night, different times by banging on our door,regardless of me telling them the room is occupied they kept knocking so hard,had to call the host to sort it out and they had no remorse the following morning.

Localização é ótima, fica em bairro tranquilo e seguro. A moça que nos recepcionou (Ana salvo engano) é atenciosa e educada. O café da manhã foi muito bom. O quarto era grande, confortável e atendeu às necessidades, mas a cama ficou devendo (parece que na parte do meio tinha buraco devido ao elevado uso) e o banheiro, apesar de limpo, era precário. Fiquei apenas uma noite, por isso não posso fazer avaliação mais profunda (não usei a piscina). Atendeu minha necessidade.

A cama, pelo uso, era mais funda no meio, onde fica a lombar, isso dificultou dormir (eu já fui operado de hérnia discal). O banheiro ficou devendo pela precariedade, mas era bem limpo.

Beds were comfortable, hot water available,rooms were warm and clean.Staff very friendly.Breakfst was ok and they prepared takeaways for breakfast for us as we couldn't sit and eat.Our event was starting early.Beds were comfortable,however, they need to put extra blankets in the wardrobe.

My kids were at room 8,it had a bad smell,we were not sure what it was,but it was bad.The water was brown and we were told it's from borehole,in the evening they use it and during the day, they use municipal water.Unfortunately we couldn't see how the water was during the day as we were out the whole day.As clean as the rooms were,we found 2 coakroaches in room 10.The guesthouse needs some revamp.There has to be more options in the rooms for us coffee lovers,I think putting fresh milk and creamer will be better. Please provide shower caps as well.

Cold water all the way in winter, how can one shower with cold water in winter. I did not shower on the day

The location is perfect and safe. The Aircon worked very well in this cold weather. Parking very good but needs some cover. The pricing can be competitive to match the area only if the facility is updated.

The furniture is very old, tiles too cold for winter, bedding felt like in the 60’s. No carpeting for your feet at the bed side. Need self catering units with small kitchen facility. Designed for one day stay and not weekend getaways. Sliding doors needs updating. Bathroom is outdated.

Due to my schedule I had to check in early and check out early. The establishment was very understanding and made all effort to accommodate my request. I especially must thank the morning staff, they only came aware of my early departure in the morning, asked if they could make me a take-away breakfast, and literally ran around the kitchen and prepared my take-away breakfast, To them a BIG THANK you. I was extremely great full.

I think my batroom was newly renovated. So there was no mirror over the sink to see myself😊

A good coat of paint will go a long way to make the rooms look better. Sometimes if is difficult to lock the room door.

The property, units, and parking area were all clean, neat, and secure. This was the perfect stopover for me. Next time, I will definitely stay an extra day or two! Everything was incredibly comfortable, and the host was friendly, accommodating, and welcoming throughout our stay. The breakfast was also an excellent addition to an already fantastic experience.

It was clean, but more attention is needed to detail. Eg the corners of the shower floors.

The accommodation is given four stars on your platform, as well as a ‘thumbs up’ sign, but it should be reviewed. Detail eg two broken bed lamp shades, mattrasses are not up to standard and uncomfortable. A lot of water from showering spilled into the room onto the floor and up to the foot of the bed.

Friendly staff

The staff is fantastic. Miss Anna and her crew manages to do an outstanding job under difficult circumstances. The owner or owners should appreciate them and treat them like gold, as they are helpful, very friendly, work hard all day long, go out of their way to keep everyone happy, cleaning the rooms and outside area. The garden is lovely and well kept ans very clean. The hotwater issue was fixed, even though the temp may fluctuate when someone in another room opens a tap. The ladies and the gentleman are the best thing here. The area suited us well and the guest house is located in a nice quiet suburb.

The general state of the premises. It needs a lot of work to just bring it up to standard. Ceiling in the lounge/ kitchen area coming down and it looks like black mold under it. Construction debris in the back of the yard by parking, door handle in room broken off and not repaired, bathroom door not fitting the opening, no hangers, not enough linen to go around if it rains and laundry doesn't dry, putty in windows look bad and needs replacing, needed repairs in bathroom covered with tape, no GFI in bathroom, general area needs an upgrade on inside. Building looks like its falling apart on the side where you enter, with hole and missing bricks. Real pillows would be nice ( and 2 for each person) pictures shown were taken very long ago when everything was newer, would be nice to have more variety at breakfast and not have to choose between juice and coffee. The geyser sounds like its going to give in at any minute. The building needs a good paint. All in all the feeling is that the staff is not being supported and the owner runs the business as cheap as possible, cutting corners. I wont go back and if it wasn't for the staff, I would have left a day after arriving.

The rooms we were booked were full of cockroaches even inside the fridges. The cupboards are old with holes the showers the drain system is not working properly. The WiFi was not working

The level of cleanliness was fantastic... The staff were so friendly and helpful in every way. It was comfortable and really just pleasant.

Nothing we did not like... Just here and there the place needed some tlc but that did not affect our stay whatsoever. Just things we noticed that the owner can improve on in time. The guesthouse and location is fantastic, the staff is phenomenal, the cleanliness is on point. The building just needs some love.

The hospitality of the two ladies (on duty on the 25th and 26th) was exceptional, as they were friendly and always willing to assist whenever needed. The room was well cleaned and comfortable.

1. Tight parking spots. Maybe have marked parking spots. 2. Have sockets where one can plug in their computer or plug in multiple devices and work during the stay.

Check-in was a breeze. The staff overall was attentive and professional. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and was well worth it. I would recommend Purple Olive Guest House to anyone needing accommodation in the area.

The television setup could have been better. The one room had Shomax, but the other had nothing available unless you used your own credentials or account. I would have preferred some streaming service in place or at least basic DsTV.
