Hotel Pila Seca 11

Central location to Cathedral, restaurants. Couldn’t sleep due to surrounding loud music no hot water and issues with valet spent over 2 hrs waiting for car to get picked up

The hotel is walkable all around down town, and free valet parking is awesome

Would not recommend! The hotel messed up my reservation, so put us into a room with broken barn doors and no windows - I have pictures. You could literally see through the door. The room was next to reception, and the staff would talk and make noise all night. The hotel was super loud, and one night the staff just walked into our room at 2 AM to "check" the room. We had to put a chair against the door to feel safe. On top of it, they would serve breakfast in the hall outside our room door and it sounded like a party every morning was happening next to the bed. Add in the 7 am wordless screaming and be prepared for no rest at all. The tub didnt drain, and the water was either boiling or freezing. Horrible.

Nice little hotel. Well run. However our room was facing the street and it was very noisy at night. I think there is a bar across the street, Very hard to sleep. Also, it took the valet parking attendant over one hour to bring our car!

Room 104 had a strong sewer smell.

My reservation was confirmed for King bed and I got a Full size. There were no other room for me.

Very good

Rustic in a very nice way. Internet was not always available. Problem was the provider, not the Hotel.

Muy mala experiencia en este hotel. Los baños viejos, algunos sin puerta. Las señoritas de recepción no podían contestar nuestras preguntas. Se fue la Luz en dos de las habitaciones y no había nadie Que pudiera solucionar el problema.

we loved this place very clean! Super close to main attractions in san miguel de allende the place was magical mix between the colonial structure and the modern hipster style

Cute small hotel, great location in the very center of town! You can walk to a bunch or restaurants and bars.

Great staff. The room was spacious and clean. It is a short walk from the plaza and there are a lot of restaurants nearby.

Amenidades, bares y restaurantes a solo unos pasos.

Location, staff. Couldn't be any better. Everything very walkabout, food, bars, grocery, money exchange, sites

Excelente ubicacion

Perfect

The hotel is in a great location, a couple of blocks from the main plaza. The rooms were clean and spacious.

Un hotel muy acogedor, a pasos de la iglesia, perfectamente ubicado en una calle tranquila. Restaurantes de varios tipos muy cercanos. Habitación amplia, de bonita arquitectura buena luz, silenciosa de noche.

This was such an amazing stay. The location is great. It’s in the center of everything. Everything is walking distance. No vehicle is needed. The rooms are big and spacious and the customer service was great.

We just loved it, awesome location.. super friendly staff.. we loved everything!

All photos showed nicely decorated and colorful rooms but ours was very bland with white walls, no pictures or decorations at all. No comfortable chair; only a wooden straight-backed chair. The valet service was very slow.

Great location and awesome price, we spent one night only but it is highly recommended

The staff at this hotel went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. They are very friendly and took care of every need. Not only that the price was good for the room we got, came with everything and was fairly spacious and beautiful. Overall my experience was great and definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a good price and stay.

This boutique hotel is really cute, centrally located with nice staff. Unfortunately, we were there during a cold spell and the room was extremely cold and there was no heat nor extra blankets at the front desk. Also, the walls are extremely thin so we could hear all the conversations at the front desk. Staff would be engaged in conversations with each other or someone at the front door at 11pm, 1 am, 6 am, etc. bring ear plugs!

Alfonso was wonderful. We were able to leave our suitcases before check in and they kept them after check out until our driver showed up. Loved the terrace, although it was for smokers I was the only one using it and I don’t smoke. Extremely help ful staff, great location

While the overseer gentleman was on site, things went well. When he would leave for the day, the young employees did not take care. Very loud parties late at night. One night was so bad I could not even turn the TV on loud enough to drown out the racket. At midnight I went to the desk to complain, and she said she spoke no English. I cussed in Spanish and she went to their door. It was so loud, they did not even hear her knocking. She persisted, and they finally came to the door. Ten minutes later - all quiet. I was in the front courtyard area, so if you are further back in the complex, your stay may be more comfortable. The location is the best thing about this place. Very close to the city center. My room was all dark colors and had no windows. I felt as if I was in a cave. Fortunately there was a courtyard I could set up my laptop and be ok. Good internet connection. And you will eventually get hot water. If you rent a room with a bathtub thinking to take a bath - forget it. Those tubs are for decoration only.

Pros: The staff was very nice. Always there promptly when needed The property was clean, pretty, quaint, and well maintained. Cons: Little things. Improvement could be made by having signs to explain how to use safe, towel use, spa services. Green hotel that provides bottled water instead of purifying local water?

A convenient location for the downtown area.

Initially, the hotel and the room with terrace werel attractive; however, the light switch did not work; our washcloth and bath mat disappeared and the last night we were locked out of our room.

The hotel located close to the central of the city. It is good location for tourists. It is a little bit different from now a day’s hotel, however, histrical feeling made us exisotic atmosphere.

This hotel is very clean and well situated, staff is very friendly.

Quiet and spacious and walking distance to center of town and cathedrals.

We liked the excellent service and hospitality! The room was clean and the enviroment very friendly!

Patio needs cleaning. We stayed in the 4 beds bedroom will help if bathroom has some mats specially the shower for safety.

It’s a beautiful hotel, with the charm of San Miguel de Allende in all of its decor. Staff was welcoming and super nice. The room was big and had all the things we needed. Our room was next to a rooftop that had a beautiful view of the town. Also the location is perfect. It’s located a block or 2 from the main square. It has restaurants and bars close by. I highly recommend this hotel.

Centrally located and offers free parking. 10 minute walk from main plaza and other points of interest.

Nice Hotel! everything is walking distance, clean, comfortable

A lovely hotel in gorgeous San Miguel de Allende. Everything is just a walk away.

Looks like and old Hacienda. We like that better than the modern style

The hotel was very central and close to everything. It was clean and felt very safe with gated security on the main street. Awoken early to the sounds of birds and church bells ringing. Anna at reception was very kind and helpful and added to the enjoyment of my stay

Great service an unique location

Amazing location and felt very safe. Very little amenities and no breakfast, but overall the hotel was very quaint and clean.

Very good value. Excellent location. Clean and functional. The room was sparse, a little short of minimalist, but worked very well for us. We suggest you book a room away from the street because of street noise. On balance, we'd go back.

The traditional style of the rooms is fascinating.

Location is perfect! Very close in the middle of historic center.

Centrally located. Good wifi. Stunning right room as long as you don’t stay on ground floor which is dark.

Excellent location. Very clean and well maintained. Unique interiors.

Hotel was beautiful and very clean and well kept. It had a modern/colonial feel to it. The room we stayed in was very spacious with two full size bunk beds to accommodate my whole family. I wish they could have had a sitting area. The bathroom was massive with double sinks. The staff was quite friendly and always willing to make us feel welcomed. We also enjoyed the breakfast that was included in our stay. I can highly recommend this quaint hotel.

Beautiful hotel and excellent staff! Close to center.

Beautiful Spanish Colonial hotel. Great price and close to shops and restaurants.

Great location. Clean. Big rooms. Nice yo have a parking included.

My room on the second floor had a terrace and large windows. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. I would definitely recommend this place as it was only a couple of blocks from the main plaza and with many options for restaurants all around.

Within walking distance to Parroquia, restaurants. Aesthetically pleasing. Nice breakfast at nearby hotel.

Outstanding hotel in a good location. Room was nice.

Good location next to the center of San Miguel. Breakfast is two blocks away at a sister property.

The hotel is in a great location, near restaurants, bars and downtown. The only downside is that my room did not have a window, other rooms do have windows though. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Rooms are very unique, clean, comfortable and good size. Outside areas were great for view. Close to many good restaurants and attractions.

Excellent stay for the price. Jr Suite was spacious and quiet. Downtown San Miguel within walking distance. The hotel has a terrace with nice views of town. A big thank you to Blanca at check in and the rest of the staff for being super friendly and accomodating.

Really bad attitude at front desk. Told us we could have breakfast at sister hotel. Not true.

hotel was very average for the price. checked in Feb 9\18.Alfonso the Porter was extremely helpful. But, the girl working the front desk was extremely rude and lacked customer service skills. there was 6 people in our party and none of us are likely to stay there again. hotel was conveniently located from town centre and restaurants etc. rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.

Location is great. Close to everything. But that makes it a little loud! Staff wonderful. Clean, clean, clean! I’d stay there again for sure. Only things I would have liked in my room was a comfy chair and better lighting. For the price and location A+. I stayed 8 nights.

This is an awesome place to stay! It's within walking distance to the main garden square, where the lovely church is! The room was spacious and clean, the hotel is cute and with a traditional yet chic feeling. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful!

Excelent hotel the best location. the location of the hotel is very good, it is close to everything, a very clean place, very friendly staff and always willing to help. I highly recommend it.

Hotel is close to downtown, on a secluded street. I enjoy the decorations and the comfortable hotel room. I also enjoyed the balcony view. The attending personnel were very friendly, and wifi coverage was great. I liked the quiet and the helpfulness of staff. San Miguel de Allende is a beautiful town, although somewhat touristy.

Excellent hotel, very clean and good location The staff was very friendly

The location was fabulous. The staff pleasant and will to accommodate our needs. Would stay there again.

This Hotel is quite a gem! Super cute and charming! The linens were very clean and the entire room was nice and tidy. The staff was very attentive, they even had a personal note along with some chocolates to welcome us, which I personally loved . We felt very safe and it is near everything. Our overall expierence was delightful!

We only stayed for one Night at kuku ruku is a nice hotel. I had great king size bed that was beyond comfortable. It is close enough to the center of the town. There is restaurants that are close by that are good. SM is a lovely town very romantic.

Can't wait to stay here again loved it! The rooms were clean we got 3 rooms for family trip and overall they were great!

I only wish the internet signal was better in my room

The hotel is ok, however it has a tub that is there just for decoration. We inquiry about it because wanted to take a bath and they let us know that it was only for decoration purposes!

Small, cozy and clean hotel. Lacks a dining room but at very short walking distance you can find inexpensive options to have breakfast. The staff is nice and always open to provide with advise or recommendations. Highly recommended for couples with no kids. The rates are accesible and around market levels. Expect to return soon.

Excellent and would come back!!! For more time. I recommend this hotel to everyone. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and clean. Great service!

Disappointed due to dirty bath towls and bed sheets, no phone or hair dryer in rooms

Wonderful hotel. We stayed in the junior suite. The room was exquisite: very well decorated, high ceilings, and very romantic. The hotel was walking distance from central. There were a couple of items that could be identified as an issue but did not have any impact on our stay. One being that there was no air conditioning but weather was so nice that the ceiling fan was sufficient and the other being that there was no refrigerator. Very pleased with the hotel and would stay there again.

Very happy with my stay. Great location and service Nice and clean room for a family

Great green hotel in the heart of old San Miguel. Literally walking distance to everything. Boutique hotel with nice quiet rooms.

Lovely place, I will definitely recommend it!

great ,friendly staff, everyone was really nice and very knowledgeable, and helpful .willrecoomend to friends and family. the only thing I wish they would have the option of paying with credit card or cash, we wanted to pay with cash , but we checked out early around 03:45 am.No receptionist , only caretaker was there to gives the bill and said that the card would be charged.

just an extra blanket , it was cold at night , nice location great staff

Great location, clean, great staff and wonderful breakfast

we had a wonderful stay at the Kuku Ruku. Solid secure hotel, super helpful staff, excellent breakfast. Best location in historic section of town. Will visit again.

Wonderful hotel at a great price, especially considering a delicious breakfast is included (3 doors down and on the roof with a wonderful view)! The room was large, clean, comfortable and contemporary. Everything was great, except no hot water or and very low water pressure. Also, the location is perfect! Staff speaks little English, but are very helpful and accommodating.

Hotel and crew were awesome, the only problem was that our room was next to reception and staff was talling since 7am and we could hear them.

The hotel location was great, close to everything. The room was very large. One morning I was unable to get hot water, but every other day the shower water was fine. I never did get hot water in the sink. Overall, I would highly recommend this B & B.

Bed squeaked a lot. No wifi in the room. Other than that. Beautiful place.

Great small, quaint hotel. Taking into consideration the age of the buildings overall very well kept and nice decorations made for a comfortable stay. A few minor cosmetic details could use attention but I would definitely stay at Kuku Ruku again. Great breakfast also!

We spent a night there. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The girl at the desktop is very sweet and always willing to help. The decoration of the room was quite cool. It was somewhat difficult to access there (2nd roof by the rooftop) but if you´re still young, it should be fine. I would definitely stay there again...!

Very nice hotel, very close to most popular, fun and cultural places to visit.

Enjoyed our stay at Kuku Ruku. Staff was friendly and helpful. Clean room, comfortable bed. The only problem was poor wifi service. Other than that I would definately stay here again

Not so bad but no Wi-Fi in room, no hot water and bugs easily get in

This is a fine option for a mid range hotel. It's in a fantastic location, very central, only 5 minute walk to main plaza/restaurants & bars. We felt very safe here. We booked a king room which was very spacious & a nice big bathroom. The only negatives were poor wifi (you can really only access it in the central area outside of your room & it is quite slow). Also the water pressure from the shower was terrible (not sure if this is a general San Miguel issue or not?). Otherwise the staff were very friendly, they helped us book taxis & were very patient with us as we do not speak spanish.

Poor Internet in the room but very good in the lobby. San Miguel de Allende is magic and this hotel is in the heart of the town.

room was clean. hotel staffs speak lil english, but they were helpful. i had a lovely stay!

Cool little hotel short walk to main square, the king junior suite was beautiful, a little dark with only a window in the bathroom. Bed was ok, coukd have been a bit more comfortable. The staff were excellent and very friendly, and the breakfast next door that is included above the spa was delicious. We would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely 3 night stay at Kuku Ruku at the end of our 10 days in San Miguel de Allende. Our Jr. Suite was very private - no noise from other guests. We entered the spacious room and were greeted by the sound of water trickling from a hidden fountain. It lulled us to sleep on our first night. The king sized bed and garden doors to our own interior courtyard were a welcome surprise as well. We would definitely stay again at this "green" hotel. The staff were courteous and helpful, despite our inability to speak the language.

It was more than i expected

Easy check-in, hotel staff is super friendly and helpful. The beds are really comfy and have a nice feel to it. The hotel is 2 blocks from the main plaza, the city is alive day and night! The staff were more than helpful in arranging a couple of yours for us. They went above and beyond to help us out. Highly recommed Kuku Rukú

The service at the hotel was extraordinary. I left my cpap machine on the plane. Octavio, the manager, went to great lengths to find a company that rents them out, called and set up the rental (I don't speak Spanish) as well as set up transportation to and from the nearby city (80 km away). He is also returning the cpap for me after I left. Without his help I would have been in trouble - I have severe sleep apnea. The hotel is very clean, and the staff friendly. It is just a few blocks from the central plaza. There are numerous great little cafe's/restaurants very close by. 2 of our favorites are the La Grotto (best pizza) and Ten Ten Pi (great Margs). Kuku Ruku is part of a chain of 6 hotels in San Miguel managed by Octavio, so you can have a range from high end to more basic. Based on my experience, the service would be great at all of them.
