Hyatt Midway was very clean. Staff was exceptional. Room was comfy and spacious. Breakfast was fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay!
As soon as you walk in it is a very bright and clean environment. The room was very spacious and comfortable. I had a 2 queen bed with sleeper sofa and it was very roomy and clean. With a mini fridge. It also had blackout curtains so you’re able to enjoy your sleep. The bathroom was bright and very clean. Breakfast was phenomenal and fresh with a coffee station. Not to mention it has a Starbucks inside open 24 hours! How convenient for us coffee lovers! Overall a great stay.
Hyatt Place Midway was fabulous. I was stranded due to flight delays, tired and stressed. The front desk team was so gracious and helpful. Room was ima image. Breakfast was really good with lots of hot options.
Quick overnight trip with teens. Bathroom wasn't extremely clean (dirty inside door handle, brown stain on shower curtain + wall. Room smelled like a locker room. Requested (at time of booking online) an accommodating room closer to the top floor, and didn't get either. Felt safe, and it was quiet. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was ok. Appreciate that they had "to go" boxes/silverware if we needed.
This Hyatt is conveniently located to Midway. It has very convenient shuttles that come frequently. The breakfast was great - lots of options, fresh items, great coffee, healthy items, etc. The staff is very nice and helpful. The facilities are nice as well, with a fitness center and small bar. All in all a great place to stay if you want to be near the airport or in that general area.
Well i only write the truth and if it was not a good this time a bug was found in bathroom, The bacon has returned as crumbs nobody eats bacon as crumbs .Return it to strips many agreed at the breakfast table. The bug situation was uncalled for a roach or water bug unknown the girl at the front desk said she would notify a manager i never heard a word .To maintain a good status a Hotel must strive for excellence. Also during my stay a person had three dogs! Yes three in the breakfast area no staff said a word this is unacceptable.I was in room 128 and a party was very loud at the banquet hall nobody never contacted me about any problems that complained about.James at the front desk was great with customer service. Also there should be plastic gloves in the food ares folks were getting food touching untensils after scracthing there head and everything else step your game or this Hotel will lose it's 5 star status.
The room we had reserved was not available upon check in. One of our family members had to sleep on the floor, because we were unable to book a different hotel on such short notice.:(
Overall good experience. Clean accommodations, friendly staff and timely transportation. Working amenities. Beautiful space.
Clean place, friendly staff and great breakfast. Plenty of parking. Lots of places to eat nearby. Would stay here again.
Great hotel at Chicago Midway-super front desk - great staff and well kept hotel. Great representative of Hyatt Branding. Personnel were all well above average in character and professionalism.
Great stay with my kid. Quiet room. Zero complaints. Clean and felt like newer hotel. Easy access to airport. Close to Wintrust stadium. Great Chicago pizza nearby.
This is my second time using this hotel and it was a pleasant experience. The room was clean and I was able to sleep throughout the night. Check-in process was smooth and our questions were answered in a welcoming manner.
We stayed there for our son's basketball tournament. Very close to Midway. Like super close. Definitely will be back. The breakfast Definitely saved us money.
Hotel was, clean staff was primarily, helpful, and responsive, however, when checking in, e was not very welcoming . Hotel can use some updates: linen, air in restrooms, add microwave in rooms and air in restrooms
When we arrived at 8:00PM we were told our room was not ready yet even though we had selected a 3:00 PM check in time. The man at the desk tried to “upgrade” us to a king room but with a family of 5 that doesn’t work. It was poor planning on the hotels behalf. They sell rooms for during the day for Southwest Airlines and then our room wasn’t cleaned. Also, there were water rings on the stool in the room that came off when I cleaned them, which meant they hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived which made me question the cleanliness of the room.
We had previously requested synthetic bedding due to severe allergies. Upon checking in and beginning to unpack, we discovered that the pillows provided were filled with down, with feathers visibly protruding. Furthermore, the comforter had noticeable stains, including fresh yellow and brown marks. We also observed hairs on the sheets and a white powder on the desk area. When we requested new bedding, we received a new comforter and pillows, but the bed was not re-made, and one of the pillowcases was left on the sofa. Regarding dining, we chose to eat at a neighboring establishment as the hotel offered limited options at rather high prices. We left before breakfast was ready, but it would've been cool if they had coffee and grab-and-go bags with fruit or granola bars since they offer a free buffet breakfast that a lot of people probably leave too early to enjoy. The hotel's proximity to Midway Airport is excellent, and the shuttle service operates with good frequency.
Great hotel! I usually stay at DoubleTree or HGI in the MDW area, but this hotel blew them away. Friendly staff, comfortable and quiet rooms, welcoming environment.
Very nice hotel close to Chicago Midway Airport. A lot of shops and restaurants on the main road (S Cicero Ave). We ended up renting a car because of the store/restaurant distances.
Very quiet and clean. Close to midway airport. We heard no planes or street noise. Beds and couches were very comfortable. Honestly, best night's sleep of our whole trip. While we ate before we arrived, the area is full of Chicago small chain restaurants like Giordano's and Malnotti's. Breakfast was adequate but beautifully presented.
Great customer service but restore the bacon Back to the breakfast menu.we had both sausage and bacon before .customer service was great with keysha and Liz"
Breakfast was not automatically included in the room rate and when offered at the desk it was $11 per person which was substantially more than the room would have been with breakfast included in the room rate. The hotel was unmoving on reaching a mutually acceptable accommodation. So we had McDonald's breakfast for two days. The luggage rack was broken and the refrigerator worked very poorly and there were no towels in the pool area, which was very small. And there was a ghetto argument in the hallway at 3 a.m. Other than that, it was good.
This hotel is the best! Parking is paid for with your room reservation (no need to pay for parking through a separate app); the staff is friendly and helpful; shuttle service is top notch with friendly, on time drivers. The shuttle driver always asks which hotel you are returning to, but be sure to get on the correct shuttle at Midway Airport. Hyatt, Double Tree and another hotel have their own shuttles. All other hotels at the Midway Hotel Complex use another shuttle service (all shuttles look similar - look for the Hyatt Place logo on the side of the bus).
Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Temperature was easily controlled. Front desk staff was accommodating and friendly. Shuttle to Midway Airport arrived every 20 minutes and was timely and efficient. A good value and would return again!
We had a short, but pleasant stay. Our check-in went smoothly. The location is a big selling point, considering it’s less than a half mile from Midway airport. There’s many nearby restaurants. The rooms weren’t bad at all. Since we packed tropical, we couldn’t take advantage of their pool. When we fly out of Midway next, we’ll be staying here again.
Was fluing out of Midway Airport to Miami for Thanksgiving. Hotel was close toairport, room rates were competitive, monitored parking available, shuttle bus to/rrom airport 3X/hour; it ended up very well.
We stayed here for a night before flying for a vacation from Midway airport. We booked a stay with long term parking package, which allowed us to park the car there for 14 days. They have 24x7 shuttle to the airport. The room was neat and tidy. We haven’t used any other facilities. Would certainly recommend.
Having stayed at several Hyatt hotels during our cross-country road trip, we were looking forward to a relaxing five-night stay in a Premium King room at the Hyatt Place Chicago Midway, but unfortunately, this hotel was a significant disappointment compared to our previous experiences. The first major issue concerned housekeeping. Upon checking in, we were not advised that housekeeping service was only offered every second day. We had booked through a third-party site (Expedia) which explicitly listed housekeeping as daily. While we understand policies change, it is the hotel’s responsibility to ensure information on all booking platforms is accurate or to clearly communicate discrepancies at check-in. This lack of transparency was frustrating. Upon entering our Premium King room, the issues compounded. The room was poorly prepared: the bed was untucked, there were no cups in the bathroom, and essential amenities like body lotion or a shower cap were missing (it did provide in-shower dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash). Furthermore, the dual toilet paper holder held only one partly used roll. Maintenance issues also affected our comfort. The shower doors did not stay properly closed, and the shower itself drained slowly. We also attempted to use the in-room instructions to cast content to the TV, but the steps did not work as described. When we finally received the scheduled every-other-day housekeeping service, it was incomplete. The service failed to replace the used cups with clean ones, and no additional roll of toilet paper was provided, meaning we were still left without essential supplies. Overall, the lack of attention to detail, poor room preparation, and fundamental service miscommunication left us less than impressed. For five nights in a premium room, we expected a higher standard of service and amenity supply. Given the numerous alternative lodging options in the Midway airport area, we would strongly recommend choosing one of them instead.
The Hyatt Place Chicago/Midway hotel was like an oasis in the desert for us after a horrible experience in a different hotel earlier in the week. Angel greated us with a pleasant smile and told us they had upgraded us to a specialty room. That was a welcome benefit we weren't expecting and a great way to show Hyatt cares about their guests. We had a minor issue with the plumbing and the toilet seat that was taken care of while we stepped out for dinner. When we got back to our room, everything was fixed and working fine. The hotel is within walking distance to a variety of restaurants and less about a 10 minute shuttle ride (on the 20s starting at the top of the hour) to Midway. We will definitely be staying here again when we are in the local area and need to catch an early morning flight or want to chill before an afternoon flight (check out was at noon).
Location only
Ok the check in was horrible, the bed was so uncomfortable
The breakfast was good and 3 times in the hour there was a shuttle to the airport (where the metro to downtown leaves)
The staff was pretty amazing - they were friendly, welcoming, and supportive! I definitely recommend staying here! I visited from out of state and stayed for three days to visit a friend.
Everything
Parking was efficient and check in was speedy.
The room that I had was great it was spacious enough for us. Other than that everything was a problem! It was a wait for towels to our room, no towels in the pool area. The pool is small and it’s very dark in there. They’re not many options for snacks i didn’t see one vending machine. The bar isn’t quite what you expect. Overall a one night stay is ok but for longer than one night I suggest the DoubleTree across the way
Personal super hilfreich und freundlich auch wenn es darum geht wie man am besten zum weiter entfernten Flughafen o'Hare kommt.
My room was very clean and the staff was very helpful. I enjoyed my week stay.
Clean spacious room. Very close to airport with a shuttle service that ran regularly. Coffee ready nice and early! I would definitely stay here again.
rooom was clean but using comcast to view programs was a departure from the last time. no live tv
Very comfortable couches in the sitting area in the rooms. The frosted glass bathroom door was a little disconcerting though. The rooms are truly soundproof, which is important given how close the hotel is to the airport.
The hotel is very clean. All the staff were nice. Our room was very clean. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. Breakfast is really good. So many selections! View from our room was awesome
Hotel was clean and relatively quiet given its proximity to Midway Airport and being on a major street.
We only stayed for one night for a concert but I would defiantly stay again for longer stays!!
The staff was very professional and courteous. However, the elevator was down and they only offered rooms on the 5th FL. Later offered a room on the 2nd floor which I took as I was attending funeral services and did not have time to relocate. Elevator was not fixed by the morning time as stated. Room missing some minimal items like hand soap. Property was clean.
I got a call at 530 pm while I was on the rental car bus at the airport. They wanted to tell me the elevator was out and I would be on the 4th or 6th floor. Was that OK? How do you deal with this at this last minute. I thought well maybe it was a last minute issue. IT WAS NOT. THE ELEVATOR HAD BEEN OUT FOR 2 WEEKS. They could have allowed me an opportunity to change my plans in plenty of time but instead they waited until I really had no choice. The room was not very clean as well. Very disappointing experience that was avoidable.
Front desk staff was very pleasant and the room was nice
Nor much..
The room I booked was not given to me. I had to settle not a very.hood feeling.
I am very pleased with my stay, staff always friendly and accommodating. Will definitely stay again.
It was nice!
Nothing!
The hotel has a good shuttle bus to the airport.
Upon arrival, we were given a room with a double bed and a sofa bed, instead of the room with two double beds and a sofa that we had booked. We had to fit five people into a small room. It was only on the second day that we were moved to the room we had actually purchased. I believe such a situation is unacceptable
Very clean, inviting, and staff was friendly. Check-in was quick and rooms were comfortable. Breakfast was decent. I would just recommend going early if you can while food is warm. I think they had a microwave to heat stuff up, but breakfast was decent. They had a variety of options and a variety of drink options that are not offered in other places I have stayed. A Starbucks was built in as well which was wonderful. seating wasn’t an issue either. Quiet and relaxing. Would definitely stay again.
There wasn’t a microwave in the bedroom. That’s the only thing I didn’t like as I didn’t wanna go out to eat. I just want to heat some up in the microwave, but the bedroom didn’t offer it. I didn’t want to have to leave my room to go downstairs to try to heat my food up in the microwave. Only downfall
When we arrived we were told the elevator was out of service and had been for several days. So we had to carry the luggage up the stairs. Then the tv wouldn’t work so I tried to call front desk phone wouldn’t work. So I go down the stairs again. They tell me oh you have to hit 7 and then so other thing to use phone and the tv you have to hold down menu button till it’s green then go to live tv. I said don’t you think directions of how to use tv and phone should be in the room. The gentleman said yes I’ve been thinking we should do that. The room was really nice the workers were great. But the elevator being out and no directions for tv or phone at 227. A night I think it should of been better
Beds and pillows were good. Sheets clean. Bathroom was clean and ok. The room was quiet.
One elevator of two was not working, when we arrived. The other elevator was having intermittent function issues. We were told they would be fixed during the night. WE WERE ON THE SIXTH FLOOR! In the morning neither elevator worked. We are 77 and 78. My husband will have knee surgery next year, and I have balance issues due to nerve damage, so use a cane. We had to use the stairs. The hotel provided, cheerfully I must say, strong men to bring our luggage to the lobby.
Room was on the 4th Floor. Elevator not working for the entire stay.
Great stay. Hotel very clean and comfortable. Only negative was the elevator was out of service for most of the weekend.
Room was fine. Not great but no problems. Breakfast was very disappointing. Much better breakfast included in room rate at Drury Inns.
Elevator out and poor desk manager only one working not his fault but overworked and understaffed
Elevators were out. No staff to help to guests.
Elevator broken during entire stay. People climbing as much as 6 flights with their bags. No porter help offered. No discount or free night certificate. Staff nice under the circumstances.
I did not get to try much if it, since some dishes were not labeled and I wasn’t sure what they were. The coffee was good.
The elevators wasn’t working and the staff assigned me a sixth floor room and that was very awful with my luggage. Worse, there were four people behind the front desk, none doing anything, when I arrived. I remarked that it was quite a greeting party. The clerk said oh, they!re just here to hang out. The two men in uniform were clearly employees but at no time did either one offer to help me with my bags, despite the fact that they were doing nothing, just joking with the women clerks, and were young and strong men. The clerk even added that they were there to help with bags, but after I said I would struggle getting to the sixth floor on stairs, and that I would have to look for another hotel, she “found” a second floor room. Then, the men sauntered off, no one helping me at any time or offering to do so.
Ok hotel. Elevator did not work. Wish they would have let us know so we could have changed hotels.
I am a cardiac patient with limited mobility, and just checked in and out of this hotel two weeks ago. During my stay, there was no working elevator. Seeing that this was a holiday weekend, there was no place else to go. Management/owners should have been at the front desk to work with customers but left that work to lower level employees. I climbed and descended several flights of stairs with staff assistance and the assistance of other guests, but experienced elevated heart rate, shortness of breath and increased joint pain. I understand this is a recurrent problem at this location, and would advise elderly and disabled guests like myself to beware. At the same time, I beg Hyatt Corporate and local ownership to view this recurrent breakdown as the health and safety issue that it is. Honestly, I don't understand how local authorities have allowed this hotel to stay open with this dangerous situation in place. Please protect your guests, and replace those elevators.
Fix the elevators. Other than that, everything is ok
We checked in at midnight on 9/10/25 for our next day flight out of midway airport. Upon arrival we were notified that the elevators servicing the entire hotel are out and this has been “an ongoing issue for weeks”. No one notified us. No texts, calls or emails. We traveled with our 4 year old son, 5 suitcases, and were told the only room available was on the 6th floor. So my husband, 4 year old son, and I had to transport all our luggage up ourselves without any assistance, up 6 flights of stairs at midnight. What would a person with a disability, elderly, or those requiring assistance do? We have reported this to Hyatt corporate and do expect the entire stay comped, in addition to our parking. Who ever is the general manager of this hotel needs to get an elevator crew out here immediately , or shut down the hotel. I cannot imagine how this is legally allowed to operate when there is no elevator access for guests with disabilities, especially given your own front desk remarked upon check in that this has been going on for weeks! Update- apparently there are multiple reviews dating back 9months to elevator not working! This possesses a risk for those with mobility issues or those traveling with young children. Rooms 1 Service 1 Safety Unsafe and unpredictable for those with mobility issues if there is no working elevator. You may be required to climb up to 6 flights of stairs. If you have young children or mobility issues - do not book here. There are reviews that date back 9 months discussing the elevator issues! Front desk is aware of ongoing issues. Replace the elevator. At minimum, alert guests prior to their stay. This was not done for us.
Clean comfortable small quiet. DID NOT LIKE BEING INCONVENIENCED BY ELEVATORS NOT WORKING. The Hyatt Place did comp the $11 breakfast and a little larger END room close to the stairs.
Great stay, great location close to tons of food restaurants in walking distance. Close to airport. Good area. Hotel was clean, staff was nice, only issue was neither of the elevators works so we had to climb the stairs.
The hotel is lovely and clean but went to restaurant for a snack and drink and not great food and waited 30 min for someone to come back so we could pay
Staff has been wonderful and the space is very clean and updated!
This is my second time at this property. The location is right around the corner from midway and is near tons of restaurants and shops. The building and rooms are clean. I felt safe and the staff were really kind and welcoming. The breakfast is above average. I will definitely stay at this property again!
No elevators
Property was clean, however elevator was down most of my stay. Additionally, the bar was never fully operational they weren’t able to make drinks. Hyatt used to be slightly more prestigious, it’s decling for sure!
Flight canceled and had to spend night here. Got in at 11:30pm and left at 6:30. Only slept here. Comfortable bed and climate. I was most blessed by the compassionate clerk at check-in. It was a long and disappointing day. And I felt that, without me saying that, this clerk understood my pain. I have no complaints, but the empathy of that woman is what leads me to a 5-star rating of this hotel. Shuttle service also very good.
Elevators were not working , had to carry bags up To 5th floor after checkin & then also back down the stairs when checking out in the morming
Did not like the fact that breakfast was advertised as part of the room until you checked in and if your room price wasn’t adequate, they did not include breakfast and charged you $11 per person
very happy with everything it was perfect
The front was very helpful with any questions we had including transportation questions. Our stay was wonderful. It was quiet and very clean.
Everytbing was great for the Hyatt except 2 things. 1. Their elevator broke on day causing everyone to take the stairs for the ENTIRE weekend. And 2. They charged me incorrectly after an already expensive trip. Not good. Overall that makes the experience 3 out of 5 for me
My stay was pretty bad. The elevator didn’t work for 80% of the trip — an absolute pain when on the 5th floor and having to carry heavy luggage or water bottles, or when leaving/coming back to the hotel multiple times a day. Also, the keycards constantly stopped working for the whole room — we had to constantly go to the front desk to get new ones, multiple times a day. We were sure to not place the cards near any magnets/phones/other cards either.
Elevator wasn’t working all weekend, took 2 days to actually put a sign up saying so. Nobody cleaned our room during our 3 night stay. Would NOT recommend.
“I was scammed and they made me pay for two nights instead of one, both online and in person.
“I was scammed and they made me pay for two nights instead of one, both online and in person.
No microwave in room
Good facilities, staff nice, bed wasn't worth mentioning otherwise it was a nice hotel
Room was clean and very well put together definitely will stay again.
I loved the flavored water in the lobby, it was a super hot day and the receptionist saw me sweating and offered a fan to cool me off in that moment. I loved the computer access, and the bed comfortability, the little marketplace downstairs. The room was nice and it gave us the the rest we needed from a long trip.
I didn't like having to pay for breakfast, but it wasn't so bad. The thermostat kept turning on and off so it made it hard for me to stay sleep due to a need for noise.
We would 100% stay at the Hyatt Midway again! The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating, plus free short term onsite parking is a plus as other hotels charge nearby upwards of $30 even if you're parking for less than 12 hours! We did not get to use the pool or fitness center but they looked very nice and kept up with. The fitness center looked like it had plenty of room and wasnt squished like others i've seen. Its located in the back of a conglomerate of hotel chains, so its quiet in the heart of the airport. The free shuttle was nice too and ran every 15-20 mintues on the hour, very convenient!
Loved this place, they have the softest towels!!!
Great hotel near midway airport
New facility, friendly stuff excellent breakfast everything a man needs
Very clean hotel. Nice staff.
Aesthetically this hotel was beautiful, clean, new and modern. The Starbucks coffee and bar in the lobby added convenience to our hotel stay in Chicago. The ceramic coffee mugs and glass cups in the room added a nice touch too. Some (but not all) of the towels were so soft and bedding smelled clean. Pillows are great for those who prefer a feather down feel. The pool was a little chilly but also clean, and our 4 kids loved it. Room for improvement: our fan was not working in the bathroom. So it was quite humid in our room after we took showers. We asked for extra towels 3 times before they were finally delivered to our room. But they allowed us to have an extra hour for later check-out due to the inconvenience. There was not a microwave in our room (that’s $20 extra if they bring it to you). But there was one in the lobby to use for free. At check-in they said breakfast was $11 plus tax per person. But maybe since we booked with hotels.com we ended up finding out that it was included in the price of our stay. Overall it was a very nice hotel aesthetically, but functionality could be improved.
A little dirty and ac did not seem to work well but all in all way okay.
