Nice to support Hotel School Clean, Simple, Good Staff
Location is a little far out
As always a friendly and very helpful welcome from all students and the general manageress. The hotel school still deserves support.
Language skills of some front of house students very weak - causing some . misunderstanding. Reception lacked information to answer inquiries.
The staff provide you with excellent service when you go anywhere or go home, always provide you with cold towels and cold water, the room is very clean, fruit platter on arrival, the restaurant breakfast is delicious, the air conditioning works well and swimming pool, the happy hour is very rich, the price is the lowest, it is really cheap compared to hotels in Sihanuville, anyway, I only stayed for 4 days, they took care of me like home, if you have a second booking, the hotel will provide a second whose names I can't remember from the front desk team.
AC did not cool. It worked but not cool. I COULD NOT SLEEP THE WHOLE NIGHT.
The pool was excellent, never crowded. Big hotel. Very quiet in its own grounds at night - and day. There is a free shuttle bus to town (7 hours in between) which is useful just because it's there. There is a restaurant on site open all day which serves basic economical fare.
Sometimes over-eagerness of staff to smile - this applicable to one particular member who put me in a furious state just before I left. The gym shouldn't get a mention. It would be better that way since it resembles something discovered in a shopping mall after a zombie apocalypse in the 80s, such is its dilapidated and old fashioned state. The fact that there is no real sign for tuk tuk drivers to follow otherwise without guidance they mostly get lost.
The hotel is well located and quiet. Room are average but OK the pool is nice
The hotel need a massive renovation and maintenance need to be done correctly ( shower not working - toilet also - the pool is not very clean - terrace - garden. For an hotel school training there is a lot of thing need to be adapted and follow the hotel industry concept
Receptionists were very friendly and helpful!
The pool.in clean and nice. The room was clean and comfortable
A little dated but a great price. Staff of set the rougher parts of the building
The menu offered granola, muesli and fresh fruit. On both mornings I was told no sir! The eggs were very greasy and there were ants on the toast and all over the table.
The fact that they advertise it as a school. Everyone working there are staff so no students getting work experience. The management is so incompetent that students could learn nothing from them. The facilities are good but not utilised. For instance, the restaurant was closed and the pool are didn't even sell ice cream let alone cocktails. This hotel has the potential to be a thriving business but instead of making profit they ask for donations. The only thing students of Don Bosco Hotel school can learn from the people running it is how to become professionals beggars.
Enjoyed two days at Don Bosco very much. A hotel run by a Catholic charity that trains young Khmers to run a hotel. The room spartan but very clean and comfortable. AC and Wifi worked perfect. Very good value too.
No lift, if you have suitcases
The hotel is excellent, every day the room was cleaned, towels changed. The staff is very friendly. The bus from the hotel took us to the beach. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
Staff were helpful and nice. the place was spacious with beautiful gardens and waterfalls. Lots of goldfish as well. the swimming pool was also great. I liked that this place is an educational place for many youngsters and they learn trades from being here. By staying here we support these young people get skilled up.
The fan in the bathroom was a little noisy.
staff was courteous and helpful restaurant offers good choices
the room, 301 is in bad condition
Good price
I was expecting the bar at the pool area to be open at night but never open. Also they made a mistake with my bill and overcharged my credit card $1500 dollars. I am waiting to get the money back now.
Fantastic meals Great customer service Very friendly Overall score 10 out of 10
Comfy bed, nice bathroom, every where was very clean. All the staff were very helpful.Good pool.
Unfortunately there was s very loud band playing next door until well past midnight who h kept us awake. The student staff were great
It was clean
Location The hotel looks better on the pictures than in the real life.
Great value, wonderful pool and lovely staff.
I wish the breakfast options on the menu were all available and the fitness room would finally get renovated.
Don Bosco Hotel School is not only a tourist hotel for tourists, but also a vocational training school for young Cambodians, especially me,i'm also a part from student who has been trained by the this school. Brother Roberto, he is a good person, kind, loving and compassionate to children, especially me. At my four years in DBHS is really precious, thank you.
same as last time no much comment on everything- its extremely old- service in restaurant just average
comment as above
At first like a Normal Hôtel correct check in by young Students. Bring you to the room 4 Floor no lift. Nice spacious room I have to said- facilities extremely old even tiles are out inside the pool no one removed it for 6 days I was there. I understand it’s a ONG- but still Restaurants are not open in evenings that I can understand- breakfast is not included. I left one day for trekking no one did my room Ahahah no even someone check it . For days lie dirty- of course I ask the FO it has been clean
It’s A older building you can see it’s not well maintained- the pool tile are out still inside no one removed it The gym extremely old I won’t used it so need dirty not not much clean better go to fitness center close by
I love the fact that this is a school. The people working here are really nice and accommodating. They offer a free transfer to the beach and the city including a return trip! This way it's not so bad to not be super close to the beach or downtown. The food in the restaurant is also really good.
If I absolutely have to mention a thing: the hotel is a little outdated. Although I wasn't bothered by it. Since this is a school for the poorest kids of Cambodia, I can imagine there are more urgent matters to spend money on.
Spacious, clean
Isolated, inconvenient
Except the entrance, we love this place and will continue to book this Don Bosco hotel school for our next truo
huge value for money! The place is a bit outdated but it has everything you would expect from an establishments far better rated. And you support the school.
Nice pool and area, staff friendly and helpfull. Rooms with good size and small balcony
Location is a bit far from city center and its inside Don Boscos big schollarea. No alcohol avaliable inside the hotel, but I allready know that. Resturant closed, got that info the day before we arrive...
Everything.
The pillow is the room is too big and tough. I got neck pain sleeping on it.
We stayed there for 4 nights. The hotel room was beautiful, clean and pretty quiet. The garden was pleasant, and so were the hotel staff. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the gelato shop nearby repeatedly. The beach was close by and the city center a ten minutes drive. The Prince mall in town shows good movies for cheap price, and is surrounded by a variety of restaurants. The hotel gym was a little unkept and rundown... Our stay was very pleasant, and we will come back next time around.
I don’t know how is their service but i cannot check in until 4:00PM. This is really bad as we are tired from the sea and the receptionist no response at all. Understood as Covid might lack of resources but they knew well how many room booked why don’t we’ll prepare. Just the comments, thanks.
We stayed for 1 night. Friendly, helpful staff! Clean and quiet! Fridge and safe in room . The restaurant was closed temporarily but the menu pictures and prices were amazing. Great pool! Beautifil grounds. Secure parking. Will be staying there again!
Matches the price you pay really, the whole area is just a huge Chinese construction site. Decent for one night. The pool is a nice bonus
The hotel is located in an area of calm and away from the craziness of the city. The shallow pool was refreshing and the staff tried very hard to please. The restaurant served very good meals. The patio door didn't lock but that was the only concern we had. I would return.
The hotel is part of a school where underpriviledged cambodian youth have the opportunity to train in hotel catering. It was good to contribute to this very valuable project, which also relies on the work of international and local volunteers. The hotel could benefit from having a small shop selling local crafts made by underpriviledged cambodian people, as this would both increase the appeal of the hotel and help these people.
The hotel is located away from the street at the back of the school. Hence it is pretty quiet which is great in Sihanoukhville where construction and roadworks are going on in every street. The rooms are spacious and clean and have all the facilities you need. Beakfast is ok but the restaurantservice is a bit erratic. The food they serve is good. The day we had dinner they closed the restaurant at 7.45pm which eally is too early for most guests. Although it is a hotelschool we did not see anyone supervising the work. All students try their very best to serve you.
In a nutshell, far away from wherever you want a go, terrible staff who won't assist you or will do reluctantly, rooms dirty with moist on the wall. When we arrive, although we had asked for a room with extra bed, it was not ready. We didn't have dinner because the restaurant was closing and they don't have snack option. We had to ask twice so that you get a taxi. Here you are on your own, you have been warned!
It is a nice spread out of the intense hustle and bustle of the new not yet finished Sihanoukville. And what a wonderful mission to teach the local population about hotelling, restaurant services, welding, and other trades.
The hotel is very nice and facilities is good. Just that do not have bus shuttle service from airport to this hotel. besides that, the road is not in good condition, taking the tuk tuk car to other places is quite dizzy.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. They helped us arrange transportation and called tuk tuks for us. They also translated things to the driver which was very helpful. The restaurant was good and the room was very big and clean.
I work as Tour Leader for Avventure nel Mondo. Me and my group arrived Don Bosco Hotel School late at night, at 10 pm. We had no water in the room, the roof of one room collapsed (luckily the guys were not in bed) and 1 room was full of bugs. I have been trying for more than 2 hours to ask the staff to change rooms and make sure my group could have a shower and sleep in a safe place. One of the customer of the hotel started shouting against me saying I was ridiculous and he used also other bad words I cannot repeat. None of the staff intervened. I strongly recommend you to avoid this place. I will never bring any other group here.
Myself and friends arrived late at the hotel after a delayed flight into Sihanoukville. We were told that they were very busy (we had booked online) so our rooms wouldnt be close together, that the restaurant was shut and there were no other food options nearby. The options were 1 room at the end of the garden by the swimming pool, and the other on the 4th floor. I suggested the couple stay out at the end of the garden and i take the 4th floor so as not to feel isolated in a location i didnt know. I asked to be shown up the stairs, and was taken by one of the students 2 floors up and then l pointed the rest of the way. The lights turned off as i walked and i had to use my iphone to find my way. My room was in what can only be described as an attic, 4 full flights of stairs up from reception and down 2 corridors, and i was left to find my own way and carry my own luggage at 11pm at night. My room was adjoined to another with a lockable door, which guests came back late at night making a lot of noise. The towels were stained, the water in the shower barely ran even though i tried all the settings. There was building work going on at the back of the hotel that went on all night with trucks and diggers reversing and flashing lights. When we complained to the hotel the next day we were told with no shock by the reception staff that it was a chinese building site and it had been going on for a while. The room as charged at $27 per night which excluded breakfast, which i feel is massively overpriced for the experience we had.
Nice clean rooms with good a.c. and satellite tv. swimming pool good and the gym is dated but lots of equipment that works. Staff are heelpfull but as it's a college trying only a couple speak English. Food is ok but diddnt have the chicken or large beer the night we ordered. Only down side is it is like sleeping in a dorm as banging doors and noisy neighbours but to be fair it was the Chinese 🙄again... overall good clean hotel.perfrct or overnight stay as not much to do outside hotel walls as surrounded by building site.. Chinese again.
The room they made look pretty as it was our honeymoon but the rest of the place is very basic, communication was very hard as they didn’t understand. Swimming pool full of bugs and not cleaned regularly by the looks of it. Bed was comfy pillows were very hard, bathroom was mouldy. Restaurant looked to be good and fairly priced but hardly had anything available to actually order and as there’s no shops around you were very limited. The entrance to this place looks as if it was abandoned but their profits go to the school there which is good I guess. The area itself is awful. The whole town is a building site so unless this is what you’re after then that’s great!
Die Lage war sehr schlecht. Kein Taxi fährt vor die Lobby. Man muss recht weit laufen.
The hotel looks more like a school hostel or a youth hostel than a hotel. Absolute no ambiance. The hotel is between "nowhere and somewhere". Even the tuk-tuk drivers don't want to take you to the hotel due to the fact that the town is nothing more nothing less than a construction site. Avoid the city altogether.
Sihanoukville itself is probably the worst city we’ve ever stayed in - filthy, smelly, dusty and so much construction going on with impossible roads and traffic. The hotel appeared to be in the middle of nowhere, at the back of the school. Rooms were large and reasonable. Even a shower door and hand towels! From my understanding the students are learning hospitality, but there didn’t appear to be much instruction. Checkin was slow, meals were tasty but slow. We ordered breakfast the previous evening, but our fellow travelers ordered in the morning and got their breakfast before ours. When our order did arrive it was incorrect. Surely these poor students can have some more encouragement and up front training. The pool was clean but too warm to enjoy. No towels were provided although there were shade umbrellas provided. A good concept but it needs work.
This ,,hotel,, is situated in location where is nothing, accept building machines and dust, there are no shops, no ATM, no bars and restaurants. In hotel restaurant every time we were waiting aprx. 1 hour for food. In 3 days we ordered the same dish, but every time it had different taste. Once we ordered also tofu curry but it comes without tofu. Students were really nice-personally, but their managment really doesn't know how to manage hotel and lead this nice students. If you have any experiences in traveling and eating in restaurants definitely we DON'T RECOMMEND this hotel. There is nobody to lead the students and to show them the right way of service and cooking the food. During our first 2 days managment cares only about the sponsors which were here. After that there was nobody to care about the guests which are paying for accomodation.
I only stayed here for 2 nights, a night either side of getting the ferry over to Koh Rong. The staff are amazing! So polite, hardworking and friendly. Have gone above and beyond standard hospitality- cannot do enough for you. They let me keep my rucksack in a baggage room for 3 nights whilst I was in Koh Rong, arranges trabsportation to the airport for me. Lovely! If you have to be based in Sihanoukville before going onto Koh Rong or doing a tour then this hotel is great- nice to have somewhere locally run in the area! X
The hotel is pleasant and rooms are standard. We did have a few issues, shower head didn't stay up and the water cut for a whole night. Friends of ours stayed in D block and had no water pressure from the taps and no hot water. The staff were super friendly and breakfast was tasty however you could only pick from a couple of options. Overall not a bad stay but would have been nice for a better shower and water throughout our stay. Gym is basic and old but we made it work.
It is a teaching hotel and the students were left without supervision, they did not have the knowledge required to resolve problems. To have a menu with only 50% of the items avalible, it was like hit and miss when ordering. Supervision would solve this problem
Rooms are basic but have everything you could need and are very large. Staff is students who are learning english and hotel jobs to improve their lives. The food at the restaurant was wonderful and reasonable. The staff is delightful and very helpful. The pool area is always clean and a welcome refreshing and relaxing time. Not very close to Sihanoukville but there was a free transport to town and back and coming back out wasn't but maybe $5usd so very nice.
Terrible experience AC, refrigerator, WiFi, and shower were not working 8 days of asking incompetent staff to fix AC, refrigerator, WiFi and shower with no resolutions Very Shameful !!!!
Our stay was only 2 nights but we loved every minute. We were a group of 6 and were all very pleased. The staff are very conscientious and kind. The rooms were comfortable and the food excellent. Although the roads in the area are a bit rough driving in, it is the only complaint. I highly recommend Don Bosco Hotel School!
The Service was outstanding.... as there are more students waiting on you than there are reasons of need; Big Smile. I would recommend a stay here ONLY if you are looking for a Retreat environment ... of which, it is a good choice. Otherwise, if visiting for sightseeing or the beaches, avoid this facility as it is too isolated and your transportation expense much too high and limited.
