Loved the theme of the hotel and room, very clean, pool was lovely and warm. Staff were amazing nothing was to much trouble.
The bed and pillows were rock hard didn't sleep very well
Being so close to the park was perfect. Rooms were great and kids loved it. Breakfast was good too - lots of choice and easy to get a table. Views of the animals from the hotel was a bonus. Most of the staff were pleasant.
Check-in was a bit off - staff looked like they didn't want to be there. Didn't really give us any information about our stay (what time breakfast etc). Just all felt a bit cold.
A buffet breakfast included in the hotel stay plenty to choose from. Free parking. In the restaurants you have a view to see the animals and there’s also a little garden that you can walk along the fence to see them. The restaurants also offer takeaway.
Would like Softer towels and comfier beds, the fridge in the room has a glass door so you can always see the light is on
View, location
Beds not comfortable
The kids loved the hotel and it was very well equipped for them. Having the mini fridge in the room was a huge bonus for us. Early park access was another big advantage and you could define tell once the park had opened. The staff were lovely. The pool area was great for keeping the kids entertained in the evening too.
Breakfast was just okay. We didn't dine in the hotel as I thought the prices were very expensive for what was on offer. Thr rooms could have been cleaner as there was remnants of food on the carpet from previous visitors. But all in all, the hotel was good for the price.
The early access to the park
Very limited gluten free options and while we were there there was a flood so we had no water or toilet facilities in our room. Offered the use of showers in the pool area after we asked and we could use the main hotel toilets which is not at all private but no compensation for the inconvenience.
Location
No entertainment!
Loved the resort theme park animals and rides .
Staff was not helpful at all.we had a cancelled flight and came to this resort after waiting 14hrs at airport with kids at 11pm.resort said we had to check out by 10am.i asked for one more night and they said nothing is available fully booked.however I went online and booked a room right away.why did the staff lie to me .I was at there desk 7am begging for a room as kids were exhausted. Why were they not willing to help? Very disappointed.
Great breakfast, plenty of options hot and cold. Nice walk around the animals in the evening and comfortable room.
Parking is a mix of hotel and general admission which makes it very busy and a struggle to find a space
Good food, entertainment for kids, mostly nice staff
No hanger or hanger racks, just an empty wardrobe, dirty carpets. A few staff weren’t so nice.
Lots to do, pool, arcades and space to see the animals
Not sign posted enough on what you can do and when. For example we didn’t know we could still access the zoo part from my the hotel after the main zones had shut. If we had known we would have utilised this and visited the animals when we arrived.

Location
Staff eccellente!
Rooms are large and fairly well kitted out tea, coffee and a fridge. Room had a large bed and a bath and shower. Meals in the restaurant are good but have gone up.
Steam room still isn't working and the sauna isn't really that hot. Been coming for years and the facilities need a bit of updating.
Very convenient, and a bonus to have access to the park and hour early so we could do Paw Patrol world before it got busy. Our toddler also loved looking out onto the animals.
Evening food in the restaurant was very expensive.
Proximity to the resort; the parking availability, the staff.
Tires, dated needs a refresh
Overall the hotel was nice. Staff were friendly.
The bed was one of the most uncomfortable i have ever stayed in. Food and drinks were overpriced. Kids entertainment was average considering the resort is aimed at families with children. Some biscuits in the room would have been nice considering the amount we paid for a one nights stay. One restaurant wasn’t open, this was very disappointing, forcing us to eat in the only restaurant open.
Proximity to the park, fast and efficient check in and large comfortable rooms
The hotel and staff were excellent, great atmosphere and great location. Rooms were well equipped.
The food wasn't great in the hotel. The splash pool wasn't operating and the jacuzzi wasn't working either.
Great to be close to the park in a hotel with its own entrance.
Room wasn’t clean, food was inedible and staff were polite but completely unhelpful.
After reading all the reviews, I can’t lie I was not expecting much when we stayed here to spend 2 days at Chessington however I was pleasantly surprised. It’s not a luxury hotel but then at the price we paid and being familiar with the brand I already knew that. Our room was spacious, clean and well equipped. We were warned that rooms backing on to the theme park may be affected by spooky noises from one of the ride soundtracks at night but we were not affected. I understand air con is not working at full capacity but we had a fan if needed and it wasn’t an issue. The main pluses for us were the fact it’s literally a 5-10min walk to the main entrance of the theme park and all the staff we encountered in the hotel and restaurant were very friendly and helpful (despite very clearly being understaffed - with special mention to Chloe and the restaurant chef who the kids were very taken with). The breakfast was fine in my opinion and pretty standard as to what I’ve found in most hotels like this. If you have the energy, I’d probably suggest eating elsewhere for your other meals as the food was pretty pricey for the quality and quantities that were provided but all in all we had a great time and it was all fine
Perfect for family of 4 with 2 kids
Lifts slow and waiting ages.
Location is great for chessington and plenty of parking. However the lack of staff caused a big issue at dinner time and was also noticeable at breakfast. This needs to be sorted, the poor staff that are working are really struggling
Lovely themed rooms for the park. Easily accessible. Great staff.
Price is crazy. Earlier check in times would be nice. The gift in the safe was a let down compared to Legoland. Buffet breakfast needs to be hotter
I stayed at the Premier Inn Chessington with my two young daughters and unfortunately had a very poor experience. Shortly after checking in at around 7pm, I discovered that the bathroom sink waste was leaking badly enough that water was splashing onto our feet and pooling around the sink and toilet. I immediately reported it to reception because I was concerned about the obvious slip hazard, particularly with young children. The receptionist, a young man called , Jay, jovially told me he didn’t know what to do, so I asked him to contact the manager. I was told the maintenance person wasn’t available until 10pm. There were also no other rooms available. At around 9:30pm, having heard nothing, I went back to reception. I was told I could use another room’s bathroom, but that a member of staff would have to stand outside while we used it. I wasn’t comfortable with that, particularly with my daughters, so I asked instead for the maintenance person to come to our room as soon as they were available. Nobody came. Nobody inspected the leak. Nobody checked on us. Nobody provided an update. Nobody came to clear the water or provide towels. We simply had to deal with it ourselves. We consequently couldn’t use the bathroom normally and I wasn’t comfortable allowing my daughters to use it without supervision because of the wet floor. What made the situation even more frustrating was the response I subsequently received from Premier Inn’s Executive Team. They claimed that staff had offered to clear the water and provide additional towels, which I declined, and that they hadn’t told me a member of staff would have to supervise the use of the alternative room. All lies! They also stated that there was no on-site maintenance available that night, despite me specifically being told that the maintenance person would be available from 10pm and asking for them to attend. I’m understand faults happen. I’m dissapointed about how the hotel dealt with it and essentially called me a liar. With two young children and a wet bathroom floor, I expected someone to actually attend, assess the problem and communicate with us. Instead, we were effectively left to deal with it ourselves. Very disappointing customer service and not the standard I expected from Premier Inn. Won’t be staying here again! The room was dirty aswell.
Fun for kids- lots of extra activities to do. Film night and disco
Beds were very uncomfortable, I had mould on my duvet cover
The waitress in the restaurant was an absolute superstar. Unfortunately I didn’t catch her name, however she was working the whole place on her own. She was sorting the seating, taking orders, serving food, cleaning tables, making drinks, making desserts and the list goes on. She did not get flustered she just got on with the job. Although the whole situation was completely unfair on her, she really did do well and deserves recognition.
The room and view was great
Had to book swimming in the the morning for next day

The hotel was fantastic, staff were super helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Nice little treat for the kids when they go to the room. House keeping staff were awesome and did a fantastic job.
The prices 💸💸 💸
The room had a separate space for the kids.

How close it was to theme park
Cleanliness and restaurant
The location and the fact you got into the park an hour before it opened
It was quite pricey and as it was aim for children, I thought they might have suitable programs on the tv for the children to chill after a busy day
The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive throughout our stay. They went above and beyond to assist us, which we really appreciated. The hotel facilities were excellent, the rooms were amazing and the resort itself was fantastic. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely consider booking again in the future.

Amazing views of the animals, lovely decor in rooms & around the hotel
Restaurant staff were rude, no room service available, bar closed at 10pm, check out at 10am -quite early. Arcade only suitable for older children no games for a 3 year old. Had booked swimming for morning but childrens pool was out of use so couldn't do that-when checking in there was no mention of this.
Nice theming.
Cold breakfast. Powercut meant no early access, main reason for using Chessington Hotel! Splash Pool closed. Wanyama Reserve not open in the evening. Bit of entertainment for maybe under 5s, nothing for older children.
Lovely friendly staff, easy parking, great location, fun touches for kids.
The windows were so dirty that we could barely see the view we paid for.

Very family oriented we had a fantastic stay
Pool facilities were only ok at the time we visited but we still enjoyed the pool
Great location to the park, hotel is very child friendly, rooms are fabulous, great air conditioning and beautiful decor.
The staff were unhelpful at times, no clear information given at check in re importance of booking breakfast and dinner slots which resulted in having to eat breakfast in the adjoining hotel one morning and getting a takeaway dinner one evening.
The location to the park was perfect.
It was tired looking and not the cleanest resort we have stayed in. Also the food was ok and we only ate breakfast there as it was included but could have been a lot better.
We did book breakfast but woke up late and the restaurant still managed to find a table for us. Breakfast and dinner was great. With three children who are very fussy they loved it.
Everything was great
Loved the themed rooms
Customer service - kids pool was shut.
Communication was awful. I went to book a table for the morning after, no need to, went to breakfast and the woman was saying we needed to. It was like a zoo, tables were dirty and full of plates etc. No one were sirting on these tables andbthe queue for a table was ridiculous. Not enough staff.
We enjoyed the view overlooking the safari animals!
We were disappointed that the splash pool was closed during our stay!
It was really good. We enjoyed our stay with a newborn and a 3 year old
The overall experience was quite expensive, and the food and drinks at the restaurant were also pricey, which is understandable given the location inside the park. It would have been a nice touch to have some drinks available in the mini fridge - not necessarily complimentary, but as a paid option for convenience. The lifts were also quite small, which made them feel cramped, especially during busy periods.
Location and wasn’t too busy time of the year
The hotel's design is absolutely amazing and truly one of a kind. Everywhere you look, there's attention to detail, and the highlight is being able to watch zebras while sitting at the bar or having a meal in the restaurant. It's a beautiful and unforgettable setting. The staff were also very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Unfortunately, there were several major downsides, especially for families with babies. The hotel has a policy of not providing mattresses for baby cots. The cot only came with a hard wooden board, making it completely unsuitable and uncomfortable for a baby to sleep on. When I asked if they could at least provide extra blankets to make it softer, I was simply told to bring my own. I explained that this isn't practical when traveling by plane, but they didn't respond to that concern. The breakfast was also disappointing, with a rather limited selection compared to what we expected. In addition, several pool facilities were out of service during our stay, including the entire baby splash area and the jacuzzi. Overall, the hotel's stunning design and excellent staff made a great first impression, but the lack of basic baby-friendly amenities and the unavailable pool facilities significantly affected our experience.
Beds were comfortable, majority of the staff were friendly.
It was like staying in Fawlty Towers. Air-conditioning was broken on arrival, we were given 2 fans. If we hadn't asked the following morning for it to be fixed they wouldn't have bothered. The booking was for 4 people, on arrival there was only enough towels for 2 adults. The hairdryer in the room was faulty, it actually shot out sparks. Told reception and suggested it be removed as it's clearly a safety issue. It was still there when we checked out. I knew when I booked the splash pool was closed, unfortunately so was the spa pool and steam room. Took the kids to the pool, the water was filthy and for some reason they thought roping off access to the stairs was a good idea. They weren't out of order. You could still use the stairs to get into the pool but you had to either climb over the rope/wall or swim under the rope. The website states they have a good selection of Gluten-free products, when checking the allergens there was very little on the main menu. You had to shower on your knees, as when you tried to move the shower head up the pole, the pole would come out of it's holder. The kettle in the room, clearly hadn't been cleaned between guests and whoever stayed previously boiled something other than water in the kettle. Overall I expected better for £225 per night.
Close proximity to the theme park
Lots of ongoing work meaning that not everything was accessible. Mattress on the bed was very hard
Good theme but didn’t match 100% to the parks .
Too hot and made me breakout in a heat rash
The staff, the resort and the perks were all amazing!
The cleanliness, I had to ask for my room to be cleaned and for fresh towels when I returned from our day at Chessington when there is a sign inside the room stating the room is cleaned daily unless stated otherwise by the sign to hang on the door.
Que está todo con su temática eso para los niños es muy llamativo y bonito
Pues no me gustó un poco fue la atención del restaurante se demoraban en atender y luego te traían la comida fría para los precios que tienen pues pienso que debería haber una mejor atención en eso.
Room spacious and great air con. Very good breakfast, entertainment for young children is a lovely addition.
The pool changing rooms in a poor state, could be far better maintained.
The hotel was amazing, all the entertainment and food options were great for little ones
Some areas could get very busy at times
Like the location. Easy to park the car . The room is in good location and can over looking the zoo . Good breakfast . Comfortable bed.
Don’t have enough tea and coffee facilities. No sweet treats
The option to have breakfast at 10.15 in the Aztec reastaraunt very satisfied .
I was dissapointed that the swimming pool closed at 8 pm & did not open till 1pm . Please open till 10pm again .
Proximity to the park
Air conditioning not working in room Swimming pool only partially open and only one big rectangle pool
Lovely theme decor, welcoming staff. Staff were helpful when contacted about an issue.
The room wasn’t cleaned properly. There was grit, dirt and darkness between the shower tiles, hairs on the shower floor. Bathroom mirror had stains. Grime in toilet and sink. Paint on the room counter too. The tv kept turning on and off by itself. Thankfully staff came to help. I asked about another room but I didn’t have time the next day to follow it up or it would take into our activity times. Breakfast was very cheap tasting.
Beautiful views of the animals and close to the park with early access. Spacious rooms.
Unfortunately, the splash pool wasnt open. More evening entertainment would be better for the children. Rooms were a little tired.
Everything. Sitting outside for our evening meal. Food was lovely. Breakfast was really good. Will stop again
Just how happy kids were
Bed , price of food drinks ..looking a bit run down
Great location and theme. All public areas are aesthetically appealing . Reception were very friendly and helpful.
The room was underwhelming
Very comfortable room, spacious enough and comfy beds. Very clean hotel with lovely amenities for kids. We enjoyed the fact that we could enter the park an hour earlier than the day visitors.
Breakfast can be improved.
Breakfast OK, loved the early park access that comes with the hotel stay & free parking for guests. What you would expect to pay for a resort hotel & matched expectations.
We enjoyed seeing the animals during breakfast and dinner.
Where do I start? Firstly no communication. Not even an info pack in the room. Splash pool closed (was aware beforehand) but then the main pool was rammed and having a neurodivergent child was far too busy for us to use. No info about entertainment so we didn’t get to see that either. Temple Restaurant closed, again no info. Waited over 5 mins for drinks when we did eat. No one answered any of my 5 calls I made for assistance instead I had to walk twice to the front desk. I am a disabled person and we were far from desk. I would not recommend nor stay at the hotel again. Felt very let down considering we’ve heard some fab reviews
We were staying because of the proximity to the Wimbledon Championships so it was an ideal place to stay that was easy to get to from the grounds and was very reasonably priced. We didn't have kids with us but can imagine if we had it would be a really good fun place to stay. Got a very warm welcome from the hotel staff and had a very comfortable room. Breakfast was good and the view from the restaurant was lovely. Great facilities too.
Nothing
Fantastic location. Great rooms which the kids loved and such a great view over the safari park. Room was clean and beds were comfy. Great price for easy location. Breakfast was good and lots of choice.
Staff were quite direct and dismissive at times which is an easy change which would have gone a long way. The coffee at breakfast could have been of better quality too.
Lovely place. Friendly staff. Rooms good and clean
- Easy access to the park - Some fantastic staff- Phoebe in particular on Reception was simply exceptional - Breakfast was nice - Rooms were good, aside from air con and tv issues
- Air con broke in two rooms so we ended up staying in 3 different rooms - TV didn’t work in 2nd room (found it needed resetting) - Shower head broken in 3rd room - Pool was disappointing with the splash pool out or order - Boiling in the restaurant area which was hard to see for the staff having to work but also made dinner not so enjoyable
It was child friendly. It was colourful. It was nice environment
The dirty toilet. The hard double bed.
Lovely rooms, clean sheets and soft material. Bathroom was clean and the works too. Swimming pool staff were friendly and the reception staff too. Plenty car park spaces. Lovely location, felt like I was out of the country even though I was less than two hours drive from home. We loved it..
Only thing I didn’t like was the windows needs cleaning from outside. Bird poop lol. I just closed the curtains.
Great service, flexible members of staff
Nothing not to like
Room was lovely, great that we could enter the park a hour before the general public.
Severely understaffed. From having to wait 20 minutes to be greeted when walking in to check in, to waiting 30 minutes for our drinks order. The price for the room is fair however the price for the food is not worth it at all. Far too expensive for the food that was received
Room was a good size
Too many things broken or not working within the resort
Having read the reviews online I was a bit worried about staying here but chose Chessington for being close to Chessington world of Adventures. I was very impressed with the room, it was newly modernised, had great air conditioning and with 32 degree heat was very welcomed as this was what I was worried about!! No lift which wasn’t great but as only 1 flight of stairs it was manageable. Could walk up to the theme park in less than 10 mins and was able to park in the car park with no issues! Happy with my stay and would recommend to a friend!
It was well set up loved it
It was amazing
Everything
Restaurant was nice although very pricey. Good decor throughout.
Located on a busy part of the hall way so noise during the later evening wasnt great. Price for the room and breakfast I thought was quite high.
we loved the property, from the cheerful greeting of the reception staff, who clearly answered all my questions, to watching the zebras, giraffes and ostrich from our bedroom as the sunset. We had a lovely breakfast followed by early park access which our children loved.
We loved everything
Great value for money
Could do with a bit of updating. Rooms / communal areas slightly tired
The room was amazing, so well set up for little ones. The staff were so friendly and helpful, my husband took Ill the very first day and the staff were so good and organized first aid to look at him and organized a taxi for us to get to the hospital. John was so kind and he upgraded our stay to a gruffalo bedroom, the room was amazing and my little boy was given two books and two teddies, it was such a lovely touch. The pool was nice and the breakfast buffet was good. We could see the zoo from our bedroom window also!! It was such a cool hotel.
The food was not the best, for the kids there were only a few options and adult portions were small, it was also very expensive.
The breakfasts were delicious. Shortage of plates , not enough food cooked unfortunatly.we had to wait for our breakfast whilst the kids ate
The dinner menu and evening menus had little and poor choice . Drinks were expensive. Not enough tea and coffee in hotel room
Location was fine. We weren’t even going to the theme park but used this hotel as near where we needed to go.
The loo blocked and it was reported at 8am and when we returned at nearly 10pm, it hadn’t been unblocked/fixed. The cleaner had even been in the room and did nothing about it either.
Chloe was superb, attention to detail and eyes up is key to service …Chloe has all that 👍 Well done
Booked 2 nights to visit Chessington World of Adventures and spend some time in the capital. Lovely modern room with clean bathroom and tea/coffee facilities. Perfect for a couple of nights. Lots of parking available. Short walk/taxi ride to the train station for a day out in London. Fab reception team! Special shout out to Jay for helping us during our stay. From keeping the iced water topped up in reception to providing us with an ironing board, he really went that extra mile. 5 stars. Will definitely be staying again.
came to stay here the night before going to chessington world of adventures as I live very far. The room was as expected and very clean. I’m shocked to see other reviews saying their rooms were dirty. Anyway had a great stay and staff was lovely especially the man who checked me in, Jay. He was very kind and happily assisted me with clean towels and any questions I had. Great stay overall!
Great Staff Jay was very helpful
I am very pleased with my experience staying here for a nice get away trip with my family. special thank you to Jay at the front desk for his hospitality and professionalism.
Great stay, very local to Chessington world of adventures. Kids loved it.
Such a unique stay. Great theming and lovely to wake up to roaming giraffes and zebra from bedroom window. Always worth paying for safari view in my opinion!
Bedrooms can have bathroom issues. Smell of drains and faulty sink plug

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
6.8/10Multiple reviews cite poor cleanliness (dirty tables, rooms and windows needing attention; some guests called the resort 'tired' and 'not the cleanest'), though a few mentioned the hotel was 'clean and tidy'.
Service
8.8/10Service is mixed but largely positive: several guests described staff as 'fantastic', 'friendly', 'welcoming' and helpful, though there are repeated complaints about communication, check-in guidance and occasional unhelpfulness.
Location
9.5/10Consistently praised — excellent proximity to the park/theme-park access and unique safari views (overlooking zebras/safari animals) make location a major strength.
Room Quality
8.2/10Rooms receive praise for themed design, decor and air conditioning, but issues were noted (very hard mattress in one report, some rooms described as needing renovation and windows/rooms requiring cleaning, cot without mattress).
Amenities
7/10Several amenity issues: multiple pool facilities, baby splash area and jacuzzi were out of service or closed during stays; lifts described as small and cramped; overall mixed/under-maintained amenities.
Value for Money
7.2/10Frequently described as pricey/expensive (including restaurant prices). Guests accept the premium for location but feel some conveniences (e.g., mini-fridge options) and comfort could be improved for the price.
Food and Beverage
7.6/10Mixed feedback: some guests praised breakfast and dinner and staff accommodating late arrivals, while others found breakfast limited and food only 'ok' or disappointing on occasions.
Overall Experience
9.7/10Despite specific issues (cleanliness, some amenity closures and inconsistent communication), many guests described a 'magical' stay, would return or recommend, and highlighted memorable aspects (design, safari views, family-friendly atmosphere).
