Friendly and accommodating staff. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
The place was easy to get to via car, once arrived the staff was very friendly and cordial. Our room had an absolute stunning vision, the breakfast was lovely and had good portions. The hot tub was amazing, the pool although had a bit of cold water but very spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Very nice
They were remodeling so it was a crowded breakfast room. Other than that it was excelent.
muy buen lugar :)
The place is in top of the mountain
No recibi nada
Nice and calm
Staff is very friendly and watching dawn and sunrise unfold from our front deck was an incredible experience.
View from the room was worth 1 mil.
Excelente lugar
Excellent service and nice place to stay
Estuvimos muy contentos en nuestra estancia
Excelente su servicio como todo en general
The pool was nasty, dirty, the room terrible,, food poor,. Nothing was good
Beautiful location
Fantastic location for hiking and amazing views from barranca-side rooms. Rooms cleaned daily. Staff very friendly and helpful. Unique property, but needs maintenance, with some facilities unavailable.
Amazing view
It's beautiful place
Lovely stay and gorgeous surroundings.
You are obviously paying for the view and what a view it was. I would stay here again just for that. The staff were also great - although the man in the restaurant did spoil things on our last day by bringing an empty basket to the table and asking for a tip. Our room was quite dated but seemed to be clean. The bed was comfy and shower fine - as long as you waited long enough for the hot water to run through. The breakfasts were generally good and we had one evening meal which was ok - but not good enough to persuade us to eat there again (we ate at the park instead - which actually was a similar standard). They were there waiting to meet us off the train, as requested. We also used the shuttle service to the park and that worked well with the bus waiting for us to bring us back as arranged.
Hotel is misrepresented online. It doesn’t have Canyon views. The steps without rails are dangerous. Not a good choice for anyone with mobility issues. While the driver and waiter were nice, the restaurant lacks consistency and drinks are overpriced. We were charged $68 for a small after dinner drink. Food was often cold or took hours to get. Pool was cold. Overall we were very dissatisfied. That being said, the employees were very nice. Needs new caring management.
The Staff was super friendly and helpful.
The Hotel Mansión Tarahumara was well kept up and the rooms were quaint and comfortable. However I had made reservations more than 6 weeks in advance, reserving two luxury rooms with a single king bed and a view of the valley, but what we were given was two rooms with double beds and no view. It appears our rooms were given away to a larger group which in my opinion is unethical. We were told by Rachel that if we paid an additional $500 pesos per room she would make accommodations. Don't make reservations and expect to get what you paid for. I cannot recommend this Hotel.
Unique place. You will enjoy
Maria was a real sweetheart in accomodating all our requests. Great location near the Canyon. The facilities are good, although a bit dated. Room was extremely clean and comfortable. Kids loved the jaccuzi. The pool room looked liked it was not used very often. The food was always fresh and tasty. Good selection of wine and spirits.
No hot water in winter!
If you dont mind the stairs and climbing and can get a canyon view room well worth the extra work to get there . Amazing views . Parking is tough there and quite a bit of stairs but well worth it .
Amazing stay! They picked us up at the train station. Maria and her staff are so gracious and accommodating. Most of our meals were family style and always fresh and homemade… Beautiful area, historic buildings with local craftsmanship! We were given a guided walking tour as soon as we arrived. So many amenities, pool, jacuzzi, billiards and pool table…
We enjoyed our stay. The good was very good. Staff is very friendly. View was awesome. There are a lot of stairs.
The room was super clean, the place is surrounded by trees. Perfect to stay with family. The only thing the internet don't work.
the view was great . false advertising on Expedia web site
Unique hotel with great views of Copper Canyon! Staff was extremely nice! I was travelling with my senior parents and I got all the support needed to acommodate their needs. Food is ok, considering the isolation of the place. I totally recommend this place.
The architecture!!! Amazing
Wonderful views from room. Good food and exceptional service. Long climb to room but transport provided when requested
Very good staff was friendly and helpful with us
I liked everything about it! Location, the unique setting of the rooms up the hill. I had reserved one with a view and it was amazing!! Staff very helpful & friendly; food was delicious, great ambiance. This place is a hiker’s dream do to its close location to the canyon. I absolutely love it!
No hot water in a panoramic view style room. Did not pick us up from train station. Wifi only available at lobby. No reception
Hotel is very nice, the staff was really courteous & helpful. I was recommend paying the few additional dollars for the mountain view, definitely worth it!
I booked this room because the Hotel advertised as having a Jacuzzi which was not functioning. There was no television in the room. We asked for an extra blanket which they said they would bring to us, but they did not until the next day. A dog was outside our door every time we came and went and then barked at night and woke us four times. It is 242 steps uphill if you want to see the view.
The mountain view was the highlight of this hotel. However, you need to walk uphill/downhill to go to/from the room to the lobby and cafeteria. Hotel does offer shuttle to take you and your luggage close to your room. No other food option around except for the hotel restaurant and their set menu. The food was good and reasonably priced compared to the other big hotels in the city. We were supposed to be picked up from the Divisedaro train station but no one showed up. Hotel is about 2 miles from the station. We arranged a local transport to go to the hotel from the station and fare was overpriced. Hotel did give us a complimentary return shuttle to the train station. Hotel also offers free walking tour which I suggest taking as it takes you to a trail by the canyon and deep into the area where the native people are living. Hotel offers shuttle to the Adventure Park with a fee. The front desk people and other staff are nice and friendly and some of them can speak English which was a big plus for us as we cannot speak Spanish. Sunrise from the property was awesome. The rooms are average but the canyon view from the balcony is the main reason for staying at this hotel.
Wonderful, magical hotel. Staff was great, the owner was on the property often and was a wonderful helpful, kind person. We went to the more modem hotel next door for a drink and decided that we had the best deal by far! I highly recommend this hotel!
transport from train OK; check-in OK. Rooms OK. Not much choice for food and they charge 250 pesos/person/meal for lunch and dinner.
I would not recommend this hotel. The main problems can be summed up as follows - the service is subpar and the staff are inattentive. For instance, no one informed us upon checking in that there is only one shuttle daily to/from the Adventure Park. When we came downstairs 15 min too late, the front desk staff told us we had to walk 45 minutes to get to the park (which is only a 10 min drive), and that there was no other way to reach it (no taxi, no way to pay extra for a shuttle even though more shuttles were parked outside). This information really should have been communicated up front, since not all guests would be able to walk 1.5 hours round trip on hilly roads to the park. The following day when we returned to the park for a second activity, we found out that the shuttle was not included in the room fees. This was not communicated until check-out, when we were presented with the extra charges (200 pesos/person). Additionally, it appears that there is differential treatment of individuals, couples, and large groups. They ran shuttles up to large groups' hotel rooms for meals, and were much more accommodating for them (~10 people) than for us as a pair. Also, please beware that you may get conflicting information from hotel staff - we were told 2 conflicting bus schedules to Creel, for instance. The only upside of this hotel is the view of the canyon from the balcony - so if you do decide to stay here, I would urge you to pay the bit extra for a room with a canyon view.
We rent. Rooms. Not. Bay persons. And the price. And. All meal include. Not water All refresh drink. Cost add. Why. The lunch and dinner. Or breakfast. Come with coge. Water. Or. Coke. In this case. All it’s additional. And no respect. The original cost. With discount
This property is so beautiful and unique there is no way to not appreciate it. We had a great time at the hotel and the location, on the edge of the canyon, cannot be beat.
Train station and adeventure park is close from this place and this place is well built ,staff speak english as well.Don't go for valley view as to get the room you have to walk a lot
The hotel is great for enjoying the magnificent views of the Copper Canyon. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, if a little cold early morning and night in the winter months. We didn't mind because we are used to this in England.
Great views - worth the steps (and higher room rates) up to the canyon view rooms
great location and very good staff. Friendly and courteous. Property needs update
Staff was very pleasant. Arrived at room and had an absolutely magnificent view of Copper Canyon for a small upcharge. The restaurant offered simple but delicious fare with live music at dinner. Sunrise over the Canyon was enjoyed from our room. Shuttle bus was waiting when the train arrived, and a guided walk was offered shortly after arrival. For a small fee, the shuttle took us to the adventure park where you can enjoy the cable car and zip line. The shuttle gets you back to the hotel and train in plenty of time. Really enjoyed our stay and wish we had more time spend there!
Not hot water notified front desk 3 times never fixed They charge a lot for terrible connection to internet Food expensive and not good
Had a bad experience. Very old hotel in general. Friendly staff but there are very limited choices for breakfast and dinner. Food not so great.
The facilities are good but the food is mediocre and way overpriced. Unfortunately there are no alternative places to eat nearby, as far as I could see.
We enjoy staying in the hotel but There are a couple of things they should be clearer. First rooms that are facing the canyonnare at the top of the hotel with about 200 stairs to go. Second it is written that you have wifi sounding it is free but in fact they charged for it. What made our trip very happy was Jorge th guide. He gave us a lot of information always with a smile and a lot of patience. Incredible man.
We had a very nice time. The staff was friendly and the place is very unique.
My family and I had a wonderful stay there, woke up early to see the sunrise. The walk to the lobby was kinda long, but was a great morning walk to breathe the fresh air.
The design and construction was very u I que using local materials.... nice large room clean and neat....meals and tour package very much with the cost ..guide very knowledgeable and helpful ...limited English. One of the highlights of three week trip
We had all meals included and I was very happy we did. The food was great and the service was excellent. It was cold during our visit, but the room heater was sufficient to keep the room warm. Staff was attentive and resolved any issues we may have had quickly. I visited 33 years ago and the hotel has grown since then. I would definitly return for another visit.
On arrival the whole town was with no electricity (understandable) no hot water pool not working very poor food at restaurant poor customer service uncomfortable beds and the door to our room had a big crack ( glass door) kind of dangerous we notified the manager and he seemed to care less....Very disappointed..... never again will I stayed at this hotel or recommended to anybody....
The exhausting climb from the lobby to our room (more than 250 stairs) was more than rewarded by the breathtaking view of the canyon from our perch high on the canyon rim. Staff were all very helpful.
We LOVED this place. SO charming! Great location, attentive staff and excellent food -- all for a most reasonable price. We've stayed here twice and will definitely choose this place if we visit this area again!! TWO THUMBS UP!!
great location . great owner . amazing views and rooms . not for people whon cant climb to the hotel . wifi only in lobi . no cell signal unless u have movistar. not the most clean or rooms . food needs immediate diversion and uppgrade. a lot of potential but can be perfect.
It's true what other people says about owner-manager, but the hotel ant the view are outstanding. Ask for a room with view. Every dollar you pay will be your best investment.
The room was not clean, the people at the front desk were nice and proffesional. The lady was nice, she even made is a sandwich to take home and ships and were excellent in service.
Valley view does not mean Canyon view! Did not get a Canyon view ( those rooms are a good stair climb up and inconvenient). Was given an ugly motel style room instead of the rustic looking rooms shown in their pictures. Far from everything and they charge for their shuttle service to the adventure park. Very small bar. Dining is okay.
I had the best time at this hotel, they offer me a tour of the canyon right after check it. their guide was very nice. The owner was very friendly, she was always around making sure our stay was enjoyable. the best of all was that the hotel offers breakfast and a great dinner.
The lady was as rude as cam be that ran the place. Never would I stay there again
The hotel is located in a perfect setting, surrounded by nature and close proximity to many hiking/walking trails. The rooms were spacious, well maintained. The food was plentiful and tasty. The service from the kitchen, dining and bar staff is what kept this hotel in a higher rating. They were always ready to make the guest happy. The downside to this hotel is that the reception office is not always open. The store is open at times so be prepared to look for front desk help. The pool hours were unacceptable only open between 9am-5pm. On our arrival day we arrived during lunch hour (1-3) so we were invited to lunch, and then a walking tour. The waking tour was great, but by the time we came back to the hotel and we're thinking "what a great time to hit the pool" it had already closed. I expressed this to the owner and her response was "that is how I've run my hotel" many other guest also expressed the same thoughts on the pool. It's the only one in this area with a pool and with kids it was the reason why this hotel was selected on our trip.
It was cold and snowing in late february. Temperatures 26F in the early morning. Room was drafty and heated by a small wall mounted gas heater. Fireplaces prohibited by government. Bed was comfortable but only double so a bit small for 6-foot body. Construction is cute but rustic. Dinning hall is like a Norman castle. Food is simple but well prepared. This is a fun area to visit. There are nicer places and cheaper places nearby. The value seems fair.
I love the concept of the hotel. If you chose a room with a panoramic view, you will have the chance to enjoy the amazing sunrise, and/or sunset over Copper Canyon. The experience is amazing! I had the chance to meet some of the ramuris natives just walking like half of mile away from the hotel, and the experience was heart warming also. The hotel was clean, neat, quiet, comfortable, and staff was very friendly. We choose the all meals included, and it was so worthed, real mexican home cooking.
This hotel is OK. If you do not like a rustic stay this is not for you. The pool was not ready. It looks like some repair/upgrade is being done, but not quite enough. Room was clean, dark and not for people that are not able to move well. The hotel does not have signs to get to. Good thing we speak Spanish. The price was a little high for the quality received. Must be physically fit to stay at this hotel or you will just stay in your room.
The rooms with the best views are accessed by many, many stairs. The views are spectacular but it is quite an effort to get to your room. Definitely not for anyone with a physical impairment. If you are up to it, the climb to your room is worth it. Food was good and lots of it. Jorge was an extremely good guide and works for the hotel. A one night stay is sufficient to see all that is near. We arrived from El Fuerte and had more than enough time to enjoy the area in one day. Very interesting place, comfortable and staff were very accommodating.
