Provider-sourced guest reviews.
This place was a real surprise - so much better than we expected. Rooms were really good - we thought they might be tiny/ ramshackle for the price. Breakfast was included, and that was very good. The managers were friendly and very helpful. This place is such good value. I will stay again!
Very nice stay at Smyle Inn. The location is great, between old and New Delhi. Closed to train and métro station. The staff is so kind and does everything to help you. You'll enjoy a nice breakfast on a rooftop. They also provide Airport pickup which IS very conveniant when you arrive in a big city like Delhi.
Rooms are clean, good for stays. Nearby to all the attractions. Good staff, good service, good food. Special thanks to Manish the manager for the best service.
Had a nice, comfortable stay at Smyle Inn, Paharganj. The rooms were clean, the location is convenient, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout. A special thanks to Ravi, who was especially kind and supportive, making the stay smooth and welcoming. Would happily stay here again.
Too cold and exhausted after given various nonsense why hot water cut off after 2 minutes after beingtold 10 20 minutes wsit then moving to a couple of rooms with sats so was lije outside. Gave up on it chdnged money with them to pay the one night driver and food but still was incorrect amd no receipt provided. After all of it obviously not recommending especially as have just paid in effect same at many hostels last 3 months with none of this occurring. Lesson learnt.
I always stay at Smyle Inn. The location is fantastic, 10 mins walk from New Delhi station so very convenient and in the heart of Pahar Ganj. More importantly, as a female solo traveller I feel safe at this place because the staff are so kind and helpful. Rooms are basic and clean, hot water when you need it and a decent breakfast. I would highly recommend it.
Great stay at the Smyle inn Delhi!! They assisted us in so many ways - Day trips, travel, recommendations. Ravi was great - he took us on a lovely walking tour. Would definitely recommend
Really good hotel in the center of busy district. The hotel is hidden in the narrow street so you can't hear the noise. The receptionist Ravi was really helpful and friendly. The staff was very attentive and supportive. If we asked for something it was fixed immediately. I would definitely come back if i will visit India again.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Helped us out in a few situations and knowledge. Decent rooms and they're always there if you need anything. Thanks again nick
Excellent! Clean, always friendly. Great value. I truly have no complaints. It was great to see Amit from Bihar's smiling face, always ready to help. I'm not a fake reviewer. I'm from NZ.
Had a wonderful stay! The highlight was receptionist Ravi Jaiswal—extremely friendly, sociable, and always ready to help. Made us feel right at home!
Simple and nice hostel. The staff is very friendly and help you with everything you need, special thanks to Amit for great service and the travel host Rishi for helping us planning the next part of our trip. The hostel is located by a busy marked with lots of shops and food to experience. The hostel is a little tricky to find the first time, so make sure you’ve downloaded the location beforehand or have data on your phone. There is people in the street trying to scam you when you arrive, so don’t trust them or follow them to tourist offices. The travel office in the hostel can book you tours and drivers that can take you anywhere you want. Special shoutouts to Ravi our Delhi tourguide and driver Rishevh who took us to Agra and Jaipur (very nice car).
This is the best hotel in Paharganj and great value for money. The place is extremely clean and the staff are super kind and helpful, all of them are wonderful and they help you with everything you need. The breakfast in the rooftop is also great. It is lovely to enjoy there in the morning and talking to other travellers. I met very nice people there. From now on I'll stay in this hotel whenever I go back to Delhi.
This is an excellent hostel - the staff are friendly and welcoming, the rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast is really good and changes regularly. The staff really want to help, and they give really good advice and recommendations. The location is really convenient for exploring the city, as it is located right by a major train station and a large market. I would stay here again, and would recommend it to others.
Nice location near to pahadgang and walking distance from New Delhi railway station and RK Puram metro station. Helpful staff, amazing breakfast which already included in the price and good prices. I stayed here twice and able to recommend without any hesitation.
Awesome and friendly stay.... Highly recommend who are seeking for a pocket friendly hotel. Everything neat and hygiene. Near to New Delhi railway station. They have their own cab facilities, tourism guides etc. Receptionist people are good and helpful.
We had a wonderful stay at Smyle Hotel in New Delhi . The hotel is clean and comfortable, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The food at the hotel restaurant was delicious, and the manager was very helpful in recommending places to shop without getting ripped off. Overall, we highly recommend Smyle Hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay in New Delhi
Good location, friendly staff. Backpacker style. Had what we needed. 2 adults 2 teenager
Staff, rooms, food , location were all amazing, Really can’t thank the staff & smile inn eneough for a truly life changing experience, More then happy & pleased I picked a place to stay that was so, affordable, friendly & secure, Adventure of a lifetime.
Don't Go this hotel .. it's not hotel it's hostel .. u can't have fun .. or chat with your friends .. or have a laugh .. the always call u to don't make any sound .. u cant even close the door normally .. u have to close it very gently .. or they will call u.. and raise complain against u .... Please don't go here it's my humble request.. not recommended at all
We had a nice stay at Smyle Inn - the room was spacious and had a functioning hot shower (which hasn't been the case in a lot of other places we stayed at on our trip!). Location was great too, as was about 10 mins walk from New Delhi metro station where the Airport Express Line goes from. Only downside was that it was quite noisy inside the room at night as the street below was pretty busy. But otherwise we had a great few days there. And Rinku, who served us some lovely breakfasts and coffee on the rooftop cafe, was particularly wonderful!
Smyle Inn is situated right in the middle of the picturesque Paharganj with its network of narrow magic alleyways. The staff is super friendly and helpful, always makes me feel at home. And the breakfast is very tasty. Smyle Inn is my place in Delhi, I have been going there for years now.
The hotel is located near many spots we wanted to visit. The rooms were clean, and most of our requirements for a short stay were met. The staff were friendly and they also let us keep our bags after checkout while we travelled the city for a couple of hours which was a great plus.
The rooms are small but comfortable, with everything you need (good mattress, AC, and toilet stuff). There is a super nice rooftop, but the best about Smyle Inn is the staff! Kind, welcoming and helpful in everything, they made us feel home!
4/5 stay. Really lovely hostel staff such as Jaai. Clean rooms, locked doors, clean working showers. The street is close to a public toilet but that does not affect the hostel stay. Good recommendation given by the staff for Everest restaurant nearby
Excellent Hotel in relation price quality located in one of the neuralgic points of the city of New Delhi the best thing without a doubt is the hotel staff always ready to help and collaborate in everything that is required, the breakfast offered in the vicinity is a fresh breakfast clean and local food that helps you to live the experience of visiting India. We would like to highlight the help of Michael Ravi who is part of the hotel staff a really close friendly and reliable person.
Good staff always ready to help. WiFi worked well and there was hot water. The room and bathroom was clean for Indian standards. New Delhi station is a short walk and so is metro station. Overall good for a short stay in Delhi
Property was clean, area of property dirty unsafe like pick pocketers etc
Wish I had stayed somewhere else, it was a disappointment. Nothing horrible or unsafe, just rude staff and mediocre everything. The area is nice, though. The beds are comfortable enough. The water gets warm (not hot) and only lasts 5 min. THE WIFI DOES NOT WORK (at least in the building I was in). Breakfast was disappointing. I paid for a nicer room, and don’t feel like I really got anything by doing that. If you’re looking for something simple and don’t need wifi, this place will work. Wish I could have had a more pleasant last stay in India.
Manish was a super helpful and friendly front desk manager. He made my first few days in Delhi very comfortable and welcoming:)
Smyle inn was absolutely the best choice for my stay in Delhi. All employees are friendly kind and very helpful!! They tried their best at all times to fulfill all our needs and go beyond during our stay. They also provide extra services like car transfers to make your travel easier. Great location in the middle of the main bazaar road, 10 mins to the metro and train station. Rooms are large and okay to India standards. Seems to be the choice of many internationals. They have a lovely rooftop where breakfast is served every morning. Breakfast team is great! Special thanks to Amitji , Aliji, Rahji, Mohanji and Muksji - for your friendliness kindness and warm smiles.
nice for stay
Harish has been very helpful. Very nice staying there. Thanks for all
Nos hospedamos por segunda vez en vez en Smiley inn.Excelente relacion calidad precio.Nos ayudaron con todas nuestras solicitudes.Volveria sin dudarlo
My experience is worst as there is only a 5 feet road in front of hotel and there are poorly maintained public toilets in the beginning of the road which smells horrible. I would not recommend this hotel for family,
I had an awesome stay at Smyle Inn. The staffs and the owner were very kind. Thank you for a safe and wonderful time.
Very kind and pleasant staffs. Safe and comfy stay for foreigners and locals. I’ve enjoyed the terrace and the morning breakfasts.
It was ok
Friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. Convenient location in a very lively part of New Delhi. Some say the area is unsafe but we did not encounter problems. Just do not engage with or otherwise encourage any touts or other solicitors who may approach you. Stayed in a very basic double room which was adequate but not luxurious.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone. Gorgeous building eith beautiful wall creation with great ideas, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality rooms, and high quality service.
This place was a great deal for the price in Paharganj. It's India, so everything is worn in, but was clean and worked properly. If you're looking for value and proximity, this is the place. If it's your first time in India, I'd recommend getting a ride there, as it could be hard to find on your own (it's down an alley). Breakfast was small, but good, and usually consisted of juice, a dessert, some sort of fruit, and various toasts (just enough to get you to lunch). Staff was very attentive and friendly.
The hotel staff was great and the hotel was fine, the rooms are far smaller than they look with the shower over the top of the toilet. You have to ring reception and ask if they can make the shower hot and give it 10 minutes every time you use it and same goes for the air conditioning which was pointless as even when it was on the room was still boiling I’m 99% sure there air conditioning doesn’t work. Which an English man in India defo needed!!
This is not a four or five star hotel; it is, instead, a very inexpensive place to stay in beautiful Delhi, India. Part of it is a youth hostel and the rest is a regular hotel, and while there are no frills, it is exactly what they advertise: a place to shower, sleep, and relax after a day of sightseeing, for people who do not want to spend a fortune on accommodations. They have a beautiful rooftop terrace, they offer a free, basic breakfast daily, the rooms are air conditioned, and they have probably the MOST helpful hotel staff I have ever encountered. (Hey, Harish, they ALL deserve a raise - they are the best part of your establishment!) They also offer a professional who will book guided tours for you, extremely inexpensive ones, even on the same day. The tours were terrific, in a private, air conditioned car with driver. We were very pleased with our stay!
Personally, it was a nice stay for me at SmyleInn, despite the room provided me was not the room shown at the booking. The room which I was given is somewhat smaller and without chair inside it. Area is crowded, but I seriously enjoyed it as we go for traveling in other country to get different experiences in the aspects of societal and cultural. Specially Mr. Alam at reception is unlike many others, he is a good and genuine person with great hospitality. Hopefully, SmyleInn management will take a follow up actions to give customer requested room instead of what hotel needs to provide him/her, or unless the real room must be shown at the booking. But that was not a big issue for me as the room provided me was somewhat OK. All in all, I recommend SmyleInn for travelers without any hesitation. Best regards, Amila (Sri Lanka)
Nice budget hotel near the railway station, very friendly and accommodating staff, they let me have shower in the evening before my train, highly recommend!
My stay here was different but very interesting The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The area gave me the true feeling that I was somewhere else other than a place in the U.S This was a real enjoyed experience.
Best feature is convenient location near to bazaar metro & train station (New Delhi)
Nice Hotel, good service and comfortable rooms. Staff is very Hospitable
Very good staff and very good experience. Totally recommended and it worths the money.
The room was clean and security was very good. Bathrooms small but ok for the price.
It had all I required, a bed, tv, hot water and space. Included breakfast and wifi, and situated in a good part of town.
We came here expecting a decent hotel. The location is on an extremely busy street and down an alley. Once we got past this, the hotel room was clean but the bathroom was cramped and the wood was rotted out due to water damage.
good to get airport pick up although price when paying was 50% MORE than quoted. paid for executive room , got a room that they do not show photos of. bathroom-you may need to ask staff to turn on gas so you can have hot water. So small you can have a shower while on the toilet. many backpackers here so vibe is ok and cool. although there are places much better for 5-10 MORE in this region . tour desk on lev 3 is good, professional and trustworthy, he will book trains etc for a fee of 100rup. breakfast is good, no choices just curry sauce and bread but taste was good
This was my last stop before I headed back home. I was out of all my money and this was the cheapest I could get. I thought that it would not be good, but to my surprise this was a gem of a place. Though there was very little social vibe, but other than that everything else was very good. The place was clean, the aircon worked well in the heat and the wifi was great too. The staff were above average and the location is in the middle of everything. I could buy loads of stuff from here on my way back. I recommend this place to anyone.
Worst Service ever, Hotel cancelled our booking and sold room to someone else without giving any reason. While booking we requested check around 11:30 PM (which hotel acknowledged). Upon arrival we were advised our booking has been canceled and there are no rooms available. We were left to find a different hotel to stay in the middle of the night. Hotel didn't even offer any assistance.
Actually had a comfortable stay but a bad experience on arrival when the hotel's lift from the airport wasn't there. I asked for an explanation but no one ever gave me a clear answer so I still don't know why. As a result of the hotel not arriving for the lift we had a really really unpleasant arrival in Delhi, got lost on the streets after our taxi dropped us and only located the hotel thanks to the chance kindness of passers by. The hotel is located up a small smelly lane and noone knows where it is, so asking for directions doesn't work. If the hotel says it is going to provide a lift it should do so or at least explain why they fail. It was a very dismal way to arrive. Not impressed.
Such a helpful staff. For budget place it is Al you could ask for
No hot water, never cleaned our room, the staff was always in a bad mood.
It was nice experince with smyle inn...
Friendly staff, clean room. Small but suited us fine. Right in the heart of the main bazaar. Beware of people trying to take you to the 'official tourist office'.
Please don't stay in this hotel. My room has bed bugs, no air ventilation and bad smelling towels. Very hard to locate, inside very narrow street. Not recommended even for 1 night.
Very helpful staff
This Hotel at present is all about Location Location Location !! Check in was typically Indian quick and painfree and met with a bottle of water. The room had clean sheets on the humungous king bed which is a bonus in India but the room was filthy dirty, floors and bathroom covered in mould and massive infestation of mosquitoes in the bathroom drains which are certainly a few problems that need to be fixed immediately and then it would be a must stay hotel in the center of the action , also the hotel room was extremely quiet but with no external window which didn't bother me but might others!! So a great place to stay at a reasonable price for Delhi with exceptional staff and once a few things are addressed. Didnt not have breakfast on my two night stay so cant say if any good . I would certainly stay again and am in a week on a fly thru in New Delhi for two nights
Not too bad for a budget hotel in Delhi near the railway station. Friendly staff and the owner Harish is very disponible and helpful. Ask for him for any problem you encounter.
I stayed here twice during October. First time was two nights. It was good and the staff were very helpful and polite. The room was ok and a reasonable size and clean. The bathroom was a bit grim with loose taps and a cold shower. My second time coincided with Divali and i stayed two nights again. The room was very small and a tiny bathroom but the shower was hot this time. The staff were good again and arranged a taxi for me to the airport.
The worst thing about this hotel is the location. It is located inside an that is too stinky (alley) because there is an open-urinal place
Clean room and sheets; reasonable free breakfast, low price Staff switched off ac when I was sleeping. When I called him via room telephone, he said that ac tripped, without my telling him what my call was about. Later at the front desk, he told me that he thought I was out, that's why he had switched it off. I took this hotel over a comparable hotel because of wired internet connection mentioned under its amenities. There was no wired internet port anywhere in the room. Saw many budget conscious europeans and koreans. The area seemed safe.
I booked an airport pick up which was late and in the end I got my own taxi. The staff were kind and really helpful.
Horrible stay. Staff was clearly not helpful. We reserve 2 days before and had to wait nearly 2hours to get a room. Room look much bigger on photos. There were rats outside, we cannot open the one and only window. There were dust everywhere ; cleaning very poor. It was a terrible stay. We run away before the time of check out.
Good place to stay for basic accommodation at affordable prices. Did not get to eat breakfast as had to leave before it was served.Quite a distance from Delhi Airport.
I had a great stay! I had some local issues during my first scheduled stay and even though I never showed up the first night as a result, the manager took the time to email me and give me advice on this issue - you really cannot ask for anything more. The next time I came to Delhi I made sure to book here again as I felt I was in good hands and was not disappointed. Lovely hotel, clean room, helpful pleasant staff and the manager remembered me from our emails and was extremely accommodating. It's rare to find such a personal service in a huge city and I can I speak highly enough about this place.
The room I booked was nothing like what was displayed on booking site. The bed was very hard. Pillows very uncomfortably. Internet was intermittent. Bathroom tap ware was falling out of its basin. Also no hot water. Don't hold your breath on the breakfast. Never again...
The staff was very helpful and even was able to change my room dates after my bus broke down on the way to Delhi. Convinent location next to the rail station. Couldn't have asked for a better room for the cost. They can even help you plan your next trip with rail and bus tickets
Satisfactory
Suitable for stay, walkable distance from ND Railway st.found exactly as per description given on Net.
Everything was OK. Pleasant staff. Rooms are large and spacious with nice large comfy beds and pillows
Location is good for the train station and shopping. Our room was very noisy because of the poor windows and insulation. Bathroom was small but shower was good (you have to ask reception to turn on the hot water for your room). Breakfast was nice.
entrance from main road is very narrow and dirty, near by open urinal, near by open non veg cooking, no air circulation
It was a very good place to stay. We liked the room and the customer service was excellent. The hotel is right in the middle of the bazaar and hence all the shops are nearby... Clothes, crafts, bags, etc. There is also a doctor nearby, there is a medical store, Ayurvedic medicine shops. There is also a restaurant nearby and we ordered food for a night. The food was decent. Most of the days we had lunch/dinner at Connaught place which is ~7-10mts away. Beware of travelling by cycle rickshaw to Palika bazaar as they drop you off at the backside of the bazaar and you need to walk atleast 7-8mts from the drop-off point to the bazaar. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay.
Excellent value for money. Staff really helpful and knowledgeable
Hi all I am here to do a review for the Smyle Inn hotel. I have stayed at this hotel tree weeks September last year while I was there for Dentistry work(having Implants).I requested to be picked up from the airport and they did, when arrived the hotel i been told that I won't be paying for the transport since I will be a guest for a three weeks it will be free.lovely. the room i was placed was a double room the was in a good condition and clean,. the staff have been amazing. Ali,Mohan,Jetandra and Anil. they been really good to me and very helpful. even when i wanted to go toa dressmaker, ali took me to one near the hotel , was honest and affordable. breakfast was included, however i missed most of it, as i would eat out, but the days that i couldnt sightsee and was in too much pain, they offered to deliver the breakfast to my room and also ordered food for me(lunch, dinner). i was quite scared at the thought of being in Delhi and in general in a foreing country specially with what you hear on the new, but the staff made me feel at home and looked out for me. Thank you Smle Inn team, you are the best.
Frienly staff. Suited our buget and clean. Complimentry breakfast on roof top
With a 3.4/5 hotels.com rating and a 4/5 trip advisor rating, we were expecting a lot more. It is hard to find down a tiny road called "slum alley" and the entrance to the alley is flanked by two urinals. We ended up having to stay for additional nights when half of our family got ill so we got to know the staff pretty well and we ended up with some positives and negatives. The hotel is bare bones basic. There is no housekeeping, so you have to ask for toilet paper, towels, changing of towels, etc. The rooms are very noisy late into the night and early in the morning. Breakfast is average, but nice that it is offered. The worst part of breakfast was having to listen to a person hock up loogies to the point of gagging and then spit. We prayed this wasn't the cook. Wifi is good, but you only get a code good for 48 hours, which typically would only last 24 hours and then you'd have to ask for new codes. On the positive side, the staff is nice. They seemed genuinely concerned when we turned ill. There is a booking office that can assist with travel plans, which was helpful. The owner seemed like he wanted to help make our stay in Delhi a positive one. I would say that this hotel could be a great little gem in the middle of the bazaar with a few basic improvements. I would challenge the owner to stay at his own hotel for a week to see what is missing. It would take relatively little to see major improvements.
Accommodation is basic but ok. Great location and very friendly staff.
The hotel is at a fantastic location, right by the main bazaar street and only a 5-10 minut walk from the New Delhi Train station and the (airport) metro. Maybe a little bit hard to find the first time, so come prepared. The rooms are basic, a little worn down, but clean. People complain about the size of the rooms-its a budget hotel in the middle of Delhi! The size is OK, if you need bigger pay extra for a better room. The complimentary breakfast is a nice extra touch, even though it's nothing special. If you need hot water, you need to ask the reception, it's not always on.
We were taken to place to be scammed on our way to the hotel before calling them and they came and collected us. Saving us from hundreds of dollars and trip out of town. Service and hotel were very nice. Very well spoken english.
The hotel is clean inside and staff here are friendly and helpful. the only problem is location... There is is public toilet at the end of the street that kicks up a real stink and you have to walk past it every day to enter and exit the hotel.... Not so pleasant. Other than that it's right near New Delhi station off a busy market street. If you want to jump in and experience Delhi and all its glorious mayhem this is the place for you!! Clean, friendly, cheap and very local to a lot of New Delhi sights!
Its was very bad experience with the service of Hotel .. they were very rude and no service. we picked our back to room were we dont have lift and again we brought back.
Fantastic hotel n my experience is best... and chenise food was very good, fornt of the smyle hotel.. bathroom cleanliness is best...
It's a budget hotel so don't have unrealistic expectations but it is clean. It's a short walk to New Delhi railway station and Connaught isn't too far either. The district is very alive and it's an experience to stay in it.
Main backpacker district off of Main Bazaar. Superior room was fine. Staff weren't particularly friendly apart from owner and tour desk- latter very helpful. Free breakfast was good on roof terrace
Not to stay. There r plenty of hotels nearby. Mostly better condition n cheap. New Delhi station. Usually lots of choice off the narrow roads from main bazzar road
The area is not ideal for a family or couple outing. Breakfast service is excellent. The experience was an average overall
Harish nd staff v good. Std RM bath RM shower too tiny. No phone working. They had to shift to another RM which was bigger. They didn't charge extra for that and for my asst who came nd stayed later. Ac working but little smell filled in RM when it got started. Bed linen appeared was not changed. Brkfst good but staff argued for omelet without yolk! Had to climb stairs to 4th floor on high risers. Ent gully is filthy and smelly.
Pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and convenience of Smyle Inn. Will return. I like doing some shopping in the Pahar Ganj Bazaar before I fly out of India. The Nepalese restaurant immediately in front of the hotel is very good and open til 11pm.
Very helpful introductory email that explained how to get the the hotel from the station. It is right in the middle of the Bazaar (and only around 1/2 km from the New Delhi station), which is fascinating for people watchers and knick-knack and more discerning shoppers. The staff were helpful and very pleasant and the room spacious, clean and neat ... and quiet, being along a small off-shoot from the main bazaar road. The hotel is also split into two parts that are close to each other ... moving from one to the other for breakfast (but this was no hassle). Though not the cheapest option, I feel it was good value for someone who likes some comforts but still on a budget. I'm happy to stay here again.
American here. Excellent hotel. The owner, Harish, arranged for airport pickup. The driver had a sign with our name waiting for us. The owner also arranged some personnel requests with ease for us. The breakfast is good and the service is great. Linkoo, a general staff is all smiles and helpful while the travel manager on the 4th floor helped us with many personnel travel requests. Very clean rooms and site. The hotel is in Delhi, so don't expect the surrounding area to be perfectly clean but rest assured it is in a perfectly safe and accessible area just 3 minutes walk to New Dehli rail station. We leave very happy and would return.
Room not alloted according to the picture. There was no tumbler nor hand shower for use after you freshen up. Flush system to be checked as it caused great inconvenience
This is a basic budget friendly place that met all my requirement as a budget traveller. The internet was fast and available everywhere, the breakfast was a pleasant surprise and the staff were friendly. They helped by answering a lot of questions. The area itself is central and very close to most things.
My husband and I stayed at the Smyle in, once upon arrival in Delhi, then again just before we left India. The staff at Smyle Inn were very helpful and pleasant, the rooms were very good and we enjoyed our stay very much. I would recommend this guest house to anyone looking to stay in New Delhi. They can organize excursions, flights, and organize airport pickup. Everything went very smoothly, even though we arrived in India very late.
