Shangri-La Boutique Bed & Breakfast

Shangri-la B&B is appropriately named! A true tropical oasis. Rose and staff are so warm and welcoming it almost feels like staying with friends or family. Nice meeting with other guests for breakfast on the screen porch to talk about our plans for the day and what we had already seen. Complimentary daily coffee, tea, cereal, breads, and spreads every morning. So many thoughtful touches: beach towels, chairs, bikes and helmets, and yoga mats and closets full of anything else you might need like hats or binoculars. Baskets of sunscreen and bug spray for guest use. Clothesline at the side of the house to hang wet swimwear. We had the luxurious Cayman Palm room, with an extremely comfortable bed and Jacuzzi tub. We also used the pool and hot tub outside frequently. We had a few minor issues with the room that were promptly remedied. The door had a key code lock. One morning we ordered the hot breakfast, which was served by Rose, another employee, and Rose’s mom who handed around fresh muffins other days too! (Like delicious green apple/cinnamon.). It included veggies omelets, hash browns, bacon and sausage, banana muffins, and a huge bowl of fresh fruit. It was so much food there was enough leftover to eat for breakfast the next day too! I communicated several times with Rose by email before our visit, and she was always available to contact during our stay through WhatsApp. She made us feel right at home, and gave us big hugs when we left. Thank you again for such a wonderful stay! :)

My wife and I enjoyed a fabulous week at Shangri-la. Located 1 minute off a major road artery, the property is ideally located where everything seems to be a 5 to 10 minute drive away: incredible ocean side restaurants, grocery / liquor stores, 7 Mile Beach and other amenities. The George Town airport is about 15 minutes away. The property offered all the amenities we could ask for: spacious suites (including a balcony off our suite), free parking, a quaint pool, access to a full kitchen and the patio BBQ all surpassed our expectations. More than all of the above, Miss Rose (the innkeeper) made us feel so welcome and ensured a most memorable stay. We have already booked for 2027!

This was our first trip to Grand Cayman but it won't be our last. The island itself is beautiful and the food scene is truly exciting but the icing on the cake was the incredible hospitality and comfort we experienced at the Shangri-La B&B. The venue is charming and while it's not within walking distance to those clear turquoise waters of Seven Mile Beach, it is less than 10 minutes by car. We loved that after walking the beach each morning we could leave the wall to wall hotels along the water and return to the tranquility of Shangri-la. Rose, couldn't have been more welcoming, gracious and helpful throughout our one week stay. She and Haltia brought the true people factor that you just don't always get in larger establishments. Thank-you both and we'll see you next year!

This was my second stay at Shangri-la and my first in the 2 bedroom Papaya Suite and it was perfect. 7 glorious nights in comfort and solitude. The location is perfect if you want to be close to 7 Mile Beach, but not in the thick of it. Ms. Rose and Ms. Haltia took care of every need we had and were extremely accommodating. The serenity and beauty of this place are really indescribable and yet we were a 5 min drive to Public Beach. The unit was perfect for 4 sisters and was equipped with absolutely everything we needed - the washer and dryer made packing easier and the kitchen allowed us to stock up on groceries from Foster’s and eat in whenever we wanted. They also have all of the beach gear you need (including snorkel gear). We even walked to Tukka on night for delicious tacos and fed the birds - which happens everyday at 6:00pm. Ms. Rose also makes great morning coffee to go along with our toast and granola - which is included in your stay. I can’t see myself ever staying someplace else! 10/10 would recommend!

Shangri-la is a wonderful place to stay for your home away from home feeling. My husband and I stayed at Shangri-la for a week and we were very happy with the experience. We chose the breakfast plan and the food was excellent. Not only was the food excellent and plentiful, we also met other couples that stayed there and really enjoyed the camaraderie and friendliness of the place. The staff are kind and accommodating to your needs. Rose does an amazing job running the B&B. You really get to rest and relax at Shangri-la. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable.

Shangri-La Bed & Breakfast is truly a hidden gem! My husband and I had a wonderful stay and Rose was the perfect host. All of the staff there were very friendly and went out of their way to make our experience better. Rose went above and beyond several times during our stay! She helped us get a rental car, she drove us back to the B&B from a nearby restaurant and went out of her way to purchase me decaf coffee. Rose greeted us upon our arrival and gave us a tour of the grounds and gave us great information about where to visit, great restaurant recommendations, etc. There are two bikes on the property that you can use. We rode them to a local restaurant a couple of times during our stay. If you want a quiet, peaceful, relaxing place to stay that is close to 7 mile beach, this is your place. We appreciated the clean beach towels, sunscreen and bug spray that were available to us to use since we only brought a carry on bag. Shangri-La is well maintained and the rooms were very clean and nice. I would highly recommend staying here.

The staff was truly one of the highlights of our trip, with Rose being an exceptional host - incredibly hardworking, kind, and fun. Her mother, Venus, served us a fantastic breakfast every morning. Hatia's kindness stood out; they're truly beautiful people. The check-in process was warmly welcoming, and the room was tidied up daily for those who opted for the Shangri-La experience. Everything, including the pool and hot tub, was impeccably clean. The common areas were equipped with comfortable couches and a kitchen. Being just 3 miles from the beautiful Seven Mile beach, which l've ever seen, and within walking distance to Tucka restaurant where you can catch a bus to anywhere, made it even more special. Last week we had the pleasure of going to Cayman and staying at Shangr-la. Miss Rose was the perfect host - she made sure we had everything we needed and was warm and welcoming starting in the parking lot as soon as we arrived. The rooms were clean and comfortable and her Mom made delicious baked goodies in the morning! I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast and applaud Miss Rose for her fabulous care of all of her guests.

The reviews are true - this is a gem of a place in Grand Cayman up on West Bay. Fantastic attention to detail, tastefully furnished rooms and lounge area, super facilities with the pool and loungers and the most amazing value compared with the resorts on 7 Mile Beach. The suites are incredibly spacious, spotless and super quiet. If you order breakfast, they are large, freshly cooked, beautifully presented and above all very, very delicious. Bicycles available to cycle to local restaurants on 7 Mile Beach ( which we did) which is all super easy, safe and great fun. Sunset on West Bay Beach was a highlight, as was ‘Calypso’ and its Sticky Toffee Pudding a mere 900meters to the east. So what’s the best bit of detail you need to know? Rose! Rose is the amazing hostess who runs and manages the Shangri - La Boutique B&B. She is so attentive, helpful, genuine and fun that the ‘vibe’ of this gem of a place is driven by her enthusiasm for life and her very successful business. She is standout. If we come back diving in Grand Cayman, then we are coming back to stay here for the facilities and to meet Rose again. She is a life tonic and the Shangri -La is the best hidden gem on Grand Cayman.

Shangri-La was truly a home away from home. I had a condo in West Bay, right down the road, since 2009 and am currently waiting for my new condo to be built. I last minute called to book for that day and asked to book on a day to day basis as I might be traveling to Cayman Brac or stay with friends. I didn’t want to do either!! I wanted nothing more than to stay at Shangri-La. Rose and the entire staff are amazing. They truly went above and beyond to accommodate me. Rose offered to wait up late for my arrival, checked in frequently (I wasn’t sure of my departure date and ended up staying my entire intended stay…plus one extra week!) or relied almost immediately. The grounds are beautiful and serene, the perfect tucked away hidden gem. Loved lounging in the hammock and always having fresh beach towels daily. I wish I was still there. Even when my condo is finished I plan on doing a staycation and will have all my guests that visit stay there.

So relaxing staying here—what a gem! Shangrila Bed and Breakfast is peaceful, welcoming, and truly a hidden treasure. The crew are so responsive and respectful, specially the manager rosemarie. Shangri-la is one of the best guesthouses I've ever stayed at! The location is easy to get to and close to several attractions and restaurants in Grand Cayman. Every time I stay at Shangri-la I am welcomed like family! Rose is an amazing host and the home made breakfast is outstanding. The location is great and peaceful. The atmosphere is clean and the rooms are a vibe. The value of it is very reasonable and be ready to hear roosters as their noise level can wake you up. The service is spectacular and the amenities are fly. I’d go back for sure.

This was a perfect choice for our trip to Grand Cayman. The property is very well maintained and all the employees are very friendly and helpful. We appreciate Rose, Chris, and the housekeeper (who I only saw from a distance and didn't get a chance to exchange names) who made our stay stress free. The location is great. It's close to dive and snorkeling spots, restaurants,and grocery shops. I liked being close to seven mile beach but away from the crowds.

Stayed at Shangri-La with my friends who were visiting from the US. The Papaya Suite we stayed at was spacious and comfortable. The neighborhood was also quiet and accessible (just at the end ofthe bypass road). Thank you, Rose for accommodating us!

I would highly recommend this hotel. It is truly charming, well kept, fair priced, and is an easy drive from the airport, as well as with 15 minutes of multiple beach and restaurant locations. We had a great stay at Shangri-La! The rooms were nice and comfortable, but what really stood out was the staff(especially Ms. Rose) they were super friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Would definitely come back once visiting the Cayman Islands!

We've found our new home when visiting Grand Cayman. This little hotel is perfect. It's in a quiet, safe residential neighborhood away from the craziness of Seven Mile Beach, but a very quick drive to get there. There's a new Rubis right down the street for snack and drink runs. The grounds were immaculate, the pool and hot tub were great to relax in at the end of the day. I was afraid it would be buggy being on the lake, but it wasn't at all. It's small, so it's never overrun with people like the big hotels. The breads and spreads with coffee and tea for breakfast are the perfect start to the day. Rose is amazing, she came out to greet us and made sure we knew where everything was, and the room was made up fresh every day. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning cold, and there was even fresh ice in the freezer for us. We can't wait to come back.

We were so delighted that we decided to stay in the West Bay Area. Shangri-La B &B is charming and homey. Rose is the manager and is very friendly. She gave us the property tour and hints on food and activities. There are bikes to ride, and equipment for the beach (like snorkels). It’s good to rent a car for the island. Taxis are pricey. Our room was perfect and near the pool. We will certainly return here on our next Cayman visit.

Before I booked my stay I read so many reviews about their amazing host Rose and how she made their stay feel like a home away from home. When I tell you, they were correct, they were 100% correct! The room and amenities are great and I loved swimming in the pool and hearing all the sounds of nature. It’s clean and quaint and has great energy. But, what made my stay the best was being hosted by Rose. She demonstrates a high level of professionalism and passion for her job. Her attention to detail and proactive actions to ensure you have everything you need is exceptional! The breakfast is fabulous! I felt like I was at her home having breakfast! I travel often for business and chose this location to get a new experience. I will absolutely be back and can’t wait to “come home” again!

Rose runs the place with the help of her husband, mother and a few others. They were absolutely incredible.They went way above and beyond in helping .e with a y challenges. It was a beautiful place with lots of other very friendly guests. I would highly reccomend this place.

OMG, I'm absolutely OBSESSED with the staff!!! Miss Rose and Miss Haltia are literally the BEST!!! The personalized service they provided was TOP-NOTCH!!! From the delicious breakfast to the genuine care they showed us and our room, it's clear they truly care about their guests!!! Hands down, no contest!!! And the ambience? Absolutely breathtaking!!! It feels like a total escape from reality!!! The Papaya Room was stunningly beautiful and one-of-a-kind, with an unbeatable view of the pond (hello, adorable turtles!!!) and West Bay!!! I had the most incredible time, and I'm already counting down the days until I can come back!!! These lovely ladies and the amazing experience have officially made me a guest for life!!!

This was my second time staying at Shangri-la and it was just as pleasant as I remembered. Everything is clean, well stocked, and inviting. I felt safe, welcomed, and provided for. Having coffee on the patio listening to the fountains and birds was the most peaceful way to wake up. With my rental car it was only a maximum of 15 minutes away from the airport and 10 minutes easily from everything I wanted to do! I love this special space!

I have now stayed here a few times and wouldn’t book anywhere else . Rose is absolutely the best hostess and nothing is too much trouble for her . The rooms are all clean , comfortable and well equipped . The pool and gardens are so peaceful and relaxing. Staying here is like stepping into a little oasis of calm .

Our stay at Shangri-La B &B on Grand Cayman was very nice. The house is big and beautiful, on the bank of a man-made lake. The pool was so nice, hot tub as well and our room. Everything was just as it is described and worth your stay there. The staff are incredibly helpful and gracious. We used their bikes and helmet to get around. This was one of the best B&Bs I've ever stayed at. Rose was extremely friendly and was exceptionally kind and sociable. She greeted us every morning before our daily adventures and she would even catch us in the evenings to see how we were doing! The room itself was so comfortable, and the back yard was a delight to spend time in. I laid in the hammock by the water every single evening. Truly, a relaxing get away!

What can we say—this was our third year staying at the Shangri-La in Cayman, and we missed it more than we expected. Rose and Altea are absolutely wonderful. So warm, welcoming, and always a joy to see around the house :) Rose and her team really go the extra mile to make sure every guest feels at home. The hotel had everything I needed to rest and enjoy the island.

We received a wonderful and friendly welcome from Rose upon our arrival. We were given a detailed tour of the premises and all the amenities. The room was fantastic, the location was perfect, and the service was amazing.

It was an all-round, in every aspect, perfect stay. A glimpse of paradise. I was in need of rest and retreat. Shangri-La and the warm, welcoming ROSE and her team made my 4 nights, 5 days in the Cayman Islands more than I could have wished for. From the beach, the inviting pool, coffee and cereal for breakfast, bikes if one wanted, . . . nothing was missing. I can highly recommend it.

It was a quick getaway but had such a relaxing time. I previously stayed at the Ritz, which was great of course, but it this place was more homely and the staff was great! I didn’t really do much else but hang around Shangri-La and I was okay with that! I had the pool and also had food delivered. Also, I loved seeing the chickens roaming around in which you wouldn’t see this at a resort. I will definitely stay again!

Wow! I can’t think of enough words to describe how pleasant our stay was. This beautiful B&B was very accommodating and stunning, not to mention a 5 min drive from the most beautiful seven mile beach. Rose was so wonderful and made our stay that much warmer and better. We plan on coming back and only staying at this accommodation! There is a stunning pool and hot tub plus snorkeling and beach gear you can borrow to take on your beach trips. 10/10 stay here! The property is away from the main attractions. You need a car to move around the island. The place is well maintained and it is exactly as shown in the website. Room so roomy and comfortable beds & pillows.

Rose is AMAZING! I have never met a B&B host who was so sweet! She went above & beyond to accommodate us during our stay. The room was clean & comfortable. It was also great that they had snorkeling gear & beach chairs to use when we went to 7 mile beach (which was about a 10 minute drive away) The only reason I gave 4 stars was a neighbors dog was constantly barking during the day & the roosters (which are pretty much EVERYWHERE on the island) started up each morning around 5am.

Hidden place in Westbay! so peaceful and quiet! Perfect place to rest very relaxing. Rose ( Manager) always make the best coffee every morning with free pastries plus the variety of different kind of creamer and its free!! and also the pool has a jacuzzi its a must to try after a tiring day!

Staying at Shangri-La was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made as a solo traveler. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely safe and welcomed. Ms. Rose went above and beyond to make me feel at home, even helping with my luggage upon arrival. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the hospitality is unmatched. We so loved our stay at the Shangri-La B&B. And hoping to some day return. From the moment we entered we were welcomed by Rose and were made to feel at home. It is a beautiful relaxing spot that is very well kept. It is truly a hidden gem on the west side of the island. I would recommend you have a car to enjoy everything the island has to offer from restaurants, shopping and beautiful beaches which are all within a few minutes drive. It is also only 15mins from the airport. We enjoyed spending time at the beautiful pool and meeting other guests. We also ordered a breakfast which was delicious.

This was a perfect stay for my wife and I. We had planned this trip with the intention of visiting multiple beaches around the island throughout the week. While this is not right on the beach, it was an easy, 5 minute drive to 7 Mile Beach and never had a problem finding somewhere to park for beach access. There were 2 wonderful restaurants within walking distance to the BnB. We visited them many times and were always happy with the food and service. The pool area was always a great place to come home to, kept very clean and the hot tub was a great place to relax in the evening. Finally, Rose was a wonderful Inn Keeper. Full of information, very accomodating, and always making sure we had what we needed to enjoy our vacation. I would recommend Shangri-La to anyone looking for a similar experience!

The grounds were nicely kept. It was quaint with a lovely pool and hot tub. Great breeze by the pond. Convenient to good restaurants and about 5-7 minutes to 7-mile beaches via car.

Impeccable cleanliness and very attentive staff! If you plan on going to Cayman and need a location to set out from each day to visit beaches, trails and other sights I would highly recommend. The shared pool and hot tub area was quiet and clean with hammocks and loungers available without the crowds or bugs. I can't say enough about the warmth of the hostess. We made a mistake with our safe and she carried a new one to our room within a couple minutes! We did not do a full breakfast each morning but bagels and bread and coffee were still provided. Fantastic stay, thank you Rose!

Shangri-La Bed and Breakfast is a great property! Lush landscaping and waterfront property with a pool and hot tub. Rose, the innkeeper, was amazing and friendly. She inquired after us constantly and was so accommodating. The neighborhood seems mixed development, some less well maintained properties and apartments mixed in with Shangri-La. As we drove in, we wondered if we were in the right place. You are further away from the action on the westside of Grand Cayman so be sure to rent a car. There is a resort fee and if you wish a full breakfast that’s extra, otherwise Rose sets out coffee and pastries. I would definitely recommend.

Beautiful and well kept property, very convenient and with attentive staff.

We stayed at this property while in Grand Cayman and it was perfect! Rosa made sure we were comfortable and taken care of the entire time. Close enough to the main attractions/beach without being in the middle of everything. Grounds are well kept. The best little getaway! If we ever return to Grand Cayman, we will be returning to Shangri-La.

Rose and staff made our trip enjoyable and relaxing. Provided a wealth of knowledge that made our trip extra memorable. Our room was very clean and well kept and felt like our home away from home. The pool and bbq area was a bonus. Looking forward to coming back in the near future.

Property was very comfortable and the host was super friendly. Pool area and outside relaxing was great! Nice restaurants within 5 minutes and 7-mile beach also less than 10 min away. Optional full breakfast was delicious! I would definitely return and stay here in the future. The only negative feedback is that it is located behind a couple of local houses which could be cleaned up but the B&B property was beautiful.

Absolutely stunning place and excellent service. The positive reviews are true so don’t second guess when booking. Worth every penny and you’ll definitely feel at home. The room was spacious and clean and even better with the balcony. Breakfast is freshly done every morning with daily shopping for the next day’s meal and Rose was able to provide alternatives for foods that I don’t eat (I especially loved the blueberry French toast). Would recommend you either have your own car or arranged pick up though, but it’s a quick drive to the main areas. Thank you very much Rose and family. If I’m ever back in Cayman, I’d stay again.

I apologize I didn't submit this EXCELLENT review sooner. Life gets busy. Anyhow, this was an amazing B&B. Rose was SO helpful and kind. Beautiful room, walkable location to some excellent restaurants. I love this island to begin with and was absolutely impressed with this property. We WILL be back. Highly recommend.

This place is a quiet oasis from the busy towns. Staff are so nice and accommodating, there's even swimming gear you can use when you go to the beach, free of charge. For additomal fees, they serve breakfast that is delicious! Rose is the nicest lady and i will definitely come back again, and would recommend to friends!

My friend and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Shangri-La Bed and Breakfast and I must say, it was a truly exceptional experience. From the moment we stepped into the premises, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism. The room has a cozy atmosphere that made us feel right at home. They always clean the room everyday and make sure we have fresh towels everyday. What truly sets Shangri-La apart is the impeccable service. Rose was very friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. Whether it was providing local recommendations or promptly attending to any requests, her attention to detail was impressive. She provided everything we need such as beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkeling gears, yoga mat and even sunscreen and insect repellent. Overall, I highly recommend Shangri-La Bed and Breakfast to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay with exceptional service. I will definitely be returning on my next visit to the area.

Very easy access, the host was very nice. The hotel is clean and comfortable.

Beautifully maintained B&B with all comforts of home. Rose, the innkeeper, greeted us daily to make sure we were comfortable or just to say hello. She was a joy and a pleasure to work with. Location is quiet, close enough to all West Bay amenities and convenient for dining and shopping. Thank you Rose for making our stay so memorable!

Rose, the innkeeper, went above and beyond to provide the best service waaay beyond our expectations. If possible, we would give the service 20 stars. We don’t think Ritz Carlton can come close when it comes to the service. The breakfast was great every day. Very good value.

A lovely place for a rest away from the busy beaches and tourist sites. But, nothing is far from anywhere on Grand Cayman, so a short drive puts you in the center of everything. Staff is friendly and accommodating, room was comfortable and clean. I recommend this location without hesitation.

Didn’t know what to expect but very happy. It’s more like a guest house. Good sized room and very quiet

Host was extremely accommodating with multiple difficult requests. The room was refreshed every day and we are messy unpackers. Coming back and having everything organized was such a gift and an extra mile. New beach towels every time we used them. Full kitchen in the common area if you don't feel like eating out. Outdoor patio with very effective netting to enjoy the fountain and lake, but not the mosquitoes. The hot tub is not a difficult to use or access gimmick of the listing, it is very easy and amazing to use. We had a hot water issue which the host fixed within 24 hours. Gorgeous landscaping and quaint, if a bit cozy, rooms. However, the property is priced accordingly. Tukka restaurant is nearby which is great for dinner. Instant access to the highway to get to 7 mile beach quickly. The mattress in the Bougainvillea room runs a bit firm; extra pillows were given upon request.

The property is great. However, the breakfast and the bicycles that are advertised at booking are not available. They failed to mention that very important part. It wasn't until I received check-in instructions that they mentioned these things were unavailable. The price should be adjusted accordingly, but otherwise, it's a good place.

I was very happy with the amenities and the items available to us. There were bikes, snorkel equipment, lawn and beach chairs, and other things that we were able to use.

Very quiet, very clean, excellent breakfast. The staff are so personable. Everything you need to go to the beach is there and no rental fees! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet relaxing vacation.

Nice clean quaint place off the beaten path. Fawn bent over backwards to make you feel at home and helped with anything she could.

The property location was absolutely great!! West end of the island. It makes for a great base to explore with several nice beaches with in three miles. My wife and I spent eight nights here and had a wonderful time!! We stayed in the mango room which has a full small kitchen and a rather large living space, of all the rooms they offer it might not be the most beautifully decorated but it was clean and met all of our needs. One of the reasons the property is so successful is because of who runs the day to day operations of the B & B and that would be Fawn who is an absolute sweetheart!! She was a wealth of information about the island and restaurants, activities and just a genuine all around good people person!! She definitely added to the fun of our stay!! The breakfast each morning was great and varied between egg dishes and pancakes!! They have a small pool on the property that overlooks a man made lake that is very relaxing. If your on the fence about this property don’t be!! Pull the trigger and book it !! You won’t be disappointed!! Again a special Thank You to Fawn and the girls that took care of our breakfast and room.

Overall great property, few maintenance issues that are minor, like running water in toilet, water pressure in the shower. Nice location and great staff, I would return without hesitation. .
