Port Augusta Inn

Property was clean, location in Comox is excellent

Other guests smoking in the parking lot, the smoke came up to the balcony where we sat in the evening, and in our balcony door at night when we slept. They also smoked near the base of the stairways and we had to walk through this stink with our bags. Late at night there seemed to be transient campers who stayed in the parking lot and left early in the morning. I didn’t like this.

The unit 127 that I was given upon my arrival was not at all what was stated in my booking. There was supposed to be sea views, there was not and the rear of the inn had a stinking dog park. The room itself was so old,the mattress were from the 80s and you could feel the springs. The walls were dirty, cracked and falling apart. Absolutely gross for $161 a night. When I brought this to the Intention of the manager, her response was that it's very old and she was very busy as she stood there on her phone.

Nothing at all.

amazing

nothing everything is good

Room was dirty. Only 2 pillows. One for each person. Garbage remained in Bathroom garbage bucket. Only 2 sheets , no blanket on bed. I don't think room had been completely cleaned. Weird because I have stayed here before. Haven't got my deposit yet and it's 1000pm of the day I left. What's going on?

As above. Not happy right now.

Clean

Price

Staff was great; very close to off leash dog park; continental breakfast was satisfying

Our room was in a dark corner but we made it work

Good location. Nice continental breakfast. Clean rooms. Friendly staff.

Beds very hard.

Large clean rooms, friendly staff

Good breakfast. View of water

Watched the Emmys on the big screen! Big enough room with two comfy queen beds and room for our dog’s crate! Tasty continental breakfast with a chance to interact with other travellers! Convenient location for pleasant walks with my dog in a pleasant neighbourhood!

The pool was already getting drained on September 14-15 so not available for a relaxing swim… Staff seemed overwhelmed when we showed up a few minutes early but they did accommodate us after we persisted…

Good location.

The handicap room was above expectations. Access car to room door was less than 15 steps

I was pleased with the full kitchen, the size of the room and how quiet it was

The bathroom was great it was updated and functional.

The beds were old beds, the furniture is dated, there were cobwebs in the corners of the room. The bathroom floor wasn't clean under the sink. The parking was crappy as well, and the door to the room wasn't sealed properly, you could see the light coming thru when it was shut. The pillows wer not comfortable and the bed spreads and mattress covers had blood stains on them as well as the pillow cases. I work have worked in the hotel business for over fifteen years so I know the rooms should be like. My mom and I didn't not get a proper sleep due to the mattresses and the pillows The mattresses need to be replaced since they are and old box spring and spring mattress. I wasn't not happy about this room at all and where it was located for a disability room.

its old and and dark inside

Room was cold and meh, breakfast nothing to write home about. Overall if you use this just as a pitstop, I suppose it is ok.

I liked the location, the price and the pool and the fact that is a pet friendly accommodation

The breakfast wasn’t different everyday and it wasn’t a real breakfast, just cereal, bread and for drink just yogurt, coffee and apple juice. Not to much to choose from also de pet room is more expensive but the farthest room from everything

Alles etwa verbraucht, Frühstücksraum sehr klein, Frühstück dürftig

Alles könnte eine modernisierung vertragen

Ruime schone kamers. Voldoende handdoeken. Heel vriendelijk personeel. Dicht bij restaurantjes, bars en supermarkt. Ijskast en koffiefaciliteiten op de kamer.

Weinig plek in het ontbijtzaaltje.

The location was good for my purpose. It is relatively close to the airport and I had a 5:30 am flight, so that made it easy to get there in time.

It is an old motel so the decor is quite dated.

The breakfast

They gave me a general key like a master key which opened 304 but I was in 204. They then gave me the key to 309 when I was in 304. So I could have walked in on people. That means, as a woman travelling alone, that people could have walked in on me. Security is bad~ very lax. They had uncleaned vomit in their tree planting area. There were people sitting out on their steps all night. They are supposed to be pet friendly but complained the room smelled like dog even though it was perfectly clean. They charge extra for dogs but don't seem to like them. The toilet was leaking when flushed and filling up a little plastic garbage can ~ very unsanitary. I am a British person and was informed by staff that the British started the Jewish holocaust. So maybe this is a general misconception in the Phillipine school system. However, despite this, the particular staff Catherine was really nice and full of fun and welcoming [ the only kind welcoming staff ] This motel is run by young people from the Phillippines. One of them sat outside all night on some steps outside with their head in their arms not looking happy. What was most dehumanizing was trying to talk to one of the staff but she just ignored me and spoke tagalog to her colleague and didn't acknowledge me. Plus the reception was rude saying " I think we are going to have trouble cleaning your room" because of having had pets. Luckily I took a video before leaving so show the room was clean. I did get my damage deposit back after being made to wait a long time.

Breakfast was great. Lots to choose from Bedroom was tidy

Asked for a room away from main door of 400 block: night staff refused to oblige & fibbed that no other rooms were available. No shower gel in bathroom

Breakfast was fine

Old hotel. No airflow in room. Mattress very firm.

room was very spacious, bed was comfy, checkout was easy, friendly staff

trouble with key cards multiple times, and was surprised the room was not stocked with linens upon check in

Room was large and king size bed with a balcony over looking the Comox River estuary. Matress was a bit firmer than preferred but was acceptable. Good weather so was able to make use of the balcony. View was good but not exceptional. Located on Comox Ave so good access to restaurants and the Island Highway to travel up or down the island. Campbell River was about 45 minutes via the scenic old highway route. Facility has an outdoor pool but we didn't get around to trying it out.

Balcony view was over rated but balcony did provide a good area to sit and enjoy the sunshine. Breakfast is continental and has few protein components for someone on a reduced Carbohydrate diet such as a diabetic. Cereals and breads make up the main dishes.

Overall suitabilitt

Nothing wrong. Good location

Great location. Friendly staff. Good sized comfortable room. Nearby restaurants.

Nice room, friendly staff, decent location. Good proximity to pubs/restaurants without being "in town".

A minor not to pick; beds were a little bit too firm for my preference but more than acceptable.

Room was a decent size, nice deck with partial view. Pool was cold but clean.

Breakfast was fairly limited.

Got into the room a bit early.

Breakfast eggs made my husband sick for 3 days. Not proper temp for service. Sink completely clogged, husband had to fix. Coffee maker unplugged from a location that you had to crawl under the table to plug back in. Alarm went off at 215am, woke my husband up and he was awake the rest of the night. All thinks that should have been checked by cleaning staff.

The staff were kind and friendly

The neighbor business patrons nearly bumped me in the parking lot.

Breakfast was great, location was perfect for the job site I was on

I had no issues with anything, the stay was perfect

both rooms were very comfortable and well equipped. The updates, particularly to the bathrooms, are lovely. The accessible room was perfect for mum.

The carpets are ageing and it will be lovely when they are replaced.

There was an odour strong of room spray. Other guests up late arguing . Air conditioner going on and off every 20-60 seconds. Waking us constantly.

Easy to find and had lots of parking

When we booked it said we had an upper floor suite but we ended up on a bottom floor right beside ice machine and stairs with some loud folks above us. We had to go back to the office to ask for sheets for the pullout couch (room was booked for 5 people so we were going to need these) and there was no fitted sheet but we checked in late so just wanted to get kids to bed so made it work.

Gemakkelijk bereikbaar en ruime parking. Dicht bij de zee.

Verouderd interieur, geen vri3ndelijke service en zeer weinig ontbijt. Totaal geen keuze en zeer ongezond.

It is very nice to have breakfast included. Location is fine clean and good value.

Great location

Room had broken toilet

Excellent assortment of BF items. Lots of fresh coffee. Friendly staff. Clean facilities & lots of bowls, plates utensils etc.

Breakfast room was fairly small when many people were using it. No waffle maker was available 😞.

Niente

the pool was a bonus but water a tad on the cold side - nice to have a small breakfast but room way too small for amount of people and items should vary more

I booked a superior room with ocean view and 2 beds...unit 127 no balcony but the large air conditioning unit was so loud and did not work right...had to turn it off which left a small fan in the room...this unit is so old and nobody should get this room...moved us to a bettwe room for our 2nd night..felt sorry for the seniors that they gave to room to right after we got our other room...very sad!

It is a bit far from the city center, but there is a gas station and a restaurant right nearby. There is no elevator, though you can park your car right next to the nearest staircase. The front desk is very nice, and a basic breakfast is provided. The room is spacious and clean, featuring a small balcony, and the bathroom appears to have been recently renovated. Amenities include a TV, refrigerator, microwave, ironing board, and hairdryer. It is a great place for an overnight stay.

No elevator

The basic facilities are good with the price

Nothing

Everything

Fortes Odeurs de poubelles du restaurant sushi dans le stationnement. Mais il faisait très chaud c’est vrai.

Simple, clean accommodation, walkable to downtown and near the water.

Colazione base ma utile per iniziare la giornata. La struttura è a 15 minuti a piedi dalla marina e dal centro di Comox

Location

I booked a room and paid extra for a pet friendly room. Got to hotel and they charged me even more. Coffee maker in room but no coffee. Ironing board but no iron. On ground floor so didn’t open window so had to run air conditioning to keep room cool. Air conditioning was extremely loud.

Didn't have breakfast.

The beds were good. The location was good.

The breakfast was too simple.

Location and staff were good. Room was good size.

Room was pretty dated. Continental breakfast was average and in a small room.

Friendly staff for our late check in. Great location! Good breakfast!

Intet - der lugtede så stramt af hash og døde mus at vi endte med at køre efter 30 min og finde et andet sted

It was clean, with lots of amenities

Wir hatten ein modernes und sauberes Zimmer. Die Betten war sehr bequem.

Das Frühstück sowie der Frühstücksraum sind ein witz.

Close location

Room had no balcony and felt like we were in a dungeon. Right below stairs to next floor could hear everyone walking

Nothing. The best part was leaving.

Well, how long is a piece of string. By far the worse hotel stay ever. The place stunk like someone had died in it. The room was absolutely filthy. No end of human and pet hairs. The list goes on.

The staff are not friendly and it’s was expensive stay. Over 6000k for 5 days and we weren’t allowed to use the fresh water house to rinse out dive gear. Some of the gear is worth 30k ie camera equipement so we had to haul the camera equipent to the second floor and rinse in the shower. We have 10 days booked for next year and we will not stay there for that very reason

The pool, staff, location and restaurant were great!

It's an outdated place. The walls are super thin. Beds are not the most comfy.

Glad to find a well priced hotel in a good location and provides breakfast! I had been here before and it still satisfies me!

Staff was friendly

The breakfast room was packed All the time, it didn't feel relaxed at all. The mattress was too soft and not comfortable, the air con was noisy and the carpet was filthy. We were told we would have a crib for the baby but there was none in the room when we arrived, when I went to ask , one lady showed me a dirty tiny play pen. The housekeeper changed our bed sheet while we were away and didn't close the door properly so the door was unlocked for hours and hours.

We rented a family unit. It was large and comfortable. The complex has a pool , which is great for the kids. They offer continental breakfast, but it’s not the best.

I was not impressed with the breakfast.

It is an older hotel, but everything was adequate for our needs. We both slept well and found the loft room to be very spacious and unique. Breakfast choices included cereals, bread to toast, yogurt, bananas, hard-boiled eggs, etc. There were enough options to satisfy most. The AC in the lower level works great.

The breakfast room is rather small and stuffy for the amount of people that were using it, but the hotel had also provided tables outside. The mattress was not new, and was firmer than I prefer, but I still slept well. I would love to see better mattress protectors- like the type that encase the entire mattress. I'd also like to suggest a higher chair to go with the desk. It would be great to have a better cooling system for the room upstairs.

Clean, nice to have microwave and coffee fixings. We appreciate the ability to bring our dog.

Room 204 needs the drapes to extend well past the window as there is an exterior security light that kept our room lit during the night. We weren't thrilled with the a/c unit unable to find a temperature that would have it come on at a more reasonable interval. It would come on for a minute then turn off for 30 sec.

Friendly hotel staff; very clean room with updated bathroom; lots of parking

Some of the furniture is a bit old, but serviceable. Bed was pretty firm.

Breakfast was ok. The hotel was quiet which was nice. We knew that there a lot of guests by the low availability of parking spaces, but we did not hear any noises from other rooms.

The breakfast room was small for the number of guests that were using it.

The staff were very kind and accommodating. The beds were nice and comfy, and the room itself was great. Perfect spot to stay for a couple of nights!

There is an outdoor swimming pool

Too much ppl smoking and even vaporing at the parking lot and the corridor. Lots of dead flying ants in the swimming pool

The location was great. That's about it

The room was dated, bedding dirty, mattress hard, carpet gross and a very sad "breakfast"

Very calm and clean place to stay.

Great location, quiet, clean, everything we needed. Pet friendly. Great staff. Friendly, helpful, going above and beyond.

Nothing

It was very clean

Easy to find

Friendly, clean ! Pillows were to big and hard and my bed in 101 master room was hard and slight inclined to outside edge. It felt like I was slipping off.

Nothing

Bathroom updates: bath/shower, sink & taps, counter were up to date in design & fully functional. Mini kitchen included single portable electric hot plate, apartment sized fridge & freezer was modern & fully operational & ultra clean. TV & remote were easy to operate w/out error codes (on/off, channel selection). Light continental breakie for our needs. Adequate parking on the property, inclusion of outdoor swimming pool was a bonus!

Location of room under outdoor stairwell was annoyance. Coping with people descending the stairs early in the morning prevented sound sleep. Common breakfast dining area was tight. Fortunately, outdoor weather & added seating w/table space allowed for breakie routine.

The rooms were super clean!!!

The continental breakfast needs some work. They need to change it up so you are not eating the same thing every time you stay there. Also the need to change their cars keys. We stayed for 11 days total in 3 stays and the keys were an issue every single day and some times multiple times in a day.

Clean and comfortable. We appreciated the swimming pool too. Excellent sushi restaurant on-site.

TV is not programmed to properly use the full screen, which is annoying. The step in the room could use a small light for safety at night.

Property was nicely located and easy to access restaurants and attractions. Lots of parking.

The room did not have a “do not disturb” placard for the door handle or a chain for the door on the inside. The beds were ok but were rather firm and you could feel the springs in the mattress, not in a bad way, but the bed was solid.

My sons and I really enjoyed the pool and were pleasantly surprised by the beautifully renovated bathroom, plus the short taxi ride to the airport, early the next morning. We were told by the taxi driver that it's the only hotel in Comox and closest to airport (the whole reason for our stay). Area seemed safe, only thing that could have improved my score for "location" would be water views or access.

Initial outside perception when we pulled up, asked to see the room (which I usually do not need to do), the room itself was mediocre, burnt cigarette holes in the bed covers, later discovered that the floors weren't cleaned all that well. Very hard mattresses, very crispy (noisy even) bedsheets. I'm hoping this motel-style establishment plans on renovating it's rooms and exterior appearance, changing out all its mattresses and linen.

Coffee with cream, if we’d brought our kids they would have loved breakfast lol We were happy to have access if we really needed it.

We don’t eat cereal, or bread or sweet things in the morning and we don’t like paper cups.

Personnel très accueillant et disponible, l’appartement est grand, rénové et spacieux

Peu d’équipements dans la cuisine, literie peu confortable, et salle de petit déjeuner de faible capacité

Proximity to town

Some of the decor needs updating

Look location closebtoe town

The room is supposed to cater for 5 people but there is mot enough crockery or cutlery for everybody. Breakfast could use and an upgrade.

The breakfast was awesome.

Room floor hasn't been mopped or washed for weeks on end

Ease of booking. Ease of registration. Very pleasant staff.

The bathroom was fully renovated and very clean. The room is very spacious

The location was great and it had two of our favorite places to eat right behind it. It was nice and clean. Lots of parking, close to town with a nice outdoor pool and the staff were kind.

I was very disappointed in the breakfast. Pictures had lead me to believe it had more then toast, fruit and yogurt. I felt the bay view was very limited. It was 90% parking lot view and 10% bay view. But the little patio was nice. It's definitely needs new paint inside to freshen it up.

Convenient location

Furnishings need to be updated,. Breakfast okay

Was clean , good location , out door pool, staff at desk friendly

Only 1bag of coffee, only , no extra drinks ie tea

This place was so gross I did not stay there even though I couldn't get my money back.Tgere were door.locks that some tried to.pry open and looked like it had not been maintained ever!

Room was clean

great strong shower

Great location large rooms and pet friendly. Great value for the money and lots of parking.

Nothing ir was great

Convenient and clean

A bit dated and run down

A nice little swimming pool Clean rooms Lots of parking Free breakfast Helpful staff

Great location to enjoy downtown Comox and the marina. Comfortable beds.

Nothing to report here

Handycap accessible was the best we have experienced

I have no recommendation

I stay at the Port Augusta every year during a cycling trip, the location is excellent, the rooms are always very clean, the staff are always excellent.

Nothing
