Leider ist alles schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Badezimmer war nicht sehr sauber. Das Essen im dazugehörigen Restaurant ist nicht unbedingt zu empfehlen.

It was absolutely beautiful. Staff was so helpful and friendly. Felt like we were on a secluded beach front. Will absolutely be coming back next summer.

The one bed wasn’t very comfortable but we didn’t mind at all!

The location on the lake and the outdoor area. Bedroom was spacious and beds were comfortable with nice white cotton bed linen. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

Bathroom was very dated. The restaurant was quirky but again a bit tired.

There are no restaurants around the property, and dinner is served quite early. For us Italians, it was a bit of a cultural shock, but in the end, the food was good and we adapted.

Comfortable bed; great location for my needs visiting family nearby; very friendly and accommodating staff. My room was ready a bit early which I appreciated. Gorgeous sunsets and lovely beach.

No bed bug cover on mattress (but no signs of them either!) , space could benefit from a deep clean of fan etc. there is only one lock on door; travelling as a single person I would like an extra latch or deadbolt on inside, and the gap between French door and blinds was significant . I think someone could have looked into my bed if so inclined, so I propped bags etc against them to close further which worked.

No internet was really a problem for us there.

Das Hotel ist originell und befindet sich direkt am Ufer des Sees. Unser Zimmer war ebenerdig und wir konnten über den Rasen direkt zum Wasser. Kanus und Boote sind vor Ort - kann man sich direkt beim freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Personal ausleihen. Zu unserer Überraschung war das für nordamerikanische Verhältnisse recht gute Frühstück inklusive. Beim Frühstück war es sehr ruhig und angenehm.

Wer Luxus und alles schick und neu erwartet, ist hier falsch. Die Zimmer sind etwas hellhörig - man gewöhnt sich dran.

The location right on the lake was brilliant. Great views. The room was spacious.

Some of the staff were helpful and friendly (female) but others were surly and brusque (male). The easy chairs in the room were uncomfortable. The continental breakfast was very minimal. It's not promised so don't rely on it. We ended up leaving a night early after being told, yet again, that we couldn't use the gym. One of the main draws to this hotel for us was the advertised gym. However, there was a lot of repeated confusion between the staff about when it was open and when/if we were allowed to use it. The gym itself was overcrowded and difficult to use but there is a lot of good equipment in it. It also needed a good clean. The entrance to the gym is unwelcoming to say the least. It is across the road from the hotel on the ground floor of a private house. The pathway to it (alongside the abandoned, overgrown crazy golf course) was really untidy, overgrown in places and littered with rubbish and kids toys. The hotel is beautifully located right on the lakeside with a private beach but, other than that, there are better places to stay in the region.

Het restaurant, staat bijna niets op de kaart, we waren er 5 dagen en heb 3 keer hetzelfde gegeten. Ook geen of weinig restauranten in de omgeving.

I love the location, beautiful sandy beach. The beach area was clean and maintained this year.

Staffing continues to be a issue for them. The restaurant offers limited hours mainly due to staffing.

The lake was beautiful, sandy all the way from the beach, way into the lake. Shallow waters, ideal for young children. The hotel was conveniently located on highway 60 but you could not hear any traffic noise.

The restaurant. Dinner was served only until 6:30 pm. The menu choices were very basic, hamburgers, fish and chips and salad. And the it was just from the freezer, nothing fresh. There was no breakfast served, we had to drive to Tim Hortons in the next town.

Sands on Golden is a gem! Our kids loved playing at the beach and collecting rocks. It was a peace of mind that the lake was shallow for my 4 and 6yo to play in. The restaurant was great and the cook worked and understood my celiac. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Highly recommend and hoping to be back again.

The location on Golden lake is idyllic. The moon over the lake at night is picture perfect.

We rented the cabin. It’s a bit dated and the appliances are getting old but they all worked. We had no trouble cooking.

Two positive words/phrases reflect this place: Sands - there are sands directly in front of the hotel On Golden Pond - it is directly on Golden Pond

Sands is more of an old-fashioned, slightly run down "Bates Like" roadside Motel, than the cosy and rosy pictures it portrays on its site. Welcome and check-in were efficient if a little brusque and the hotel seemed full of young staff not sure what they were doing. Rooms were small and a little shabby, but did have an excellent view of the Lake. Arriving at 17.45 and told we had a max of 30mins before the restaurant closed meant that we were forced to make the best decision of the day, choosing instead to drive 15 mins up the road to enjoy the excellent food, hospitality and country music at the Wilno Tavern. Up at 06.00 we were well gone before the option of breakfast at 08.00

Location is amazing. Chalet is big, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. Being right on the lake was wonderful and the shallow water meant the temperature was pleasant for a swim.

Unfortunately we were there during a scotching hot stretch and not having an AC made it difficult to sleep at night. The fan only helped a little. Would have appreciated more toiletries. Plan to return.

The beach was beautiful. Jacuzzi very nice.

There were hardly any toiletries. The toilet paper was very poor quality. And only a tiny bar of soap and shampoo.

Cozy room, amazing views of the Golden Lake and just the perfect seclusion we needed as a couple to get away from the humdrum of our everyday city life.

我们入住当天正好是感恩节，酒店员工放假！餐厅关闭，周边的餐厅也不营业，没地方吃午饭！有一个员工牺牲休假时间，从家里赶来酒店为我们办理入住。也没有额外收我们早入住的费用！在此表示感谢！晚饭也不提供！我问早餐是否提供？该服务员告诉我们说：早餐时间7:00-9:30。第二天早上起来7点差几分，我前往餐厅吃早餐，结果餐厅漆黑一片，一个人没有，更别提早餐了！只好吃了点随身携带的饼干。8点准备结账交房间钥匙，依然是没有人！只好把钥匙放到门口的花盆里，并电话留言给酒店。正要启动汽车🚘，来了一个酒店员工，于是又把钥匙交给她，才驾车离去！

Perfect Location

The check in , even outside of regular hours, was quite easy and seamless. The place is clean and nicely located. We stayed for only 1 night, came late and left early so didn’t get the chance to try facilities .

The beach is clean. My daughters love it！

Bathroom wasn't very clean and outdated, the exterior of the buildings were full of cobwebs, just felt worn out. Could do with some TLC.

Great view, but very inconvenient. Amenities are just shampoo and soap. No teas Staff didn’t stay at the property, had to make a phone call to reach, even no answer. They said there‘s a grab and go breakfast, but no staff showed up with breakfast at the office until 8 a.m.which was locked up over night. Won’t come back to this hotel again,

We arrived late but our room had been set up, and someone came back into the office to welcome us. The room is comfortable and clean, but the real stunner is the view. You can sit outside your door and have an uninterrupted panoramic view of a big lake, which is spectacular at sunset and when the stars come out. Can’t wait to come back.

Die Lage ist super. Direkt am See, wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Balkon zum See. Das Zimmer ist ziemlich einfach, aber sehr sauber. Obwohl es kein Frühstück gab, war an der „Rezeption“ Kaffee, Teilchen, muffins und Joghurt zum mitnehmen. Toll!!

Zack and team were awesome to us. Wonderful place that we’ll for sure come back. Ideal place to take a few days off. Unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the spa, but we’ll do that next time; we’ll make sure to book it in advance

We arrived after sunset and left around s foggy dawn, so we didn't get to see much of the lake view. But the room was very nice; wedstay there again. Our only disappointment was that breakfast wasn't available until 8, and we needed to be on the road before then.

Stopped for one night. Definitely would not recommend. Dirty, not very friendly staff at the check in nice lady on duty in the morning. Breakfast was an experience, muffin, banana, coffee out of a dirty coffee pot and a limited choice of cereal out of 3 old beaten boxes, actually looked like the breakfast was put together from what they could find in the owners kitchen cupboards, this did give us a chuckle though as never seen anything like it. Biggest complaint is how dirty the place is. Clean bedding and towels but everything else was dirty, old and tired. Great view of the lake and nice (misleading) website.

Wir kamen 18:00 an und hatten nur noch 10 Minuten Zeit zur last order im Restaurant. Kaffeemaschine im Zimmer defekt, die Nachttischlampe auch. Ein an sich schönes Hotel wirkt etwas ungepflegt.

Zach was very helpful at check in and extremely personable in the dining room. This place is a hidden gem. Sweet rooms all with wonderful lake views. I’ll be back.

Schöne Lage am See, leider wollte das Wetter nicht mitspielen. Außer der Unterkunft nicht viel inn der Nähe. Da wir wochentags da waren, war das Frühstück enthalten. Das Buffet war recht übersichtlich und sehr "süß" lastig. Leider wurde das was fehlte (Teller, Löffel, Milch, Kaffee), erst auf Nachfrage nachgefüllt. Das war ziemlich nervig. Ansonsten ein schöner Zwischenstop auf unsrem Weg nach Ottawa.

Love our annual overnight stay

We request for late check out because regular check out it's at 11:00 am, we were told that won't be possible due to the room has been already reserved which was not true l, we drove a couple of times in front of the hotel and there were no one. Check out at 11:00 am it's ridiculous, so early, not enough time to relax and get ready.

Der Strand vor der Tür und der idyllische See waren traumhaft schön! Die Lage ist großartig! Das Zimmer war okay. Der Fitnessraum ist gut ausgestattet und im Spa erwarten einen superfreundliche Mitarbeiterinnen und viele Angebote. Unbedingt vorreservieren!

Es gehört ordentlich durchgeputzt und renoviert. Die Anlage hätte alles zu bieten, von Volleyballplatz, Minigolfbahn, usw., aber es ist nicht benützbar. Das Personal im Hotel war entgegenkommend, wenn man etwas braucht, aber nicht unbedingt aktiv bemüht. Das Frühstück ist absolut nicht zu empfehlen.

Location was great and the waterfront view was lovely.

Overall the room looked tired and needed improvement. Things like stains (rusty) in the sink, bathroom ceiling had large water damage, baseboards were chipped away. Could not get the TV on, although we did not need it for anything important.
