We stayed here for about 2 weeks while our sailboat was being repaired, and greatly enjoyed our stay! It is clean, comfortable and with gracious hosts. They were very accommodating, arranging rides and water taxis, giving us restaurant recommendations and provided everything we needed. The apartment has a kitchen with a big toaster oven, microwave, cooktop, refrigerator and sink, so we had many of our meals there. We also had a pool steps away from our door, which we took advantage of frequently. This place is a great value for the rate and is located near Rodney Bay Marina. We were able to walk almost everywhere we needed to go. We highly recommend it!
Upon check in we were shown a basement room which was not what we booked (terrible )we booked cleopatra villas the Harbour and we got this ,there was hardly any service and we had a construction sight outside our door at 8 veery day (not happy) the noise from the ajoining room was bad ,over all not a good stay ..what wean wrong with the booking ????
We actually stayed in The Harbour as work was being done at Cleopatra Villas. Our stay was fantastic, apartment was very clean light and bright, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed it and would stay again
This is ideal for a large group wanting to stay together! We were in St Lucia for my daughters wedding and we all wanted to stay together! Robert, the owner, was very good to deal with and kept in communication with me regarding our stay and what we needed. The villa is set quite high up so the views are lovely but the hill is quite a climb- we had elderly parents with us and it was really too much of a difficult walk!! The aircon in one of the rooms didn’t work for the duration of the holiday- several engineers came out but it wasn’t sorted by the end of our stay- my daughter staying in that room found it unbearable in the extreme heat!! The maid is amazing- really friendly and thorough every day, beds made, clean towels and cleaned throughout!
Pas de ponton Maison isolée Problème de climatisation
Great location and close to amenities. Owner and staff are excellent and accommodating. The room I received however, did leave a little to be desired and needed upgrading.
My stay was incredible. The location is perfect the room was excellent and the service was wonderful.
A really beautiful and spacious place! The manager is extremely friendly and even checked on us in the morning after knowing that we had gone out partying for the night! I highly recommend this property!
We required emergency accommodation for our family on Christnas day and Robert (host) went above and beyond to assist us. We called from one of their sea view villas on the hill but Robert redirected us to The Harbour villas, literally on the marina in Gros Ilet as a better option with young children. The villa was ground floor, spacious, clean and safe. The Harbour had security from 6pm to 6am every day and is well secured with fob access to large automated gates. Our villa also had a fully fitted kitchen, washing machine & dryer and state of the art air conditioning to keep us cool. The large terrace over looked the harbour/marina. Oh and can’t forget WiFi and Netflix on demand! Location couldn’t have been better, the complex backs onto the High Street in Rodney Bay, with many restaurants, cafes, shops and supermarkets on your door step. The beach was only a 5minute walk from the high street. Robert and his wife were very helpful, being just a few doors down in the same complex, they introduced us to their daughter who was the same age as our daughter. The girls played in the beautiful pool and came over to our villa to play some more. They gave us directions when needed and we’re simply great company. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts and making our Christmas holiday!
A beautiful villa got spoilt by the construction of a monstroxity of a hotel directly in front of it. It is a real shame that there is nothing that can be done about this travesty. I can just imagine how the proprietor feels about hte situation.
Convenient location with a 5-minute walk to restaurants, groceries, shops, public transit yet still away from the hustle and bustle of the town. 15-minute walk to Reduit Beach or the marina. Easy access to taxis 5 mins away. Well-appointed kitchen. Shelley, the on-location housekeeper, was excellent providing service Mon, Tue, Thu, and Fri. Robert, the owner, was easily accessible and quick to address any deficiencies. Pool is small but very nice. There are a few neighbourhood dogs that were occasionally noisy. Also, this area is very quiet at night so though walking around is perfectly safe during the daytime I would advise you use a car/taxi after dark.
My spouse and daughter (adult) stayed at the Cleopatra Villa (The Harbour) from December 9 to 26, 2017. The location is convenient to grocery stores, shopping, restaurants, bars and a short walk to Reduit Beach. We stayed in Unit 21 which is a stand alone Villa. We had the harbour steps away from the Villa so had great views of the sailboats, fish activity, nice breeze and beautiful evenings on the terrace. For the most part the Villa was good, but could use some upgrades, as well as ensuring burned out lights, the dishwasher and dryer were working prior to arrival. There is security at the Villa and the grounds were well maintained. The drive from the airport is anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 hrs depending on the time of day and traffic. Upon arrival Robert greeted us at the Villa and provided us with information on the condo, and area. We had rented a vehicle and it was dropped off the next day. We used the vehicle to tour around to Pigeon Island, Castries , Marigot Bay, Soufriere, Naked Fisherman and various other places. We booked a 9 am to 5 pm tour to go to Marigot Bay, Soufriere, tour to Volcano, Botanical gardens and waterfall through Robert. Our tour guide and driver was Andrew who was entertaining, friendly and provided lots of information about our tour and as well as information about the Island as he has been living on St. Lucia for sometime. We stopped at Hummingbird Resort and took a stroll to the beach. There is a Batik studio at the resort and we managed to purchase two Batik wall hangings. Our tour guide also took us to Rabot Estate Cacao, where we purchased Chocolates and great view of the Pitons. We arrived back at the Villa around 5 pm . At Marigot Bay there is a restaurant across the water that you can take a water taxi (no charge) if you wish to dine at Doolittles. We also went to Pigeon Island so I would recommend a visit and stop by for refreshments and food at Jambe du Bois, good food, vegetarian options. While in Rodney Bay, I checked out Feng Shui Spa, a short walk from our Villa. I visited the Spa on three occasions and had amazing massages from Niola. Prices were also very good in comparison to what I would pay in Canada for similar services. Reduit beach is within walking distance from our Villa, so its worth a visit. We had lunch at Spinnakers, which was okay. If anyone is looking for natural facial and body products, there is a store in the Mall at Rodney Bay called Caribbean Blue. These products are made in St Lucia and are quite nice, worth a visit. Big Chef restaurant and the Tapas are next door to the Villa, also good restaurants. We were disappointed at the Cap Maison restaurant, expensive, poor service and food not worth the price. Friday nights at Gros Islet, there is a street party, with entertainment, drinks, and food. We took the bus down to the event and a taxi back to the Villa. We enjoyed our visit to St. Lucia, our experiences, meeting friendly locals and relaxing evenings on the terrace at the Villa.
Hello to all my followers sorry for being so long on doing a review had a very up and down year but I am here now .well we took the advice of my son and had a villa for two weeks in our wonderful second home St Lucia as the Rex is closed .well we give the villa 10 it's excellent the description on booking .com is perfect .it was for six people and we were four it's like something out of a movie and the manager Robert Joseph is more than helpful. The security guard Phillip makes you feel at home and safe we got to know him well and was very helpful. Kerstaine there cleaner came in twice a week and was very througher and friendly it really felt like home .we had a supermarket about 3 minutes away staff very helpful and friendly .The dipping pool had a bubble affect the lounge was long dining room perfect and the kitchen .There was a wash room down stairs and off back door a Landry room and a porch to sit out back perfect .two bedrooms up a winding staircase with own on suites and a balcony on each .we had the white room with a four poster bed on our balcony was an hammock glass table and two chairs our friends was a beautiful big double bed and balcony had table chairs everything perfect .As my Grandaughter said when we sent pictures home nanna is in Cinderella place .I would advise you all to give it a try it's cheaper with 6 of you and even though you buy your own food it's still cheaper than hotels it cost us just over 525 pound each brilliant .It's 15mins to walk to beach but you can do it in a taxi if you want .we done lots of things and I will review them seperate .we would go back there next year but it will be too big for two of us .
Great Villa/Apartments and assisted professionally by Robert. A short walk away from the main strip, which I found was perfect and quiet. The pool was clean and nice and the apartment was sufficient. Had all the facilities to cook if you wish and the cleanliness was kept to a high standard. Wifi can be a bit intermittent. Shirley the housekeeper was very responsive and efficient to any of our requests. If you have a vechicl, you have a security gate, remote access and parking area if required.
Lovely place, great view and a lovely set of one, two or three bed apartments. A little tired but great a/c throughout- one bedroom a/c was playing up but Robert sorted it out within 24 hours - the pool is fantastic as is the BBQ and with a quite dated yet well supplied kitchen, it is a lovely location, view and accommodation. The only complaint is no a/c in the lounge or kitchen but we were out a lot of the time so not too concerning. It's north facing so sun early morning and late afternoon so you are not burned to a crisp during the daytime hours. About 2 hours from the airport and a traffic accident queue delayed us but these things happen. Overall a great self catering base to explore Rodney Bay from with beach, shops and restaurants all within 15 minutes walk. Loved it and. It a rating of five only because of the tired kitchen and appliances.
The rooms were fine the air conditioning was excellent although there was no air conditioning in the living room. Description given on website was misleading as the owner has two properties with similar sounding names the web page gave the description of the property nearer to the amenities based on this we chose not to get a car. The 10 minute walk to the shops felt like 45 minutes in the heat with dogs chasing us down the road. The washing machine was locked up and could only be accessed when the cleaner was there this was always during the day when we had plans to go out so we came home with a lot of washing. The sofa was in a poor condition. Charge of $15 for a broken glass. No warning that there was a dip in the pool.
Checking in to the 2-storey self catering apartment was easy. The airport taxi was arrnaged through the accommodation and the manager provided key fobs for the electronic gates and explained all the facilities within the property. We were able to arrange tours and water taxis through the management easily. The apartment was cleaned twice a week but perhaps the days needed to be longer apart to change sheets, towels etc. The place was very clean with its own small garden, barbecue, washing line. There was a small laundry, which we made good use of to wash clothing. The place is bright and spacious and housed 4 of us comfortably. Despite being in the heart of the Rodney Bay strip the Harbour compound was quiet and secure with very little noise, a definite plus. All the comfort of home!
Great place to stay for families, spacy appartment, well equiped, nice terrace with bay view. Close to shopping mall and near enough the beaches ( 10 min walk) Clean home and very helpfull cleaning lady.
We visited The Harbour at Rodney Bay with our 8 month old son. Our hosts were so extremely helpful throughout our time. The villa was clean and any issues were sorted within hours. Its the perfect spot to relax and be by the action. If we ever visited the island again we would definitely stay at The Harbour. Thank you
We stayed in Villa Cleopatra in Rodney Highs for a week and loved it! It's very close (10 minutes walk) to all the restaurants, bars and shops in Rodney Bay, while at the same time giving you a lovely view down to the sea and to the marina! There's staff on site during the day and also the manager is really nice and accommodating and arranged transport for us to and from the airport/harbor. The kitchen is well equipped and everything seems fresh and new. Bed was brilliant as well. Washing machine on site for laudry. Local buses run from the road a few minutes walk from the villa, which will take you anywhere on the island. Supermarket and pharmacy is really close by as well, about 5 minutes walk.
the furniture was older but it was in a good area. overall good experience
Gated, clean, spacious, great view. Managers are working out some bugs. A/c in one room needed fixing, safe malfunctioned. Nothing crazy and they were always there to help when called upon. Not far from beach, shopping and the famous Antillia Brewery which we made our second home.
This accommodation is spacious, clean with beautiful reviews of the Rodney Bay Marina. Having been to St Kycia staying with friends and in hotels this is the best accommodation I have had. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. We were within walking distance of two shopping centres and supermarkets so did our own cooking most of the time. If we owned a yacht then it would have been perfect! We just missed the beach party so good to check in advance what events are on. Low season is in July and August so beaches are near and fairly quiet. Highly recommended.
Hotel privilégie en terme d'emplacement très bien entretenu
The harbour villa is sooo beautiful and the sea front view is too die for...however the staff let it down for me and my family. The house keeper would always let herself in without knocking first and would spend hours in our apartment for us to come back to still see her there and hardly anything has been cleaned. Also she would always be on her phone At first we didn't pay no mind to it but then the last few days we wanted some family time without her hovering around our apartment so we kindly asked when will she be leaving, from asking that one simple question she decided to be rude and disrespectful towards us and started swearing at us in front of children...I called up the manager immediately and told him the situation but nothing was done about it no apology no nothing and I felt like the manager was taking his staff side after we had explained what had happened...I'm really upset with this because this had ruined mine and my family experience just because we had asked for some family time.
Great place to stay! Wonderful management! Close to everything! Beautiful view! Air conditioning not very strong but the villa opens up with plenty windows for the natural breeze which is always blowing.
The staff were poilet always. The maintenance of the villa was excellent. customer service 100%. The hotel is walking distance from the beach. I felt safe staying there with my family. I recommend staying there for your holiday. I will be returning there next year.
Unit 14A is just as I titled it. Its location on the ground floor made it so you had to keep all windows closed for safety reasons, not to mention the mosquitos. The lack of privacy was unbelievable, the cleaning woman (Jennifer) would enter our room at any time that she needed to and that was just the times we caught her, another instance was after she finished cleaning she left out the front door, only to come in through an open bedroom window because she forgot something, but in that time I was standing in the bedroom half clothed. Lastly, the renter does not seem to understand that when he hands the keys over to a paying customer, that is our home for the 2 weeks!! Do not leave anything out of any value, you never know when someone will be entering.
We absolutley loved our stay @ The Harbour and will most definitley return, from the check in to the check out it was awesome! The suite itself was well appointed and had everything we needed. The location is 2nd to none with restaurants, bars, shopping all within a 2 minute walk, the beach is a 7 minutes walk away!! I can't say enough about The Harbour, we will not stay anywhere else when we return to St Lucia. I gave it a 4 rating on comfort and condition because of the lower level A/C not working very well but aside from that it was fantastic!
I had a great time in St. Lucia. The property manager and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The location was great..just a 10 minute walk to the beach..steps from restaurants, shopping and grocery. My only issue is if you decide to stay at The Harbour do NOT stay in unit #10.. The property is DATED and not kept in good condition at all. There were 19 light bulbs out, the unit had a musty stench, there were rusty and broken patio furniture, rusty and mismatched metal/plastic hangers, not enough bath towels, no pool towels, dated and mismatched furniture, no accessibility to AC unit on the 1st level, NO INTERNET/CABLE, Beds were missing proper comforters, rusty toaster, FOR RENT sign on the window. The property was not warm or well lit. In fact it was baron, it felt like the owners just moved out and put all their second hand furniture in this unit. I will say that once my concerns were addressed to the property manager he tried his best to fix as much as possible within the first three days but was limited to the owners control & discretion. However, this unit was simply not rental ready and should not have been rented. I would recommend The Harbour just don't stay in unit #10...in fact my girlfriend stayed in unit #16 and it was simply FABULOUS!! They had a different management company however which was Tropical Villas.
The apartment was close to the mall and shops, but was a bit of a walk to the beach. Water taxi to pigon island was nice but he forgot to pick us up! No worries, there's other taxis. Apartment was clean but only one small tv. I would stay there again without question. I like the location, nice and quiet.
I stayed in the Harbour, apartment 12, with my family, two adults and two kids, for 9 days at the end of December 2014. I found this place on the web, it had only one enthusiastic review, but no one seemed to know it in other websites. We decided to take a chance and it was a wonderful surprise. The place was way better than expected. We booked a two bedroom apartment, we were given a bigger one because it was the only available. The apartment in which we stayed was huge and beautiful, and from what I’ve understood all the apartments are similar. The kitchen was fully furnished and very efficient, I could wash and dry clothes and towels every day, the living room was confortable and spacious, so were the rooms and the bathrooms. It has a big veranda with a table to dine outside and it faces a private pier. Every apartment has a little pier on the sea from where my kids enjoyed some fishing, with no results but with a lot of fun. The place is gated and safe, with a guard during the night. There is also a little pool, we didn’t used that much, being in such a beautiful island we preferred the beaches. We rented a car because we wanted to see as much as we could and to try different locations every day. Three big supermarkets are at walking distance, there are also restaurants and shops nearby. The area, Rodney Bay, is very nice, despite of a little traffic. Luckily we had not any need, but there are also many medical facilities on the area, and I found it reassuring because I was travelling with my kids. The owner, Robert, was always helpful and available. He gave us directions and suggestions. The cleaning service is provided twice a week and the apartment is really cleaned well. We arranged for extra cleaning with no difficulties, it was quite expensive, but it was our choice. The cleaning lady always washed the sheets and the towels and even my stuff. I really have nothing to complain about and I hope I’ll get a chance to come back there.
Apartamento amplio con excelente vista a la marina con muelle propio, todo perfecto ubicación , limpieza , nos sentimos como en casa.
I stayed for two weeks in the one bedroom apartment. The room service was never regular , my apartment was only cleaned when I called up the owner and requested the service. The apartment is situated around bushes so I was bitten every day and night by mosquitoes. The kitchen area is dated and needs upgrading. The worst part of my experience was the information leaflets in the apartment was not correct and from that information I booked a taxi back to the airport only to be told the price was much higher than advertised when I arrived back to the UK I found that the owner had gone into my account and taken monies out of my account without my permission. I subsequently tried to contact him to query this and he has not returned my calls. I come to St Lucia regularly and would never recommend this place.
Excellent place to stay, right down town close to shoping and beaches. Also has 24 hour security and a pool. I will try to book this place again next time I visit. My sister and I had a wonderful time on vacation.
Just returned from a week holidaying here. Managed by Cleopatra Villas, this 2 bed waterside property is in a great location. Quietly tucked away on a small gated marina development, but 2 minutes walk to the supermarket and the restaurants and bars of Rodney Bay. There is a nice little swimming pool, well tended gardens and designated parking. Several of the villas have British families living here year round, which gives a nice community atmosphere which is a million miles from the impersonal resort hotels. Robert of Cleopatra Villas is on hand to answer all queries, and the villa is well equipped for self catering. The property is new to the rental market, and does not have the advertised room safe or hairdryer, However, everything else is as described and for scuba divers like me, the laundry/utility room is perfect for drying wetsuits. The only slight criticism is the lack of an outdoor table for eating, but Robert did indicate, on check out, that this was something he would raise with the owner. You will not be disappointed with this accommodation.
Since I've been to St. Lucia 2 times already, I was surprised at the location and the quietness of the Villa. The Owner, Robert, was very pleasant and friendly and was only concerned with my comfort level as I arrived at the Villa. When I met the staff, they were warm and friendly and if I needed anything, Shelly would provide it. She's so caring and friendly and if I needed anything, she could provide it! I was provided with everything I needed as well as a transformer and internet connection because I took my computer with me on my trip. I will never make that mistake again! They had USA television stations and I was able to watch my Los Angeles Lakers win a basketball game! I was even able to wash my clothes while at the Villa because they have all the amenities as if you were at home! The swimming pool was also delightful. It was right outside my room with a view that I've never experience in my trips to St. Lucia. You could see the ocean once you open your front door! There was always a cool breeze outside and I was able to keep my door open to let the breeze in, so I didn't use the air conditioner that much during my stay. There was plenty of hot water for my two week vacation and the walk to the local stores and beaches was just outside the Villa and I'd take a walk there everyday to get exercise and groceries. If I needed a discount on groceries, I'd just ask one of the locals if I could use their Super J Card. Everyone there was friendly, so I always got a discount on my groceries. The beach was not far away as well. A small 10 minute walk to the warm water would cool me off just fine, as I returned to the room just before sunset because I heard the area was not safe. This couldn't be true because I never saw anyone outside of the Villa or anywhere near who looked like trouble. I could sit outside at night with my door open and no one ever passed by. This was absolute serenity for my 50th birthday. A peaceful tranquility where I didn't have to worry about anything. If you walk up the street towards the boats, they have very nice, inexpensive restaurants that you can dine in. If you walk further, you see more restaurants and areas where you can get a local beverage of sorts, even alcohol which was not too expensive. This was a dream vacation! I learned two things...Get on the bus on the same side of the road and that takes you to Gros Islet. Get on the bus on the opposite side of the road and that takes you to Castries. Also, you can walk to Gros Islet as well because it's only one mile away from the Villa. In Gros Islet, you have the Friday night "Jump Up" where you can dance, eat and drink all night long with the locals! Now that's what I call a real vacation! I'm definitely coming back and I definitely recommend the Cleopatra Villas to anyone who wants a delightful stay in St. Lucia.
We were a party of 4 (2 couples) staying at Cleopatra’s Villas, Harbour unit #14a, in Rodney Bay. Overall, it was a good vacation, but I was underwhelmed with St. Lucia compared to many other Caribbean destinations I’ve visited. We don’t like staying at big hotels and prefer to find a good condo for our trips. The Cleopatra’s Villas are situated in a great location. When you walk out of the complex, you immediately see restaurants, grocery stores, a mall, taxi stands and more. The beach is an easy 10 minute walk. The Cleopatra’s Villa’s personnel were friendly with the maid be so very nice and helpful. Robert, the manager, was nice and sold us some charcoal. But he did not fix the problems with the unit, which took away from the experience. The villas use a solar water heating system and it’s quite possible that the water tank is shared with other units. The few times we had access to hot (aka warm) water, we made good use of it for the few minutes it lasted. But, for the most part, we each took cold showers every day. The advertised WiFi is a misrepresentation and only partially worked from window areas in the bedrooms. The signal must be shared with another unit or units. When it did connect, which was not guaranteed, it was very slow. The main living areas as well as the bedrooms have door sensors that turn the AC off when you open the door. When you are away, the AC is not on. That means you return to an 85 degree bedroom if you are away for a while. We figured out how to turn on the bedroom AC’s after we exited the room, so at least we returned to a comfortable bedroom temperature. However, the main living room’s AC never worked and Robert only sent someone to look at it 2 days before we left and the repairman could not fix it during our visit. So, we endured sweltering temperatures in the living room and kitchen. You’ve probably read that St. Lucia has cleaned up a lot of the crime and hustling since the global economic downturn, but the hustling is still plentiful right outside of complex especially with the taxi drivers – both licensed and unlicensed. Taxi prices are high and no matter what you are doing, you will be approached by numerous drivers trying to force you into their taxi. Even though there are 3 taxi stands within a 5 minute walk, you will be approached by 3-6 taxi drivers within 5 minutes. Just ignore them. The hustler’s on the beach are plentiful, too. If you want something they are selling or renting, be prepared to negotiate and walk away or pay way too much. A $3 float in the US rents for $20 a day at the beach. That is, if you are foolish enough to pay that much. Offer them a reasonable price and if they don’t take it, walk away. They will stop you and continue to lower their price until you reach something “reasonable.” Don’t assume you can just go to the “competition” a little further down the beach. We notice that they were either friendly with each other or working together and watched as they would grill together, eat together and pay the same “man in charge” at times. There are uniformed police/security officers in the main shopping areas which gives much better piece of mind, but be cautious anyway. There isn’t much to do after 6pm, so make sure you and your friends are entertaining. Besides, it can get a little seedy when it starts getting dark. We ran into an American who was living in St. Lucia and attending a medical school. She used her local’s discount card for us a few times to save us some money. If you can buddy up with a local, try to do the same and tip the local. The American did tell us that the locals are paid a pittance, so a $1-2 tip will go a long way towards better service. If you can, bring your own condiments, dry foods, ocean floats, etc. and leave it all behind at the end of your trip. You won’t be able to take your own beer, but be prepared to pay a fairly hefty price even for the local brewed Piton beer. It’s for the bottle deposit. It’s not apparent that you pay a deposit, but you do. The grocery store gives credit for the beer crate (if you buy a case), but not the bottles. It looks like the locals are the only ones who know where to cash in the bottles and they are very happy to take your empties. We gave ours to the maid. The hamburger meat in St. Lucia has a funny taste which was not limited to a single restaurant. After getting nauseous a few times, we figured out it was the hamburger meat and avoided it. We haven’t determined the composition of the hamburger meat and what may be causing the different taste, but it’s quite possible they blend horse meat with cow meat. They may also be using different spices and additives. I would recommend avoiding the “hamburger” products. The steaks were very good. We even grilled at the villa a few times and had a wonderful time with our meals and friends. Don’t forget lots of bug spray!
We stayed in one bedroom studio. It was actually nicer then on the photos. I won't be picky about few very small cons. I can recommend this place. Great value. Nice view for the bay, swimming pool was in the sun the whole day. Cleaning lady was doing perfect job. The contact with the menager Robert was super quick and easy
