Disgusting avoid at all costs. AC doesn't work, beds uncomfortable, sheets stained and scratchy, no water, loud appliances and air conditioner keeps shutting off/ loud, no phone

It was a nice place and beautiful place

For the price paid it was alright. Staff was helpful when help was needed. Nice property, but some things were dated, toilet broke, staff fixed it, bedding was clean but sheets are old. Nice breakfast bar overlooking the beach.

Likes: Access to the beach. Friendly staff. Safety of the premises.

Hotel is a bit remote. Broken chair on balcony. Fridge wouldn’t close firmly. Staff were great but checked after one night and moved to a hotel right in Cabarete.

All the rooms overlook the ocean with a balcony. Staff friendly and safe. Rooms are old and need to be updated. It felt dusty and not so clean even though the cleaning staff was very efficient.

We loved the great view from the balcony, very clean room and bathroom, equipped kitchenette, only missing a microwave. Very efficient and nice staff. We will go back soon.

Great location. Quiet and beautiful. Very safe. Amazing attentive kite staff!!! Very helpful people at the restaurant and kite shop. Excellent restaurant on premises. Good bed and great bathroom. Would have been great to have coffee in the rooms (or available before 8:30 am) and no smoking (it flows right from other balconies into the rooms).

Staying at Agualina through the years is always a pleasant experience, and the staff is as always cordial, wonderful, and responsive. But through the years it seems as though maintenance and upkeep of rooms and common areas are falling behind. I look forward to improving conditions of rooms and common areas by the owner, operator,management.

Very nice hotel. Right at kite beach. Very clean and well kept.

I love this little resort, the pool and the view was amaizing, the problem is that Between August and ends of September the beach has no shore, and is really hard to get into the beach and practice kitesurf or take a bath in the beach, but you can easily walk to the other side of beach

Place is excellent, quiet, beautiful view, there was no soap in bathroon (only liquid), but overall is a nice place to rest

Kite Beach is a mile from downtown. The place to stay if you want to kite (plan to go downtown each night for dinner and drinks on town beach). All Agualina rooms have fantastic ocean views. It is a small hotel with few amenities, still this is our 3rd stay here and we will likely come back. (ask for a big 5gal bottle of water when you arrive)

Puerto Plata can get loud especially at night. We stayed Sunday-Monday. The hotel was very quiet and peaceful. Overalls had a fun quick stay! We had the pool all to ourselves for two days. The beach was pretty empty. We had fun!

Location and view are great. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Price seemed high for what we got. Room lacked amentities; one tired towel per guest, only one hand towel for the bathroom, no face cloths. No soap to wash hands in bathroom so make sure you bring some with you. Served our needs for the few nights we were there.

Great location, right on the beach. You can open your kite right in front of the hotel.

We spent four nights here and it was the perfect location. We had a ground floor apartment with two double beds, a lovely big bathroom and a balcony that looked out on the pool and sea. It is lovely being on Kite beach, a bit quieter than Cabarete but with some restaurants close by and it was a lovely 30 minute walk along the beach to get to the beach restaurants in Cabarete + we didn’t take a torch and felt perfectly safe.

A newer, clean resort steps away form the beach. The AC is not adjustable but by the second day the room temperature was great. The staff is friendly, the WiFi worked well, and the resort is secured.

It is ok. And it is near to bars and restaurants of caberete. Have space for parking, you may need car to go to cabarete.

Not what was expected. The staff during arrival was a bit rude and seemed upset when I asked for clean towels. I will definitely look for other options for my next stay.

Brilliant experience to stay in a hotel where you walk from your room straight onto the beach. For certain because I am a kite surfer.

The room was clean and well appointed. Gorgeous view. Staff was friendly. Pool looked great. We were on the 3rd floor which is not really a problem except hauling our gear up to the third floor was kind of a pain becasue ther is no elevator. I would definately stay here again and would recommend it to others

Agualina is in great location. Right on the beach. 15-20 min walk on beach to Cabarete for plenty of dining options. Property is well-maintained. Beds are not comfortable & the plumbing was questionable. On-site restaurant is good, but service (as most places in DR) is slow.

Me and my boyfriend are a young couple in our 30's and we were looking for a cheap place to stay that had certain amenities such as airconditioner, hot water, a clean room, a safe place and that was not too close to town in order to avoid party noises. This place was perfect, the rooms are of regular size, with air conditioner,a refrigerator, and the bedding was good. The hotel has a restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch and happy hour. The best cappucino I've had in my life with almond milk. The only con I could find, was that they were a bit slow and not too efficient when it comes to the daily cleaning and change of bedding and towels, but overall the hotel was excellent and the people were very nice. Also the hotel has the beach right there, a few steps aways, and we could see the sea from our room. We also saw many Kites and kite surfers. I will definitely be coming back and definitely recommend it to a friend.

The hotel is located in the front of the beach with a beautiful view. However there were maintenance issues. The air conditioning leaked over the closet. My clothes got a smell... there was also a cockroach eating my candies

Great people! Super hospitable. Just be wary because location wise you're a little over a mile from town. If you have a car or are willing to use the motocoches then you're fine. Also, be sure to have them help you with tours (much less expensive than online) Wifi was a little shaky though Pool is really nice though (we didn't go kitesurfing but we still really enjoyed it)

Very attentive staff and great security. They were working on replacing the beach bar roof so we could not enjoy it but it has a marvelous view.

When we arrived, the hotel did not have our reservation. Fortunately there was one suite left, which they gave us at no extra cost above what we had booked the room for. Then, a few days into our stay, there was a very foul odor from the bathroom drain that they were not able to fix. Again, fortunately there was another bathroom in the suite that we were able to use.

It's a pretty nice hotel, not fancy, but very confortable. People are all about kite surf so were we, so if you're not in to kite, I'd not recommend this hotel. Our room was pretty spacy with kitchen included, for a week stay it's perfect!!!

Absolutely a nice small hotel where you stay close to the beach with a decent size pool. All rooms are ocean view! Very safe. Main gate with guard 24 hrs, and double door to access your room. Clean and well maintained. Kite surfing? This is the place!!! Food? Hotel has a small place that you can find breakfast, lunch and drinks.

Just stayed there one week and we were extremely happy with our stay. The hotel is very well manger by very nice staff. Rooms were well cleaned all day. For the price and great view of the beach, this hotel is a must. Will definitely be going back here when we come back again to Cabarete

AguaLina is small (only 25 rooms) but the rooms are modern and all rooms have wonderful ocean views. The cleaning staff mopped our floors every day. The room was clean and bug free. There is a wonderful restaurant/bar on site called VACABAR which is an open air tiki bar directly on the beach. This hotel is likely the best deal on Kite Beach (keep in mind it's 3 miles from Carabete center). The only down side is that there is a busy road in front of all the Kite Beach Hotels, but there is no road noise inside the rooms or on the beach. I would gladly return to AguaLina on a future visit. (Ask for a 5 gallon bottle of water when you check in... Water in Carabete is not safe for travelers to drink)

Very good small hotel. Nice rooms. It's not the kind of fancy hotel, but right in front of the ocean. The pool is small but nice. The beach is like Cabarete, so it has waves. This is not Punta Cana or B Chica, this beach has some waves all over. If you kite, surf or windsurf, you'll love this. The only bad thing I noticed is that the TV signal was not very good, and in some channels the audio would be in English and Spanish at the same time, so you couldn't understand anything. However, I barely turned it on, for a few minutes for the baby.

Enjoyed my stay,good food, short moto ride to cabarete beach, quiet and relaxing, will definitely recommend to friends and will stay here when I return

First time was a good stay. Property is right on the beach.

We arrived at the hotel after check in around 4pm. The room was dirty and they were still scrambling to clean it which took them another hour. After our long drive we had to wait another hour out in the sun. Once the room was so called cleaned we entered to find no AC. I went to front desk and they said it would be fixed in half an hour. Went back to room to find that the beds were nasty, sheets dirty and they had sprayed the comforter with frebreeze. The beds smelled horrible...After waiting a half hour for AC I had to go back to the front desk and told them I would not stay there even if they offered me a room for free....Beware travelers horrible hotel...
