Everything was well done, and services were awesome.

Rooms were kept spotless each day, the breakfast was lovely a buffet with a wide selection to choose from would 100% stay here again without a doubt. Also breakfast staff were very friendly and kept on top of everything would highly recommend this place for the price you can’t go wrong.

Sehr urige und gemütliche Unterkunft mit sehr freundlichen Personal und tollen Frühstück. Lediglich in der Dusche wäre eine Thermostatbatterie zeitgemäß, da es hier noch Einhebelmischbatterien mit all ihren Nachteilen gibt.

Perfekt boende för två vuxna och en tonåring. Vi hade två handfat på rummet men gemensam toalett och dusch. Riktigt fräscht dock så helt ok. Riktigt trevlig personal och bra frukost.

Sehr schönes und uriges Haus. Mein Zimmer war aber recht neu und sehr schön. Habe freundlicherweise ein Upgrade erhalten. Frühstück im Haupthaus absolut top. Jederzeit gerne wieder.

Good room and friendly staff. They were building a new house aside so there was some noise but only during daytime.

Beautiful house, friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent. They have a charger for electric/hybrid vehicles. The only negative thing I'd note is that the room had a bit of a strange smell.

Our stay in pension steinbock was very pleasant. We only stayed for one night, since we were heading for italy the day after. We could check in ourselves and the room was clean and tidy. We had breakfast included which was really nice with enough options to choose from. Overall a pleasant experience!

The hotel is very clean and cared for. The staff and owners are kind and extremely helpful! Apart from being a lovely place itself, the surrounding area around the Steinbock hotel offers a wide variety of activities. Whether you like to go hiking, biking, swimming, or anything else, this is the place for you!

My stay was a pleasant experience. This was my first time staying in a hotel with a shared bathroom, but the reviews were pretty good so I gave it a shot. The bathroom is kept very clean and I never had to wait to use it. The building itself is very charming. The staff was very pleasant. The breakfast was great. The shuttle bus into town runs frequently.

Just close enough to town for evenings, and far enough out of town for a good sleep. BUS 2 stops right outside (not 24 hour!) for access to slopes and shops and bars. Breakfast is serious - you could easily stock up with energy til the late afternoon. Hot water is copious - but timing your run to the separate shower can be a pain : that is Austria! Staff are full of gemutlichkeit, and ever willing to help out. The next door Hotel Sonnbichl provides good evening fare if town does not appeal, and all at a sensible price.

Waren für 3 Nächte zum Skifahren hier und hatten ein Doppelzimmer in der Pension Steinbock. Das Zimmer war schön geräumig, großes Bad, Balkon, bequeme Betten,alles super. Auch das Frühstück war sehr sehr lecker. Sehr praktisch ist der Ski-Abstellraum, mit Skischuh-Trockner. Wir können dies nur weiterempfehlen.

Nous avons très bien accueilli malgré notre arrivée tardive, et avons été surclassé dans l’hôtel s’en face Das Sonnbichl Genusshotel. Le personnel était très serviable, l’hôtel joliement décoré et le petit déjeuner excellent.

Aamiainen oli erittäin monipuolinen ja loistava kokonaisuudessaan. Sijainniltaan meille juuri hyvä, rauhallisessa paikassa.

No parking available when we got there and restaurant fully booked so had to eat crisps and chocolate from the filling station down the road. Staff brushed us off like an inconvenience

Vi fick ett litet rum utan dusch och toa men med handfat. Natten efter uppgraderade vi oss till ett rum med badrum på rummet. Enkla men mysiga rum med bra sängar. Det tar cirka 20 minuter att promenera in till byn eller så tar man postbussen som stannar precis utanför. Der Steinbock är lillasyster till Hotell Das Sonnbichl där man äter en fantastisk frukostbuffé och även St Antons bästa Wienerschnitzel. Fantastisk service och trevlig atmosfär.

Kom helt tilfeldig over dette overnattingstedet på hotell.com. Siden prisen var god passet det ypperlig for meg som var på motorsykkeltur i Alpene og trengte et rimelig overnattingsted. Her var det lett å få parkering og de hadde veldig god mat. Hadde også mulighet for å tørke våte mcklær, noe jeg ikke trengte. Anbefales!!!

Great stay, and nice room!

Excellent hotel on the outskirts of St Anton. Daily breakfast that had many great options with exceptional service. The room was clean and had breathtaking views from the balcony.

I have been visiting the alps several times, however this was definitely my best stay. For the value you can not find any better accommodation in St. Anton. The rooms are nice, service is superb and the food is high class. Really recommend trying dinner at their resturant. The best in the area by far. So to conclude, I could write endlessly why one should stay here when visiting St. Anton but I am going to try to keep it short. If rooms are availble you can not go wrong booking your stay at Pension der Steinbock - Das.

Sehr netter Empfang, großzügiges sauberes Zimmer, reichhaltiges Frühstück, freundliches Personal - alles in allem empfehlenswert

Lage ist gut, die Kooperation mit dem Sonnenbichl bzgl der Sauna ist sehr gut. Da die Zimmertüren eher dünn sind, hat man rege Teilnahme an den Unterhaltung der Gäste auf dem Flur. Aus den anderen Zimmern bekommt man nichts mit.

Passed St Anton on a roadtrip through the Austrian Alps in July and stopped at Pension der Steimbock. Arriving out of hours we checked in at the hotel next to Pension der Steinbock. Breakfast was also served in that building. Room was clean and nicely kept. Free parking is next to the front door.

El alojamiento cubrió mis expectativas: limpieza, comodidad, dormitorio silencioso y entorno perfecto. Valoré muy positivamente que la ventana de la habitación además de tener una cortina tuviera una persiana ya que permitió dejar completamente a oscuras el dormitorio para un mejor descanso. Como aspecto a mejorar, comentar que en el bufet del desayuno vimos alguna mosca entre los alimentos, les aconsejaría que procuraran tener protegidos (en vitrina o tapados) aquellos productos que estén al aire libre en el bufet como bollería, tartas, quesos y fiambres.

We were staing in der Strinbock but the receptions/breakfast was handled by Sonnbichl, next door. The room was really nice and confortable and had a balcony with chairs and a small table to sit outside. Bathroom was spotless with really good shower and heated floor. The room service was excellent: after they realized that we had some wine in the room with us, they left us some wine glasses without us even asking. The breakfast at Sonnbichl was simply amazing: fully of so many delicious things that we couldn't stop getting more. Especially the home made jam. It was a pleasure to deal with the girl at reception: always smiling and extremely helpful with all our questions. As part of the hotel we got a card to get some free rides on the cable car/buses. They also provided a trove of pamphlets with all the info we could ever need. When we asked if we could check out later, they also said there was no problem. We were expecting to pay extra for the service but they didn't charge us anything. We also ad dinner at Sonnbichl and it was delicious. This is a fantastic place and if we are back in the area we will stay here again.

Close to St Anton. Room is tidy and the window opened wide with a view of the mountains. Breakfast was hearty with a selection of meats, eggs, bread, dairy and cereals, with juices and coffees. Enjoyed my stay

Prettig Pension, rustig gelegen. Schone kamers en een super ontbijt. Dank je Christine. Eerste dagen lag het bed niet lekker maar dit hebben ze na overleg goed verholpen. Het is wel wat gehorig maar verder top. Goede vakantie gehad.

If you're looking for a cozy place, with comfortable rooms, extremely clean bathrooms, incredible breakfast (better than in most American hotels!), wonderful views, joyous and excellent skiers, this is the place for you! We stayed 6 nights at Pension der Steinbock, and had an amazing time. It is a beautiful 10 minute walk to the ski lift, and a 5 minute taxi ride to the St Anton train station for €12. The staff were extremely kind, always joyous, and always helpful. We had to stay in St Anton an extra night because of an avalanche and heavy snow, and the staff were very kind in letting us stay, and even gave us a better room. For a brief week, we had a family in St Anton. Would absolutely recommend, and return!

Der Aufenthalt war sehr angenehm. Das Personal war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Eines muss ich lediglich bemängeln und zwar stand in unserem Wohnzimmer die Heizung recht niedrig wodurch wir dort etwas gefroren haben. Man konnte sie aber auch nicht verstellen. Aber das hat uns nichts ausgemacht. Denn wenn wir im Hotelzimmer waren, dann die meiste Zeit im Schlafzimmer, wo auch ein Fernseher stand :)

My boyfriend and me were staying in this lovely little hotel with classy tyrolean style and really great and friendly staff. There was a big austrian breakfast in the morning which we enjoyed lots. The room was big with a couch and a wardrobe. Also there is a good bus service to the town. I can really recommend this great accommodation!

Very clean and nice pension. The stuff is really nice in 10 min in town, buses come very often and its perfectly plan for skiers. They give you a locker at the Nassereinbahn. The breakfast is really good and the ladies are very friendly.

Habe ein upgrate zum Hotel Das Sonnbichl bekommen. Sehr gutes Preis/Leistung Verhältnis und sehr freundliches Personal. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen.

Been to St.Anton many times now and this was about the best place I've been. Our rooms were comfy and fairly large. Der Steinbock lays close to the busstop and just a short bustrip to nearest cable car, Nasserainbahn. Der Steinbock had great breakfast. I have only positive feedback except for one thing - when I booked through Expedia, I was told to pay the the hotel i local valuta. But when we came to pay with Euros the hotel said they already had taken money from my creditcard. This was our last day, so then we had to bring a lot of Euros back home to Norway. Not a big problem, but still pretty boring.

Clasic pension located at St Jakob, outside St Anton. Nice rooms and decoration. Good breakfast buffet. Dinner is served at the hotel next door, that has a very nice restaurant with efficient staff. We boked dinner for our 7 days stay, and we got salad as first course 5 days! This we didn't like too much. Main courses fine and good and tasty. Wines OK also.

A little confusing to get to as cab driver wasn't sure where it was. Then, had to check in at hotel next-door to get key. But, once in, breakfasts were great and convenience was great.

Stayed here before I sorted out a season apartment last season. Such a nice place with good alp feeling and a big, tasty breakfast. Located in a cosy chalet part of upper St Jacob. Ski bus right outside the door and something around 1 km to Nassereinbahn.

Stayed here overnight it being my last night of an Austrian visit. Spacious room and an excellent breakfast made for a pleasant stay. A local band and booze up was taking place next door as an added bonus. The pension seems to be in a fairly new development area but non the worse for that.

Kamers prima, prijzen ook. Wel stukje lopen naar st anton dus je zit niet gelijk in t leven.. Ontbijt prima but the coffee is the worst coffee I had in months. I would gladly pay extra for better coffee in stead of this watery thea. I think coffe is very important at the start of the day. Other then that lovely hotel.

I stayed just for one night, so can make just a short review of the place. pros: - the place looks amazing, like going back in time, probably a lot of the places look like that in Austria, specially in Tyrol - good price with breakfast included - good location, can be a problem in the winter, it is up on a hill - clean - car park cons: -the bathroom it was outside the room for the room that I booked, probably because of the price, I just wanted cheap. anyway was a good price, so can complain -maybe if I want to walk to village centre it will be around 20 min - check inn until 8 pm, maybe u can tell them in advance and they can arrange something - no free cancelation, but what can u expect? Austria, tyrol, in august...

I stayed at Der Steinbock in July 2015. Apparently because even July is low season in St. Anton (surprisingly the village was very silent), the pension had no reception staff or breakfast. However, the reception of the hotel next door took care of the check in. The hotel next door also offered a plentiful breakfast for Der Steinbock's customers. The rooms at Der Steinbock were basic, but fairly clean. However, the beds are way too hard and thus not comfortable enough to get a good sleep in. The place is a bit of a walk away from the village's center, so we usually ended up taking our rental car to the village. Other things to be warned about: -The rooms share a balcony, so be prepared to not have privacy there. -The stairs don't have full standing height near the wall, so walk near the center of them when going up or you will hit your head to a low hanging edge of a wall like I did.

My boyfriend and I spent 2 nights in this charming pension on our way back to Sweden. The room was big, cozy and had a great view from the balcony. Breakfast was served at the hotel nearby, Das Sonnblichl, and it was delicious! When we arrived we were invited to a meeting with a trekking guide where they served us a glas of Sekt (the German champagne). The guide's name was Angelina, she was very nice and could speak both German and English. For 19 € each we joined her guided tour to the mountain the next day. It was just us and a French couple, and it was really fun! The tour started at 9 o'clock and ended at 4 PM with a surprise: a visit to a local bee farmer who showed us his place and his bees with plenty of detail. We were sceptical to get close to the buzzing insects at first but it was really fascinating and we got more comfortable in the end. Before leaving the owner invited us to try his honey and he gave us small jars as souvenirs. He was very kind! We can gladly recommend others to stay in this beautiful place in the Alps and we will be back soon!

Very good value for money, considering that St Anton is an expensive resort. A shower room gets shared with other rooms, but this was not a problem and kept very clean. 10 mins walk to the lifts (or 2 minute bus), you also get the use of a heated locker at the base gondola to store your skis etc, which I found very useful. Overall I would recommend, is more basic than some hotels, but great value and service.

This was a ski trip to St. Anton. The first thing we were looking for is a place not too far from St. Anton ski area and close to a Ski Bus Stop. Well, there's a Ski Bus Stop right in front of Pension der Steinbock. You can put your ski boots right at the pension and that's what we did every mornings. I didn't know what to expect from this lodging facility. I had never stayed in a "Pension" before. First, there are many Pension lodging facilities in St. Anton and in Austria. A pension is like a Bed & Breakfast logging facility but much bigger. Pension der Steinbock is located about 5 minutes away from the train station by car. The taxi ride was 10 Euros (January 2014). Taxis are mostly minivans and have special racks in the back for skis and snowboards. This pension is on a small, non steep hill and it takes only 10 minutes to walk from the pension to get to St. Anton ski area, the Nassereinbahn Gondola (where you can buy your ski pass and also take the gondola) and 20 minutes to get to the downtown part (most restaurants, hotels, grocery stores, clothing stores, etc.) It might seem long but walking was always a pleasure in St. Anton (beautiful houses to look at and an beautiful scenic view) or even if we were not skiing, we could have used the Free Ski Bus Shuttle (free of charge before 6pm and frequent service). When checkin in, in order to get your keys for your room, you need to go to the building on the left hand side of the Pension, called: Hotel Sonn Bichl. Pension der Steinbock has 12 rooms. Some rooms have their own private bathrooms and some rooms have to share a bathroom with a few other rooms (one shared bathroom on each floor). The Pension and the rooms are non smoking and on 3 levels with no elevators. It has on the the basement a big secured ski storage and a heated rack to dry your ski boots. That was super handy and also appreciated to put on warm boots to go skiing in the morning. They also have free Internet and it worked very well. You just have to input an e-mail address and a password to be able to use it. One of the things that I really appreciated at this pension was their excellent breakfast. The lady taking care of the breakfast buffet was so sweet and she knew how to keep it enjoyable. You are going to learn pretty fast what "Guten Morgen" means! She brings at your table your choice of a pot of coffee of tea. We were on the 3rd and top floor, and loved waking up in the morning to the coffee odour. We knew that an other beautiful day had just started in St. Anton. They only serve quality food. Fresh bread (large variety), a fair cheese selection, different kind of cold meat, yogourt, precut mixed fruits, a bowl of berries, many different kinds of healthy cereals, 4 different kinds of juice, and 3 choices of hot dishes: Boiled eggs, Bacon (crispy and very good) and Scrambled eggs). Expect a small buffet with yummy quality products! They even have freshly made jam on each tables. Breakfast was served from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. Our room was for 2 people and was small. We had 2 single beds next to each other, 2 bed side tables, a 19 inch flat screen TV, a small table to eat and a large wooden closet. The only thing I would say that was missing is a mini fridge. We had a room without a bathroom. We although had a sink and a mirror. The bathroom was right outside our bedroom door and it was kept very clean by the cleaning lady. We never felt like using flip flops. We felt safe to leave things in the room (no mini safe) and our room was made everyday like in a hotel. Something important to consider when going to St. Anton is; St. Anton is know to be a wild Après Ski destination. One of the best in the world. Just Google it! People who wants to party will mostly be staying close to the ski hill (ski in ski out). Pension der Steinbock being a little bit away from the ski hill might assure you having quiet nights. We only heard people living their rooms around 8am and coming back from the ski hill around 4pm. I found it well isolated for noise. This house is 300 years old and mostly made of wood. It was very well built and we never heard people walking up and down the stairs with their ski boots. We mostly felt as if we were the only ones staying in there, and they said that they were full! I would definitely go back to this Pension if I'd go back to St. Anton. Lovely staff made our stay a memorable one! Danke to all of you!

Just outside the village of St Jakob and a 10 minute walk downhill into St Anton. Ski bus stops at the door. We shared a spacious three bed room on the first floor. It had 2 sinks but the shower and toilet are shared with other rooms on the same floor. Apart from the odd time this was never a problem for any of us. Mattieus and all his staff were lovely, friendly but not in your face. I ended up taking a locker in the Intersport in St Anton because I never made it home in time for the ski bus, but for organised skiers this lovely old building is perfect and easy.

We loved the village of St Jakob right next door to St Anton. Walk further up the road into the village - beautiful views, quaint old buildings, you feel you are in a proper Austrian village, not artificially created ski village. St Anton also pleasantly surprised us by preserving it's traditional roots as Arlberg farming community and being wonderfully rustic in appearence despite the hype and the crowds. Der Steinbock offers simple but perfectly comfortable, warm accommodation in rustic surroundings, which just adds to the overall alpine holiday experience. Friendly staff and most delicious, varied and plentiful breakfast served in charming cosy wood panelled farmhouse room with the tiled stove makes this place really special. At -20 outside, it was a joy to sit by the stove and enjoy breakfast. Ski bus stop by the house - 2 stops to ski lift, buses very frequent, you can use buses going in either direction - they all end up at bus station by main gondola. St Anton is wonderfully friendly community, we felt really welcome, English spoken everywhere. The mountain scenery from Valluga is breathtaking. Ski area does not hang well together like,say, Ischgl, and is crowded. We escaped to Lech on direct bus from bus station for 6.50 Euro return (after trying the free bus from Alpe Rauz - big crowd, coudn't get on) for well groomed wide pistes, peace, quiet and beauty.

Quiet, clean, basic and affordable room in St. Anton. Close to ski bus stop. In a quiet section of town, away from the noise and craziness of town. Set up well for skiers. English spoken well. Good value for the money. One of the better half board breakfasts we had on our trip. A sauna would have been appreciated but was not available.

This was our second stay after staying in January 2010 we stayed again this year during the New Year. We think it is good value for money and is perfect for skiiers. The bust stop is right outside which is great. Ski room is literally outside the bus stop. Take your ski boots off and walk upstaiars to your room - perfect stress free. Parking is allocated for your stay which is another benefit. Breakfast is fine with a open type buffet of cereal, bread rolls, cold meats, cheese, bacon rashers and scrambled egg plus lovely fresh juices and teas and cake. Rooms are very clean well looked after. The Komfort room we stayed in was lovely and comes with a very nice en-suite bathroom. The bus/transport system in St Anton is superb so the hotel being situated just up the road from the town centre was ideal nfor us as it is out of the way from the younger crowd but only a short free bus ride in. Buses run every 15 minutes so you are never waiting long. I recommend this hotel for St Anton as it is great value for money, clean ideally placedn next to bust stop, has free wifi in your bedroom which is now a must for my hotel stays and Mattaeus the owner is very helpful. Couldnt be happier with our stays and will booking again with Mattaeus when we visit St Anton again.

We were looked after very well by Pension der Steinbock. It is well set up for skiers and was full of Austrian and Germans when we were here, which is always a good sign in the Tirol. A hearty breakfast, lovely clean rooms, and separate boot and ski room mean that this is a good location for skiers. It is also just opposite the bus stop and is a five minute bus ride (or 10 minute walk) to the Nasserein lift. Don't listen to people who moan about location - unless you want to pay through the nose for a really plush hotel which is slap bang in the middle of town (and on top of the apres ski - good luck getting to sleep on the night you don't decide to hit the sauce!) then we think this is a good choice. The hotel Sonnblich next door is plushy and run by the same family, and has a fantastic restaurant attached as well.

Very poor value. Poor room and bathroom, no atmosphere and if you're a skier it's a long haul to the slopes. Would not recommend this hotel unless it was half price, which in my view would be about right.
