The location was near family

The room was not very clean, the shower had confetti on the floor when my mum arrived and the bathroom floor was dirty, for the 3 days she was there her room was not made up hence was never cleaned while she was there.

Posizione comoda in quanto scelta da noi per essere vicini all'aeroporto di Edimburgo per il rientro. Ideale quindi per questa esigenza. Quasi a metà strada fra Glasgow e Edinburgo, con più o meno mezz'ora di macchina si arriva in una delle 2 città. Fondamentale avere un mezzo proprio.

Staff are so friendly and accommodating, rooms are very clean and comfortable.

We stayed here while we went to the Edinburgh Castle Military Tattoo. Lovely hotel staff. Very helpful with local knowledge of sustainable transport links. The lady who checked us in made sure her team knew we were very late arrivals and very early departures. Seamless service and communication.

Me & My Girlfriend, My Mate & His Girlfriend stayed at the Hotel Saturday night / Sunday morning (1st / 2nd August) . We arrived late as we had not long landed at Edinburgh Airport after a Holiday in Turkey . As soon as we checked in Maria on reception and Jason (sorry if names are wrong ) couldn’t have been more welcoming. We were peckish and asked if there was a vending machine. Maria walked off and came back with four pies and said “I hope these help” . Then when I went back down to reception to ask for more biscuits, Jason found me some and some bags of crisps too . The breakfasts were made to order and not the usual stodgy stuff piled up in trays . And once again all the staff were friendly & polite . I work up and down the country and have stayed in plenty of different hotels , this hotel restored some faith in the hospitality sector . Staff were a credit to the owner . P.s we found the rooms clean & tidy and the beds comfy too !!

Bed very comfy

Nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. My room was modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bathroom appeared to have been recently refurbished – and it was nice to have a bath to soak in (with so many hotels these days just having showers). The restaurant food was good and reasonably priced, and the freshly cooked-to-order Full Scottish Breakfast was excellent.

Handy location

There was a wedding on the Friday I was there and the disco at night was pounding some unrecognisable bass music. Beware if there’s a wedding on unless you’re a guest

The staff were amazing. We had our mothers 90th birthday there and used the hotel as our base. The staff very well organised and couldn't have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definately stay there again .

the hotel was conveniently located for us . we had a spacious ,comfortable room, very kindly upgraded for us which was also very clean and tidy . the staff we met were friendly and couldn`t do enough for us . breakfast was great ,there was a good selection of continental options and our full scottish was very tasty ,with no long wait .we were served in the conservatory area which was also very clean tidy and quiet . just what was needed to allow us to enjoy a relaxed sunday morning. we would happily return.

this is not a complaint ,its a very small thing ....the room we had faced a busy road even into the wee hours, meaning we couldnt really open the window when the room was quite warm . there was a fan ,we didnt want to get up to put it on so it wasnt that much of an issue was it .

Cannot believe that you do not have a lift

The hotel itself is what you would expect from a standard hotel, but what made my stay exceptional was the staff. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, every single member of staff I encountered was friendly, helpful and genuinely welcoming. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble. I don’t say this because I’m someone who makes lots of demands, but we’ve all stayed in places where asking for advice or assistance can sometimes feel like you’re interrupting someone’s day. That definitely wasn’t the case here. The staff made me feel comfortable, valued and welcome throughout my entire stay, and that really does make all the difference.

The only downside for me was the lack of air conditioning, although I appreciate this is fairly common in hotels of a certain age. However, a fan was provided in the room, which did help somewhat and was appreciated.

Great staff super helpful, good location, parking was ok always worried about vehicle parked in open car park and no security.

Front of house staff were excellent during my stay, very accommodating and friendly . The hotel itself was comfortable, clean and had what I needed throughout my stay. I would stay here again.

Room wasn’t cleaned after our first night. For a hotel this far from Edinburgh it was expensive although I believe it was because of the bank holiday weekend and Edinburgh marathon

Clean, friendly. Buffalo Farm near Auchtertool in Fife is a must. We learned that The Princess Royal is the patron of the Royal Scots and has spoken at a reunion here. The 4th Tank Regiment also meet here for reunions. We learned what a Soroptimist is.

Room ok. Evening food good. However their literature stating breakfast until 10.00 is inaccurate. Arrived at 9.05 to be told breakfast had finished. Despite being only 5 minutes past their shut off time and being shown that they are advertising breakfast til 10.00 was offered what was left of continental options only. In response to complaint I was told “ ok, I’ll tell them”
