The airport conditioner was very loud. We opted to sleep with the windows open, which meant we heard transport trucks on the highway a lot in the night. Better than the noise of the air-conditioner.

The room was clean, and there was also a fridge and coffee/tea setup in the room. I also liked that our room's window faced the forest. It was peaceful. Next time I'm visiting family in the area, I'll book here again.

Bring your own pillows though. Just on the outskirts of town which was nice and still close enough to all amenities if needed.

Although we booked ahead, the heat had not been turned on in either of our 2 rooms. It was minus 35 degrees Celsius out and our room temperatures were at 13 and 15. It took quite a while to warm up.

Reviewed Aug 11, 2025decent price for a nice room. You are right on the Trans Canada hwy so don't be surprised by trucks running all night. Actually found it relaxing in a way. Deep River is a picturesque town on the Ottawa river and hub of the story of nuclear power in Canada. The outdoor and recreational opportunities are many are varied. Sam's food truck, located at the motel, has some great eats at a reasonable price. My wife really enjoyed the fish and chips calling the batter light and tasy. The gravy on the poutine with real curd was very tasty and protions were nice size. Also checked out Godfather's Pizza and definitely very good pizza!

Reviewed Jul 6, 2025Great location on the Trans Canadian highway in between Manitoulin and Ottawa. Homely atmosphere and recent rooms with amenities. Reasonably priced.
Some cushions and towels had dirty stains. The AC works but is quite loud. There is not much sound proofing so you can feel and hear the trucks passing nearby.

Curtains would allow for light to come in but to have privacy as well. The traffic from the highway was also very loud so headsup for any light sleepers.

My husband heard the trucks on the highway at night.

We would have liked if more towels to be included in our room at check in, as we booked for 2 adults and 1 child and were provided two towels. I’m sure if we had asked they would have provided us more but we were just tired and made do with what we had!
