Mir hat am wunderschönen Boutiquehotel ☀️ Küsnacht alles sehr gefallen: 1. mein sehr schickes und unkonventionelles Zimmer mit diversen Sonnenmotiven und der Innenraumtreppe zu einem Podest mit Sitzgelegenheit am Gaubenfenster 2. die traumhafte Lage direkt am Zürichsee 3. das wundervolle Ambiente des Pavillon Restaurants mit Seeblick und das sehr ansprechende Á-la-cart-Frühstück 4. die sehr zugewandten Hotel-Angestellten 5. die gelebte Synthese zwischen Moderne & Tradition, zwischen Kunst & Geschichte, zwischen Ruheanker & Stadtnähe und zwischen Kulinarik & See-Erleben Ich würde jederzeit wieder sehr gern im Boutiquehotel ☀️ übernachten.

das Zimmer zur Straße hin war extrem laut und wegen der hohen Temperaturen draußen fast zum Ersticken

Overall common facilities are excellent. Location right in front of the lake, a private garden with direct access for swimming in the lake make is very special. Staff at reception were all very friendly and helpful, Francesco in particular

On arrival we spotted a spider web (with spider) in a corner of the roof. It can happen, of course, but denotes lacking quality control. Breakfast is included and served at your table. We stayed 4 days and it was only the last morning when we received exactly what was ordered. The other days, the whole order-taking, preparation and serving sequence was very disorganised and certainly not at the level of what is advertised (and charged!).

Lovely staff very helpful ahead of making booking and room was nice - rubber ducks for kids were a super cute touch

Parking was a little chaotic. They did put us in a room that had stairs leading up which is a little trickier with two small kids who they were aware of us having.

Alles war Wunderschön . Zimmer mit Super Aussicht und Hochzeit Romantische Saal war Fantastisch Hochzeitstag war unvergesslich. Wir haben unsere Hochzeit gefeiert . War sehr schön . Vor 3 Jahren habe ich meine 50 Jahre Geburtstag gefeiert . Beides Mal war wunderbar . Liebe Grüße und wir kommen gerne wieder . Dass schönste Ort am Zürichsee

Beste Lage am Zürisee. Sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal! Sehr saubere Zimmer mit allem was man braucht.

Eigentlich nichts… Klimaanlage wäre ein Plus, aber nicht weiter tragisch.

The room I got was not the corner room I reserved It was very small and being right under the roof it had a temperature of 37 degrees during the night with only a small fan which didn’t do any good

Das Hotel lebt von der sensationellen Lage direkt am Züricher See.

Unpersönliche, sehr knappe Begrüßung, bei 37 Grad Hitze wäre ein kühlendes Tuch oder Getränk wirklich angebracht, der Parkservice war jedoch sehr freundlich und gut organisiert. Das Zimmer 313 für diesen Preis (>400 SFR.) extrem klein, keine Kaffeemaschine, im Bad müsste Fuge am Eingang zwingend erneuert werden, keine Klimaanlage (war uns aber bekannt). Frühstück etwas unkoordiniert, ab sehr gute Qualität ( bis auf Latte Macchiato- warum mit Kakao Pulver obendrauf??) und traumhaftes Ambiente auf der Terrasse mit Blick auf den See. Check-out ebenfalls unpersönlich, keine Frage ob der Aufenthalt gefallen hat, kein ‘gute Weiterreise’ kein Wasser für die Reise. Das kenne ich von Hotels in dieser Preisklasse aber ganz anders! Wirklich schade, das könnte und müsste besser gehen.

ידענו מראש שלא יהיה מזגן וזה בסדר גמור מבחינת השקיפות מול המלון אבל בחום הנוכחי זה קרוב ללא אפשרי בכלל לישון בטמפרטורה הזאת בלי מזגן. אולי כדאי לחשוב להוסיף לקראת הקיץ הבא. כך החוויה תהיה מושלמת באמת.

Hotel with excellent location on the lake and view. Next to train station. Older building well maintained with excellent brand new renovated restaurant with great personable staff on the expensive side. Breakfast is a plus. Outside self service at Zurich prices. Front desk staff could be a little more polished in morning. I arrived early at 10 ( after a long flight) and understand no room available. 1130 was mentioned, but ALL rooms were released at 1500. My friend who had to change room during his stay was not given the first room in morning and had to wait till 1500. Not what to expect for this type of hotel....."we follow policies" handed a beverage voucher " you can have a bier or wine " at 10 ??? Room small with nice view, good fan, clean bathroom. With these high temperature, provide free cold water and not a carafe of tap water !! cheap . Coat hangers not for a 4* ! cheap. Maid on floor very friendly and thankful. Not back at these prices and for the service.

Its location

It was the hottest week ever in Zurich. I had therefore booked the only room in that hotel with an A/C which was still broken when we arrived. The room was unbearable hot. The receptionist was the worst I ever encountered anywhere in any hotel. She insisted on charging at the least the first night. Only after intervention by Booking our reservation was cancelled for free and we moved to an other hotel.

My husband and I recently spent six nights at the Romantik Seehotel Sonne in Küsnacht. It was our second stay; the first having been in October of 2025. My husband studies at the C.G. Jung Institute, which is within walking distance of the hotel. We were at this hotel again so he could attend classes in person. It was interesting to return to the Sonne Hotel last month, as it's changed a bit since our first visit. When we visited the hotel last fall, the restaurant and biergarten were closed because they were being renovated. We had breakfast and one dinner in the Stübli. During our visit last month, the Stübli was closed for renovation, and the restaurant and biergarten were newly opened. I was very impressed with the Pavilion restaurant, which offers both excellent cuisine and an inviting ambiance. Service is friendly and professional, and my husband and I both enjoyed the breakfasts, one lunch and one dinner we had there. The breakfasts were especially impressive, with a huge array of items offered at the table, rather than at a buffet. My husband and I both loved the egg dishes. My favorite was the Egg Royal; his was the Arme Ritter. The biergarten is also a real treat, especially at this time of year. There's plenty of seating near the lake, good food options, and flowing drinks. I also liked the guitar player who came every evening and played for the crowds. Be sure to bring some tip money for him! We stayed in a junior suite room, as we did during our first visit. This time, we were in room 410, which is a very large and unique room that offers views of the lake. The first time we visited the Sonne Hotel, we stayed in room 310, which has larger windows, but isn't quite as unique as room 410 is. The ceiling features exposed beams that show the interesting architecture of the building. The bathroom opens into the room, although there are cubicles for the shower and toilet. This arrangement doesn't bother me, but could be a problem for anyone who expects total privacy in the bathroom. The hotel is not air conditioned, so although there are lake breezes, and a fan is provided, room 410 does get very warm in summer. Also, to get into the room the door, one has to climb up and down a short flight of steps. This might be very challenging for anyone with mobility problems. Housekeeping did a great job, and got the room cleaned on a timely basis. I really appreciated that, since I was mostly hanging around the hotel all day. I really enjoyed the lakeside sunbathing and swimming area. I spent my afternoons there, enjoying the refreshing lake and watching people enjoy all it has to offer. The area has shady trees and offers a first rate view of the ferry stop. However, there were a lot of private events going on during the week I visited, so about half of the area was cordoned off. Also, umbrellas were in somewhat short supply, and no one attends the area. So, there were a few times when people left their personal belongings on loungers under the trees and disappeared. As a fair skinned person who wants to avoid sunburn, that was a little disappointing. It would have been nice to have a towel service, as well, although I brought my own beach towels because I figured they would not be provided. The hotel is very close to the train station, which makes it easy to avoid bringing a vehicle. We brought a car on our first visit, but this time, we took the train. Other than some concern about the heat affecting the train schedules, using the train was very convenient and easy. There is a hill on the way to and from the hotel, so again, something to think about for anyone who might have mobility issues. Overall, we enjoyed our second stay at the Romantik Seehotel Sonne. I'm sure we'll have opportunities to visit again, as my husband continues his studies. It will be a pleasure to return!

Sonne exceeded our expectations. The rooms are well-appointed, quiet, and spotlessly clean—a true retreat. The dining experience was equally impressive: fantastic food paired with impeccable service. We especially loved the lakeside garden and the newly renovated Pavilion restaurant. Do not miss the lemon sorbet—it was absolutely divine! My top recommendation：set aside a full day just to soak it all in—swim in the lake, lounge by the water, and do nothing but relax. It's pure therapy.

Super Lage, sehr schöner Ruhebereich am See, Frühstück auf Terasse mit Bedienung sehr entspannt

Baustelle, weil die Handwerker direkt vor den Zimmerfenstern gearbeitet haben den ganzen Tag.

Sehr schöne Lage am See. Sehr nettes Personal und wir durften etwas früher einchecken und somit hatten wir keinen Stress uns für das Hochzeitsfest unserer Nichte umzuziehen.

No Aircon. Had a fan which helped. They were renovating at the time so dusty and noisy but this can’t be helped. We didn’t let it distract from the stay

Wir konnten erst Punkt 15h einchecken Und waren 3 Minuten vorher dort. Die Reception Dame war zu verbissen nicht sehr gastfreundlich. Sonst war das Personal sehr gastfreundlich.

My only 1 thing I would suggest is air conditioning in the rooms and not tall fan

Missing air conditioning or ventilation, it was too hot in the room and , if opening windows, too loud during the night from the street.

It's a very nice hotel, just next to the lake-side café, the amenities were amazing, the room was spacious and extremely clean.

I got a street-facing room, so I could hear a minor noise from the cars driving by throughout the night (it's not a very small residential street unfortunately). I assume this wouldn't be an issue at all on the other side of the corridor as otherwise the location is very peaceful.

The location is on Lake Zurich and is adjacent to a beautiful park and beach area. It is walkable to restaurants, grocery stores and the train. A huge bonus is the airport is a short 25 minute train ride with no transfers! You are able to catch the ferry in front of the hotel. It is an easy way to explore the lake and the very historic towns. We enjoyed a day trip to Rapperswils. Breakfast was part of our room rate and was delicious! Unfortunately, we were only able to enjoy it one time because of an early flight home. The room was newly remodeled and very spacious. The hotel has bath salts and sachets that smell amazing. This was a great touch.

The property was under construction so there was a noise factor. This was not something that would prevent us from staying again or highly recommending the hotel to others. It was just unfortunate timing.

location is excellent and in summer, it must be fantastic! Easy access to the city without being in the city.

We had the top floor room. I was nice, lots of space. One bed in a loft situation. Room was very warm.

Perfectly located for ferry and train. Close to Zurich but in a small village. Lots of nice gardens near yhe lake and cafes and restaurants close by. Breakfast is very good and the in house restaurant also very good for wvening meals

Like everywhere in Switzerland it is not cheap

Posizione sul lungo lago, edificio storico molto bello e ben arredato. La camera piccola ma molto carina. ambiente della colazione molto accogliente, staff gentilissimo. Anche lo staff della reception. Al check out è stata offerta una confettura al rabarbaro, molto apprezzata.

la camera era caldissima nonostante non ci fosse acceso il riscaldamento. Non si potevano tenere aperte le finestre a causa del rumore proveniente dalla strada. La mattina seguente mi è stato detto che avrebbero potuto accendere il raffreddamento se lo avessi chiesto. colazione: abbastanza varia, qualità soddisfacente. Trovo sempre strano non trovare mai prodotti senza lattosio, soprattutto a questi livelli.

Super schön, gute Lage alles hat uns gefallen. Frühstück sehr gut. Ich habe da Geburtstag gefeiert und wurde eine kleine Aufmerksamkeit vorbereitet.

Really lovely location. Right by the ferry pontoon and you can see the train station from the hotel. Very easy to get to.

The weather was lovely and we wanted to eat our breakfast outside but this wasn’t possible. The outside terrace was lovely but the menu was quite limited so after two meals we ran out of options and we didn’t want to go inside and eat in the restaurant. Food options in the restaurant were expensive.

I stayed at the Sonne for a special birthday. We were kindly given an upgrade of a larger room, as well as a bottle of Prosecco and some chocolates! The view of the lake was stunning - we could watch the boats coming and going. We took our dog with us. A dog bed, bowls and a present for the dog were provided, as well as suggestions on where to take the dog for a walk (a lakeside park just a few steps away). Breakfast was served in a charming, historic room with portraits on the walls. The breakfast was excellent. The room was very comfortable. All in all, a lovely stay.

The views over the lake and mountains were brilliant. The restaurant and bar service were excellent. Even though renovations were going on they kept us in a different area. Unaffected by noise or building work. Comfortable and very friendly and helpful. We were there in the winter but would love to go again with the outside terrace being open.

Der Service im Restaurant perfekt, Das Frühstücksbüffet ausgezeichnet. Alle Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Mein Wagen wurde unter eine Platane geparkt. Beim öffnen des Kofferraums wurde durch Kontakt mit den Ästen ein Kratzer an der Heckklappe verursacht.

Al momento è in ristrutturazione e quindi un po limitato. Inoltre la camera non era come nelle foto. Mancava spazio e un tavolino.

Even though there are major renovations happening, the hotel still ran smooth. The staff were super.

Some of the parking bays were closed off on the Sunday evening. Maybe it was to do with building works, but we struggled to park that one night.

Soggiornare in uno storico hotel vicino al museo di Jung è una esperienza affascinante, ma lo staff dell' hotel la ha resa ancora più bella Ho ricevuto un upgrade per una stanza decisamente fantastica con vista sul lago. Il letto ampio e comodo, cuscini favolosi e prodotti da bagno di grande qualità e sali profumati per la vasca Ottima colazione in una sala decisamente accogliente E un delizioso barattolo di marmellata come dono per la mia partenza!
