Grand City Hotel Cancun - Near Market 28

Good overall choice for a night. A bit dark and felt like a "night spot". Quiet when we were there. Good price.

Nice small hotel in centric downtown close by a 24hrs Walmart for the midnight munchies. Room was equipped with working AC unit, mini fridge and big smarttv.

I would stay again

It was good a little bit noisy but good stay!

La ubicacion es excelente. Mejoraria el aire acondicionado dias de mucho calor parece ser insuficiente.

We loved Our stay at Grand city hotel. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. It's a bar a few buildings down where you can sit outside and listen to some nice rock music. The whole vibe was good, they kept the property very clean, every day they were cleaning. We will be back and will stay with Grand City hotel again and again!!!

Ive stayed here many times, the staff are super friendly, the rooms huge and its very convenient having microwave, fridge free water and the little seating terrace outside room 207. Easy to walk to walmart and the bus stops. Parts look a bit tired now sadly and the wifi doesnt work well in the rooms. The pool area is lovely, good value short stay

Customer service was excellent and very helpful. Great location for a New Year's eve celebration of sorts, and short walking distance to Oxxo and good restaurants. Easy access to bus that takes you to the beaches. We had a great time. The only problem is there is no sink appropriate for washing dishes. Suitable only for a short stay. Great price for the value.

Affordable price, great service!

The toilets smelled really bad and was not very clean. The rooms smelled bad as well

The location is great but the hotel it self is outdated and the room clean should have improve. I was had skin reaction after sleep one night. I have to ask for clean bed sheet and towel. There is one bar just two blocks away and they are running loud music till midnight.

Staff was nice and very clean

Muy bonito lugar, solo le falta mejorar un poco la condición de los muebles como los sillones. Cerca de restaurantes y tiendas y la vida nocturna.

A nice place to stay in

Terrible

Excellent service

Clean, helpful staff and access to places I want to go to

The staff's so kindly.

The chef Karime was excellent and extremely accommodating.. the staff immediately responded to questions about distances and what was nearby and how to access it. Candy, Aracely, Dora, Aisela, Ana , Francisco and Alvaro kept us all functioning (tv and all else)and made our stay here rewarding and memorable It was a great stay!

It’s a hidden gem. My daughter and I truly enjoyed our stay it was nice and quiet.

I liked the room itself it was small and simple and had what I needed there is a cute bar down the street that I hung out at one night but it's across the street from the hospital and not exactly the greatest of neighborhoods. The tour buses don't come to this hotel so you either have to get an Uber or figure out how to walk to the nearest pick up spot. For my quick stay this was fine but if I was staying longer than two or three days I would definitely find somewhere more accommodating, closer to restaurants and transportation. I didn't have that much interaction with the staff but they were friendly, useful and spoke English.

I loved the stay

Great Friendly Staff, Pool, Clean ROOM Hotel, Good Breakfast.

The people are wonderful and very helpful!!!

Decided to stay an extra night in Cancun and this small hotel was perfect! Centrally located, facilities were great! Staff was friendly and accommodating. Bar next door was a lot of fun and had live entertainment. Only downside was alcohol is not allowed in the pool area.

The rooms were spacious, the property look good with the exception that they are under construction and fail to mention it. The bed sheets were not changed every day and the cleaning person just limit to pick up the big stuff and make the beds. The staff was very polite, friendly and very helpful.

At the time we booked we were excited about the pool. Once we arrived we saw MAJOR construction to the surrounding area of the pool as well as the room areas. So there was no pool access. It was some banging noises during the night. We were given the option of a refund but that was literally the only hotel in that area so we stayed. The room was very nice. Staff was really great. I adore boutique hotels. I would stay here again just to experience the pool area and the locals. Those things are very important to me.

Food

When checking in we were told NO alcohol allowed on the premises. Not even in our room. The bar next to the pool in the photos, was gone. Replaced by a vending machine. The first day we were woken by demolition work happening in a nearby room. This hotel is being remodelled. No one notified us or warned us. We are on vacation and the whole week was noisy, distuptive and unrelaxing. Day 1 - a 2 inch centipede came up the shower drain during a shower. Day 2 - one of the construction workers walked into our room unannounced. Just opened the door and walked in. Apologozed and left. Day 3 - water shut off for over an hour in thr afternoon. Wifi in room kept dropping. In the evening some guests were drinking and smoking next to the pool. The rules seem to change depending on the staff on duty. Day 4 - Electricity shut off for 2hrs in the evening, for 4 to 6pm. Was given 5 min notice. Wifi dropped all night. TV only works with wifi so it took down the TV. Day 5 - woke up to more demolition. Check out was smooth. Some staff were very nice and accomodating. Others were quiet and never spoke to us beyond the odd nod hello. Location is great for walking around and exploring DT Cancun. Bar next door is loud at night but tolerable from our room. Pool was ok. Amenities were severly lacking. Maybe after they remodel it will be nicer but I REALLY dont appreciate not be warned of the construction. This really effected our vacation.

I loved the room. Large closet with built in drawers and safe, for valuables. Large shower, only, was perfect for me. Large extra living area for work and kitchenette. Plus, lots of windows! The location was great for participating in local activities. The only regret for me, was not getting to try the hotel restaurant due to no hours of operation printed on the menu.

Towels are very poor , cleaning rooms is poor , condition the room poor too , so very poor eve things except the 2 guys who work there ( day and night) thanks

Clean handy to amenities friendly staff 😀

The hotel was good - clean, safe, pleasant staff but disliked Cancun. There was high level of noise from the bikers rock club until 2-3am in mornings.

The whole feel was like a quaint oasis. With the courtyard and cafe in the middle surrounded by the rooms. We felt very safe .

Great staff, very helpful and friendly. Anna assisted us several times with info and directions. Highly recommended!

No es lo q muestran en fotos de internet

A mi me gusto tiene habitaciones amplias, muy limpiasesta muy tranquilo alrededor ademas esta en muy buena zona del centro de cancun. su personal muy amable.

Likes Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Very close to many restaurants, supermarkets, public transportation and medical center and pharmacy. Dislikes There is a bar next door that plays until at least 2am. Hitel is very old with damaged furniture and blue towels. What ever happened to hotel white towels. Not many tours will pick you up at this location since it is off the main strip.

Hotel was safe and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Cafe in restaurant was reasonably priced and had variety. I highly recommend this hotel.

Grand City Hotel was an excellent place to stay, the staff was very friendly and the room very clean and comfortable! The Hotel was very close to a lot of amenities.

Nice city hotel, clean, good location. I wish their food and beverage service hours were available until later. The receptionist was very helpful to set us up with transportation to go different places.

Safe, clean, downtown, close to dining, music, and Parque de las Palapas. Mattresses are on the firm side, pillows are flat, but totally sleepable.

The hotel was cute but my door wouldn't lock so i had to barricade my door at night. Luckily it felt semi safe since you have to go through the locked lobby to get to the rooms.

Todo excelente y muy buena localización

Was a great oasis in downtown Cancun. Roberto from the front desk was so friendly and helpful and really made our stay worthwhile! Will definitely return!

Perfect choice for a quick stay before my flight home. Very very clean, comfortable and spacious rooms, plenty of hot water, no smell in bedroom or bathroom, and quiet location away from city noise. The bed was the best part - medium firm and superior back support - I slept so well! Supermarkets around the corner. The price and service here is exceptional - worth the 17 min walk from Ado. Highly recommend! I will return 100%

Great hotel friendly staff

The atmosphere was very relaxing

Great as always.. Staff ✔ Room ✔ Wi-Fi ✔ Hot water✔ Safe area ✔

Amazing Staff Great A/C Good location Ok WI-FI

The staff was great and the service was also.

BEAUTIFUL small boutique motel... STAFF is AWESOME... SMALL pool.. Good food.. Few selections, limited hours 8am-3pm.. BEDS are too firm for my taste, after a week you will need a massage!! Wi-Fi is nonexistent.. so for my Bloggers/Vloggers, Netflix and chill/YouTube/Binge Watchers/App Movie-TV viewers/Gamers, Digital Nomads/Remote Workers not the service you need. WORSE part Route 666 biker club/bar RIGHT next door with very spirited LIVE BAND can go until 2am during Covid-19 so I cannot imagine what is it like when back to normal life!! All and all.. GREAT for a gateway!!

Only stayed one night after arriving late to Cancun. Bar with music and dinner half block away. 5 minute walk to either Walmart or Chedraui(local market). Staff spoke enough English to assist.

Beds not that comfortable but everything else was good . A bit noisy from the street being busy with traffic .

Very friendly and helpful staff. They speak English as well. I had a pleasant and peaceful stay for 5 days. Pretty landscaping and cute albeit small pool (not heated). Dining/food on premises not currently available. Route 666 rock bar is a few doors down so you will hear the rock bands performing. Amazing deal for the price, you won't be disappointed!

Shower water could have been hotter Water was only like warm Great location and staff friendly

hotel was clean people helpful

Very nice hotel, the location was perfect for us. The staff were very friendly.

Just couple comments: - rooms are very big and comfortable. - staff are very friendly and accommodating. - great location (lots of local food options within walking distance). - internet was not reliable and needs to be improved. I would definitely stay here in the future.

Very clean room. Friendly receptionist, big room, good restaurants around the hotel. Quiet place

価格の割にキレイで、スタッフさんの感じも良く、周辺のことも親切に教えてくれました。

The staff was extremely kind and helpful. The hotel is located very close to a vibrant part of downtown which is way worth the visit (way more than the hotel zone) The rooms are exactly as advertised and very comfortable

The fridge was not cold at all. We requested to change it out. They did not have another fridge available until the next day (the only reason I booked this particular hotel was for use of fridge and microwave). On the first night, my son peed the bedsheets a little (he’s still potty training). We brought the sheets down to the front desk to get new ones, but they have no extra bedsheets!!! We asked them what we were supposed to cover ourselves with overnight? He had no response. I have no idea how a hotel cannot have any spare sheets. They do not have an ice machine either so prepare yourself for warm beverages and sleeping without bedsheets.

Really nice hotel in great location. Front desk and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious.

Friendly staff if planning to stay in Cancun to enjoy parks this hotel location is great ! Close to Bus station.

the location was good, very close to everything lots of restaurants, a Walmart and other mayor stores right around the block.. the rooms were very clean a beautiful shower with glass doors an amply and looks like it has been re-modeled recently, a nice size pool a small outdoor restaurant but the must important thing was the nice employees like family , on my birthday they make me a cake with towels that was beautiful, that little detail took my heart , I will defenetly go back to the beautiful little boutique hotel at a great price..

The room was roomy, comfy and clean for the most part. The shower wall had hair stuck on it- that was gross. We read reviews about the biker bar. The music they played was loud while we walked by but it didn’t bother us at all while we were in the room. I slept soundly without a problem. We liked that everything was walking distance. We recommend the sopes place( in the hopping area) for 18 pesos, if you’re looking for a true local taste of Mexico.

Great location! Great selection of restuarants close by. Exellent staff and overall beautiful hotel!

The room was spacious and very clean. We had the pleasure of hearing the concert from down the street until nearly 4 a.m. We tried to walk to a nearby restaurant but thought we'd be safer driving, which isn't saying a lot about safety in Cancun.

Great hotel.great helpful staff.awesome cleaning staff..good large room .small pool but good for the size of the hotel.walking distance to wallmart .cosco.sams.oxxo.market 28..shopping malls..right in downtown cancun..the only complaint i could have is the bar a couple bulidings away it has a live band that starts at 11 or 12 pm at night and they dont quit till about 3 a.m and there very loud..and thats to bad because its a great hotel...

Was "perfumed", the smell never left, and then about 10 pm an outdoor stage open air next door BLASTED out rock which reverberated throughout Grand City Hotel until 3 ? a.m. Trying to rest up before an early morning flight on a hard bed, it made for an unpleasant night...

Clean room and helpful staff. Located in an industrial area - good for a short stay.

Hotel Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and roomy too.

This is a good hotel if you're returning to Cancún after touring the Yucatán and just need to stay one night and catch a flight in the morning. It's close to shops and restaurants, but far from the beach and hotel district, so without a car it's not worth staying here to enjoy the beach. The hotel is on a busy street, but is quiet enough to sleep at night. Rooms are big, comfortable and clean.

There's a bar next door calling itself The Route 666 Bikers Bar. There is no room in the hotel where you can protect yourself from the night noise.Saturday night was the worst with the live music going until 3 AM. The room was large and at one time would have been considered good. However, it's old now and shows it.

Excelente hotel to stay and close to many places. I will recommend it.

Great little hotel especially for the value. Lovely courtyard with pool & eating area. Beds were comfy....a/c was not very efficient tho. Perfect location though

truly wondeful service :) great location (very near to good and cheap food and 1 block away from bus stop). HOWEVER, super loud bar almost next door so bring ear plugs. no blackout drapes so u might wanna bring a sleep mask.

Cons: The area is not touristy; it is mostly locals. There is a bikers bar that plays extremely loud music two doors down, very late into the night. It looked online as if there was a restaurant and bar by the pool but there was no bar and the restaurant was also only open for breakfast. We also found a cockroach in our bathroom on the first day. Pros: It was inexpensive and they did a nice job of remodeling the rooms and outside. It's fine for a one night cheap crash pad but I wouldn't recommend for a week's vacation.

Great hotel

For a cheap hotel this was very impressive, very clean room, free wifi, breakfast, helpful staff. The location was spot on for anything you wanted, the only couple of niggles were the shower wasn't brilliant and you could hear the biker bar down the road when in had live music on, not much of a problem as we were in there ourselves most nights !

We had a great stay. The location is excellent, easy access to downtown Cancun and to public transportation to the Hotel Zone. Everyone was welcoming and ready to help you in every way.

Didn't get to sleep till 3:30 when band stopped playing. Shower was Luke warm after after a 5 min. wait

The staff was l nice but even though when I booked the room, it said continental breakfast was included, and when arriving it was not.

Spacious rooms with fridge and microwave. Nice pool, friendly staff.

Our room at Grand City was large and included a seating area with fridge and microwave--it felt almost like a studio apartment. It was spotless, and staff were polite and accommodating. The bar/restaurant was closed when we arrived at 9 pm on Fri. night, and the included continental breakfast wasn't yet available when we left at 7 am for a morning trip, so I can't vouch for either of those. The only real problem was the noise level; shortly after going to bed, we heard a live band start to play at the venue next door. Since we were at the end of a row of rooms and adjacent to the next building over, it sounded a bit like the band was playing IN OUR ROOM. I'm glad I brought ear plugs and was otherwise happy to be safely ensconced in such a well-maintained room.

Very noisy all night. Difficult to get rested after flight. Perhaps this is common in downtown area.

The only thing we didnt love is that it was straight across from an ambulance garage so they would co.e out with sirens blaring in the night. Also right next door was a loud dance club so the music kept us up really late. If it would have started before we crawled in bed and fell asleep we would have just went dancing but it just woke us up. The staff was awesome and the place was super clean!

Nice hotel overall. Clean rooms . But needs detailed updates like key card entry. We not in the 90s anymore. Also there is no ICE MACHINE! The shower sucks! Its like taking a shower in the kiddie sprinklers and barely any hot water! Wifi also sucks, its very slow. The refrigerator sucks. Breakfast was dismal at best, I would rather wat bfast elsewhere and pay a little more. Do not use the shampoo they give you in the room, it stinks. Other than that its OK for a cheap stay. Night life and beaches are only a 5 to 8 u.s. dollars cab ride. Supermarket is close by and restaurants are ok. Also little delis are open 24hrs. P.s. do not ask for a bottle water during bfast as they charge for this also.

For a budget hotel, this place is great!!! Rooms are very modern. Nice beds and clean. Close to the major areas in Cancun. For us it was pretty quiet at night. Don't forget you are travelling to party central though, so some noise can be expected! I imagine noise could be worse if you were in the major hotel zone, closer to the big blocks of bars and night clubs.

NO POOL,NO PLACE TO PURCHASE MEALS. BAR NEXT DOOR MUSIC VERY LOUD.BROKEN SLEEP DUE TO LOUD MUSIC.NOT EVEN GOOD ENOUGH 4 HOMELESS.

Clean, comfortable and great location (close to Walmart, markets and restaurants). The staff was very friendly, professional and helpful. I heard a little bit noise from a nearby bar in late evening but my whole family, including seniors and young kids, was OK with that. Overall I highly recommend this small but well managed hotel!

Was good, the personal is petty good, just the music next door was loud and the drapery for me was to light, but overol was great.

I've stayed at Grand City in the past and was pleased to see that its standards of excellent service continues. Yes, the noise level from a nearby establishment is loud but knowing this I was prepared with noise reducing plugs and all was well. The service, the room size, the friendly and professional staff, all at an excellent price made my stay comfortable and relaxing. I highly recommend this small but very well managed hotel.

Awesome possum. But the air conditioning was leaking.

Moises (staff from Hotel) was very friendly and nice but the other guy there was not friendly, he was not welcoming and he was just rude. The room was always clean, it was big, it had a microwave, a small refrigerator, air conditioning, and great beds. The only thing was that the sink faucet was very loose and very little water came out but other than that it was all great. The hotel over all was small (in shape of a square) with a small swimming pool. The location was great, close to market 23, market 28, las palapas park, Walmart, Sams Club and other convenient local stores. Another thing is that around 11 pm the bar next to it would start to play music and it was loud but the songs were nice and they weren't nothing like heavy rock, metal (thank God because I don't like that kind of music).

We only stayed one night therefore I don't have a lot of feedback. The staff was good the room was clean. The are is very busy and there was party going on somewhere and the music was super loud. The pace is very good and the price is even better.

Close to downtown Cancun, where the locals hang out. New hotel, with free parking and free breakfast only to paying adults (we had to buy breakfast for our kids). The rooms are large. There's a hard rock bar in the corner of the street and I could hear the drummer losing the beat at around 2am on a Saturday night. Other than that, friendly staff and very comfortable room. The pool is small, but it was a short stay and didn't have a chance to enjoy it.

Clean, comfortable and convenient location. Friendly staff helped with advice on nearby restaurants.
