This is heaven on earth. The staff are incredible, always polite, kind and helpful. Wish we stayed here longer. The absolute highlight of our trip. Can’t wait to come back.
I stayed here for 12 days as a getaway from the northern winter. Spent my days in the sea snorkeling and swimming at sunset . Seen so many beautiful fish and a few curious sharks. And i kayaked to other nearby beaches. Drank GT at night watching the waves crashing on the shore and the crabs dancing on the sand. lay on my cabin balcony at night and listened to the sounds of the jungle as the day ended. Some days the tide was to far out are the sea was rough so I had a trek through the jungle to the view points and explored some hidden paths and the port. Come across troops of curious monkeys and many beautiful butterfly's and birds . Other days I took a boat trip are jumped on the ferry and had a day in Phuket to break it up. I enjoyed the food in the hotel and found it reasonable price and the catering staff where fantastic all great service . The staff work hard its a community of people who are making a living best they can and it can be hit and miss at times. The room was high up and a good few steps it blended in to the jungle and I never found it to hot at night even with just a fan. I ended up Turing it off as a breeze from the sea kept me cool at night. Some days the monkeys would pop there heads in the room but no harm indented just looking for a free feed. Take water shoes to avoid sharp rocks and sea urchin also a wear a bright swimming vest so you can be seen in the water and also you can relax in deeper water and just float and spend more time . Also flippers if your not a strong swimmer . And dont try to go out when the tide is out you will end up sitting on a sea urchin The place is a rough diamond, if your able want to be away from it all and immersed in the beauty and tranquility of nature then you will enjoy this. The jungle and the snorkel and sea are the jewels and people who are active will get the most out of this place.
If I could have given the hotel less I would have. The mosquito nets were broken in several places, we had expected to come and feel a relaxed atmosphere, but we have only felt like money machines, and the friendliness is nowhere to be found. The hotel has deteriorated greatly since I was here 7 years ago, the place and the atmosphere are completely unrecognizable, really a shame
Love love.
Worst accommodation of the 12 hotels we stayed at while traveling in Thailand the last 35 days. When checking in we we're not told about anything, just sent to our room. We tried to ask questions with the staff and they ignored us, while half of them either played soccer on the beach or smoked behind the restaurant. ( I have photos) We were eating dinner at a table near the bar and an old women who does massages started sweeping and sand and dust went into our food and we asked her to stop and she didn't (I have a video of this). So paid for a meal we didn't eat. The property was dirty (photos to show). the beach was nice but the boats would pull up to where the guests sat and leave the boats running with the terrible fumes. Went for a walk to the viewing point and we were chased aggressively by at least 25-35 monkeys. We read not to feed the monkeys not that they were very aggressive, which they were (videos of this as well) We had such a terrible experience we left a day early. The staff took our backpacks and put them on the wrong boat which would have been fine but they yelled at us saying it was our problem not theirs and we need to go get them. We were shocked but went to the water to grab the bags but the water was filled with jelly fish. We did not want to walk out to get them so the staff proceeded to throw them to the shore which one bag didn't make it and went in the water and my earphones where ruined. Not even a sorry. But the worst thing is when we had to get on the boat to leave they made us walk through the water with all the jelly fish. My daughter was scared as she has been stung before so she was walking slow and cautiously. She made her way to the ladder of the boat and the guy on the boat yelled at her to hurry up saying jelly fish won't sting then proceeded to grab her arm aggressively leaving a bruise. (Photos of this as well) This was unbelievable. It shook us up and scared my daughter to tears. This is unacceptable.
Outstanding stay from start to finish- we extended by an extra 2 nights while we were here as we loved it so much 😀❤️🇹🇭🙏 The breakfast was great and the evening food was excellent and not too expensive and so much choice, thanks to all the staff you made our stay so good ! And we would like to return next year!
We spent six nights at Phi Phi Relax resort. We were a bit unlucky with the weather most of the days, with rain, strong winds and lots of clouds, which we were told was very unusual. I also had a very bad stomach for one and a half day, but the staff was so nice and helpful, both to my husband, who had to eat his meals alone, and to me bringing medicine and rice soup and being very caring Thank you, Laura, and all the rest of you. Be aware, that when you arrive on the longtail boat, you will get wet, when you get off, as there is no pier. So shorts are recommended. Also, it is good to bring some bathing shoes, as there are quite a few rocks in the water. When the water is clear, you will see them (and a lot of fish), but on windy days, bathing shoes are nice to have. The beach is beautiful, and as you can only get to this resort by boat or about one hours walk, it is very quiet and nice. We had a very nice bungalow right on the beach, with a wonderful terrasse, where we could sit/lie and read on rainy days. The resort really lives up to its name - it is a great place for relaxation. But the best thing about this place is the fantastic staff! They made us feel at home, had a good sense of humor, and were always very helpful.
This hotel is perfect if you want simplicity, good service, good food, and quiet relaxation in a close-to-nature setting. We loved our simple little bungalow right in the perfect beach.
Traditional Wooden hut located just off the beach. Good shower and fans and mosquito net for bed Great restaurant helpful staff Fire show one evening Helpful staff for boat transfer Beds and towels for beach Forest walk to view point through jungle
This was our first visit to Thailand, so after visiting cities, this resort certainly lived up to its name. A longtail boat transfer from the pier, took us to this magnificent resort. It had so much wow factor, felt like a dream come true. The beach was so clean, the water so clear and warm, the views, the accommodation, the selection of food and the staff all contributed toward a magnificent 4 nights we shall never forget. We took the trek to the viewpoint too, from the resort. I don't want to spoil the surprise, but it is totally worth the hike. We continued the hike back to the pier area where there is lots of hussle and bussle with a great vibe, but personally we loved heading back to our resort to totally relax. Was a great experience, one we would love others to share, hence this review.
The name says it all……relax! You arrive and leave by boat (speedboat if lucky) as the resort is remote, away from everything else with the only way to reach the main town by boat or a long, tricky at times walk that no one should attempt in the dark. Just what we wanted so being cut off from elsewhere for a few days was perfect. However, it doesn’t mean you are stuck like Robinson Crusoe as the resort has numerous boat trips/shuttle boats to different islands and/or to the main town if you really need to escape. Rooms (huts) are basic with bathroom, double bed, plugs, fans and mosquito nets. Some newer ones have AC but ours were fine with two big fans. Some reviews say the mosquito nets are too thick and useless however ours were fine (we had three huts between six of us). The service and food is excellent. Plenty of choice including burgers and pasta if that’s your thing. Food prices are very reasonable. Not much more than anywhere else. All the staff (and there are plenty) are so friendly and helpful and get to know you quickly. The beach is private and very clean with plenty of deckchairs for all. We never had an issue getting one. You can hire canoes by the hour for c£2 and snorkel sets by the day (c£1) although the sea can be choppy at times. The tide comes in during the day (January) but there is still plenty of space to sit. Worth noting that due to the resort being on the other side of the island to the main town the sun dips behind the hill and trees around 3:30pm so the beach (narrow when tide comes in) is in the shade (a good time to do the View Point hike or go on an afternoon boat trip). However the sun is up (and hot) by 7:30am so plenty of time to sunbath if you want. Drinks are reasonably priced, just a little higher than the mainland but not so it makes a big difference. The walk to the View Point (and main town back down the other side is steep at times and you need trainers/walking shoes however it really is worth it when you get to the top. We didn’t go into the main town but were told the whole walk from the resort to town is about an hour at a brisk pace in daylight. I really wouldn’t want to attempt it in the dark as it would be quite dangerous. The resort has good WiFi in all areas including the huts and even the beach. In summary a great place to stay with family or friends if you want a few days to relax.
This was an amazing property on the other side of Koh Phi Phi. You had to take a long tail to get over to the resort which means that it wasn’t in the middle of all the madness. It was a more private secluded beach, but you could still longtail over to the pier and have fun on Phi Phi if you wanted to and then get back to your own little resort that wasn’t surrounded by 1000 people screaming and partying really enjoyed it beautiful little bungalows to sleep in great food at the main area. My wife and I loved it.
The room was awful, mosquitos inside. Got bit immediately after getting into the room and showering. We were there for 30 mins and the power/ a/c shut off twice. We left immediately and went somewhere else, but the property kept my money. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT STAY HERE. You also have to hike up uneven concrete stairs to get to your room. The grounds are run down and over grown with lots of bugs. Shady place, shady owners. If you try to leave early and show your bites, the thief at the front desk will steal your money and call you a liar. Pay a little extra and stay at a nicer place. 2 star "resort" for a reason.
I will mention only the MAIN points (although I have a lot more) Great disappointment. This place is the opposite of relax - 180 degrees from relaxing Worst hotel / resort experience ever. Worst unwelcoming sevice. A VERY slow and VERY noisy boat from the pier to the hotel - more than 25 minutes a side. In order to go to the center where the “action” is and to come back to the hotel - Very expensive charge for this unfriendly boat. You should know your travel purpose - staying here, you will be isolated from the fan of the center, beaches nightlife etc.. unless taking this experience expensive small noisy slow boat. In general the service is bad (the staff are doing their job. Some are very nice) but i guess the guidlines they got are bad. ZERO facility Again - i am mentioning only part of the points Need to beg for clean towels instead of the wet unclean ones. Need to beg also for a soap. Not even a small refrigerator in the room. Bad wifi which disconnect every few minutes. Electricity shut down from time to time Not even a chair or a small table in the room An extremely weak stream in the shower. Bed only At breakfast- For a regular normal coffee - you have to pay extra !!!!! One evening 2 family members could not get back to the hotel from the center (since the waves were too high and dangerous) Had to come by foot at night in the dark - climbing in the forest mountain !!!! A local resident who showed where the trail begins, killed a dangerous snake in the first minute of the walk and asked them to be VERY careful during their climbing (more than 2.5 hours of nightmare). Must remember that the price is EXTREMELY HIGH (the price we paid) - we had 2 rooms. Of 2 and of 3 adults Thought for a long time whether to write the review but decided to help others to know the whole picture prior to booking.
Extremely expensive for what it is - the older bungalows are the same airless beach huts which just a few years ago were $15USD a night. I get that Phiphi has changed and so has Thailand, but when you're getting to the point of charging people $200USD a night for staying in an old beach hut with no Air Conditioning it would be at least polite to do stuff like add mosquito screens to the windows... or repair the toilet seat which wasn't attached to the bowl... or repair the lock on the door so the door could be closed from the inside. The provided mosquito nets over the beds are also ridiculous, made of heavy material which means that no breeze penetrates through them. They're also full of holes. For $15 it's all quite a nice bit of a laugh... at $200USD it leaves a really nasty taste in your mouth. The restaurant isn't bad at serving the usual Thai tourist slops...but you can do much better in Thailand for 1/10 of the price.
You don’t have to live like a saint and die to get to paradise. I’ll write this review in English specially for the wonderful staff of Phi Phi Relax resort. Only a short fare with a longtailboat from Tonsay Pier takes you to heaven. A beautiful, quiet and private resort with affordable and beautifully decorated cocktails (all TBH 200,-) a private beach, freshly prepared food (Pad Thai only TBH 150,-) and romantic bungalows right at the shore. We were on honeymoon with our toddler (1,5 y.o) and the staff took care of her during dinner and other occasions and overloaded her with love and attention. During rainseason the prices are more than affordable and we had a beautiful, clean and romantic bungalow only a few meters from the private beach. We enjoyed free yoga classes in the morning by (almost) resident Sabine from the Netherlands, played soccer with the staff (everyday at 17.00 sharp) and enjoyed the peace and quiet of this relaxing and stunnigly beautiful place. Walking to viewpoint and decend to the village is a must see. Wild monkeys, all kinds of tropical butterflies and mango an cashewtrees make this trip worth the steep climb. This is a one to one and half hour walk. Afterwards, don’t forget to reward yourself with a little shopping in this pittoresque village. All in all, this place deserves more than five stars, with an extra star for the location. By far the most beautiful place in Thailand I have ever seen. As we speak, Phi Phi Relax is upgrading the bungalows and executing a thorough renovation in the left side of the resort. This is the kind of secret place you want to keep for yourself, but these people work so hard for their guests, that the least I can do is praise them with a well earned and honest review. We will be back soon. All the love from Marten, Sarah and Pip❤️ And the photos that Erik Schreur posted are misleading, because this is not the resort but the houses of sea nomads that are the original inhabitants of the island. Very sad that people can post this kind of crap.
Beautiful serene quite not for those who want a nightlife and loads it was perfect for us two
Great staff, lovely!.except the “ tourist guide “ that explains the morning routines of your fault full day tour. The facility it should not n be qualified as resort but a hotel. Property needs a lot of improvement, on the exterior and on the interior of the rooms. And they need to put “ No swimming signs” on areas where they know is dangerous for us tourists. I did swim next to the are and got stuck in a bunch of sea urchins and I was bad for 2 nights 3 days, once I got back to the city I had to go to hospital, doctor said , spines should be removed immediately but staff just put oil on it. Please be careful.
Friendly staff!!!!
I recommend this resort only if you do not plan on going anywhere else in Phi Phi, otherwise it is super inconvenient. I did not realize the boat that takes you to the resort only goes until 5:30PM, so we didn’t get to see Phi Phi at night. The only things to do in the resort are eat and drink. You cannot really get into the water because the shoreline is extremely rocky and you will be stepping on jagged rock as you're in the water. There’s also a ton of sea urchin. The people of Thailand are extremely friendly, but the staff here seemed to be different. They were not very helpful when we had a few questions and they just seemed inconvenienced by tourists on the resort. While it had beautiful views, I would have chosen a different place to stay if I knew what I know now.
The location is very remote. It is hard to get back and forth from the resort to Phi Phi. It would be fine to hang out at the resort and relax but the people who run the hotel are just very rude and unaccommodating. We traveled throughout Thailand and never ran into any place that made you feel like you were totally disrupting their island.
Nice beach. Good restaurant. Bad smell in the bathroom. 20min away from any other thing in the island. Lots of insects.
This place is a DREAM. The room was spotless and cleaned daily, the coffee/smoothies/food delicious and fast service. Staff was friendly. Beach was gorgeous. We used the boat taxi once, then took the trail to the main pier. Wish we could have stayed longer
You will get wet from boat rides as well as getting off boat. You will get into the water to walk up to resort.
Transportation cost $150 thb each way to and from ferry pier with cost increasing up to $300 thb if later than 3pm local time. Ride from main tonsai pier was about 26 minutes boat ride without considering time to wait for luggages being loaded onto the boat. Expect to get wet because you will have to enter and exit boat from knee to waist high ocean water depending on the tide. Limited availability for transportation to main town area. Lots of mosquitos and no air conditioner in all 4 beach front bungalows we booked. Random electrical blackouts, occurring at least 3 times daily. Water pressure is extremely weak, similar to less than the flow of a toilet being filled up. Had many conditions regarding towels, beddings, etc., such as extra charge for cleaning if sheets and towels were extremely dirty. Pricing for food was good, such as $500 thb for a whole fried fish. Check in reception person was like a manager/sales person. Pushed speedboat and excursions/tours sales even during checkin time. Were treated as not important guests once you don't book tours or agreed to buy dinner on the beach package with reception/sales manager.
Very small room to be a bungalow. Balcony sea-view completely blocked by a giant tree. You can’t sit at balcony due to mosquitoes. No proper pressure in the shower. Small sized bed for a 6ft1in guy like me and on top of that no AC in the room. Very good and helpful staff. Restaurant is decently priced given the location of the property.
The property was very unclean in the rooms. By this I mean the bedsheets and mosquito net were moldy and made you physically ill sleeping in them not to mention the smell. There is no Ac only fans. The boat cost you every single time for each person 150 baht and isn’t included in the already overpriced place for what it is. No breakfast included either. We spent wayyy too much money here to be forced to take transportation off the plot to do anything. Food was very good is the only positive and staff are friendly.
Excellent service …since there is not air conditioning screen on windows will help to ventilation and keep mosquitoes out .. and too many rocks on the beach .. I think it can be better with a litter work … love the food .. love all employees staff… there where amazing… i will be back !! Thanks
Overall we loved the traditional thai style accomodations and quiet setting. It was inconvienent to get to by longboat taxi and got expensive every day. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was cleaned daily amd the best was comfortable for us. Not too firm as it is in many other hotels we have stayed at.
If you are looking for a peaceful and beatufil place where to enjoy your vacations in Phi Phi, THIS IS THE PLACE. I have to say this has been one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in my life. The staf was incredible friendly, polite, nice and efficient. The entire team was great, Vi, Sunny, Nam and the rest were amazing. My room was basically 15 steps from the beach, they did everything they could to make my stay comfortable and unforgettable. I would absolutely go back.
Overall great stay! Spacious room with spectacular ocean view. The hotel staff was amazing and very accomodating! I would stay here again.
We loved everything about this property! It was beautiful, peaceful great variety of food at the restaurant. The staff were all amazing. If I had to pick something to complain about it which isn’t really even a huge complaint lol would be to have a screen option for the window in our hut so that we could open it to get more of a breeze at night without any bugs getting in. Although warm at night the fans did do the trick. Loved our stay here!
We loved Phi Phi Relax Beach Resort. It is hidden from all the hustle of Phi Phi which I prefer. The food in the restaurant is amazing the best I had so far in Thailand, also the best snorkeling right in the front of the resort. The bungalow is great, everything that you might need. Fan, bottled waters, shampoo, towels, beautiful relaxing deck, beautiful views, clean rooms every day, mosquito net and fan. The prices in the restaurant are reasonable, same with the tours. Everything is nicely arranged by the staff, plus they are all nice and welcoming. You can eat and drink the water they offer, they use bottled water and and washing all the veggies from the bottled water. They keep you nice and safe.
We got beach front bungalow I would say the bungalow was super cool but everything else about this place sucked. The food was gross. The service was bad. There is literally nothing to So but lay on their beach you can’t walk or go anywhere … and this beach was probably one of the ugliest beaches I was on in the phi phi islands… not to mention the only way in and out is by boat and they make you pay for it and you better hope the water isn’t choppy because the guys carry your bags to the boat and they dropped one bag and when we were getting on the boat the waves went over all my friends entire head and body I was lucky and for on the boat while the waves were just hitting my neck… I would never go here again for sure but for the pluses their drinks were really good and if they water wasn’t choppy there is a little island you could kyake too that is prettier and has good food but we just went there on a long tail boat instead the day before because the water was to choppy to do anything when we were there. And back to the negative they gave my food to the table next to us then she ate some of it realized it wasn’t hers then we saw them take it back mix it up and try to bring me the same plate of food … lol don’t waste your money go somewhere else on phi phi island.
Beautiful and secluded beach front area with rustic private bungalows steps from the beach. The beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water in showers. Staff were attentive and pleasant. Half day and full day trips to Maya Bay and other areas are excellent and easily booked.
This place is set in a beautiful & serene location away from the hustle and bustle of Tonsai. Enjoyed riding in the long tail boats to & from resort as well. Walked through “jungle” to get to the lookout which was a great workout. Only thing that would be better is the lighting in our bungalow which was so dark it was hard to do much inside as even in daylight it was dark. The staff is some of the best we’ve ever had (loved Mar one of our wonderful hostess’s) Would definitely recommend.
I was very satisfied with this resort. The rooms were very clean and I love the whole nature vibe with the bungalows. The staff were super friendly and helpful and always trying to go out of their way to help their customers also the food was very good. I would definitely recommend this resort to everybody we had a blast here. Thank you!
Great place to stay living on a tropical beach just relax and unwind, the staff are great super friendly always there to help
What a lovely find!!! My family and I spent 3 lovely nights there (originally 2 but we extended an extra day). The staff was amazing and my son LOVED his first bungalow experience. At first I was worried about not being able to walk to other restaurants, but my fears were soon allayed as the restaurant’s menu is varied and everything was delicious. I ate the same bowl of delicious glass noodle soup for lunch 3 days in a row. You actually NEVER have to leave the resort. Everything you need is there and more. Enjoy!
It was a very nice property but I was traveling alone so it was a little too quiet for a single traveler
Has a really good time here. Incredibly peaceful.
Staying at Phi Phi Relax is a truly unique experience. The traditional Thai cabana design and seaside village-style environment is gorgeous. The charming staff really take great care of you. The resort is a fantastic place to wind down. They have a superb restaurant, bar, and massage hut as well. Our cabana was right next to the beach and we loved every moment of our stay! Highly recommended.
The beach front bungalows were awesome and the hiking trail was nice too
Privacy. Fantastic people and staff. Monkeys, great snorkeling and nature walk to top of island.
We enjoyed our stay at this resort. The staff is very nice and friendly. The location is great. Loads of choice for food, although is not the best quality, but they do try to do their best in evrything, to accomodate any request. I would definitely reccommend.
Had the best time here! Some of the other reviews made me a little u easy but not to be worried. To the one review that said it cost 1000 baht to get to hotel, that was because it was a private boat. The hotel provides a long tail boat for transfer for 150 baht per person upon arrival to Phi Phi. You get for what you want at this resort, no tv, no fridge, just a private beach, beach cottage, amazing staff, etc. Bring bug spray!! I sure wish I did and left with LOTS of bug bites.
Beautiful beach. Friendly staff. Most dishes were nice especially the thb300 bbq chicken which is available at night. But steak is not very good. Shower has no hot water.
Great staff, food, rooms. Good beach. I walked from the resort to the View Point, worth the walk!!
We were not informed by ko lanta lodging properly about resort transfers in phi phi so not in best mood when first got to resort and had to pay for taxi boat. But it was in notes and reviews if i had read more closely. The food and service was very good there and good location if not want to be near the main pier. The manager was very genuine and sincere to guests as we met before leaving. To not mislead readers it is nice resort vut if hot water and haveing easy access back to main pier at tonsai bay is what you are eanting then suggest you find place near pier. But if want to get away from crowds for few days then try here.
The hotel is idyllic, it’s what you dream about. The most gorgeous location, clear water full of tropical fish, soft white sand. Unfortunately the only reasonable way to the main part of phi phi is by boat, which they charge even 150 baht for check in and out, the extortionate prices for general, worth it for the scenery though. Due to being a beach hotel there is no hot water which is not a problem in the hot environment but sleeping in the room at night is not easy. Overall a fantastic place.
I booked only 1 night with my partner here and I’m glad that was it because I couldn’t have lasted another day, honestly for what we paid it was not worth it. The view was amazing, since we did pay extra to get the highest room, but there were many bugs (I found a cockroach in the shower). Just a reminder there is NO air conditioning and only 1 fan is provided to keep you cool, as well as a bednet to avoid getting attacked by mosquitos at night. Not much is provided besides the basics and even 1 of our towels smelt bad. The wifi is VERY bad, we could barley get any connection the whole time we were there. I would say if you’re looking to stay somewhere nice and somewhat luxurious, this is definitely not the place for you. I would recommend being prepared to find your own entertainment since it’s located on the other side of the island (we had to take a boat to get to the resort) where there is nothing surrounding you and really nothing else to do except the beach that the resort is located on.
Very relaxing. And the place is very clean.
Wonderful and very helpful staff had a wonderful stay
This resort feels very remote and was very quiet and relaxing. The only down side is you have to pay for a long tail boat any time you want to go to/from the main part of the island (unless you want to hike through the jungle and over the mountain, probably 45-60 minutes). However, this resort is only a 25-30 minute hike from an amazing viewpoint where you can see an amazing view of the island! Our bungalow felt fairly clean, except the bathroom smelled a little bit. There was only a fan in the room (no air conditioning), but we expected this before we arrived and stayed fairly cool. A mosquito net was in place above the bed to ward off any insects. We saw a snake one night and some bats flew around us on another occasion, but otherwise the wildlife didn’t bother us. The restaurant was pretty good and not too terribly expensive. We also enjoyed a few drinks from the beach bar! The kayak rentals were pretty cheap, and we also enjoyed some time on the quiet beach. Overall we loved our time at this unique resort, especially for the price we paid!
Great location away from busy traffic if you’re looking for peace and quiet...... unfortunately it’s located in a spot where there is no cell reception and the wi-if was never working for us, although they say it’s. Great customer service though and great food!
Loved it! Relaxing place by the water. Enjoyed our stay there.
the staff is great, the location is amculate, loves it
This is honestly and literally the WORST hotel/resort I've stayed in my life. There isn't any air-condition, any hot shower, cockroaches and mosquitoes in the room. The wifi don't work at all and the signal is so bad that my mobile data couldn't work. We checked in for 2 nights and as soon as we arrived, we tried to explain to the staff but they said they were very hostile and unreasonable. They said they don't care. We immediately left the next day. I've never had such a bad experience staying in a hotel. There is also literally nothing to do on the island, its so dead there. I'm now in the process of reaching out to hotels.com to seek a refund and if they don't, I'd would probably never use hotels.com again. Do NOT ever go to this hotel. You will regret it.
Great bungalow great service and the best view .. I spend there a few days and they did a great job !!
I’ll begin by saying that I understand the property lists that they do not have AC, but it was worse that I could have ever imagined. They provide a fan in the room, it is a stand up fan that is probably 15 years old and barely works even on the strongest setting. There are cracks and holes all over the bungalow, making it impossible to keep the room cool even if the fan were to work. There were two windows in the bungalow but no screens so you were unable to leave to open at night for an extra breeze. The bungalow just becomes a stuffy sauna. We met other families that were leaving days before their reservations were done due to how terrible to sleeping conditions are here. The no warm water is great, a cold shower is the only thing that feels good in that heat. The view from the bungalow though is breathtaking, if perhaps you go at a “cooler” time of year this could be a real gem. They have options to rent snorkel gear on site, which we took advantage of. With a short swim out you are able to see coral and beautiful fish. There is a restaurant on site where they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All the food we tried at that restaurant was amazing, some of the best in Thailand that we tried. Note that to get to the property you take a 30 min boat ride to the resort from the pier, so plan to spend most of your time at the resort exploring unless booking excursions or getting a boat ride to the pier. Lastly, all the staff was quite rude. Other guests stated the same.
Great place to visit for a few days to relax and take a break when travelling around Thailand. Staff are very friendly. The restaurant has excellent food both Thai and European. The bar closes around 22:30 so there’s is plenty of time to catch up on some beauty sleep. Waking up for the sunrise is a must
Our beachfront bungalow was perfectly situated to see the sunrise.
This was one of our most favourite spots in all of thailand. So clean, with the friendliest staff, an overall beautiful place to stay. Romantic sunrises on the beach and a coral reef not 100 meters off the shore to explore snorkeling. We will return to this hidden paradise 100%.
The location was ideal for a relaxed holiday. Sea was good for snorkelling and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was fantastic, which staff were keen to give advice. Our bungalow was set back from the beach but only a minutes walk. It was set up on the start of the forest which was on a hillside. Ideal for those seeking to see wildlife from the jungle! Only suggestion from a customers point of view was the intrusion on some occasions from the neighbouring beach by visitors arriving by speed boat coming onto our private beach and sitting on deck chairs which clearly had belongings on. Perhaps better monitored during busy times. Staff did their best when available. Would definitely recommend this resort. 😎😎
It was in the beach, monkeys, birds, sea, sand an the only way off was on a long boat absolutely unique.
Paradise setting. Good food, drinks and atmosphere.
This place was paradise. I can’t wait to go back would definite stay here again.
This hotel resort is great, the best feature is that it is on the beach and it is an exceptional beach. Although there is is no A/C in the bungalows, the hotel location and facilities it offers are exceptional. I would recommend taking advantage of the snorkelling on the long tail boat around Phi Phi island available from the hotel, it's awesome and some of the destinations are heavenly.
This was the best holiday I had in my life. I went with my 11y old son and we just relaxed and dived and snorkelled every day. The staff was unbelievable friendly and the food was excellent. I will go back same time this year.
Simplicity, serenity, and friendliness. Already want to come back to Relax.
We have now stayed in 5 different types of accommodation, from a beach hut pretty much on the beach with cold showers and mosquito nets, to 5 star Marriott and holiday inn accommodation in picturesque locations and 5 star hotel in the centre of Krabi. Without a doubt, the family agrees that phi phi relax beach resort, with the cold showers, open windows (no glass) and mosquitoe nets was by far the best accommodation and experience! The staff were wonderful and after 3 days of staying with them, feel like I will miss them very much! Even though I was desperate to wash my hair in warm warm water! The best experience with Mar and her team - wonderful place and beautiful staff! 💓
I payed more than expected. the tour wasn't complete
Not confy at all it’s too hard to stay there and we couldn’t even stay there for one night
Nice place to stay by the beach and very relaxing. I stay the same resort next visit.
We stayed at 3 different places on our trip to Thailand. This was our favorite by far. The staff was amazing. The food was very good and plenty of options. Our unit was right on the beach and perfect. If you stay here make sure you order a Chang beer from May.
The place itself is nice as it's right on the beach. However you are about 20 mins away from the pier via long tail boat. That is the only way to access the resort so once you're there, there isn't much to do at the resort. There is a restaurant and bar but nothing else. So unless you're just looking to sit back relax and do very little, other than getting in the warm beach water, this isn't for you. We are a young couple that stayed there and got bored really fast and had no option to just sleep or drink at the bar. I feel like it's good for older couples.
Very quaint resort with good food and friendly staff!
Overall I feel like I was in a bait and switch situation. The way the "resort" is described on the Travelocity site and what I experienced when I arrived are very different. If the description on the website was closer to reality I would have not chosen this "resort". To start it clearly says that there is air conditioning, which there is NONE so that should be removed from the site entirely. There is no hot water, bigger than that you are actually using ocean water to shower and brush your teeth with which explains the water bottles they provide. No electricity until 6pm and due to wildlife you can't bring food to your room specifically there are monkeys. Wifi is very spotty if it works at all and the staff there barely spoke to us the entire time we were there, which was strange as they seemed friendly to everyone else. We were only staying one night so we were good sports and stuck it out but this was highly disappointing.
Helpful staff, nice beach and good food
Very nice staff all in all. Sunny in the restaurant was super friendly!!! We all loved him. The beach was not good for swimming with too much coral right up to the water line. It is what it is - a resort to relax at. We would not do Phi Phi again however. Long travel days and not worth the end result.
If your about luxury hot showers and WiFi please stop reading and find another place. If your about absolute relaxation, beautiful views beaches and just wanna disconnect from the world then this place is what your looking for. We stayed in a beach front bungalow for a week and can’t express how great of a time we had. Staff is amazing and the food was some of the best we had in Thailand. Please note it’s on the quite side of the island which is a good thing but you are limited to getting away and need a boat to take you to town unless you love to hike through the jungle. Love love love this place and hope to be back in the future!
Views and beach front hut were beautiful, coped just fine with limited electricity and no hot water. Food at restaurant was delicious. Only down side is some rude staff and we were eaten alive by mosquitos
After reading all the reviews, we came with the expectation of no hot water, no electricity and generally rustic. However, the cabins need a serious upgrade! The beds are disgusting and the shower heads only point over the toilet in the bathrooms. Our group had three rooms and all of us were worrying about bed buds during the night. We were ready for rustic but not for the unhygienic conditions. I will say on a positive note that the restaurant had very good food at reasonable prices and the wait staff was very friendly.
Beautifuk resort. a little out of the way from the main island however you can walk to the view points from here and get to the main island if you like adcevture this is your spot. surrounded by nature and own private beach.
If you like get eaten alive by mosquito's all day and night, extremely hard beds, no hot water and no electricity all day then this is the resort for you. The room was very, very basic and dark, with mosquito's everywhere. Breakfast and other food was passable, although not fantastic. Apart from a 1 hour hike through the jungle to get to the main shopping area of Phi Phi you had to venture out in long-tail boats for any activities. If you like it very rustic, stay here. Otherwise give a miss!!!!
I was in room 25 what a beautiful places and very friendly staffs I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone this is a beautiful Paradise with a very friendly staffs I will definitely go back and staying for another 2 weeks. I tell you what People don't go elsewhere like Turky waste your time and money go to this amazing island. Phi Phi Relax Beach Resort you've been so Nice to me I would like to thank you all. Lots of love from Carlos room 25.
Beach lovely and kept very clean, good for swimming, kids liked playing footie in eve and fireshow. And male waiter made them laugh with his dancing. They cancelled our trip to maya bay due to waves, was bit disappointed as only day could do, and looked like other trips had been out that day.
Beautiful location on it's own lovely beach, reached only by the hotels own Long Tail boat service. Great restaurant with really friendly staff. Not much to do but but that helps to make it one of the nicest places I've stayed.
Got food poisoning on the last night but other than that had a good time
THIS WAS A VERY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE, BUT VERY NICE. PRIVATE BEACH. RESTAURANT ON PREMISES AND FRIENDLY STAFF. THERE IS NO ELECTRICITY FROM 7AM TO 6PM. IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO GET AWAY FROM CIVILIZATION, THEN THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE. VERY ROMANTIC. NO TV OR RADIO. MINIMUM WIFI.
By far the worst experience I have ever encounted in a hotel... hated every second of being there and checked out within 12 hours of being there
OVERALL: We have to rely in hotel services only, and managment has poor skills. Besides that they are not able to deal with arouse situations ignoring customers requests. In addition poor Health and Safety. Arrival- We arrived at the pier 1pm, and we had to wait for the hotel boat up to 4pm. I have asked the staff if I could pay for my own boat taxi to the hotel, but they advised me to wait for the hotel boat. So we waited in the city up till 4pm with 4 children with us. In the Taxi boat arranged by the hotel, there was 19 people inside including staff (1) and 6 children. There were 14 life jacket in total(health and safety issue). As soon we arrived at the hotel, they informed us that we had to pay 150bth for each person ( 6 of us total 600bth- children under 8 no pay). I questioned, if I had to pay why I had to wait for the hotel boat instead of pay my own taxi boat and I could arrive there before with 4 children. The manager was looking far away and ignore what I was saying. Staff - most of them does not speak English and whoever does will pretend they do not understand such was managment in front desk. Staff from breakfast lack of motivation and seems to be not interested and you have to wait till when they feel like to come and serve you.Facilities- boat service is twice a day (8am and 12:30 pm) in case do you need to go to the city, you have to pay 800bht one way. You must be prepared to rely on the resort for everything. Still have a lot to say... but no space
Our stay at Phi Phi Relax was absolutely amazing. With that being said, I was not looking for a 5 star luxury resort experience. The only way to access the resort is via water taxi. You are likely to get wet on arrival and departure so plan your attire appropriately. The staff on arrival was amazing with assisting to load, unload, and transport luggage to your room. Check in was acceptable. The rooms were very well maintained and clean. You must me prepared for the fact that you will not have power during the day and will not have a/c at night (only a fan at night). The property overall was in great condition and well maintained. Our only complaint was the service at the restaurant. The food was very good and reasonably priced, but the main guy in charge of service did not have a good attitude and appeared disgruntled at all times. The other servers at the restaurant were friendly, but poorly trained in service.
Beautiful, quiet place. The people that worked there were helpful and courteous! Would recommend if you don't mind no A/C and cold showers.
Kohn Phi Phi was the highlight of my trip to Thailand, and PPRelax was an incredible beachfront getaway. I prefer the beach bungalows to those up on the hill, which require a very steep walk. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly. Great service. The electricity o's OFF between 8am- 6pm, but that's island life, and it didn't bother me a bit. It's paradise here!
This location is beautiful, especially for those who are committed to seeing the Phi Phi islands and don't mind tourism. The benefit of this hotel is that it is off the beaten path and provides privacy while still allowing you to access the islands via hike or hotel boat ($5/pp 1-way). That said, if you are a person who doesn't travel much and doesn't mind overpaying for things, you might not mind this hotel. If you don't like being taken advantage of or treated poorly, this isn't your best option. Cleanliness: Our room was beautiful and comfortable (no AC and occasional bugs, but that is normal in this part of the world). Cleanliness was the big issue -- there were cockroach droppings all over our bathroom and sink upon arrival, and not once during our 4 day stay were they cleaned up. Additionally there was significant trash left on the beach and behind bungalows, none of which was collected. Staff: As mentioned above, trash on the beach was not regularly gathered and rooms not cleaned. The staff is rude, particularly if you ask for anything. We also encountered a bit of additional laziness - staff hiding behind bungalows watching YouTube videos for over 1 hour. Price: Adequate drinking water is not provided and there is no option to refill a water bottle. If you do not bring in your own water, expect to pay 3-4x normal Thai prices. Food is also 3-4x normal prices, so we hiked to town every day to eat. If you want to pay a fair price for anything, hike to town.
I've been to phi phi before but wasn't really impressed with the vibe of long beach area mainly because of loads of people and beaches being polluted by speedboats. So this time we booked phi phi relax beach resort because it's far away from all the rush and noise. Thankfully it didn't disappoint us! Vibe was awesome, beach has some dead corals but it's great for snorkeling and other activities, staff is extremely helpful, restaurant has awesome food, both western and traditional thai. Highly recommended!!!
There is no hot water or A.C in the beach huts and the have western style prices for things that do cost half as much 30 min down the coast. It was over priced and we ended up leaving 3 days early because the sleeping conditions and lack of even a lukewarm shower were unbearable. Never going back stay at phi phi village which is 10 min up the coast it is way better or phi phi hotel.
Wonderful beach resort with many amenities Bar restaurant good Swimming beach very nice Room bungalows updated clean well appointed Exclusions available wonderful. We had our private longtail boat for 4 island half day Worth transfer from pier
Relax phi phi was exactly that! We took an all day boat trip out one day and had a blast! Amazing how many tourists all want to see the same thing! Next day we just hung around The beautiful beach, and enjoyed the peaceful setting. The staff and grounds were amazing!! The only thing I would say is to Bring mosquito spray! they have netting for the beds, so that's great! I would come back in a heartbeat! Loved everything about this resort! We had a beachfront hut that was perfect!
