Miriam , the owner at reception herself very open and friendly. Old bank tastefully living its new life as a Guests Town House. Traditional old school Irish Hospitality in a lovely small Irish town.
Really can't think of anything not to like.
Miriam was very welcoming, great location in the heart of Bruff, room was gorgeous
Very comfortable and everything I needed for the stay. Welcoming host.
Beautiful property, the result of an excellent renovation. Everything is very well maintained and carefully looked after

Hotel spotless beds very comfortable
Check in 5pm to late especially when you have to be gone by 11am next day I under host was having family problems but you don't bring that to your paying guests that not there fault. Also after paying in full bookings.com to be told then a ,€100 DEPOSIT WAS BEEN HELD TILL WE CHECKED OUT THIS WAS NOT MENTIONED ANYWERE LUCKY WE HAD SPARE 100 BUT THIS NEEDS TO TOLD BEFORE ARRIVE AT HOTEL
Everything very good warm welcome and everything in room spotlessly clean
Had a lovely stay at the old Bank B+B staff were very friendly and helpful. Assume Breakfast too.would highly recommend great value for money
Thank you for an excellent stay in Bruff! The old bank town house was great with friendly staff and an exceptional breakfast :) Thank you!
Good location and well presented
The host/owner was the opposite of what you would expect from Irish hospitality. She was rude to the two tourists checking in ahead of me and quiet abrupt to me also. €100 deposit was also was also held for “possible damages” which would put me off staying again. 5pm check in is also ridiculous i asked to check in an hour early but was denied.
Miriam the owner was very pleasant
Lovely family home.
Historic building, lots of individual features, breakfast is a major highlight
Good B&B with nice rooms
Not what you'd called outstanding. Owner instantly took €100 deposit on my credit card in case a 62 an 74 year old wrecked the place. Hotels don't do that as far as I'm aware. Got the impression we were being tolerated rather than welcome.
Miriam was so friendly! She made us feel at home straight away! The Old Bank is a lovely place to stay in! We'll be back for sure!
There was nothing we didn't like!
Miriam is so warm and welcoming! The place itself is extremely charming as well as comfortable and Bruff is tiny but cute. The breakfast though--the breakfast was glorious! Lots of choices, vegetarian s well as with meat, and you are greeted at your table with a plate of to-die-for pastry! Miriam didn't seem to approve of a breakfast without a starter so we got the fruit, ate every bite, and then couldn't finish our main courses. Also the bathroom had a DEEP JETTED tub (with a very modern shower. After hiking all day around Lough Gur, a long hot soak was very welcome indeed.
Nothing I *didn't* like. Maybe the room could have used a few more outlets, but we travel with a LOT of electronics.
I loved the home-made breakfast. Everything was delicious. My bedroom was very comfortable. Everything was our class. The fan came on as soon as I put the key in and there was a fresh bottle of water waiting for me. The window was open and curtains drawn to keep the heat out

Excellent service Miriam was an excellent host . the location is right in the middle off bruff wi everything you need .
Huge room with good facilities. I was very comfortable and had everything I needed. The family were very pleasant and encouraged me to join in the 4th July celebrations which were on in the town. A great choice of pubs and takeaways within a couple of minutes and a supermarket next door. This might be a good base for a more wide-ranging holiday because you can reach a lot of major tourist destinations as a day trip. On site parking.
There are lots of rules and I guess these have been the result of the poor behaviour of previous guests.
Central . Comfortable large bedroom. Lovely Breakfast
Excellent location. Top class breakfast with delicious homemade pastries included. Would definitely call again. Michael

The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We had breakfast on the 1st morning and it was well cooked with delicious ingredients. The plate of patries was a nice touch ( even better when we were given a box to take them away with us)
We were made to feel that we were being done a favour in being allowed to stay in the owners 'family home' This was mentioned more than once. On check out, despite there being a bell for attention, we were made to feel that we shouldn't have used it as the owners teenager was asleep and it rang in the family quarters !
Hotel was clean, lovely breakfast
Lovely location in the Main Street and close to food and pub for entertainment. Room was large.
There is a significant amount of information on what not to do as a guest in the family home. Perhaps a review of how this is communicated might be done to be a little more approachable for overseas guests.
Breakfast menu was enticing with plenty of choice. Cooked to order. Cosy fireplace at reception with comfortable Queen Anne chairs and a Chesterfield sofa. Jacuzzi bath a treat after long walks/windy & rainy days. Delightful room with a very comfortable bed.

I was in the area for a family visit and the Old Bank B&B in Bruff was the perfect location. I had a lovely garden room, which was very spacious and comfortable. Miriam did the check in and welcomed me to the property, which is on the main road and I believe used to be bank. We went for dinner just down the road to Clancy's Bar, which also was very welcoming and a good place to go for something to eat. Miriam had a superb breakfast for all the guests! It was a shame that my stay was so short as the area looked like it's ideal for walks. I arrived by bus from Limerick, which was very simple.
Nothing to dislike!
Spotless

Perfect location, fabulous shower, lovely friendly staff
Lovely accommodation with really friendly and helpful staff
Only downside was thin interior walls meant that I heard everything my neighbours were saying and was woken up by their alarm etc in the morning
Beautiful room, excellent facilities. Beautiful breakfast.
The services was amazing! Nowadays its difficult to find a place where the service offered is as important as the product. The lady owner made us feel special from check-in time until check-out. Breakfast was fabulous too!
Lovely modern hotel in a wonderfully renovated historic building. Really warm and cosy house right in the middle of Bruff. Wonderful welcome from Miriam on check-in. The room is really clean and really comfortable. Highly recommend the Old Bank for your next visit to Limerick!

Excellent host, made you feel at home, great breakfast (for a fee) But well worth the money. One of the best B&B we have stayed at.

The owner could have been more accommodating for credit card use. She said she couldn’t take a credit card that gave points. Owner seemed distracted and didn’t treat us like “family”. No soap in the shower. Didn’t seem flexible with check in and check out times.
It’s getting to be a rare gift to get to stay in a family-fun B&B, and this was just wonderful. The space was beautiful, cozy, clean, and Miriam and her staff were warm and responsive. Bruff is small and sweet and lovely. I wish I could’ve stayed more than one night!

Great location in town and a central location to explore the region.
We did not find anything wrong with this property.
A wonderful Gem right in the centre of a lovely Irish community, Miriam was Definitely The host with the most , such a lovely inviting space and the coal fire was lit each evening which really created a lovely cosy vibe , there was also a lovely Christmas candle burning … lovely pubs very close too.. THANK YOU!!

Beautifully designed, comfortable bed
No complaints
The transformation of an old bank into an accommodation is well done. It is quaint that the rooms were named after banking terms (we stayed in the treasury!). The owner has high attention to detail eg chocolate on bedside table, coloured towel in bathroom for people removing make-up or tanning products. The hired staff were warm and welcoming. The room was of good size and well furnished.
Don't be put off by the initial email with rules and expectations explicitly set out. They are all quite reasonable and if they weren't mentioned, you wouldn't act any differently. It's just a reminder that this accommodation is a family run B&B and isn't staffed 24/7 like a hotel. The lived experience was very good nonetheless.
A most delightful stay.
No complaints.
Located on the main street in Bruff, the property is about 25km to the south of Limerick City so is easily accessible by car if working on the south side of the city. The host is friendly, the beds are comfortable and the rooms are quiet, a recipe for a good nights sleep. A kettle with coffee, tea etc. are provided in the room and the bedside chocolate was a nice touch.
Nothing, but based on past experience I would recommend the breakfast.
Miriam! 🤗 Lovely person, amazing energy!
To have a longer vacation!
Miracle was an excellent host & very friendly/helpful
The wc kept blocking, throw on bed was a bit grubby, mattress was very uncomfortable and although there was shampoo on tge wall over the bath, there was no shower gel. The room itself though was nice
Nice rooms, engaging owner, overall a great stay.
Not many restaurant options locally.
Beautiful B&B with lots of charm.
Lovely place to stay and great value for money.
An incredibly friendly, immaculately clean B&B, with a family welcome, the Old Bank has lovely heritage features, and I really liked the very spacious room.
Central location and great breakfast

Beautifully decorated, extremely clean, very warn and welcoming. Very quiet and incredibly comfortable bed.
In the centre of town, close to a supermarket and pub. Guesthouse that brings you back 100 years.
Noisy street with lot of traffic.
Location
Excellent service, very friendly owner, spotlessly clean room, comfortable bed, amazing Irish breakfast - 10/10!

*Updated Review* This was my original review: "Lovely staff, gorgeous room and comfortable bed" Following on from this experience and more interaction with the staff post stay, the customer service was a disgrace.
The disgraceful treatment from Miriam, the owner. Straight after posting my original review here, which was wholly accurate (other than referring to this place a hotel, which I have removed in this update), I received a phone call from Miriam. She didn't ask me if I had a moment to speak about my stay or review. She launched into picking apart my review, citing how hard she works and that it's a family run business. She screamed at me down the phone, would not let me speak and the times that she did she cut me off and eventually hung up on me. To say I was shocked and appalled was an understatement. I probably would've stayed here again was it not for the harassing phone call I received. Miriam does not show any respect for her customers, and continued to reference the fact that we booked through booking.com as if we committed a crime. I would love to see her take on some basic customer service and interaction skills classes to ensure no one else is cold called simply to be screamed and shouted at about their review. I would avoid this place at all costs. Original review: "The late check in/out time. 5pm-8pm for checking on and 11am check out. I paid €132 for one night which was discounted on booking.com and would've been more expensive via direct website. This rate didn't include breakfast. I understand it's a family run business but 5pm for earliest check in is not ok considering the price. There was only a 3 in 1 shampooing conditioner in the bath/shower. For the rate of the room and the quality of the rest of the room I would at least expect separate shower gel/shampoo/conditioner at a minimum."
The room decor was very stylish and was cleaned thoroughly on arrival! Lovely attention to detail! Jacuzzi bath is a must so relaxing! ☺️.Location is very central have a shop next door and pubs only a stone throw away! Louise at reception was very welcoming and very pleasant and down to earth! Thank you very much Louise!
I can’t fault them to be honest! Maybe the bean portion for breakfast to be bigger! Looked tiny to me but I do love beans!
