The room was very clean and comfortable. And when we had trouble getting the cable to work, the lovely woman on the desk that evening came to our room immediately and sorted the TV out for us. The location was also perfect for our weekend needs. When we got home, I realized that I'd left a special "hair-protector" pillowcase behind in the room. I called to ask about it, and was told - by the same lovely woman! - that it had just been laundered and would be held at the desk for me the next time in was in the area. Superb service!

The only thing I can think of was to provide a bath mat/towel. But we used an extra hand towel for that purpose, and it worked just fine. Otherwise, the property supplied everything we needed.

Doors lock everywhere throughout the building. I was locked out of the building the lobby and couldnt at one point get out of the hotel. We returned the keys and refused to stay the night now out the money to stay elsewhere. Dirty gross scary feeling. Rooms attach but no locks. Just bad

If you want to stay somewhere that is very, very, very basic while visiting Stratford, then this will meet your requirements. There is no sense of comfort and fortunately we were only there for one night. The front desk experience was poor, we were not even informed of a wifi code so we expected it to be in the room, but it wasn't. Breakfast is from 7am to 9am closing far too early if you are looking for a restful break. No shower gel or body wash in the bathroom, just super thin soap and a couple of shampoo & conditioner sachets. Both the bed and pillows were uncomfortable and part way through the night my head was hurting. This was our first and last visit to the Shakespeare Inn.

I had such a terrible allergic reaction to the room I had to leave after half an hour. I did not buy cancellation insurance, so I learned my lesson and will never book a hotel this way again. I am allergic to cats, dust and mold. There were all three allergens in this hotel. The bedding hasn't been updated since the 1960's. Although the carpet had been removed and replaced with laminate, there is still carpet as baseboards that has been there since the 1950's. It was worse than the Bates motel. Bad energy. Old food was left in the fridge in our room. Awful, horrible, terrible worst ever hitel experience.

Very outdated. Poor quality , not soundproof could hear neighbours tv going in middle of the night - and fans going on from outside. Very low quality old school motel .

Property is clean. A bit dated and worn. Beds, carpet, trim etc. bathroom looked more newly renovated. We had no problems. Rooms are carpeted and looked worn.

Rooms are pretty basic but clean and has a fridge with a tiny freezer. It was very quiet! They offer coffee and cookies in the cafe from 7-9 am. Friendly staff that double check that the room is clean before you go in. Very reasonable and only 10 min from Stratford

Staff was friendly and accommodating for a main floor room. Room was clean and tidy. Bathroom was well stocked, many of the other things could be updated. Bathroom light flickered and fan was loud. Microwave didn’t really work and bedding was older and mattresses as well. Tv worked fine and we had a restful sleep, with a coffee /tea and cookies included and available down the hall which was nice was nice

The property is dated but the room was very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Nothing fancy with this hotel but would recommend as the price is right! Staff are friendly and accommodating. It was about a 15 minute drive into Stratford.

Wonderful stay. The Inn was nostalgic and very inviting. The front desk rep was tremendously gracious. She personally made sure our visit was comfortable. Customer service at its finest. Thank you.

Proprietor was very friendly and accommodating. I booked the family room and was pleased to see a fridge, microwave and small table with chairs. Coffee was available in the morning. Parking was convenient. The drive to Stratford was quite short and very straightforward.

During the Festival, Stratford is a very expensive place to stay, therefore it seemed expensive for an older property. However, other prices I saw were also high, so the price was likely in line with the market.

No breakfast included, which I found a little disappointing. I was happy about the coffee station and cookies though.

The clicking light in the bathroom, when you turn it on. Really makes you feel like you're in some sort of a sketchy cell.

Noisy AC

Friendly reception. Good information provide upon registering. Room was clean as were sheets and towels. Warm day and air had been turned up for our comfort. Simple but quaint!

We had adjoining room and you could hear TV from other room once ours was off. But respectful and not so loud as to stop us from sleeping. Would return.

Property was clean, but dated. Bed was terrible. Definitely need to upgrade. They were there cheapest one could possibly buy. This is a really inexpensive hotel. Wouldn't stay there again. Easy to get to on a main drag. Easy access to Stratford very few dining options close.

The property was very clean, quiet and the staff friendly and very helpful. There is very little around the property, however it is only 10 minutes from the theater and another 5 to downtown Stratford. If you want fancy and like to be pampered this is not the place for you. A great basic hotel that I would stay in again!

Clean hotel, friendly staff

It was clean. The staff were extremely kind and accommodating.

We liked the price compared to hotels/motels/B&B's/AirBnB,etc. in Stratford especially considering it was only a 10 minute car ride away from Stratford.

We were upgraded from a regular queen room to a suite that could sleep 5-6. and that wsa a nice surprise. The water pressure was fantastic in the shower and the air conditioning (during a heat wave) was wonderful. The room could have been cleaner and the furnishings need updating, but the room was clean enough for our needs. The owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and very pleasant to deal with.

The rooms were dated in terms of furnishings and bedding. There were many air fresheners in the hallways which, while I didn't mind the scent, were a little too much, even for me.

No In room coffee maker. Parking for our weekend was difficult due to people with multiple vehicles (MOPAR) and poor parking skills.

The SHAKESPEARE INN, is our favorite place to stay while in the area. The staff are excellent and very accommodating. Place is always clean. It suites OUR needs just fine.

It's a budget property meaning that facilities are basic. A bed with clean sheets and a bathroom with clean towels. Everything worked as it should and was in a state of good repair.

Good value for the price. Short drive to Stratford.

Really no breakfast was available. Just a coffee machine but the hotel was clean. The staff was very nice good parking .We will stay here again.

Bathroom was dirty. Brown gunk under the door. They use strong chemicals to make it seem cleaner than it is. Probably won't stay there again.

Clean place with the essentials.

This hotel/motel is run down, and has definitely seen better days. The owner or manager (I'm not sure which) was very polite, but the moment you walk into the lobby it has a very strong smell. Nothing has been updated in a long time, so things are getting quite shabby. Upon arriving at our room, the door was open and the tv was on. We weren't sure if someone else had the room, but were told it was ours. Some things were clean, but others were obviously not (carpet not vacuumed, hairs on bathroom floor, mould in the grout around the bathtub, etc). I went to the front desk to ask something around 11:00pm but it was all locked up for the night and no one was there. The photos show a "restaurant", but there is no restaurant at this hotel. We stayed here after going to a play in Stratford. Another time I would just drive further to find a better place to stay, probably for the same price.

There was no breakfast but there was exceptional customer service. The staff were very helpful as to luggage, wi-fi set up and being present to assist.

Don’t not Like the property. It smelt Like smoke my husband was having issues. If not smoke then someone had been calling. Told the desk and they only denied it. The room was not clean and very out dated to go up the stairs to 2nd floor we have to go through like a maze and utility closet. That is where they kept the coffee if we wanted any! I will never recommend this place

There was nothing to like after we had to go through a small walkway back room to get the stairs. The stairs were steep. The room smelled and not Totally cleaned. Staff was rude and kept refusing that the room had an odour, although my husband Was having a reaction and problem breathing . When arrived we noticed and opened a window hoping that would help while we went to our play. But when we came Back nothing hand changed.approached the owner and she and her husband became defensive and said no one smokes in room. It did!!! We Left without a refund and drive home. A very expensive day that was ruined by this place. We Will have to review if we Will use your site due to this. We had never had a problem Before but this has left a bad taste to us and My husbands breathing!!!

While there we experienced a terrible wind, thunder, lightning and, torrential storm. We felt safe and cozy.

Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Staff was courteous.

Very friendly people. The Inn is in a rural setting, great for walks, with easy access to Stratford.

Handy to Stratford Festival and economic. But a very basic, plain motor inn. Front appearance odd with fountain in a parking lot. Staff friendly.

Overall my stay was amazing! The rooms were very clean and spacious. The lady that works at the front was very helpful and sweet :) I appreciate everything they have done for me and i will definitely be returning when i have the chance. A huge thank you 😃

Overwhelming smell of curry/spices mixed with air freshener was a turn off. My clothes had smell of it as well. Don't get me wrong I actually like Indian food but it was a bit much for odor.

The staff was warm and welcoming. The room was very clean.

Hotel is a little dated but clean. Check in and check out was very easy.

Quiet

It was quiet.

There was a hole in the linen sheet on the bedding and a slight musty smell when we arrived, but after the air conditioning ran for a while it improved. It was a very hot day so that may have been a factor in the air quality.

We had a wonderful stay. It was an easy 10 min drive to the theatre we went to in Stratford. The room was very clean, well maintained, and the AC worked perfectly. We also appreciated the coffee in the morning. What really stood out was the hospitality... The management went above and beyond by surprising us with balloons and a thoughtful setup in the room for my mom’s 70th birthday. It really made our trip special.

We booked a Queen sized bed, but we were given a room with a double bed. We did not complain. We did not understand how to work the TV, but the lady came at my request and got it to the channel that we wanted. The day was very hot and the room needed A/C which it had but I was surprised that I had to set it up, as opposed to it being already set up for us. There was a frig which we did not use. There was no microwave but we did not want it anyway. There were only 2 pillows on the bed. I should have asked for more pillows as we like to have one between our legs when we sleep. It was late by the time I noticed so did not want to disturb the family running the Inn. The password for the internet was there and worked. They have a room with tea/coffee and Dad’s cookies that everyone can access. Would I stay there again? Yes, but I would not accept the double bed, and would ask for more pillows.

Ms. Vani was very kind to let us check in early and that set us up for an enjoyable evening at Stratford where we watched a play.

There was ample parking and we felt very safe . We were all seniors and having our rooms on the ground floor worked out great for us
