The outlook does not justify the service. This location could be treated as a museum, but not a place to stay. The service was terrible, the check-in and check out time is very inconvenience
My husband and I spent two lovely nights in the individual Cabin on the property. A cute, cozy, comfortable little cottage next to the historic main building. Staff here are friendly and attentive while making you feel “at home.” We had the 5-course table d’hôte in the restaurant on our second night. It was one of the better meals I have had in all my years. All focused on local, fresh ingredients. The cold breakfast buffets are also very substantial. I have Celiac and they had gluten-free bread available. Ask in advance as they keep it in the freezer. The restaurant was also very knowledgeable about accommodating gluten-free needs. They were able to offer many options. Will definitely return!
Weather was hot, it was nice to have AC in the restaurant and our room The food was excellent
Truly unique home with loads of history!
Atmosphère,High quality of Breakfast
This is a lovely spot with kind, helpful staff and a delicious dinner.
Fabuleux
Avenue Roualnis an amazing h route to take back into the city, very unique with old town charm.
Nice ancestral building. Very courteous staff.
Un accueil chaleureux, un souper goûteux et divin, des dejeuners excellent et adaptés aux nombres de clients a table et un confort dans les chambres de l'auberge avec un décor d'antan.
Authentic and beautiful place, the breakfast and the service was superb
Amazing stay
We spent a romantic getaway celebrating our 46th wedding anniversary at this place..we were welcomed as we entered , this house has so much history and it is tastefully decorated. Our room was inviting , very clean. The bed was maybee a little too firm for my taste but acceptable. The pillows were fluffy but would have liked an extra one, my fault I didn’t ask for an extra. The restaurant has a very romantic romantic atmosphere. My wife took the 5 course but I took the 9 course table d’hôte meal. The food was excellent and it really reflected the Canadian Quebec French cuisine which is so delicious …however it was too much food…the service “ Maude” our server was exceptional, didn’t miss anything. We will definitely return and we highly recommend this auberge.
The building, the rooms, the service and the food were everything a traveller would wish. Our stay was exquisite. Our server Pierre for dinner was first class and so was our breakfast chef/server although i don’t have her name. Thank you
Staying at Auberge Baker during our trip to Quebec City was the perfect choice. Maybe it was just because we stayed during the "off" season (late December, between Christmas and NYE), but wow, you really get maximum bang for your buck here! Included in the price of the room was breakfast each morning at the restaurant, which is top-tier Quebecois cuisine. They also offer a generous discount on a 5-course dinner at the restaurant for guests of the inn. The food was absolutely spectacular. The property itself is very quaint, set far from the main road, which makes it feel truly relaxing and removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's a 20-minute drive from Quebec City and a 10-minute drive from Montmorency Falls (which is on the way to the city). I'm so pleased that my partner and I chose to stay here. We definitely plan on coming back!
Everyone was very nice. It felt like home.
Really unique room in a beautiful old building. Breakfast was amazing
Very nice ambience in the restaurant. host David was very good and made us feel very welcome.
Very charming hotel. The hotel is unique in that it is older, I believe built in 1925. Our bedroom had a rustic look, very cozy. Food and staff both excellent!
Being in interested in genealogy, staying in an older home was great. To see all the beams and other finishes was a treat. The food was excellent.
Wonderful place with an excellent restaurant! Check-in and check-out wasn't great and no assistance getting suitcase up & down the stairs (I'm elderly), but everything else was very good. Waiter at dinner was very pleasant & helpful. Lovely location and interiors!
The facility is an old building with character and excellent food. The breakfast provided was simple but top notch. A very welcoming and friendly staff.
Endroit calme et naturel. Parfait pour une randonnée de vélo sur l'avenue royale.
Everything was great!
The place is good. Staffs are approachable. The location is great and quiet.
We stayed one night in the little stand-alone cottage on the property. It was a little place with a lot of character! Rustic, but well-renovated and very clean and carefully arranged. We were traveling on a tight budget, so didn't try dinner at the hotel, but the breakfast spread in the auberge's beautiful dining room was excellent (fruit salad, fresh bread, deliciois crepes and more) and the server was very welcoming and attentive. Would love to stay here again!
Beautiful quiet French accommodation, staff were lovely
The Auberge is phenomenal with comfy beds and clean, spacious and quiet rooms. The hosts could not be nicer and the meals were full of delicacies and unbelievable delicious.
Lovely staff
A great place away from home to feel at home!
Charming room but needed better lighting and a chair other than a rocker. Restaurant was excellent. Staff very nice and welcoming.
A beautiful and rustique property
charming and quiet
We had a wonderful stay at Auberge Baker. The staff were very kind and helpful and the breakfast was wonderful both days we were there. The room and inn, with it’s historical charm, was a fun place to base out of as we explored the area and made trips into Quebec City. We would definitely come stay again.
Very cool staying in 150 year old home, very clean, breakfast was good, stayed in room with king and queen bed, both needed to be replaced (king was lumpy with depressions). If they could fix the bed issue, would be great place to stay!
Beautiful
Very nice and quiet area, charming interior of the building, clean and comfortable room! The staff was super friendly and accommodating to my needs (checked me in early, prepared breakfast for my early morning departure etc.). Would definitely recommend and come back to Auberge Baker again!
Staff is 11/10. Way above & beyond, exceptional service by Maude! Food at the restaurant was also better than top notch. Worth the trip even if you’re not staying at the auberge.
Everything was fine
We had an amazing stay... amazing room with great bed. Wonderful gigantic breakfast and a beautiful atmosphere. We loved it and will come back soon.
During our check-in we learned that the restaurant was shut down that evening because the chef had resigned without advance notice. Disappointing. A cold breakfast buffet was available the next two mornings, but the choices (especially gluten free) were limited. That said, the waitress tried her best. Our room (the loft) was an odd design, with some features missing, e.g. nowhere to hang clothes in the bathroom. The furniture and bed/bedding was tired, but the bed was comfortable. My largest concern would be the loft safety. I don't pretend to know Quebec fire safety regulations, but it's a wood frame building, steep and unusually high wood stairs up to the loft, no alternative fire escape, no emergency lighting, no fire exit plan, etc. Didn't fill me with confidence.
The Inn is beautiful, with old stone walls, wooden beams and antique architecture.
Delightful and charming.
It’s good
This is a beautiful unique and historic inn. Our only "disappointments" were that both the website and the in-room information sheet said breakfast was included but it was not and the beds were rather uncomfortable. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant and appreciated how friendly the staff was, even with our not-always-perfect French.
Very pleasant and warm staff, really good food, and the well-appointed rooms with exposed rough-hewn beams evoked old craftsmanship. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Warming welcome close to the ski station nice location has a park behind easy to park fair price big rooms comfy beds nice bathroom very clean nice staff
Lovely quiet historic town.
The staff "Andreen" was very friendly and helpful. Helped with our food concerns and the breakfast was excellent. A nice quiet place to stay.
Friendly staff& great breakfast
I reserved one room for two nights and I got "le chalet," a detached older house besides the main building. Very cosy, with a small fridge (no oven/microwave), a very easy to use coffee maker, a private bathroom (shower, no bathtub), and its own terrace. Uneven floors and misaligned controls on the air conditioning unit just add to the charm of the place.
Beautiful and romantic historic place to stay. The staff is very friendly and the food and Sunday brunch are amazing.
It was late 19th century decor - historic. Very romantic, although it could have had more lighting.
This is our third visit to the Baker and each one has been very memorable. The menu is extensive with farm to table options. Our room was so comfortable and quiet (pastoral). The auberge is conveniently located off the autoroute and an easy drive from Quebec City.
We just loved it. As there was no availability at the Auberge, we stayed in a small house that they call "the chalet". Was lovely. Like our little house in the woods. We ordered the most delicious meal at their restaurant and took it to our place where we were able to dine at the terrace. Highly recommended. Service impeccable.
Nice old house with lots of character
The dinner on Sunday evening was fabulous. We were disappointed that breakfast was In a box due to COVID. Nevertheless , it was ample & delicious. A beautiful area to relax in. Only thing missing was a pool.
We really enjoyed this quiet and old Auberge. It is tranquil and restful but located near enough to Quebec City. Wonderful food and service. Very friendly.
Lovely rustic hotel. Not much of a view but was located in a cute village with interesting churches and wineries. Don't expect a five star hotel but more like an old chalet.
What a great gem on the outskirts of Quebec City. We booked a quaint little room and we were offered a 9-course meal for such a a reasonable price. Everyone working there made us feel like we were the most important patrons there. The 9-course meal was absolutely scrumptious and their included breakfast was two thumbs up. The room was lovely, their upstairs terrace wonderful and we even got to see bee hives. Overall, it was an outstanding experience and I would recommend it to anyone.
The dining room is Excellent. There are a small number of rooms but we had the Baker Room, which had a fireplace and was perfect. It was very quaint. And a great take-away breakfast waiting in the fridge in the morning.
The room and the service was very nice but the breakfast was cold and discusting
Super beau, et service impeccable. Nouriture excellente.
The staff was amazing. The property was extremely homey especially during the holiday.
Beautiful place, lovely room, but the toilet backed up because the previous guest did something so at 5:30 in the morning, my husband had to deal with a nasty mess. The staff though were super friendly and the location was beautiful. Quebec is a beautiful place.
The hotel was historically interesting. You are literally in a 160 year old farmhouse and there is such character in something like that, you cannot build in a modern facility. The room was remarkably clean (everywhere, hardwood floors, fireplace, bathroom, etc. Breakfast is included in the fare. Owner is lovely. Also, very easy to access. Very close to St. Anne de Beaupre and L'isle d'Orleans.
Lovely setting! We stayed in the cozy chalet and it was perfect for our needs. The breakfasts and staff were exceptional!
Breakfast was elegant as my granddaughter would say! Our chalet with clean and comfortable.
Charming inn, representative of Quebec architecture, traditions, culinary delights. The atmosphere in the dining room provides the perfect ambiance for their fine dining. Service was EXCELLENT! There also is a sitting area, including a kitchen (full refrigerator & freezer, full oven, coffee maker) that guests have access to. Internet access and cable tv, however, may be less than what clients are accustomed to at home.
This is just about as perfect as a hotel/bed and breakfast stay that I have ever had. Everything was smooth. The room we stayed in was absolutely charming, clean, and comfortable. The food was outstanding and the staff friendly and helpful. I honestly can’t rave about this place enough.
Charming country style old house with friendly staff and a nice restaurant but the bed mattresses are in very bad shape.
Patrimonial property a new experience.... worth to live
The Auberge Baker is conveniently located close to Ste Anne de Beaupre, Ile d'Orleans and Quebec City. The 170 year old house has been well maintained...our room was spacious, had a good TV set with channels in both English and French, and had the charm of exposed beams and thick stone walls. We chose to eat dinner in the restaurant where I had food reminding me of my French Canadian grandmother. Breakfast was a nice buffet.
Very nice overall experience. Charming rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast. Highly recommended
Good place to stay for 2-3 nights. The staffs are friendly, the breakfast are really good and the place is unique. It's a good place to stay for 2-3 nights, but it's a little far from the city (30 minutes). The bed mattress could be softer.
We will be back. Excellent!!
Historic building from 1600's with comfortable amenities.
terrific atmosphere
A lovely stay, as ever! Beautiful property in a lovely setting, comfy room, excellent breakfast.
We spent an agreeable night at this bucolic auberge slightly off the beaten track. It was easy to find, tranquil, affordable and quite charming (particularly for those who appreciate antique furniture). The staff were very nice and helpful The room was cozy, comfortable and the wifi worked well (logging on was slightly tricky but the staff explained how). Only the buffet breakfast was available the next morning but it was pretty good and included espresso. Overall a very pleasant stay.
What a cool spot. 1840's farm house converted in the 19th century to an Inn. If you are looking for Historic flavor this would be a great place. Just North of Quebec City it gets you out of the hustle of the City but close enough car ride into the City to see the site of Quebec City. Nice restaurant with com breakfast.
Very cute little cabin. Excellent breakfast and service.
Our family enjoyed the stay. We were in the a side-house. The atmosphere reminded me of vacation rentals from my childhood. It wasn't new, but it was well kept up and comfortable. Our kids really liked the jetted bath too. We enjoyed visiting the older house for breakfast.
Inn did not have our Hotels.com reservation, however they were able to nicely accommodate our family at a nearby historic home. They went above and beyond!
I had a wonderful stay here. Very comfortable bed. Fabulous dinner and breakfast. The location was beautiful, historic and charming. I will return! The owner is a jem and the service is on point.
Host was very nice. We arrive late after the business hour, but the host was very nice and patient. The house is re-decorated from an old building, thus as the description of the house, it is not sound proof, please keep quite and respect other guests in the house. Luckily enough, we have been a very quite night, everyone was respectful and nice. If there was a loud person, would be me came in late at night (Sorry to the folks that night). Breakfast is actually very nice, way beyond expectation. decoration is also nice and beautiful.
Amazing food, great experience loved the attention and beautiful home
Nice auberge, friendly staff and comfortable chateau
Old country house B&B Good atmosphere. Breakfast was continental style. Disappointed.
Wonderful 170 year old Inn. The owner Gaston and staff Sylvie, Genevieve, Liette, Reggie and Chef Bernard were great hosts. The included breakfast was better than Hotel we have stayed at. The dinners were very good. If you are interested in early New France history then this is the place to stay at.
Breakfast buffet is great, many choices, and delicious. Room is small, but made comfortable for living. And hotel staff is very friendly.. Overall, nice place to live!
Nice people, excellent location to visit Sainte Anne, Île d'Orléans, Montmorency...
Nothing like website very deceiving, room crowded n furniture weren't very good, room was hot, and shower too smaller. Air unit was bad Will not return there n will not recommend. Sll
Quaint and charming! This is where I shall be staying from now on during my annual visit to St. Anne's!
The place was better than I expected we lived the character of our room and the food was delicious. We would highly recommend staying here and try to get the Baker room
Wonderful, pleasant staff and accommodating to their customers. Great location with superb dining services.
very pleasant stay before taking the Charlevoix Train to Baie St-Paul
It was about 15 minutes from Mont Saint Anne, and about 30 minutes from Quebec City. It had a traditional French restaurant onsite which seemed very popular (we didn't try it, as I'm vegetarian, and traditional French food is not ;) ). Ample parking, free wifi, and clean accommodations. We stayed in a chalet, which featured sofa, tv, little fridge, coffee maker, nice shower, some antique furnishings, a stoop with lounging chairs (under an awning), and an outside table and chairs. The breakfast featured home made crepes, home made bread, maple syrup, fruit tray, juice, tea/coffee, meat/cheese tray, yogurt, cereal, etc. It's nice to get a healthy/hot breakfast when you're on the road!! We wished we'd had another night here!
