The rooms are amazing with a small balcony and fantastic views. Little touches like putting water and milk in the fridge for your arrival.
Nothing
The room was very spacious. It was furnished well and had a large comfortable bed. It was very good having the small fridge and a supply of fresh milk. The view from the room was lovely .
There was nothing we didn't like. The only downside would be if you were disabled. The slight incline from the accommodation up to the White Horse might be an issue.
I enjoyed the table service at breakfast. A nice change from buffets
A warm welcome and excellent and varied menu choices. Both breakfast and dinner were really good. Clean and comfortable room.
AOK
Our Suite was spotless and had everything we needed. The view was gorgeous and the balcony was a great facility to enjoy the view.
There was nothing to dislike about the property.
A beautiful break away! A peaceful and idyllic place to stay with stunning views, wonderful accommodation and a fabulous breakfast.
Everything was just perfect! We’ll definitely be back. Thank you 😃
Great accommodation, good food, lovely views.
Nothing
Staff and service were excellent as was the food.
No air conditioning did make the room very walk in the summer. There was a fan so not the end of the world..
Breakfast options are great . Quality is good
El lloc on es es troba és molt maco, i les habitacions son molt maques i amples. Bon esmorçar i molt bon tracte.
Que no hi hagi dutxa. També devant la pujada de temperatures aquest agost pel canvi climátic, no hi ha prou aillament del sostre ni aire acondicionat i a les habitacións feia molta calor.
The breakfasts and dinner were excellent as was the service. The staff unfailingly friendly, helpful and unfussy and we felt at home from the moment we arrived. Looking to staying there again next year.
Rooms were light, bright and spotless. Views were amazing.
Large comfortable room with sitting area, tea making facilities and small fridge. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of part
No complaints
everything
The accommodation was superb, very spacious and good view. Meals were excellent as was all of the staff.
It was an excellent stay so nothing really
The room was spacious and clean. It was very quiet and peaceful. Views over the dales from a private balcony. Staff were friendly. Meals were excellent and we had our evening meal there both nights
Nothing
Excellent quality rooms with lovely views
Short bar/restaurant hours on a Sunday understandable but leave guests very much room bound. A recent development is tight butter allocations at breakfast……
Ideal location to visit the peak district. Food was lovely. All the staff were friendly and helpful, including cleaners. We will definitely visit again and recommend to friends and family. Great for parking and they offered to store our bikes if needed. Room 1 had a great walk in shower. Toiletries provided were nice as was the fresh milk. Also it was nice to have a mini fridge in the room in this hot weather. We enjoyed the spacious seating area and also used the small dining type table to play some games. The menu in the adjoining pub was varied and reasonably priced and they also had specials. As the name suggests, the place had a lovely view. We thought it might be noisy as based next to the pub but it was really peaceful.
It was very hot ( not the owners fault!) But it needed more than 1 fan as no air-conditioning. Also had problems with remote control on tv,could have been batteries or poor signal? But we hardly watched it so no issue for us really. It may bother others though.
Amazing views and layout
Great location and delightful facilities
NA
The staff were very efficient and friendly.
Outdoor area at the back spoilt by a noisy extraction fan
It was very clean, nicely decorated, comfy & spacious, the staff were great as were the breakfasts & the evening meals we had, it's a very relaxing beautiful place to stay & well situated for everything in the Peak District. we'll definitely be back.
It was exceptionally hot when we were there & an umbrella for the balcony would have been the icing on the cake also a slightly quieter fan, but everything else was superb.
We ate breakfast and dinner for 3 days. The breakfasts were delicious. The staff was wonderful. Our rooms were huge with big bathrooms and a gorgeous view of the hills. The Luxury rooms have king beds and a bath and a big stand-alone shower. That would have been perfect. There was also plenty of parking.
The dinners could be improved but we had been spoiled along the way. We did not book a Luxury room. Ours had a big bath but you had to carefully step in and out and the bed was smaller. There was no AC but fans were provided and we could open the windows.
Great location, food and views were superb.
Beautiful and quite location
Great location with fantastic views down the valley. The junior suites are very spacious and comfortable and the landlord and landlady went out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast was excellent
Lack of air con during what was an exceptionally hot period meant sleeping was not easy. Also I feel the restaurant should be open later. We were told that we had to place our order by 8pm, and the pub then shut completely by 9.45.
everything. In particular the balcony which isn't overlooked, so very private and peaceful, and the view across the green roof below & the fields beyond.
absolutely nothing
The breakfast is excellent. The evening meals offered are also good value and delicious.
What a wonderful place! Honestly, we loved everything about it. We received a very warm welcome on arrival; the rooms were exactly as depicted in the photos and very comfortable; the ensuite bathroom with twin sinks was huge; we were able to sit outside on our private decking and enjoy the glorious peaceful view each evening; the food at dinner and breakfast far exceeded our expectations; the staff were lovely and friendly, and the location was perfect for our visits to Hardwick Hall and Eyam. We couldn't have asked for more and would definitely return if ever in the area again.
Room and bathroom was very spacious. Meals in the bar were very good
Nothing
The food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent. We both had the local lamb which was cooked to perfection, with nice selection of vegetable to accompany the dish. The breakfast menu listed all individual items available which allowed us to select exactly what we wanted to eat, such a lovely touch. All staff were professional, pleasant, helpful and polite. Accommodation was clean, comfortable and spacious with lovely views over the surrounding area. If we ever stay in the area, we'll definitely return.
Nothing.
The location and setting was stunning, the accommodation is set away from the the pub/restaurant which was just lovely, the grounds are lush and beautifully kept with gorgeous little seating areas at the back and front, the traffic through the tiny village is minimal and the only sounds you can hear is birds and sheep, wonderful ☺️The suites exceeded our expectations, the rooms were huge, and the bathrooms enormous, all tastefully decorated, modern & clean with lots of lovely touches like an iron & board, super nice toiletries, the biggest bath sheets ever, and even fresh milk in the fridge, just Wow! The evening meal was delicious with lots of options, the staff were attentive and friendly, the hosts were just so welcoming and the breakfast was fabulous, could not have asked for anything more, by far, the best hotel all round that we have stayed in, well done to the team at The White Horse, you deserve all of your success 👍
There was nothing to not like, wished we could have stayed longer !
Location. Views. Quality. Staff everything was exceptional. Breakfast superb
Nothing
Great location. Good food and nice staff.

Views and space in the rooms to relax
Personally the bed was a bit soft, but was comfortable
This glorious place is a such a great and peaceful place to relax. The stunning views from the really splendid but contemporary rooms. Fresh milk in the fridge is a simple but great example of the thoughtfulness of the hosts. The breakfasts are exceptional with a great range of starters (cereals, fresh fruit salads, granola, etc) and a good range of main breakfast items to pick and choose from. Delightful start to the day. Evening meals are excellent high standard. Really good hand pulled ales and a tasty wine menu. Our latest stay was sadly only one night, our next will be much longer. There is much to do nearby in stunning Derbyshire. Great walks from the pub including the reservoir nearby. Chatsworth, Bolsover, There are car, tram and steam train museums nearby. Caverns, Lead Mines to delve into. Matlock Heights and lovely towns and rolling hills plus old rail trails. This is a great place to explore from but also not far from M1 and A38 to get here too. We have been many times and not run out of things to do yet!
Its always sad to leave the fine food, relaxing ambience that the professional team have created here. But the joy is that we know we will be back in the future.
The setting, the room and staff.
The breakfast could’ve improved. Better quality ingredients and scrambled eggs too soft and undercooked for my taste. Twinnings herbal teas are not nice.
Everything was our 6th visit we will continue to return again and again the staff food location owners the room balcony makes for a very relaxing stay
Some of the lights in the bathroom need replacing ! A very minor detail just an observation really !
All excellent. Always a little dubious when booking somewhere I have never stayed before but The View exceeded all of my expectations. The suites have been well thought out with everything you could need.
Nothing
This was our second visit to The View as the facilities are great and the food exceptional.
The location was a little far from the areas of Derbyshire we were looking to explore.
Einfach perfekt, die Zimmer sind genauso schön wie auf den Fotos. Von der Terrasse hat man einen schönen Blick. Das Essen im Restaurant ist gut, ebenso das Frühstück. Sehr freundliches Personal.
Meals are excellent. Suites are well-designed and luxuriously furnished. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Location is great amid the green Devonshire dales, with a nearby lake famed for its birdlife.
Nothing
The suites were fabulous with a south west facing terrace. Great space and attention to detail.
All good.
The room was spotless, large (I loved the fact that we could watch a TV from a sofa and not just sitting on a bed) with a stunning view, and an added bonus of 'Real' milk in the fridge rather than the UHT capsules that you normally find. We only had the breakfast there but it was lovely, I especially enjoyed the Scottish Black Pudding. Staff were helpful and friendly, and I would definitely recommend this place.
Nothing, everything exceeded my expectation and it felt like home for two days
The room was simply gorgeous, food was so lovely, staff was so friendly.
A very enjoyable one night stay. The room and view from it were exceptional as was the food at our evening meal and breakfast.
The property was spotless, very relaxing and beautiful views.
Absolutely nothing I didn’t like about it.
Absolutely superb. Great room, super clean, amazing view across the valley. Quiet, with only the sounds of nature to keep us company. Restaurant & bar were both lovely, 2 local cask beers, in great condition. Friendly and caring staff and owners. Food & service at dinner & at breakfast was first class. Very difficult to fault anything at all.
We would have preferred ground coffee in the room rather than instant.
Spacious, clean, great location, great breakfast
Diner was very good

Exceptional experience, the staff, room, food, drink and service we received. A wonderful luxury escape.
Couldn't fault the service and experience, highly recommend
The views were stunning and the accomodation was very clean and comfortable. Staff were all very friendly and the food was amazing.
If you want a relaxing time away, with a great view across the valley, night sky (weather permitting), good food, friendly atmosphere, tentative staff then the The View is the place to stay.
Big room with a good view across the valley. Great food and the best breakfast for some years.
Really struggling to think of anything.
Spacious and beautiful surroundings

Staff very pleasant and helpful from arrival to departure. Room very good , large and clean with lovely views from the balcony. Ate in restaurant that evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. Breakfast freshly cooked to order.
Nothing
A fantastic room with fridge, sofas and private balcony with a wonderful view . A comfortable bed and large en-suite bathroom. A very pleasant restaurant with excellent food and brilliant service. Very friendly and efficient staff.
Nothing
The room is really spacious clean and provides a great view
Wifi didn’t work at all in the evening. I had to cancel all my zoom calls and moved immediately to the other hotel To be honest wifi worked satisfactorily at 5 am in the morning but slowed down at 6:30 There were no hot shower, the water was simply lukewarm The safe didn’t work in the room at all Breakfast was not good: in such areas one expect that local produce would be used, and nicely cooked: the black pudding was seriously overcooked (or maybe the initial quality was low), the bread used for the toast was “chemical” one from the supermarket, tear port of the size of milk pot, and the whole atmosphere- ok there are no atmosphere in the pub
Accommodation was fantastic
I loved it
Everything you cannot fault this place this is our 5th visit and will continue to book this truly amazing place
Nothing
Extremely spacious room and excellent food (particularly appreciated fresh milk in the fridge). Very accommodating and cheerful staff.
Only minor quibble was the lack of hooks or chair in the bathroom.
excellent rooms with nice country views even in the winter ! good food served by very friendly staff parking plentiful handy for bakewell Chatsworth house
This is our fourth visit. Ideal for visiting Chatsworth xmas markets. The accommodation was as always excellent. The staff are brilliant, so friendly and attentive, the food was outstanding. Belly pork, steak & ale pie all 5 star 🌟

This is an absolutely fabulous place. Rooms are brand new, beautiful and super comfy. The pub and restaurant are fantastic. Excellent food and drinks. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful.

Room was lovely good breakfaat and great service
Mattress was very hard!
Brilliant room. The food for both dinner and breakfast was fantastic. The location and staff were great. Would highly recommend and stay there again.

Lovely location, beautiful views, delicious breakfast and very much enjoyed Evening meals too.
Warm welcome, massive room, comfy bed, nice restaurant.
Very warm in the room with no way of cooling. But this was July!
Excellent facilities, little touches like fresh milk in the fridge made the stay special. Breakfast was outstanding.
Stayed here numerous times. Excellent as always
Breakfast and evening meal very good
The weather
It was modern and very clean and spacious with amazing views Very close to Hardwick Hall, Chatesworth and Blackwell Great pub and excellent food
It was all good nothing negative
A lovely hotel, clean well decorated with a beautiful view. Comfy bed and great walk in shower
Great location, breakfast was plentiful, and very tasty. We had room service which was great, and Sunday dinner which was lovely. All the staff were very polite and friendly, and the house keepers were so kind as my partner was unwell for a couple of days (nothing to do with the venue), they kept us topped up with water and other essentials!
Nothing
Lovely room, beautiful views with large balcony to sit out on, first class food & excellent service. The staff could not have been more helpful.
