Loved that it was right on the beach. The room had a very homely atmosphere. Kitchenette was very convenient to allow for meal prep. Staff was very attentive
What’s not to love 😅 Only challenge I had was that nearby restaurant options were limited; but we ended up using AllMart app to have food delivered at some points so we were able to find a work around

Lovely boutique hotel resort, located right on the beautiful white sandy beach. Very clean, Modern and well maintained property. We had a large 1 bedroom apartment, very comfortable and spacious, with good self catering facilities provided. Good access to local takeaways who will deliver on order for a small fee. Cable TV in both rooms Staff generally helpful and on hand to assist.
Bit of a distance to the supermarket, small shop near the property quite limited and expensive.
I had a truly relaxing and comfortable stay here; the apartment is really clean, secure and modern. As is the complex which is on one of the prettiest beaches in Antigua - white powdery sand and turquoise waters. The complex is pretty small so even if youre furthest away from the beach, its less than a minute walk to the beach and theres a direct gate to the beach. Plenty of beach loungers, it was about 20% full when I was there, and you can see nice local life. No reserving loungers behaviours as plenty to go around. I suspect things look pretty crowded on the beach when its a cruise ship day so just watch out for that. The apartment has all the amenities youd need inc an iron, fruit bowl and bug spray. House keeping is every other day but its thorough. They provide tea and coffee to get you going and then you can get your own. Theres a big supermarket 10 min drive away and a small one a short walk away. Note not many eateries in walking distance. The grounds staff are amazing and so hard working, Amos and Oscar genuinely made me feel at home and were the picture of top class Antiguan hospitality. Would go again in a heartbeat.
Nothing, it was all good.
i loved it! the staff was so kind(Oscar in particular is so kind and hard working!) the place is well look after and the beach is just fantastic

Amazing location with beachfront access
shower/bathrooms need a bit of TLC
beach was great food was great overall place was nice bread pudding i ate every day loved it
my kitchen had alot of ants i cannot leave any food outside or snacks ants just keep coming and that was really annoying and i had to throw away food and sanck because of that.
I love the quiet intimacy of rooms and the front desk girls were superb
Not many places to eat walkable a pit too pricey saltypalagr not many places to choose from plus NO FRUIT FOR BREAKFAST for ppl who don't want a big breakfast
Location
Was not able to check into room until an hour after advertised time.
Fantastic apartments right on an idyllic Caribbean beach. Bar and restaurant next door with a couple of other restaurants close by. The Tiki bar in the sea is great fun. The staff were all very helpful, especially the man who turned up with every spanner under the sun to help fix my broken down rental car !!!
We were only there for one night so we were not able to take advantage of the well equipped kitchen. The staff was amazing, especially Stanley and the other gentleman (sorry do not get his name). The girls were so kind as well, both the front desk and the cleaning staff.
Great place right on the beach. Beach is clear blue waters reserved chairs for those staying there. Staff is amazing.
Nothing really.
Grounds are well kept, villa was very clean and proximity to beach and restaurant was amazing.
Nothing comes to mind, great stay
The property was clean, well equipped and well maintained. The little beach was lovely with enough sun beds for everyone. There are only 4 restaurants in walking distance (one was around d 18 mins up the hill on the main road) and one bar that closes at 7pm. The Bucaneer shop is not very well stocked and the nearest supermarket is a drive away.
The pool was cleaned daily but could do with a midday skim as there’s a lot of tree debris that falls in. The beach is a thoroughfare for cruisers that have been dropped off for the day to get to the public beach
Clean and well located

Amazing location. Very comfortable bed. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.

This last visit was possibly the 15th time that we have stayed at Buccaneers. It is our "go-to" resort in Antigua. The staff at reception, the cleaners and especially Stanley and Oscar provide a personal touch and always make us feel so welcome. The beach is superb and so well maintained, we have no complaints whatsoever and are looking forward already to our next visit!!
Very friendly and helpful staff, close to the beach and a couple of restaurants
No public transport into town (and taxis were expensive) so we hired bikes so we could explore the island and visit the supermarket.
The hotel was right on the beach. The apartment was very big and I liked the balcony. Everything go was spotless and the grounds were well kept.
Nothing
Amazing boutique with a very friendly staffs and a step away from a quiet and kids friendly beach
The grounds and vicinity to the beach and two restaurants near by. Ideal if u don’t have a car.
Window screens would be nice since we had to get up and kill few mosquitoes.
Clean rooms well kept grounds and only 50 yards from a busy beach (not that you'd know it as it was so quiet) Near to both St John's and the airport (a short taxi ride to both) and reasonably priced. Places to eat within short walking distance and a great place in the evening to watch the sunset.i had a very relaxing stay
Some really minor gripes that did nothing to take away my enjoyment. My controls for the AC stopped working a couple of times. Also please keep the drinks and snacks topped in Reception. Its a good service but only if there's product to buy (As I said minor)
Big apartment, comfortable bed, great shower, all very clean. Lovely gardens and pool. Right on a lovely beach, with sunbeds purely for guests. Would stay again.
Difficult to get anywhere without a car, so limited choice of places to eat, though Starfish Bar and Saltplage Restaurant right next door were both very good. Minimart just round corner very limited.
Nice apartment with balcony and kitchen equipment. Beach is few steps away with beds for guests available all time. Taxi is nearby when needed.
Mosquitos…
20 minutes from the airport, very obliging staff at the resort, apart was huge, open plan kitchen/ living room, good sized bathroom, large bedroom and a very comfortable bed, everything was very clean. 1 minute walk to the resort’s beach, westward facing for brilliant sunsets. Restaurants within 2-3 minutes walk of resort, all of this situated in the St John’s area of Antigua alongside Sandals beach resort - no need to look elsewhere.
Everything was fine.
Enjoyed my weekend stay at Buccaneer Beach Club. All the employees were welcoming and helpful. Check in was easy and the property is perfect. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The swimming pool is just steps away and the beach just beyond that. A grocery store is a short walk down the road. Taxis were always available out front. Quiet at night and relaxing during the day. Would stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Buccaneer Beach Club. It's a nice little boutique hotel with all of the amenities we wanted or needed without the crowds. It was nice having a kitchenette, while still being close to several restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a very nice stay.
Great access to the beach and spacious well equipped room.
Comfy rooms for long stays and on a beautiful part of the beach.
The beach was right there, the room was nice and I really love Salt Plage next door.
i liked the beach view. no kitchen or restaurant at the property
.
There isn't a restaurant on the grounds, and the restaurant next door wasn't that great.
There wasn't a restaurant on the grounds
We like everything about this property, the staff was very friendly, Stanley had a smile on his face all the time always happy to help, Shakira at the front desk was very friendly too and the other ladies as well. The quietness, the beach on the back, less than 15mn from the airport...i will definitely stay here again...
Quiet and relaxing. Stanley is the best. Facility needs to update their furniture selection
The location is close to the beach..
The property was in a great location and on one of the most beautiful beach. The bed is very uncomfortable and needs to be replaced. I don't understand why the room is not being service daily, but using the pandemic for the reason makes no sense.
Got a free upgrade to a Cottage Room.
Really nice and calm place. Enjoyed it. Perfect for my family to chill out. Cottage was great. Well kitted out. AC in lounge was out for a bit but they got it fixed. Very nice staff. Best little corner of the beach. Dickenson bay is good.
Quiet, peaceful, cheerful. Need a car to get around.
Resort was quiet and peaceful. Facilities were good, pool was clean and good size. Lots of shade around the pool area. Our room was very well located and close to the beach. Beach was lovely, plenty of sunbeds available. There was a swim up bar in the sea near the resort which was fun. The resort felt very secure. Staff very friendly.
The pull out sofabed was a bit uncomfortable.
Perfect for work trips. Perfect location. Accessible to a beautiful beach.
Location is great, staff are wonderful, bed was so comfy, room and bathroom was spacious. Also, the floating tiki bar Kon Tiki is right in front of the property, although not affiliated with the hotel and only takes cash, but a great time!
It would have been nice to have free bottled water in the room or water refill station since the tap water isn't safe to drink. Having to buy large amounts of water to keep hydrated was a frustration.
Very clean, best Location on the best beach. Great staff. We saw the other spots on the same strip and this was the most modern, clean, young, and happening hotel. Would definitely come back here next time.
No screen meshing on the windows, so if you want fresh air, you get bugs. Other rooms had, ours didn't. Tiny window and no fan in the washroom.
Room is nice with a small kitchen and living room. Very comfortable and direct access right to a beautiful beach. No restaurant on property but doesn't matter as it less than 30 seconds away the once you step on the beach that the hotel next door has a restaurant and bar. There are several on the beach. Staff is really friendly place is clean. My only complaint is no coffee maker in the room.
We stayed for a little over a week. The rooms are fine for the price you're paying (this property is a lot cheaper then the neighboring ones) nothing fancy but spacious enough with a balcony. The beach is near feet away and the staff is incredibly friendly and I can't rave enough about them. We did have some issues with the bathroom when we arrived with the shower/toilet which was unfortunate. The walls are incredibly thin so if you are a light sleeper I wouldn't recommend, but overall it's a very peaceful area so no issues there. There's just a touch of disappointment overall in just tiny details that add up, but I suppose that's on us since it is a 3-star property. I will say that there are no good restaurants in the area. We struggled to find a decent meal and the prices are astronomical, but that's not the fault of the property just something to keep in mind as you visit the area. I recommend driving over to the market to load up on some basics because if you're counting on the restaurants you will be greatly disappointed. All in all a very fun trip (the beach really is beautiful and very serene) but I would not come back.
Great location, wonderful helpful staff, lovely comfortable bed.
Nothing
I love the property but my booking was cancelled they was full
When it’s safe and the staff are accommodating
We absolutely adore Buccaneer and come back every year. This adorable boutique hotel is perfect for those who don’t need an all inclusive experience. The rooms are so spacious and lovely, the staff is exceptional and the beach is one of the best on the island. There’s a small restaurant next to it that you can get drinks and sit on their beach chairs. It’s private and it’s special. A little respite. We always got the beginning of June so it’s off season. A perfect little vacation without the crowds. Cannot recommend it enough!
Absolutely fabulous place that exceeded my expectations! Apartment was great size ,lovely and clean. Pool was great and warm surrounded by trees. Staff cleaning around the property all the time. Rooms were cleaned every 2 days. Awesome beach just steps away with sun loungers kept for the guests only. We really enjoyed our stay here.
This was our second time at the Buccaneer. We love the rooms, they are super big and comfortable. They installed windows, which we were thrilled about, as they only had shutters. The grounds are perfect with beautiful flowers all around. And it’s on the beach. However, I’m not sure if we’ll be staying here again. Unfortunately, and not Buccaneers fault, but next door hotel had a sewer leak. As you can imagine, it smelled really bad. We couldn’t be outside our room. We really enjoy sitting on the balcony at nights and we weren’t able to. The smell got worse after night 2 or 3. I called to see if they were doing anything about it. The receptionist’s first response was “what smell?” Any human would gag outside so this was just plain dumb. They offered to move us to another room, not much away from the sewer leak. I didn’t want to pack and unpack at this point especially since we might still be smelling it. I understand it wasn’t on their property. But this is unacceptable. Please call and make sure the sewer issue is fixed before going there. I wish they told us about it when we arrived and gave us a room much further away from the sewer leak. We did ask for that specific room but would’ve moved. Most of the hotel was empty, it wasn’t a big lift. They should’ve tried to look out for the 2-3 couples there. Instead of putting everyone next to the sewer. Especially repeat customers. I’m currently looking at other properties for our next visit.
The appartment was great, all the facilities you could possibly want and really comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Access is directly onto the beautiful beach with sunbeds for guests provided.
Can not think of anything.
We stayed 3 nights in Cottage 1, an upgrade, because no Pool View villas were available. The cottage was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. It had its own washer, dryer, and a BBQ on the spacious private terrace. The staff were friendly and professional, and they always offered their assistance if they saw you were in need of any help. The small beach area was a couple of steps away from the door of the cottage, with beach chairs and umbrellas available for the use of guests.
Nothing.
The Hotel has no on site dining but there is restaurants on the beach front - hours not always convenient
One night of noisy neighbours - locals in for a holiday weekend
This was a small, intimate property located on a beautiful beach. The rooms and grounds were well maintained. The staff was friendly and accommodating, nothing seemed too much. I would definitely recommend this place.
I stayed here for 5 nights in January 2025 as part of a wider trip around the Caribbean. The apartments themselves are very comfortable & spacious. An open plan lounge & kitchen with a terrace and a separate bedroom. The terrace overlooked the pool area which was lovely - a pleasure both to sunbathe beside & swim in. The property sits right on the beach and has a number of sun beds which you can use free of charge. That’s a really nice touch and definitely a key advantage of staying here. The area is a little short of good restaurants but I managed to find enough to eat reasonably well every night. The hotel sorted my car hire which was helpful and it allowed me to explore the superb beaches on the west cost of Antigua. I found the grounds staff very friendly but a couple of the girls behind reception were quite miserable. If the reception staff were more friendly, this would have scored a 5.
Nice property with the beach steps away
Room size mostly peaceful and tide and private beach
there are no food facilities at he hotel only on the beach close by but you do have a kitchenette in the room which works well
Very large and spacious cottages, they actually upgraded us for free so we got a pool view. The kitchen was well equipped and the terrace was amazing for drying our clothes. There are multiple closets, the shower is HUGE, and the bed is extremely comfortable. We took so many naps on it. We were extremely pleased and pleasantly surprised by the size of the cottage. Also very clean. Absolutely no complaints there. The employees were all very nice and helpful. It was easy asking questions and getting help. The pool was nice, they clean in the morning but by afternoon, it had leaves in it, but we didn't care. The hotel is beachfront so you walk through a gate and there's the beach! There's a shared small beach with the next door hotel but Buccaneer had its own dedicated chairs. We never had to fight for chairs, which was great. Although the beach area for Bucaneer is small, the actual beach is a long one and you can walk all the way down both ways. There's conveniently located restaurants nearby but they are pricey. Overall, we really loved this place and would definitely come back!
Beachfront and clean rooms
Unfriendly persons in reception however the rest of the personnel was very friendly.
Been here several times . Property has been upgraded with sound proof windows , new paint. Unfortunately, it was Easter week with scores of screaming kids in the pool and on the beach.
Convenient location by the beach Dickenson Bay.
Hotel’s own beach area wasn’t particularly well maintained. Room charges excessive (e.g lose keycard = 25 USD)
Rooms are nothing fancy, but nice enough. The plus is that it’s steps away from the beach!
Honestly one of the best decisions we made during this trip was to book with Buccaneer. The location is amazing with back of property opening onto pristine white beaches. Reception staff were great, as were the cleaning team and massive shout out to Stanley who does the deck chairs and goes above and beyond.
No issues really
Close to the airport, hotel is clean, staff is friendly. It’s not an easy walk to get to a grocery store and other dining options. Stores and restaurants require a cab. Even thought it’s a 5-10 min drive, it can be $20-30 USD. Despite this, it’s worth a stay on a private beach.
Very nice quiet place on a safe beach. Nice pool. Hotel Wi-Fi worked at the beach, nice.
Well set out, easily accessible , clean, great location had everything you needed nearby.
The mattress in room 14 could be replaced it dipped in the middle my only other comment would be to provide a swiffer/large broom in the apartment for the days you don’t get housekeeping to keep the sand at bay!
Our second stay at these lovely apartments. Again a faultless time. The pool area and gardens are immaculately maintained and it is steps to the beautiful beach. The apartments are spotlessly clean with everything you require. The bed is comfortably. The staff could not be more helpful and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. We will return.
Buccaneer is a great boutique holiday rental. It's a mix between a hotel and apartment rental. They don't have a restaurant, but the one-bed apartments are way bigger than the usual hotel room, plus you get a patio and a fully functional kitchen, so you can prepare your own meals. There are anyway restaurants and beach bars just few steps away on the beach. It's not on the cheap-side, but you get what you pay for - nice and comfortable apartments, a very nice garden which is well taken care of, 24/7 security, reception desk, housekeeping (once every two days, which is enough), direct access to the beach and plenty of sunbeds (at any time of the day there were at least several sunbeds available), very nice pool, good AC units, etc. We spent our entire Antigua holiday here (9 days), and we are very happy with the choice. The staff is friendly and always there to assist. The beach in front of the property is very nice, way better than the one in front of Antigua Village, and it feels more "private". The buildings and furnishings are well done and everything seems quite new, with few exceptions (usually in the Caribbean you often get that "ran-down" feeling), so that's a big plus.
There aren't many things to dislike, very few actually: - bedroom didn't have mosquito nets, so we couldn't open the bedroom windows (all other rooms had very good quality mosquito nets). It's a pity as with windows open you didn't need AC - so we had to use it in the bedroom - when we first came in there were several mosquitoes in the rooms/bathroom, and they are fisty - they weren't bothered much by the spray, had to catch them all - once caught we didn't get new ones though - and anyway, mosquitoes are all over the island, so it's not a problem specifically of this location. We also tried mosquito electric repellents bought from Antigua and it had no effect, I saw mosquitoes flying around them - if you don't like crowds the beach is not great as it's the primary destination for cruise-ship tourists (so it's quite busy between 10AM-4PM) - but we never saw them staying on the beach in front, they just move around. The sunbeds are for hotel guests only. We preferred driving to other more secluded beaches during day time, and only spend time here in the early mornings and afternoons - in the apartment there are stains on the walls/ceilings from the occasional smashed mosquitoes - I think the hotel should do more to clean them up, and perhaps provide electric rackets so the tourists stop smashing them on the walls using their shoes
Beautiful grounds, friendly accommodating staff, no seaweed on beach, very beautiful clean beach, clean room, comfortable bed
We stayed at the Buccaneer for one night before our flight home to Canada. We mistakenly booked the twin room (2 twin beds and a pull out couch). The twins bed were great for our 2 kids (aged 3 and 7) but the pull out couch was terribly uncomfortable for my husband and I.
Great location, lovely vibe for the place.
Process for moving room could have been better.
The cottage was well equipped and right off the beach. Friendly staff. We would definitely stay there again. It was perfect and beautiful
BBC is in a nice spot on a good beach with lots going on. Restaurants, BBQs, good swimming right from the door. The hotel is private and set around a nice pool, we actually used this more than the beach because it was so nice and private. The units are well equipped and recently renovated. Nothing super fancy and ours could do with a new mattress but otherwise very comfortable and quiet for a family stay. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. We were very happy to base ourselves here and explore Antigua, and the price was right for the accommodation.
Lovely location
Nothing
Great location right on the beach. Grounds are well kept, the hotel is actually better in person than in pictures. Large bathroom. AC working in both rooms (bedroom and living room). Very good wifi.
Price was quite high, but comparable to others in the area of the same level. Had to pay a refundable deposit for beach towels. Not daily cleaning (every other day).
Great location on the beach close to many restaurants! Bed was comfy.
We liked everything but it was just a basic room- not very nice to chill in but good for what we wanted.
