Embora, na sua maioria os funcionários fossem muito simpáticos e disponíveis, houve dois mais jovens ,que fugiam à regra nalgumas vezes que me aproximei do bar … ignoravam a pessoa ao balcão ou ficavam a olhar um para o outro até que algum se decidisse a atender , visivelmente contrafeito … são uma jovem e um jovem e não exponho os nomes na esperança de que, sinceramente, evoluam e melhorem no atendimento

Muito bem situado, junto às praias, é excelente para três estrelas. A varanda com vista para o mar é muito agradável.

Lo mejor la ubicación del hotel, fantástica, la avenida de la puerta principal del hotel súper tranquila y el acceso a la playa y paseo marítimo y restaurantes por la puerta de la piscina genial !!. El trato del personal del hotel muy amables. Mi habitación con vistas al mar!! La piscina y el césped!!. La playa fantástica!!

El desayuno es bastante pobre y poco variado. Relación calidad-precio no muy bien. Las habitaciones deberían ser reformadas, mi lavabo, bañera y azulejos estaban estallados y los accesorios del baño muy viejos y malos y el techo del cuarto baño muy mal. La bañera debería tener mampara no cortina por higiene y la presión de la ducha muy floja.El bidé y la cisterna del water muy bien. El aire acondicionado del hotel fabuloso La decoración de las habitaciones muy antiguas y es una gran pena porque reformándola y también reformando cuarto baño ganaría muchísimo el hotel, quedaría un gran hotel y no tendría envidia a ninguno de más estrellas. Estas cosas ya hace años que lo están diciendo los usuarios pero el hotel no hace caso. Teniendo en cuenta todo el precio me parece bastante caro

Quartos precisam de modernização, sobretudo a nível das casas de banho. Num dos quartos, o porta rolos estava partido e o lavatório estava entupido. Apesar de avisarmos na recepção, nada fizeram. Não existem copos para escova e pasta de dentes. Pequeno almoço abaixo das expectativas.

Great hotel, friendly staff and a brilliant location right next to the beach and plenty of restaurants. Basic room but clean and a great shower. Breakfast was lovely and food at the bar was also great. Could do with a few more sunbeds around the pool.

Locatie is echt veilig en dicht bij zee en shoppen. Ontbijt echt beperkt en elje dag zelfde en saai en niet echt lekker. Zwembad was goed en schoon.

Ontbijt vond ik niks en ik moest voor laatste dag voor 2 personen betalen maar ik moest 6 uur weg en geld krijg je niet terug en als jij niet betaald dan kan jij ook niet hotel reserveren.

Overall, a wonderful pleasant stay at Hotel Luar! It turns put it looks even better in person as the photos do on the Internet. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast and food was served well, and our hotel room was spacious and was cleaned well everyday that we were there. The location is excellent! The beach is literally behind the hotel and the pool is the perfect size for a swim or cool off.

A few improvements would make it a solid 4.5 stars: Pool - There needs to be clear markers that indicate how deep the pool is. Especially near the red mushroom - it's appearanace appeals to children, but it's a deep area of the pool! Plug sockets - More plug sockets should be installed around hotel rooms. There was only one near my bed, and that was because I had to unplug the lamp. Hangers/Pegs in the bathroom - The bathroom was great, but it needs a peg or hanger near the bath so you can hang you towel or clothes up when exiting the bath. Furniture - The public furniture around the hotel is very comfortable, but is in need of a good clean. It's gives the wrong impression when you can see stains or crumbs in a couch. Hotel Theme/Style - I personally like the old school look of the hotel, but it can be easily seen as being dated. The hotel either needs to update to more modern furniture and interior, or own their dated style and market themselves as 90s themed hotel with retro furniture. Hope the feedback helps!

Good location, nice pool area. Was quiet. Beds ok and came with air conditioning. Did have a fridge.

Shower was terrible, ran out of hot water, could not angle shower head. No jug or tea/coffee .

We have visited Luar Hotel for 8 years on & off now. This year was absolutely fabulous, our room & view was stunning. The breakfast was lovely. The service at breakfast & at the bar & by the pool was excellent, such lovely staff, nothing was a problem. The team behind the counter are good.. could be a tad more friendly. The location is absolutely brilliant, top of the strip, just across the street from the sea. The hotel is spotless & housekeeping are absolutely excellent & so through, they are a credit to this hotel. The food by the pool is good. Cocktails lovely! So the best recommendation I can give is we have booked again for next year. It's a fabulous hotel. Looking forward to returning.

Hotel Luar, thank you and well done.My family & I had a great time here. Its just a cool place. Its not a top luxury hotel but what you get is a clean, friendly, welcoming hotel whose staff are the biggest selling point along...aswell as the hotel location. Very clean rooms- with hard working cleaning ladies, great pool for adults and kids. The people working at the front desk and the at the bar are perfect too. Breakfast choice isnt its strong point but its plain and adequate. The bedrooms/ensuite need updating but room size is good. All of the hotel is very clean and looked after well. I found it great value for all I needed. Keep up the good work HotelLuar. Thanks again.

Location was excellent! It was walking distance to the beach, supermarket and all restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean. We requested early check in and it was so nice to get it! Swimming pool is such a bonus! Breakfast was excellent! We didn't have any problems with the noise We would stay there again and recommend it to friends.

Absolutely amazing hotel in a great location. The whole Atmosphere here is second to none, every member of staff I spoke to was so happy, smiley and friendly. The reception staff were very welcoming, the bar staff are always happy to have a chat and are so kind and caring, the housekeeping staff do an amazing job at keeping the hotel and rooms upto a great standard. This is a very chilled hotel with variation of all ages.

We didn’t quite know what to expect when we arrived, but any apprehension we had disappeared the moment we checked in. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by a very friendly member of the reception team, Vincent, if my memory serves me correctly. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and when we asked for a dinner recommendation, he kindly suggested a nearby restaurant. I have to say, the food was absolutely delicious! Our room was spotlessly clean from day one and was maintained to an exceptionally high standard every day throughout our stay. We were also lucky enough to have a beautiful sea view, which made our stay even more special. We didn’t spend much time around the pool as we had several tours booked and preferred exploring the local beaches. However, it was clear that the pool area was cleaned every evening and kept to a very high standard. In fact, the hotel as a whole was immaculate throughout our stay. The location couldn’t have been better, with everything we needed close by. My wife and I had a wonderful holiday, and we’d like to thank all the staff for their warm hospitality and for making our stay so enjoyable. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

la piccola porta che da accesso diretto al lungomare, durante i giorni del festival, era sempre chiusa. Capisco i motivi di sicurezza ma il cancelletto è talmente piccolo che può essere scavalcato, quindi non ha senso tenerla chiusa e costringere gli ospiti a fare tutto un giro assurdo

Super budget hotel , super clean rooms and staff so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good a good selection. The location is fantastic right at the end of the strip so very quiet the steps to the beach are just across the road. We had a wonderful holiday relaxing but busy if you want to walk the strip and get a nice evening meal. Huge big up to the cleanliness and cleaners super job nothing is to much trouble. Huge big up to the pool guy to who keeps it clean and immaculate! We will be back

A única coisa foi mesmo o chuveiro, é antigo e a água sai em jato, a Wc precisa de remodelação mas como tudo o resto foi excelente isso acaba por nem ter importância.

We absolutely loved our week at this hotel. Was a bit apprehensive after reading some negative reviews before we came but we honestly couldn't fault our stay. Yes the rooms are a little old fashioned but I think that adds to the charm of it. Our room was spotlessly clean. The lady that cleaned our room 305 was so lovely always happy and smiley. We had a lovely side sea view was lovely sitting on the balcony watching the world go by. We fell in love with a beautiful black dog living in the house opposite loved watching him/her enjoying life. I've seen a few negatives about the free breakfast but we honestly really enjoyed it. There was plenty of choice. Really loved the raisin swirly pastries and the coffee from the machine was the best machine coffee I've ever tasted! The hotel itself is in a perfect location literally a 5 minute walk to all the bars and restaurants but lovely and quiet. We are missing our wonderful holiday so much but hopefully we will be back soon!

The preparation and cooking from Elia, Okasana, Greto. Very Flavorful and lots of options for all guests. Great music playing in the background within this friendly and clean environment. The bar/restaurant crew smiling and supportive for lunches, dinners, and drinks. Fabio, Lucas, Dilien , Camila, Alfonso constantly as busy as they were always there for me with a smile and ready to take my order. Behind the scenes were Fernanda, Bruna, Vanessa not to be unnoticed as they were delivering pure deliciousness. I miss that Portuguese steak sandwich! The menu offers lots of options and is very flavorful. The inside lounge area has comfortable seating with tables, pool table, darts and a TV screen. The housekeeper besides room maintenance Veronica constantly brought me warm smiles everyday and provided the soaps and towels to ensure I was fresh and clean all the time. The pool is still glorious as mentioned last year! This time Goncalo Rosa would bring the finest Portuguese guitar of unique sounds to dance and chill. Don’t forget to book your massage with Maria. She is very talented and will take great care of your muscles, aches, or areas of tension to make you feel relaxed. I learned this time they even offer an open air cinema for movies to enjoy. I did not experience this as there’s a specific schedule and my visit was just afterwards. Hopefully next time. Whatever you need they will figure it out and make it happen. They can easily assist with airport transfer, activities, and beyond Come experience Hotel Luar for yourself!

Fantastic stay, staff are so warm and friendly. All the facilities where immaculate. Cocktails and food at the bar are very reasonably priced and very nice. Only thing i would say to improve in maybe include a kettle in the room so you can make tea and coffee. The location is fantastic, literally a 2 minute walk to the beach, bars and shops. On Sunday the had live music pool side which gave a very relaxing atmosphere. We had a pool and sea view room and even though it over looked the busiest part of the hotel our room was very quite and we had no disruptions. Highly recommend and will definitely be booking another stay here. .

Rooms are very basic and dated. We managed to get loungers by the pool each day however expect this to be an issue if travelling in peak season. Portimão is a nice destination with a fantastic beach, the hotel offers very good sea views. Rooms do not have facility to make hot drinks. Air-con units are stand-alone type. Good selection of food & drink in buffet style breakfast. Pool snack bar toasted sandwiches were amazing too; drinks are not subsidised so expect to pay €5 for a large beer, €4 for a large Pepsi, this can rack up costs quite quickly so we bought drinks from a mini-market 200 yards away & stored in the mini-fridge in the room. Only one door card is issued which is also required to operate the electric in the room, so electric is off when you’re out of the room. There are safes but they need to be hired. Staff were incredibly friendly & helpful. The site was well cleaned.

Die Lage des Hotels war super, man konnte mit kurzen Fusswegen überall hinkommen, Bar, Strand, Restaurant, Geschäfte, Supermarkt alles in der Nähe. Die langen sonnigen Abende konnte man noch bis um 21:00 am Strand mit Bar und Restaurant verbringen, herrlich.

Im Frühstücksraum gab es ein Büffet, das war reichlich, doch eins hat uns gestört dort gab es nur eine Sorte Wurst, und die wurde kaum gegessen. Bitte eine größere Auswahl anbieten, mit Salami und Schinken schmeckt allen.

Stayed early June. The hotel is very clean and run well. It is in a great location. It has beautiful gardens, a lovely pool and is peaceful yet close to restaurants and the beach. Had a great stay and hope to return soon.

My stay at Hotel Luar was a complete surprise birthday gift from my children for my 50th birthday, and what a memorable surprise it turned out to be. To be honest, when we first arrived at around 9:30–10:00pm, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. From the outside, and considering the way the hotel is positioned, I initially wondered whether I was going to enjoy the stay as much as I had hoped. The area was very quiet, and there was just one gentleman on reception when we arrived. However, first impressions can be deceiving. Check-in was smooth, quick and professional. Once we entered our room, I still had a few reservations, but the moment I opened the balcony doors everything changed. Standing there looking out towards the beach, with the beautiful sea view stretching before us, I realised we had found something special. We had a partial sea view, but it felt much more than that. The sight of the ocean every morning was absolutely wonderful. As someone who drinks a lot of tea, I noticed there wasn't a kettle in the room. I went down to reception and spoke to the gentleman I had met earlier, who I later learned was called Miguel. He listened carefully, explained that one would be arranged the following morning, and true to his word, it was there exactly as promised. It's often the little things that make a difference, and Miguel's willingness to help immediately stood out. The room itself was prepared beautifully for us, with the twin beds thoughtfully arranged into one larger bed. It was clean, comfortable and exactly what we needed for a relaxing few days away. Breakfast each morning was a pleasure. Unfortunately, I didn't catch the name of the lady working there, but her smile could light up the entire restaurant. Every morning she greeted guests warmly, always smiling, always cheerful and always welcoming. She genuinely made breakfast feel like the best start to the day. There was also a very tall young gentleman working around the bar and restaurant area who was equally impressive. Polite, friendly, professional and always smiling, he represented the hotel wonderfully. We spent time in the swimming pool, which wasn't heated and certainly felt cold at first, but once we got in we had a fantastic time. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we barely wanted to get out. Sometimes the best holiday moments are the simplest ones. The location of Hotel Luar turned out to be one of its greatest strengths. Through the rear entrance, we discovered several excellent restaurants just a few minutes' walk away, including some fantastic Indian halal restaurants. Everything was incredibly convenient and easy to reach. But the real highlight came when we explored the beach during the daytime. Nothing could have prepared me for the breathtaking beauty of Praia da Rocha. The golden cliffs, dramatic rock formations and stunning coastline genuinely left me speechless. It was one of those rare moments where you stop walking, look around and simply admire what is in front of you. The beach is spectacular. What also impressed me greatly was the atmosphere throughout the area. The people of Portugal, along with the holidaymakers we met, were polite, respectful and friendly. There was no noise, no unpleasant behaviour and no disruption. It felt peaceful, relaxed and welcoming everywhere we went. Over our three-day stay, Miguel continued to be incredibly helpful. I am one of those guests who tends to ask a lot of questions while travelling, and I found myself visiting reception regularly. Every single time, Miguel was patient, professional and happy to help. His customer service deserves special recognition. By the end of the trip, Hotel Luar had completely won me over. What began as a surprise birthday getaway became one of the most enjoyable short breaks I have had in years. The combination of the location, the incredible beach, the friendly staff, the traditionally designed comfortable rooms and the relaxed atmosphere made it a truly memorable experience. If I ever return to Praia da Rocha, I honestly wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. Hotel Luar offers everything you need within walking distance, sits beside one of the most beautiful coastal walks imaginable, and is staffed by people who genuinely care about their guests. Thank you to Miguel and the entire Hotel Luar team for helping make my surprise 50th birthday trip such a wonderful experience. It is a holiday and a hotel that I will remember very fondly for many years to come. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Genuine 3 star hotel, bit dated but kept very clean, staff are excellent, rooms were ok, facilities also, Been to this hotel quite a few times and will be there again in October. Excellent location cross the road down the steps and you are on the beach, first restaurant about 200 metres away which is the start of the main street, bus stops within 100metres of the hotel.

Bei so einem Großen Hotel kein Ansprechpartner der ein wenig deutsch spricht. Und das so ein großes Hotel meint nicht mal im Bad aufhänge Möglichkeiten zum Wäschewechseln hat.

The hotel was in a great location, great pool, and the staff were absolutely amazing, friendly, helpful and always smiling.

The beds weren’t the best comfort wise, but it’s just a place to rest for a few hours so not an important dislike.

Outside of the property was beautiful., including the pool area. Lobby was nice and the breakfast was good.

The room was very outdated and the bed was extremely hard. Water pressure in the shower was nonexistent.

We've had a wonderful stay here. When we first arrived it was late at night, and we were disappointed with our room, as we thought we had booked an ocean view, the hotel very quickly rectified this for us the next morning and upgraded us to a larger room with a fantastic view over the pool and the ocean, for a small increase in room rate. The hotel was quiet, which we loved, breakfast was more than enough to choose from, our room was clean and comfortable although we didn't spend much time in the room, if we were there we sat on the balcony. Our son loved swimming in the pool. The staff were helpful, warm and courteous. Will be booking again, the next time we visit.

What a little gem of a hotel. we've been a few times now and can't fault it..the location is perfect..close to the stip but far enough away for peace and the view is to die for. All the staff are lovely and friendly. The hotel is spotless clean..dont expect luxury ..its a little dated..but its perfect 👌breakfast is basic but absolutely decent...we will be back!
