We were travelling with a friend so it was great to have a 2 bedroom option but have a single bed in the main area as well. The kitchen was small but had everything we needed, very happy about that.

Up stairs people up all night knocking around smoking outside my room night shift workers starting cars and small trucks and leaving them running for a while Shower in my room was terrible it was boiling hot with just a dribble of pressure

It was super clean, very quiet day and night, everything you need in the kitchen, large rooms, large comfy beds, large bathroom. Lovely lady in reception. Perfect location, just 5minute walk for CBD. We couldn't fault it at all.
No hair conditioner in the bathroom - but that's a really minor detail. Using just the shampoo provided was OK. Apart from that we couldn't fault the place.

Reviewed May 17, 2025We made a last minute booking via booking.com in the early hours of the morning due to issues with our accommodation at the time. I then called the office first thing after they opened and explained our situation and asked if they might be able to allow us an early check-in. The gentleman I spoke with was so accommodating and lovely and was happy to help us out which we really appreciated. We booked a two bedroom suite and it was lovely and clean, tidy, spacious, large bathroom with a clean and functional kitchenette and comfortable beds and bedding. Condition is as per the photos on the site. It was a very comfortable stay

In winter months I try to stay at a different motel in Invercargill. This is because my experience is that the Townsman is cold, and has insufficient heaters. My preferred motel was booked. Upon arrival the room was very cold. A single small heater was available, and a 'night store heater', (that isn't adjustable) was working. But the small heater wasn't going to heat the high ceiling living room, and the bedroom. So, I asked for another heater, and the two warmed the room.

There could have been a shelf or unit of some sort to store things in the bathroom. there was nowhere to put our toiletries as the basin top didn't have much space on it.
