Reviewed Sep 19, 2026The seafront location is perfect, with everything in walking distance of the hotel. We had great views over the beach and museum from our 3rd floor room. The young lady who booked us in at reception was very pleasant and helpful, carrying my wife's bag up to our room for her. Reasonable value for a seafront hotel in Arromanches. Very comfortable bed.
Lack of it's own car park, but there is a public car park next to the hotel which, although busy during the day, had plenty of spaces overnight. The meal we had in the attached restaurant wasn't great

Hôtel resté dans son jus , il aurait bien besoin d’un coup de neuf par exemple peinture des murs, rideaux. Pollution lumineuse avec un éclairage du musée, de l’office du tourisme et de la place comme en plein jour.

La moquette e un leggero odore di chiuso rendono l’ambiente meno fresco, nonostante la pulizia generale fosse evidente. Scale poco agevoli e assenza di ascensore. Il ristorante sottostante garantisce il servizio cena solo fino alle 20.30 in agosto.

Reviewed Sep 3, 2026The room had a great view, was clean and felt very safe. The staff were polite and very helpful. It was easy to check in and there was a paid parking lot was nearby. It was mere steps from the beach and the museum.
The shower head would not stay on the wall. It should be checked and replaced. Otherwise, everything was good.

Het restaurant en ontbijt. Ontbijt was karig. Avond eten had meer weg van opgewarmde kant en klaar maaltijden dan vers gemaakt eten. Personeel van het restaurant is als je geen Frans spreekt kortaf.

Le meuble de salle de bain très abîmé. Le petit déjeuner (le pain était frais de la boulangerie locale. Ce n’était pas le cas de la brioche et des viennoiseries).

Hierbij werden we heel vriendelijk ontvangen , de gastvrouw maar ook de ober waren zeer vriendelijk. Het ontbijt was perfect , geen klein beetje maar volop keuze ,waar je ook week heerlijk van genieten in de serre .
Parkeerplaats ( achteraf had ik dit niet goed gelezen ) maar dit was makkelijk op te lossen door een algemene plaats te zoeken, en die zijn er genoeg.

Abbiamo cenato 2 sere al loro ristorante e abbiamo trovato tutto buono. Prezzo ottimo. Hanno 4 posti auto in cortile, ma subito dietro c'è un parcheggio a pagamento che è gratuito dalle 19 alle 9 del mattino.

Monotonne i bardzo skromne śniadania, brak windy pozwalającej się dostać z walizkami na wyższe piętra.

Parking is limited, but I was aware of this. Used public car park and moved the car in the evening. No AC and middle of a heatwave but, again, I was aware of this.

The lack of an elevator was difficult we have some mobility issues and getting to the second floor would have been easier with a lift. Room facilities are a bit dated.

Reviewed Jul 6, 2026The room had an exceptional good view over the sea, the main square and the museum. The location is especially wonderful early in June when Arromanches is buzzing. The hotel is well situated, has a lovely restaurant and a comfortable room. You're surrounded by history.
Parking close by is difficult. The hotel has some spots, but they are very scarce. There is a free parking just 5 minutes away, but you'd have to be very lucky to get a spot there during the festivities in June. Also, my showerhead was broken, so I had to hold it in my hand.

Parking is limited even for a motorcycle. There's lots of gravel around. Not good for a motorcycle but hey....

Very basic facilities and overall fairly tired looking room. Ate in restaurant when we arrived and it wasn't great (the chicken was delicious, but the accompanying 'mushroom supreme' sauce was just a bit of cream with a couple of slices of mushroom in it!) Restaurant/bar closed up early 'to get ready for breakfasts' so had to take drinks up to room at 9pm!

Reviewed May 24, 2026Hotel de Normandie is a wonderful slice of traditional French Hotel accomodation, in Arromanches - the heart of Normandy. The rooms are traditional and comfortable, the location is right on the sea - front .. insight of some of the Mulberry Harbour relics buried in the sandy shore. Many of the places you may wish to visit are close at hand, including St Mere d’Eglise and the new British Monument of Normandy featuring the ‘Walking With Giants’ silouhettes. The Restaurant and service are very good also.

Reviewed May 20, 2026Le personnel tres accueillant ! C'est leur point fort je dirais ! La vue sur mer magnifique et toujours là si besoin .
Je dirai pas apprécié ! Juste faudrait revoir un peu de petits travaux SDB , car pas tout neuf apres faut comprendre que le batiment est ancien aussi ! C'est ce qui nous a permis de definir ce petit manque de déco et finition sinon niquel pour tout le reste.

Reviewed May 18, 2026La localisation de l'hôtel et la chambre face à la mer Le côté "vieillot" de l'hôtel, charmant! le confort de la literie, la clarté de la chambre (3 fenêtres!) et les volets roulants
la partie sanitaire de la chambre: on dirait un "morceau" rajouté, des espaces très réduits.
