The room was small and I didn't get the room that I booked
Location
I called the hotel desk to advise staff of my delay in arrival. I was verbally abused. The staff person rudely refused to share his name when politely asked. A very hostile and unprofessional experience.
they dont respect clients, i ordered the hotel, but i never enter it, as they dont allow me change the enter data!
The staff were friendly and always ready to help if I had a question for them. The location of the hostel is in the heart of Kowloon, with a lot of dining and entertainment options in the area.
It’s easy to travel in HK, great city
I would not call this a hotel, but a hostel. And it’s probably the smallest room I’ve ever stayed in. There was only one elevator and my room was on the 15th floor. There was always a lineup and a wait to get upstairs. In the bathroom you had to stand over the toilet to have a shower. It seemed to be clean, but because of the age of the place, it didn’t really look like it. Even though the bed was small, I can say that it was comfortable. Will I stay here again probably not.
My recent stay at this hotel, though with snug rooms and compact bathrooms, was surprisingly delightful. The clever design maximized space efficiency without compromising comfort. The room was fairly clean and had moderate amenities. Despite the size, the room did the job. It was equipped with the needed amenities such as your shampoo and body wash and a plug to charge your devices. Ultimately, if you value a cheap yet central location and don't mind a tight room then this is for you.
저렴한거 말고는 별거 없어요
Is good in such price, but the heater work intermittent.
欲をいえばキリがないですが価格を考えれば許容範囲です。
Room was smaller than I expected. Service was excellent.
The staff were very accomodating. Assisted with the checkin expeditiouslly
Entry to the hotel was not pleasant. The check in desk is at a different tower. The downstairs is a very just marketplace with people trying to seek you something. Small elevator and very tight spaces.
Good comparable to the price. Location is very convenience.
Ive been there 3 times all togetger the girl staff very friendly Polite and always smiling easy to talk to and you can have a good laugh with them ideal place if you are on a budget well recommended 👍
The property is nothing like it is advertised. The rooms air con was broken which left the room unbearably hot and the thin lacked all of the amenities advertised as well as being in a shoddy run down condition.
This hotel should increase their cleanliness in the room. Should change the bedsheet. Should put perfume as the smell is bad
You get what you have paid for... Rooms are small but HKG is known for it. Stayed in double room. Budget friendly and easy access to Tsim Sha Tsui station for roaming around. Ideal for backpackers.
Totally basic and room was too smal for 3people. We could hardly move around
I will not choose this hotel again :( the room is too small
Life is to small , long line , deserve for the price
Awful. Avoid Chungking mansion like the plague! Constantly tormented by indians wanting to sell rubbish to you. Very undesireable people hanging around the lobby area.
I reserved for 3 twins room. But when I get it just like single bed room which is very uncomfortable to stay for two.
dont book this hotel its a scammer and thief
I checked in after 1AM, due to delayed flight, and a room was there for me. It was small, but clean, and I just loved it. Don't complain because it's not a comfort of regular hotels. This is a very special mansion in Hong Kong.
Every room is going to be small in Chung King Mansions, but the bed was comfortable, and the toilet was a decent size. Downside was the shower hose - tucked in the corner, over the toilet, you had to hold it to use it. Housekeeping was excellent. Good choice of fan or A/C.
Only setback is the location and the service elevator...but the rest are OK...i mean for HK stay this place is by far the best place I've been. And yes will definitely recommend to my friends. Staff are very courteous and polite!!!
The booking is discounted, which means you won't get a refund for cancelling no matter what you do. The hotel itself is located in a shady building full of thieves and foreigners. For your own safety, pay the extra money to stay in a different building.
Room was very clean. About the only positive I'm afraid. The room was a DOUBLE, but was tiny: Barely room for anything other than the bed. No road noise because it's on the seventh floor; but slamming doors day and night were terrible. Wifi was extremely iffy and would simply not work at certain times (particularly the wee hours of the morning). The most disturbing thing, and the thing that keeps me from rating this place higher despite the rest, is the RUDENESS of the guy at the front desk. Inexcusable.
The hotel staff didn't care at all for customer care, rooms too small and uncomfortable. Is a one night stay hotel; not a good room for the value you pay.
Not a good option rooms are too small, uncomfortable, they don't care at all about client care, also no too friendly. The money you pay is not worth, you can get a cheaper room around.
One word: Gross.
The hotel staff were awesome! They were very accommodating and were able to speak the English language. The advantageous location provides travellers easy access to sites in both Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. Despite one of the elevators being upgraded, staff maintained accessibility to this part of the busy Chunking Mansions. It was a smaller room, but a clean one and central starting point for amazing Hong Kong!
One of the lifts out took 45 mins to leave Very very small room ok for 1 night
The rooms are very small but like my fiancé was saying is that we’ll be spending most of our time out and about so no need for a big fancy hotel room. The room is clean with all the necessities one would expect. For 5 nights of going everywhere and having fun, the price of the room can’t be beat!
Minimum space. Only upside was it is fairly clean.
opposite Tsim Sha Tsui Mrt station exit E and near many shopping places.Walk 5-10 mins to Star Ferry Pier.Free Nescafe with hot water.
Small room for 1-2 nights (e.g. transit). Location near quay, good views around.
small room, crowded lift, but then, okay for the price offered.
Be aware, this is Hong Kong, so you get what you pay for. Good location for shopping, metro, Starbucks. My advice is try to avoid using elevator if you can as you may have to wait several minutes. I used fire escape for my daily commute up and down (I stayed on 7th floor). When checking out, negotiate prior so you don't have to lug your stuff up to the 15th floor where reception is. Overall, I would recommend for budget conscious people who are just looking for a place to sleep.
Good people work at this place. The location is nice. Everything else is from bad to worse. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. 1. First Finding this place is a change 2. The elevator is a nightmare it often takes 20 min of waiting to get in and is always packed like a cane of sardines this is only the way up the way down is something a didn’t have the patience to expensive is just 10+ levels and a labyrinth that takes you to a dark back alley for the final 3 levels. 3. Rooms are uninspiring, narrow and Quite awkward. If you are on a budget and the price is 25$ Or less it is probably a good deal and an adventure but if you want to be productive and come out rested or potentially invite someone to you room this is not your place. Have an amazing time in Hang Kong!
The hotel/hostel charged me with an additional fee amounting to almost the same cost of my original booking for one extra person when the additional person was only a child and no extra bed was even needed. I find this absolutely ridiculous and will never recommend them to others as they will rip you off! Never coming back to this hostel ever again.
not what i asked for, twin room so tiny....very misleading. after a few days gone, i asked the receptionist IF can we change to another room as someone had checked out...she was very rude and said why you telling me now after few days passed..as i didn't know the other room was bigger than mine. she was still rude and said i could swap over in 5 minuits..we never then botherd with that philipine woman again. suppose she was leaving that bigger room for her philipine mates. in future will pay a bit more and get decent hotel......AND NOT A GUEST HOUSE.!!
Members of the hotel staff are very accommodating and cheerful, especially Marge who made sure that our stay will be a pleasant one. Hotel is located very near to MTR stations and nice shopping centers. Room is small but very tidy. Enjoyed our stay.
Very friendly staff, the location is super! It is our first time stay at this hotel, the style is quite different from the normal hotel. The lift is a bit of wait to be up and down. Guests are quite friendly when it come to share the lift. Good things, they have two lift, one for even number, one for odd number.
Room is tiny on the 16th floor only accessible by a lift which has long queues of people shower is over the toilet no chance of washing. This is the first room that my wife don't fit and she is only 4 foot 10 so it's not fit for small people .it did have wi fi and air conditioning .put the tv on the ceiling so that u can watch it
We were not able to chk in because they want us to pay 1600hk$,when i booked i put 4adult and 2 child ages6&9 ,recommended family room and 2nights for 4400 ,but in the system just put 2 guests so the hotel told us to pay extra ,i want to cancel and just refund my payment but refused ,in short i wasted time and money
No hot nor drinking water very small room no tissue no cabinet to put your things
Holy cow it was small!! I have never seen such a small room in my life!! the picture is completely misleading. we couldn't come into the room together. One of us had to get on the bed and so the other person could get in the room. The bed was something between a single and a full. Our luggage had to go under the bed, the door couldn't even open fully.
Hotel is located in a buildifng floor 7 which is share with other "hotels" as well, this should be called a Hostal not Hotel. Pictures on website does not describes room as it really is. Very dissatisfied and disappointing.
The check-in process was interesting because where we checked in and where we stayed were two different places. I wouldn't call this place a hotel. The room is small. The bathroom/toilet is also small. And the elevators took forever. The area is pretty shady and full of solicitors. The plus is that it's very close to the station and close to a lot of shops and restaurants.
The hotel messed up my entire travel experience at Hong Kong. Very rude owner and managers. This hotel is very close to the red light areas of Hong Kong. Please do not go here with family. i wish somebody had told me about this earlier.
Hong Kong is a crowded place. The room was small, but it worked. AC, fridge, safe etc. A bit hard to find though. Directions of Chung King Mansions 15 th floor might have helped. Cal
Cheap and Near the Tourist spots of HK Free water Microwace Refrigerator Everyday housekeeping
The tiniest room and bathroom I have ever seen. Definitely not fit for 2 people. Only a single duvet for a double bed. Cockroach in room. Building is dirty.
First day stay was not happy due not provide twin sharing bed
I enjoyed my stay... It is indeed comfortable... I was booked for Canada Hotel and had been assigned at D'Red Loft its inconnection with the hotel... All was great... Specially Karen the staff who cleans our room... Shes very helpful and accommodating... I recommend it to any one specially for first time.travlers... Thank you for a wonderful stay
Good location but room is tiny and the waiting of lift so long times. But so far it is okay for budget hotel...............
The hostel is located in a building with many small hostel on every floor, which can be annoying as there is 16 floors and only 2 elevators. It's almost a capsule hostel, as the room is basically the Bed and a 1 meter square lobby. If you have a lot of luggage, forget about this one! The bathroom is also very small, with the shower over the toilet and sink. The space is pretty limited. But remember that this is Hong Kong! If you want a bigger room, the price is going to be much higher, specially at that location. The room itself was clean and the bed confortable per Asian standard. .
The Canada Hotel is a well-run guesthouse in the Chungking Mansions building. I can not fault the Canada Hotel itself for quality as the staff were helpful and polite, the rooms clean and well kept, and the units themselves were well-appointed (air conditioning, electric fan, a TV with a smattering of stations, and a hair dryer). With respect to tightness of quarters, we were in a "family" unit with a 1x double + 1x single bed and there was exactly enough floor space left over for the three of us to stand in a huddle (maybe 3 sq. ft?). Literally the smallest and most cramped place you'll probably ever rent. What is severely questionable and a personal safety risk is the Chungking Mansions building itself. The electrical wiring in the building is EXTREMELY poor and is a massive fire hazard. The place is ready to burst into flames without a second's notice. The quality of wiring is the Do-It-Yourself type you would expect in the villages of developing countries. Fire exits are often blocked and many fire doors are intentionally left open, which would only help spread a fire, potentially trapping resides inside. It's a firetrap waiting for tragedy. No exaggeration. There are a host of other reasons why I would strongly recommend against the Chungking Mansions building, but this alone would be enough to warn others from ever staying there. Please consider consulting the Wikipedia entry for "Chungking Mansions" for more information about the building and what to expect.
The room is kinda small but it's okay if you're on a budget. Good for light travelers coz no space to put for huge luggage ..
Karen, Johnny, AJ and the other filipina lady who welcomed us in the first day we checked in were very polite and courteous. They are very welcoming, informative and helpful.
We had to leave after 2 nights. It was impossible to fit 2 people in the room...for example all you could do was put your suitcase under the bed and take it out and place it on the bed when you needed a change of clothes. The only way you could dress was one person at a time- either the second person needed to step into the toilet, or leave the room or lie transverse at one end of the bed to minimize their area on the bed and maximize the area left for the person dressing to place their suitcase on the bed and open it. This is nobody's fault- the building itself is simply not suited to house hotels i.e. any hotel in Chung King mansions and in the vicinity of Nathan Road is going to be the same. My guess is that Chung King Mansions was designed as tenement housing for poorer people in the 1960s Hong Kong, but the economy improved so much few actual people live there now. The rooms are essentially bedrooms of an overall 3 bedroom apartment of the era. The hotel management can do nothing to improve the situation....the whole complex would need to be knocked down and rebuilt to improve it. The building is now inhabited by people from India and Pakistan- they are actually very nice just selling stuff in their native manner and they are not intimidating. In fact, the only trouble makers we saw where Chinese girls- as we came back one night the police were arresting some very rough looking Chinese teenager girls while trying to hold back the merchants who had rallied to the aid
Stay in the hotel near washing machine. the smell of clorox bleach always filled our room. Not very comfortable.
There is a flipina named Karen who cleaned our room, she's very good i cleaning. Superb.
Hard to find the placement and surrounding area of the hotel is dirty
The rooms are very small, they keep it clean and every day there is a cleaning lady doing the room. Location is very convenient, close to the metro station, a lots to do in the area.
The place was very difficult to find. There is a Canadian Hostel in the same building block. The room was semi clean but the towels and sheets were very dirty and old.
the room showed on internet was totally different with the real ones. I have no idea why they would call themselves hotel. We have booked a double room and the bed was literally a single bed. The first room gaven was literally a store room and no window in it. At the end we topped up some money to get a better twin room with more space and brightness. The staff was kind enough to help us with luggage and moving around but the manager wasnt really kind. They dont really care whether you are happy with the rooms or not. But this is hongkong the rooms are very small for the price you paid. I was surprise they have daily housekeeping service but the towels and bed sheet are really dirty. Its always with stain. A/C worked perfectly and the phone works too! The bathroom is clean.
This hotel is good but the staff doesn't so fine and funny for consumer.!!!
Nice for sleep only
Me and my family had a great stay at the Canada Hotel. it was a peaceful and safe sleeping space outside the busy streets of hongkong tsim tsa tsui. The room was cleaned everyday and we were provided with plenty of drinking water everyday and a clean bathing towels. I love the water supply and the heater, although we were situated at the 16th floor the water pressure is still strong and you can enjoy a good bathe after a long day of walking and touring around hongkong. I would like to make mention of grace and nina. they were very sincere with the service and the work that they provide. grace will surely greet you whe you see her in the halls and she is very efficient, always keeping herself busy. also, the owner we spoke to granted our request to check out at a later time with a discounted price. he was very pleasant and nice to talk to. keep it up. will surely come back here and recommend it to friends who would want to visit hongkong. ps. would suggest that the reception would be more spacious.
During my stay we paid $130/day.the location and hotel ( its not suppose to call hotel) facility are worse,Well if you want to be upset with the rate just try and you will spoil your vacation.
Trust me!!! Walk in the arcade and go straight to the first lifts on the left. Go to LVL 15. The longer you walk around with a blank look on your face the worse you wil feel. I stayed there with my wife for 3 nights. When we arrived we were harassed by all the local scum trying sell us - "something special, hashish, marijuana, copy Rolex, copy bag, need room, need taxi, suits we have the best suits". After this we were thinking up an escape strategy. Before we knew it our 3 nights were over. if you can look past this- and are ok to sleep in a clean- but, VERY small room withVERy small bed it's ok. Don't stay here if you are any bigger then 90kg or 6ft. You almost won't fit.
The rooms are small but very clean. Private bathroom, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, towels and have aircon are provided. The staff is super nice and ready to help if needed. Even though there's no kitchen, they let you use their fridge, microwave and hot water. I would defenetley recommend!
he guest house is clean and affordable.. nice one for a short stay the staff are friendly
The location is so close to tsim tsa shui mtr station, the room is very small and the staffs are very helpful..
The staff are friendly and helpful. I would stay again if visit Hong Kong.
This hotel was falsely advertsed. First of all, it should be categorised as a hostel, not a hotel. Here is a list of things that you need to address with the owners of this dump. The room was claustrophobic. There was a raised platform with a shoddy, thin mattress that served as the bed. Under the bed, the hotel owners were storing other people's luggage. There was an ensuite with a small toilet, a small sink, and a shower head that was over the toilet. No bathtub as advertised. There was no television. There are no restaurants, bars or lounges that are within the hotel's premises. There was no fireplace. There was no coffee/tea maker. There was no phone in the room. There was no in room safe. There was no minibar. Need I go on. You should stop your affiliation with this hostel or accurately advertise what it has to offer.
Great saving when booking with Canada Hotel. The staff are so nice, friendly, and helpful. Great location.
Upon arrival, booking was for single room specified with a child and told us it will not fit us so i was forced to pay extra hkd 460 to get a family room. so frustrated and because it was not supposed to be an additional expenses i paid by credit card and additional 3% on top of the price. Was so tired from a long flight and so frustrated euth the outcome.
Just a visit rooms were small but work will front desk excellent all Philippine front desk close to transit
If your from the Philippines this is your place as a lot of them work there great service close to everything
Pros : Affordable, near to MTR, wifi stable. Cons : Dirty, unsafe, alot prostitutes, very small room, staff is rude, only got 1 lift to access to lift level, 1 lift only can fit 4-6pax max, waiting of lift can take up to 15mins at times.
The worst neighbourhood you can ever find. Please don't ever go to this hotel or any such cheap hotel nearby. Very bad room condition and the worst part is that this place is surrounded by very dangerous Indian people. I am telling this even though I'm Indian myself. Not at all safe for females. The only good thing about this location is that it is very close to the Tsim Sha Tsui station. But really really not worth it.
The Canada Hotel is a budget hotel in a very high priced city. That said, it is the cleanest budget hotel I know worldwide. The staff is great. The rooms are actually larger than other HKG budget hotels. Their internet is super. The downside is entering the building and the elevator situation. You have to run a gauntlet of sleazy touts as you enter the building. While they are not dangerous, they are annoying. The one elevator serving the odd numbered floors is small and populated with some seeding looking characters. Everything is closely monitored so I don't feel unsafe, but every ride is an adventure. I have stayed here in the past and I will stay here again. I recommend it to anyone looking for a great budget hotel in HKG. If you compare, you will see what I mean. See you there.
Small room but it's nice and clean I like this hotel....the service is good especially the staffs they are friendly absolutely we will stay again in Canada hotel next time thanks to Adora and Harry
There is no point in paying more for a larger/nicer hotel room; you will be given a much smaller/plain room on arrival. As usual, the counter staff said that their boss owns many properties in the area and brought us from Canada hotel in chungking mansion (what we booked) to mulberry hotel in mirador mansion. The good thing was the surroundings of mirador mansion seems cleaner and safer and the lifts were much faster vs chungking mansion's. The bad thing was the hotel room wasn't like the room that we booked. It was the kind we didn't want. We wanted a much spacious room for three persons (there's only two of us) so we booked a more expensive bigger room. Who knows we were brought to a very small room, with space hardly sufficient for walking after placing our luggages. I'm sure the room was much cheaper than what we paid for. We gave up on the idea of reasoning with them as we checked in quite late around 7pm plus and were quite tired and we're just staying for one night, so didn't want additional waiting time or unnecessary trouble in such area. There were small cockroaches in the small bathroom but it's nt really a problem for us cause we just flush them away with water. Overall its decent plain looking, with aircon, fan and free wifi tt's nt bad. Staffs are friendly. Alright for non-big-sized ppl with non-big-sized baggages and backpackers.
It was nice, comfortable, typical Hong Kong size. Worked great for us.
The room was a bit small for 2 person. Other than that, everything was great!
Why Canada? Well when you lie awake from jet-lag in their tiny but modest rooms, with brown sheets and a cheap but cozy duvet, it’s a question you might try to answer. At first thought it could be but a poignant statement referencing Canada's open door policy on immigration. Chungking itself is a curry of cultures without any discrimination insight. Within the tiny elevators that bring you up to your room on the 15th floor one might encounter just about anyone. I’ve seen them all, oversized Russian prostitutes, broke American backpackers, lively Ethiopian tourists and every other nationality out there except for one. The Hong Kong native is most obviously absent but their country bumpkin mainland neighbor are there in full force. Enter Chungking and you are transported into a charming little India where the rotti is always fresh and a hot cheap shave is only a floor away. However it’s not just India that comes to mind but also a 7/11 corner store in Harlem or a trashy bazaar in the Middle East. Overall the Canada Hotel is hygienic, quiet, but definitely not unsoiled from the hodgepodge of tourists knocking at it’s door, but then again you wouldn’t want it to be. The management is friendly and their rooms are well priced and although I can’t say if the name of the place is just for marketing or for a higher power, I can say that it’s nicest place you'll find among the chaos that is Chungking and by far the most colorful that Hong Kong has to offer.
This is the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed. Actually it only has the space for the bed. However, considering its price and good location. It's fair.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone .worst service .envoirnment and unpleasant . It is not a hotel is a mansions .i booked for ten days stay but after my one week stay I moved out of the hotel .i strongly recommend you should not list this hotel in your listing. Very disgisuing. And worst still I could not even get my refund back .
though the hotel is accessible to most of the tourist spots in HK and other stores in the downtown, but the hotel is not that so good, too small.. and they dont have table inside the room.. the CR is too small also..
The hotel, the building, the neighbourhood were unacceptably dirty. We decided to move to another accomodation... Crearly they did not want to refund a penny!
Despite having been backpacking all around South East Asia and having experienced a number of hotels and hostels, this was our most unpleasant stay ever... Dirty, ugly, horrible neighbourhood, the bed did not fit me (i am 182 cm), it was dirty and i have found hair on my pillow and the tiny bathroom was equally dirty. 20 minutes waiting to get to the room after 9pm as there are just 2 lifts (elevators for 4 people maximum) to get to one of the 18 floors, with hundreds of equally ugly guest houses and hostels. One of our friend decided to go to another hotel, I was too tired and not feeling well otherwise i would have certainly moved to a decent accomodation too! Don't go, and if you go don't expect it to be an hotel nor a 2 stars accomodation!
Stayed here two years ago. Even better now. Rooms are super clean with new with tile everywhere. Both fan and A/C. Excellent use of space in the very small rooms, but this is a low cost hotel in Hong Kong. My room was 2.5 meters square which included a double bed and toilet/shower, and this is standard for HK budget hotels. The difference here is that it is clean and well maintained. The building entrance and ground floor is filled with business kiosks, touts and "interesting" characters, but I've never had a problem. Feels weird, so just walk through without stopping. Always a line for the elevators (one for odd and other for even floors. The service at the hotel is very good. Desk is helpful. Registration on !5th Floor with some rooms on other floors. Don't worry. They will help you to your room. David did that for me. When I checked out, he was waiting to clean my room. He noticed that I left my camera on the bed. Thank you, David for the excellent service as we all need out cameras. I forgot to mention that all the hallways and entrances are monitored by video cameras. Hope this helps.
Very nice hotel in good location; helpful staff, clean and very reasonably price.d
