The staff member was very help
Smells really bad there. The washrooms are so dirty
Forget this property, we stayed for 1 night of 5 booked, 1 night too many. The entry to the accommodation is disgusting, dark and very smelly. Then it gets worse. There is no one in attendance and they dont reply to messages or emails for days. the room aircon didn't work, the TV had no remote, The shower was dirty and held together with a metal band. Internet was so bad we had to go to the bar next door to communicate with the outside world. The doorknob on the inside of our room fell off and we were trapped inside with no air con, internet, safe water for almost an hour. The manager got back to us 4 days later (we checked out first thing the morning after check in. I have written to them 3 times with no response. No draws, no hanging space, 4 keys to get into the building, metal cage, office and then finally to our horrible room
No tea or coffee facilities, dirty bathroom, someone else's hairy soap was left in shower, blocked sink, smell of drains. No one for check in you have to ring and then follow WhatsApp instructions. Breakfast is down street in nearby cafe, this is a coffee and pastry which was ok. Location of property excellent.
Firstly no one there to check in.U phone the number and follow WhatsApp instructions for keys, the smell of drains in the entrance hall🤢Room has no tea or coffee facilities, bathroom was dirty, previous guests hairy soap still in shower 🤢 sink blocked.Breakfast is in cafe down street which is coffee, juice and a croissant which is fine, Location is excellent.
Hotel in a great location
I loved that this location was partnered with a local cafe. That was a great option for our complimentary breakfast! The balcony was perfect and the room was spacious and clean.
No communication from the property prior to arrival. We arrived early to leave our bags as offered in the booking, but no one was there. The property could not be contacted through the Hotels app. We went back at check in time, but again no one was there. Another traveller let us in to the building and made contact with the manager for us. He arrived at the property 1.5 hours later and claimed he had no contact details for us. Our details are correct in the app and other properties have had no such issues. Other travellers confirmed similar issues with this property. Despite the room being ok, we could not recommend this property.
Positive is it is a great location. And the room was pretty. Downside, horrible communication. No response to multiple messages sent through Expedia. No one on site for check in. Had to phone and was told they’d be there soon. Not in the least bit apologetic for the circumstances. Wifi signal extremely weak. Locks to the room are an art you need to figure out. Breakfast included was not as expected. Was down the street at a cafe, you got a pastry, a coffee and juice. I actually liked that, but wasn’t a full meal if that’s what you are looking for.
Awful! Read the other reviews and avoid. Not as advertised. Mini fridge doesn’t work. Broken fans. Air con broken (it was 35 C outside and 31 C inside !), staff unresponsive. They REALLY don’t give a hoot about their guess, and the room is the pits. Because of the location they will just book the next sucker in. If you want to live like a backpacker with no ventilation or aircon, and moldy bathroom with no amenities of any sort, go for it. Otherwise, take heed that everything in the advert is a lie, and you will get nothing but disappointment.
To begin, aside from being a scam due to the description and past reviews about conditions and locks/electrical/ac issues there is also theft with the housekeeping. We currently are investigating and requesting a refund due to multiple reasons as apparently past guests have experienced similar issues (over past years) which I’ve spoken with Expedia.Upon arrival in 95 degree weather no ac or power in building due to “construction issues “.However reviews going back years state same issues which means property is not safe or maintained.AC was fixed by late evening however appliances, outlets and Wi-Fi all not working. Towel’s never changed.Floors dirty plus furniture.Fridge stop working. No Wi-Fi for 4 of 5 days plus only 2 working outlets.More importantly this is NOT a hotel or bed and breakfast as listed.Definitely no room service as listed(can’t even get coffee refills).Laundry means you walk 5-6 blocks to do yourself.Lock to room is unsecure, plus you’re able to completely see through to room.Cracked glass in bathroom window. Taped outlet near sink.Slow draining shower.Entry to building is pitch black walking up a flight of stairs. Now to the theft. We were told not possible as Gonzalo knew housekeeping girls.Upon saying we were contacting authorities, we were told, oh yes, well they did take your items but mistakenly took them astrash which were on top of our suitcase! We’re told by Gonzalo money would be refunded from cleaning company, however nothing plus blocked calls. SCAM
Unfortunately, this stay was not a good one. They didn’t get the air conditioning to work properly until the last day even though they were told it was not running cold. No hot water the entire time and refrigerator was not working and they were told day one. They told us that some of the sockets blew but they were not quick to solve the problem.
Nobody to open at the arrival, manager was called by a business owner from downstairs , fridge ,hairdryer not working, defective lock at the room door and apartment entrance sometimes did not open b/c it was locked from inside , water on the bathroom floor probably from a broken water pipe that is not fixed.Loose handle almost breaking in pieces at the balcony door.On the service section of the property description is breakfast but non existing in reality. This property is neglected and not customer friendly.
The location can’t be beat. This is an Airbnb type property and the office isn’t staffed - I missed the message sent from them in advance of check in so we had to wait for someone to come over to check us in (about 20 mins) The building is old and a bit dirty but the room was cool - high ceilings, overlooking the street, great old marble floors etc. The breakfast is included at a little coffee shop a couple doors down and was adequate.
The twin bed was broken. The shower head was broken. The AC didn’t work. Too noisy. Description of room was very deceiving.
I didn’t feel safe. It’s old and dirty! The sheets were not changed!! Don’t be fooled by the pictures! Plugs didn’t work! No ventilation unless you open the door. No windows. So noisy people opening doors and slamming them. You can hear people walk up and down the stairs. When you walk in it’s like you’re walking in a scary movie! when you know the bad guy is by the stairs! It was very creepy! The guy that check us in was very nice but thats the nicest thing I have to say about this place! Please don’t book here! Not a hotel it’s more like a room in a random house. Just dirty. Expedia needs to double check this place before putting it on here for other customers.
Dålig avrinning i duschen. Kylen fungerade knappt.
Good 4-night stay. Room was large and clean. Check-in was easy and communication through WhatsApp was smooth and helpful. Great location for exploring the city. We especially loved having a balcony, used it often. There’s an excellent restaurant right across the street (Cantinetta Cavour), which was a nice bonus, but it’s Florence and there’s solid options on every block. As noted by others, breakfast is minimal and served at a nearby café, but the staff there were friendly and we got into a nice routine: americano to go with a quick croissant, and it worked just fine for us.
NO ES UN HOTEL. HUELE MUY MAL, EN GENERAL TODO ESTA EN MUY MAL ESTADO. LA DUCHA ESTA ROTA. HASTA LA CHAPA PARA INGRESAR A LA HABITACION NO FUNCIONA. NO CUENTA NI CON RECEPCION... ME SENTI ESTAFADA... NO SE HOSPEDEN EN ESTE LUGAR.... PARA LO QUE VALE TODO MUY MUY MAL
Book somewhere else - please do not make the mistake we made. While the photos seem nice, the condition and cleanliness of the room is not a place you want to stay at. We arrived to the hotel at the time discussed and had to wait for 10 extra minutes while they told us “it is still being cleaned, we had 10 guys stay in all the rooms and they left it a mess.” While we understand some challenges with past people who stayed there, you do not want to know that minutes before entering. We entered the entryway which smelt very bad, made our way up and entered the room which was so hot the concierge had to take off his coat in the short time he showed us the room because he said “it is very hot” (which he was extremely nice and did his best with a clearly not well kept stay). We did our best to deal with it even with a quick need to leave for a reservation. We left the window open as the AC unit did not seem to work (yes, we had to try and use AC in winter because it was so hot). Before we left, we looked at the towels on the bed and there were ants crawling on them so we quickly asked them to exchange them which they did but it made us concerned with the rest of the stay and the bed’s cleanliness that the towels originally were on. After looking closer at the room, we noticed the bed had visible dirt, the bathroom had many broken parts (fan, flush of toilet, and no hand towels). We felt so dirty that we messaged them expressing that we wanted a refund for our 3 day stay before even sleeping the first night because we did not feel comfortable there. They acted like they would give the opportunity for a partial credit if someone booked it for the next two nights. Someone did book the room for a lower amount which they told us, we never received a refund and stopped responding after we requested the refund be paid. We filed a claim with our credit card and they denied everything. Very disappointing when a business does not hold its promises to its customers. It’s very beautiful from a distance, and we are so sad we didn’t feel comfortable staying. We appreciate Gonzalo’s communication.
Un SUEÑOOOOO !!!! SI.QUIERES SENTIRTE BIEN TIENES Q VENIR AQUIIII
increibleeeee !!!
Beautiful room and building, free breakfast down the street, very charming
Parking was very expensive, property was in great location but not in good condition. The door lock was broken, the place smelled bad. Staff were friendly.
.
The location is great very near the Duomo and great museums. It does not have a front desk so if you don’t have their phone number handy or data it can be a challenge to get in. I only found out there as they did not contact me via hotels.com to let me know. We did not get our rooms cleaned for 2 days in a row out of 5 and we were not told. I think there was a holiday. The room was nice but it needs a bit of maintenance as bathroom shower was leaking and wasting water. It’s ok but it could be better. Then the breakfast is in a bar 50 meters away, it’s basic, just a pastry and a hot drink and the service is not very friendly as if they do not like getting people with breakfast vouchers. So we needed up going elsewhere and paying for our own breakfast.
very unhealthy property, mold all over you can get sick!!!🌚
This is a challenging one to review. You cannot beat the location and old world charm of this place. The small balcony was perfect for enjoying a nightcap. However, my first impression of the old dark stairwell and going through the office to reach the room were unexpected. The shower leaked (inside shower), the door fell off and backed-up immediately. Upon further inspection, the room was clean, but a white duvet would have gone a long way in giving the impression of cleanliness. Overall, we would stay again with managed expectations.
Dåligt rum. Dålig lukt på rummet. Svårt att hitta. Det enda som var bra var läget.
Your location is perfect, nice neighborhood, lots of good restaurants around. Near the train station. And very close to the center, everything is walkable. Free breakfast is good and convenient. I’m glad it’s not inside your place. It’s a cute little restaurant beside it and servers are nice! May have couple of issues in regards to the place itself. Once you enter the building, it’s disgusting because it’s dark and smells really bad. Not your fault per Gonzalo the receptionist person, it’s a problem and the city won’t do anything. But maybe you can make the entrance hallway bright and cleaner. The room has no luggage rack or at least desk or a table were you can put your luggage. The bathroom needs a table our a shelf were you can put your toiletries. The shelf by the bidet and toilet bowl is unsanitary and gross. The vanity mirrors light is not working. The switch is need to be replaced. It’s super gross too. The closet has 3 useless hangers. I open the closet once and I never opened again for 3 nights. It’s disgusting. Please add a hanger rod with decent hangers, luggage rack and a toiletries holder. This will make you place convenient to stay and will Make you gust happy. If those missing amenities will be added then I’ll Give you place 4 star.
¡ESTAFA! ¡CUIDADO!
I’m being very generous with this score. This place is only 3 rooms. Our room had a tiny bathroom with no circulation. The AC could’ve been stronger. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. You have to call the host beforehand. The number is on the door directory. He arrived quickly and was nice and provided the information on the keys. Please note: you have to climb a few stairs to get into the apartment. There are no elevators. The number one reason to stay here is that it’s really close to the tourist zones.
Breakfast was sufficient.
I we booked 2 rooms at B&B Cavour 10 Hotel and was extremely disappointed with my experience. The service was subpar. To make matters worse, there was no air conditioning in the room. iMessage Gonzalo and he said that he was going to be there in an hour. We waited an hr and a half and he never showed up!!!! We checked in but left that same day and ultimately decided to book another hotel room at the last minute to salvage our trip. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant stay.
A/C didn’t work, TV didn’t work. Decent location but no help from staff when asked.
Smell of sewage
It is well located and the breakfast was included. The room was not very clean when we arrived.
I felt like I traveled in time being in this room. It screams Florence! Highly recommend. Host was wonderful also. Clean!
Excellent location Beautiful room Great host
Big room - close to all attractions
Our room absolutely had bed bugs. Room was poorly cleaned from the previous guests, I found multiple pieces of trash from a previous guest including a pack of cigs and plastic cutlery. Room was nice but again, bed bugs.
Check in can be a nightmare. Make sure you communicate with them of your arrival time because no one is there otherwise. We weren’t aware of this and even though they had reached out to us we were already out of the country and in flight and never got their message. So when we arrived no one was here to let us in and the number given to us and posted outside didn’t work! We felt stranded! Luckily there was a maintenance guy there who was able to help us and call owner. The location is good. Just steps away from the duomo. There’s a great restaurant right across the street. And the breakfast included at the cafe down the street is nice. But the street is busy. If you have one of the rooms on the street side it gets noisy! If you’re a light sleeper absolutely do not sleep here! The walls are extremely thin. You hear everyone coming and going and all the kids in the streets late at night walking home screaming, singing, laughing, as well as every single car, bike and bus that goes by. The room was clean but rustic. A few things weren’t working but the host was quick to help. There is barely any hot water for your shower in the morning. My side of the bed was very comfortable but my husbands side of the bed I think was broken because it squeaked every time he moved. We were here for 5 nights and no one came to freshen up our towels, clean our room or make our bed. Which I guess was fine, although 5 nights is a long time to go without a cleaning.
So apparently these “airbnbs” are popping up as hotels everywhere in Italy. So beware, you must keep in contact with your host on your arrival time because no one will be there to let you in and unless you have international calling or internet connected you won’t be able to contact someone to get in. Not only was no one there when we arrived but the number given to us and the number listed outside on the door didn’t work! Luckily a maintenance guy was there and was able to contact our host. The same thing happened to my parents staying at a different “hotel” in the area. A nightmare. The room was clean but rustic. My side of the bed was comfortable but the other side must have been broken because it squeaked everyone time you moved and was uncomfortable. Our room was on the street side so it was noisy! If you’re a light sleeper don’t stay here. Walls are paper thin and you everything from the streets. Every car, bike, bus, and kids coming home late at night yelling in the streets. The fridge in the room didn’t work. A few other things didn’t work but we contacted the host and they were fixed. The wifi was very spotty. There was also barely any hot water in the shower. We stayed for five nights and no one ever came to clean our room or provide fresh towels or supply more toiletries. We won’t be back and we wouldn’t recommend this place to our friends or family.
Description of "hotel" listed daily housekeeping, laundry services, breakfast included, 37" plasma TV, refrigerator, room service, view of a garden, non-smoking, free bottled water. IT HAS NONE OF THESE THINGS! This isn't a hotel. It is an Airbnb. The host, Gonzalo, was there to check us in but was never seen again. He answered our text about the wifi password, but never responded to any further texts. We had to refill our toilet paper ourselves during the stay. The view was of a small courtyard with a tree and a view of cigarette butts tossed onto a ledge below from prior "non-smoking" occupants. The bathroom in our Standard Double room was microscopic and is nothing like the spacious rooms featured in the pictures on the website. The shower head was broken. The entire room itself measured 10'x13'. The sewer smell in the stairwell seems to be a constant based on other reviews from prior years. We will be filing for a refund from our credit card.
Cavour10 was a traumatizing experience. Walking into the building and it was dark, dirty and smelled of sewerage. We entered our room. The large window was wide open. Little did we know that we would have to kill at least 10 mosquitoes that night. My arm had many bites. A telephone wire was on the floor and across the threshold going into the room, the sheet had a blood stain, and the blanket was stained. There was no room service for our 5 day stay. New towels were dropped off once but the wet towels were not taken away. There was no place to even hang the towels. I left a bag of wet towels and a bag of garbage in the lobby area under the desk. The bathroom was like a closet. We had to ask Gonzalo for soap, shampoo and a garbage pale. There was no soap dish in the tiny shower. We had to either drop it on the floor or open the shower door and throw it in the sink. The cover on the toilet flusher was missing. The wall paper was dirty and stained. I texted Gonzalo the morning after our first night and asked if there was another room. He texted back 7 hours later and said he had to ask the owner. THAT WAS THE LAST TIME I HEARD FROM HIM FOR 4 MORE DAYS. DO NOT STAY IN CAVOUR 10 no matter what other reviews say.
The room was beautifully decorated. The building itself, much like many accommodation options in Florence, is old. However, Cavour 10 has done a great job trying to maintain the authentic and historical design of the buildings decorations- providing rooms filled with gorgeous tiles, painted ceilings, and decorative wallpaper. While to some this may feel 'dirty' because it is 'old', as seen in other reviews, the room itself is actually very clean and stylish. The caretaker is also absolutely lovely and so willing to accommodate your needs! The location is also a huge plus- you can easily walk to all of the major sites from this location!
The room was nice but 2 outlets were not working so cannot charge the phone and computer. The bathroom and the room has no garbage can. The toilet was dirty in the bottom. The toiletries and soap ledge was very rusty. It wasn’t quiet like said. There’s a lot of yelling from outside my window even at 2am. Had a hard time sleeping.
Great location, able to walk to most points of interest. A bit of a hike from the Train Station, especially with luggage. The air conditioning unit did not work well and the bathroom did not smell very clean.
The room was comfortable enough. The area was close to everything. There was a terrible smell from likely downstairs work. Breakfast at the local bistro was adequate. Host was difficult to communicate with.
Clean Room. No water.notwa or coffee.even no kettle...no fridge.. just one paper toilet... no TV remote control... It's not even standard room. Totally different than the picture you see. Very poor...not happy at all.
We went in December. They gave us an upgrade in the room because of a small delay in giving us the keys, since the person in charge was sick. We thought it was a very nice detail. The hotel is very well located and the room was beautiful, thank you very much!
The location is great, you can walk to almost everything you want to see on a quick trip to Florence. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful, nicely decorated with an incredible frescoed ceiling and large bathroom. We really liked the 2 comfortable chairs and foot stool for relaxing after our busy sight-seeing.
Perfect location, but price/quality wasn’t good (we had better hotels before in Florence). For example: - We said that we would arive between 5 and 6. We were there around 5.50, but there was no staff, so we had to wait for 20/30 minutes - AC is working very bad. A lot of noise and not cooling very well - the bathroom is not clean - a lot of noise from the street Next time, other place for us!
This B&B is only 3 mins walk from the Duomo, perfect to stay in Florence for few days. The Host Giovanni is super friendly and accommodating. The rooms are good size and bright. The Pirandello room, which was the one we stayed in, has really beautiful colours, setting and forniture. As I already said the B&B is right by the main square of Florence which gives easy access to a lot of bars and restaurants. I definitely recommend this place. Clean, easy to find and amazing communication with the owner. 5 stars!
This property was located right in the center of Florence. Everything was within walking distance. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The owner was thoughtful enough to leave us a bottle of bubbly as a honeymoon welcome gift and the complimentary croissant you get for breakfast at the cafe downstairs is delicious.
We actually booked this place in June 2018. When we arrived we were told that our room had a plumbing problem due to last renters. We were offered an apartment a block away that was very much not what we paid for, except for location. Since we had just arrived from traveling from America we settled for what we could get. In retrospect I believe we were scammed and someone else was staying there during the days we paid for.
just stayed three days in Florence, this B/B is a great location for all the sightseeing in the city, food court need door for breakfast and traditional Italian rooms, overall great service from start to finish.
We must have just been really unlucky here as I read so many positive things about This b&b, however for me it is by far the most disappointed I’ve ever felt about an accommodation. The main reason for this was I booked and paid for the largest nicest family sized Room with balcony as it was my husbands birthday present, this is confirmed on my confirmation from hotels.com. We were instead given the smallest back room with a sliver of a window which was considerably cheaper both when I booked and if You look at other dates. I questioned this a few times and was given various excuses, and told I didn’t need the big room anyway as we weren’t a family and how they cost the same so what was The problem. I assume what happened is a family booked for a longer period and They didn’t want to lose that booking so downgraded us in their favour, which would have been fine had it been explained before and the difference refunded. Was so disappointed and angry at the excuses it ruined our trip. Also we waited 40 minutes in the street to check in after being told to come back for 2pm after dropping our bags off, no answer to the doorbell, several phone calls and finally an email. Building work going on outside our small back room which woke us up on Saturday morning, which can’t be helped but also added to my regret at booking this place. A good location and very clean, again I guess we were just unlucky as so many good reviews, but it was an extremely poor experience for us.
Nice place, close to the Duomo. They were supposed to take out the extra bed (rollaway) because there were only 2 of us, but they never did, consequently the room was cramped. Otherwise is was a good place to stay.
The host was very responsive and accommodating and the location was very good! We were warm the first night so requested a fan and that was delivered the next day along with extra towels and toilet paper. The breakfast is not bad, quite simple - orange juice coffee and a croissant or small sandwich which is provided by the cafe down the street. We thank the host for the fan, without that it would have been a poor stay but sleeping comfortably makes all the difference. Thanks!
I must start by saying how helpful and accommodating Guido (the owner) is. He emailed us to a few days in advance to confirm our arrival and ensure we had all of the information that we needed to arrive. He gave us directions from the train station as we wanted to walk and made sure he had our arrival time so he could have someone there to meet us. Guido's staff person ( I apologize for your not remembering your name) was very pleasant and helpful making sure we had everything that we needed to settle in. The rooms were very spacious and pleasantly decorated. The beds were more firm than we are used to, but that seemed to be our experience everywhere in Italy. Everything was very clean. They provided stocked mini fridges (for a very reasonable fee). We also received breakfast coupons to eat at a café down the road (it was excellent!). Guido came to meet and greet with us once we arrived. He provided us with helpful information for our stay and made sure we had his cell # in case we needed to contact him. The building is charming. Yes, not having a lift is a little inconvenient, but these are old buildings, and we only had to go up to the second floor so not a big deal. I'm not sure who owns the building itself, but the entry way could use some TLC and an air freshener. But once you get up to the second floor where our rooms were, it was totally a different atmosphere, very nice and comfortable and clean. The building was very secure. The location was fantastic for us. We arrived via train, and just walked over. Actually we walked everywhere from here. The Duomo is just down the road and the Accademia Gallery is only around the block. It was not far to walk to Ponte Vecchio. There were many restaurants around. Overall, the price was reasonable, the owner/staff were wonderful and the location is perfect to explore Florence. I would stay again in the future.
When we arrived, after 14 hours of travelling, nobody answered the buzzer and we had to wait on the street with our bags in the rain for almost an hour. Finally, a local store owner agreed to use his phone to call the owner and we were let in. What a disappointment. The location is good, but the room was decrepit, with peeling paint on the paper thin walls. We could hear children crying in our room. The bedspread was dirty and we saw a bug scurrying in the bathroom. When we tried to leave, we realized that we were locked in as the person who showed us the unit did not show us how to exit (there are 4 doors/gates that need to be unlocked in various ways). Finally someone returned with breakfast vouchers for a diner across the street (this is how breakfast is included in the reservation), and let us out of the unit. We left without sleeping here, and forfeited a 4 night stay. They refused to refund any of the money. If you can stay anywhere else, I would highly suggest you pick somewhere else to stay. I don't know where the lovely pink room in the picture is located, or when that picture was taken, but our room was nothing like that.
We really enjoyed the stay, in a spacious room with good standard. We also got a lot of good advices on what to see and where to eat from the manager. The location is in the middle of everything, with a short walk to every museum and things to see. at the same time the b&b is in an area that’s not overflowing with tourist, which is great. A couple of days we left the room too late in the morning, and as a result we didn’t get the room cleaned; so keep track of time.
This place was truly amazing! My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time in Florence and it would not have been the same if we hadn't stayed here. The room was even better than advertised, the location is just perfect: 200m from S. Maria del Fiore. Last but not least, the staff is extremely professional and welcoming. We'll go back there for sure!
Being my first time to Florence I wanted somewhere central but not too expensive. B&B Cavour exceeded expectations. The owner Guido is often onsite and is full of excellent information and recommendations for Florence. We ate at all the places he recommended and they were all fantastic! The room was beautiful and spacious, our room was described to us as the ‘Toto’ room and faced the interior courtyard, overlooking a small green space - very pleasant. It’s also rare to find a decent sized bathroom in Italy in general, but our room also had this. Tea and coffee facilities were there, along with a small fridge of items for purchase such as bottles of water at very low prices.
Do not stay here. The stench of sewer in the stairwell to the location made me nauseous. There is no lift and we had to carry our luggage upstairs. The location said it was non smoking but inside the B.B. had a strong stench of stale cigarettes. I can not tolerate the smell of smoke. The room was dirty as you can see from my pictures. We had to ask for clean bedding. We put our used towels on the floor and instead of giving us new ones, they just hung them back up to dry! They said they did not have any extra but did order some more. The biggest disappointment was they said our room did not include breakfast. What is a B.B. without breakfast? If that wasn’t enough, the electricity went out and the stairwell was pitch black. We had to use our phones to see. Even when the electricity was on, the lights would flicker. Pay a few more dollars and stay somewhere else......
I booked this B.B. because of all the great reviews. We stayed here last week and have to share our experience. First, there is a stench of sewer as you walk up the stairs to the location. For two of our nights there was no light in the stairwell and we had to use our phones to see. Second, trip advisor states the BB is non smoking. Someone smokes as there is a strong stench of smoke in the common area that made me nauseous. Third, trip advisor mentions a pillow menu and slippers, there are none. We were even told our reservation did not include breakfast so we were out on our own every morning looking for food. What is a B.B. without breakfast? Fourth, the first time we got room service, the housekeeper took our wet towels off the floor and hung them back up for us to use again! When we asked we were told they did not have any fresh towels. Fifth, there were no down comforters as indicated and our bed spread was so dirty we asked to have it replaced. The last night the lights kept flickering and even went off a few times. Please see the pictures. BUYER BEWARE.
I stayed for 1 night in this charming hotel and I had an excellent experience. The room looks great and it is very spacious and the location is fabulous, very easy to walk around. I forgot some clothes in the robe and Ilaria (the person responsible for the guest house) was extremely helpful shipping them to me. I really appreciate her doing this and I definitely recommend this place.
The lobby needs to be cleaned.
Guido (the owner) was extremely friendly and helpful. I asked for a bottle of wine to be waiting on our arrival since we celebrating our 30th anniversary and he had one waiting for us. We had the room with the terrace which was a really nice touch. We would definitely stay again. The only complaint is that it was tough for the air conditioning to cool the room, however it was in the upper 90's. The location was a block and a half from the Baptistery.
Situated in the centre of Florence just a few meters from the Dome, this is the perfect place to stay while in this beautiful city. The owner Guido was very friendly and he helped us with everything we needed. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated in florentine style and it had a nice balcony from where we were able to see the city. We will definitely again here again!
This B&B is my favorite by far! The host Guido, was perfect!! Warm, welcoming, clean, always available and went out of his way to make sure we were enjoying our stay and time in Florence! He had a map, gave us orientation to the city, cards for dinner, made dinner reservations and called taxis when we needed them! Room cleaned daily! Mini bar and waters available, full breakfast was provided by the cafe and in room service on a cute cart was given to us as well. We had tea, snacks and coffee. Comfortable king size bed. I will miss our stay there. Perfect location to all the top sites.
Perfect location, it takes less than 5 min to get to Duomo. The host, Guido, was aldo very kind and was happy to help us.
It was fantastic stay with central location....
This hotel is a real gem!!!. The atmosphere is unforgetable. Yes, its true, the hotel is not new, but the spirit of the old Florence is in every detail, impossible to explain, you need to feel this. I will even don't say about the Santa Maria del Fiore, which located really 150 meters from the hotel. If you will arrive by car, you can park your car on the next street in garage. Its really not a problem. The owner of the hotel Guido will book a parking space for you with pleasure. About Guido I need to tell more))) He is real gentleman, always with a smile and ready to explain and show everything, and answer all your questions. In modern times it's not so easy to meet really interesting person. He likes Florence and he will teach you how to like Florence too. The Florence is around and inside him))) Highly recommend to visit!!!)))
I liked this Bed and breakfast. It was located at a very good place near sightseeing attractions. The owner was kind and courteous. The only problem was that; (a) it was advertised with breakfast in the room, that was not the case (we were given a voucher to use a nearby small restaurants which was not really good), and (b) the bathroom was not very clean. All said and done, I will use this place again.
The room is right on the street, very noisey at night, didn't get a lot of sleep. The owner very pleasant and helpful.
I would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to friends and family. It was a pleasure to meet Guido - he provides recommendations and goes out of his way to make sure any queries are answered. The best B&B I have ever stayed in at a competitive cost. The room itself was gorgeous - as impressive as the architecture outside! A great location to explore the city and make connections to the train station. No issues with this booking and would happily use again.
Thank you to lovely Guido, who couldn't have been a more charming host, wonderful welcome, he helped lug my bags, organised for the car to be parked, recommended the best gelato and restaurant, was full of warmth and loveliness - absolutely amazing, it was like staying with family! He was very relaxed about check in and out times, nothing was a problem, everything beautifully set up and organised. Location super central and walking distance to everywhere central. The only downside for me personally was the very noisy street the room looks out on. I was woken about 4 times in the night by various emergency vehicles blasting their horns down the street, despite earplugs and white noise from the air con.
The room and atmosphere was amazing-the room itself and huge bathroom were immaculate and made us feel so comfortable and welcome. Guido was so incredibly kind and such a gracious host-he made my mother and I feel right at home. He was available for any questions and was very attentive to our needs. I look forward to returning to Florence and staying here again-could not ask for any better accommodations!
Guido was hands down an amazing host. He was very patient and helpful. If you need any suggestions on food or how-to-get around just ask him. The room was great. The location was perfect- just a few steps from the Duomo. I would no-doubt return here when visiting Florence again. And to put a cherry-on-top, breakfast was included in our booking :) A definite place to stay when visiting Florence!
Our stay was made even nicer by Guido, the hotel proprietor. He was very accommodating, friendly and helpful. He even left us fresh strawberries in our room that he had purchased that morning in the market. If we had any questions, Guido was quick to help out in any way he could. After our departure he contacted me by email telling me that I had left a shirt in the closet and asked for instructions as to where he could send it back to me. A second email from him stated when he sent it and approximately when I could expect to receive it!!! Grazie mille, Guido. We would stay here again when in Florence and would recommend it to anyone else.
Very nice B&B style room that was clean, elegant, and much larger than most rooms rooms we encountered during our trip to Italy. Guido the owner of these rooms was friendly, courteous, and went above and beyond to make sure our stay in Florence was fantastic. I would recommend this room to everyone!
We enjoyed our stay, the concierge is great, a very helpful man
Guido, the owner is so kind and helpful. The room is gorgeous!! The only problem was the street noise. The hotel is super convenient. Breakfast is in a little coffee shop down the street.
For those of you thinking about going to Florence please do check out B&B Cavour 10! This B&B enjoys a central location right next to the St. Mary's Cathedral of Flowers; Uffizi museum and the Arno river is also only three blocks away. When you check yourself in into one of the three lovely decorated, spacious rooms of Cavour 10( book early!), you will be stone throw away from all the artistic and architectural masterpieces. Amenities in the rooms are very generous, reasonably priced local eateries are within walk distance as well. BUT what makes your Firenze experience unforgettable is the welcoming, thoughtful host of this property, Guido. Signor Guido is always available, trying to make things work in the most convenient way for guests, he even went to the train station with me when I headed for Rome in an afternoon when there was a taxi driver strike. Guido's joyful personality is such a gift that you will definitely love beginning your day in Florence when Guido knocks on the door bringing you freshly made breakfast with fruit, yogurt, croissant, an omelette and of course, very good coffee! I don't think I can recommend Cavour 10 enough, go visit and you will know what I am taking about!
What a beautiful, comfortable room with a great location! Our host was very helpful and recommended great places to dine. Breakfast was included and was a treat everyday!
Beautiful room full of old world elegance. Substantial and delicious breakfast delivered by the very personable Guido. Would stay again. Recommend you visit San Miniato across the Arno, a gorgeous church with a hilltop view of Florence
If you're looking for a convenient place to rest your head while taking in the great sites and sounds of Florence, this is your place. Not only was the room beautifully decorated, clean and roomy – Guido, the owner, will give you recommendations and best ways to maneuver the city if you're new to the area. This bed and breakfast was super close to all of the major attractions by foot and serves a killer breakfast in the morning complete with coffee, juice, egg dish, pastries and more. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else while in Florence!
The manager of this hotel signor Guido was the most gracious host. He booked museum tickets for me and advise places to visit, all done effortlessly. He advised me and booked for me restaurants that served beautiful Italian food (if not for the booking I would not have got a table). Since my return home friends have asked "what was the highlight of my trip". The answer is Florence, signor Guido helped make it the highlight.
Two blocks from the center of town. Only 3 rooms total. Our room was the best and absolutely fabulous for the price. Super service and a very nice breakfast brought to the room.
The room is very comfortable and Large for a B&B in Europe. We stayed in the blue room and everything we needed was available for us in the room. The owner Guido is Fantastic! He is very courteous and helpful. When he found out it was my husband and my birthday he brought us a tray with Champagne, 2 champagne classes and a Birthday Card! So thoughtful of him to do that. The location is perfect. Very close to the Duomo and a 10min walk to the train station. There are so many restaurants within walking distance.
Great host. Close to everything.
